Yeah, I checked various online stores and only Rashid didn't sold out on preorders. Why can't they just release popular characters first before tackling unpopular characters on the beginning of the line is beyond me.

From what I can read of the moon on the Tamashii page they only mention Cammy winning the poll, and I think it says Rashid was recommended by the SFV developers. We also knew they had a Rashid in the works long before the poll started.

Tbh I'm now glad Bandai did the SF line and not figma since only Bandai can make her this poseable which can make her do any of her moves/stances in the game efforless and without cheating.

Thanks, and yeah the articulation is what sold me most. I already have a few figmas and I find myself just posing them once and leaving them be, since they aren't nearly as dynamic. I've found figmas to have a good grasp on appearance and general quality but they can be pretty limited/generic on features and articulation.

Ok great so they're really posable. So is a bendable figure mad of wire and rubber.

So is this revenge for all the complaining about Storm Collectibles Ryu using rubber? You realize Ryu's eyes are super fucking far apart in the game right? It's why the Storm Collectibles looked slightly off and no one could figure out why. They put his eyes too close together which IS more natural biology wise but isn't how he actually looks. It's why he comes off looking like sort of a white guy.

It might be true that there is a fraction of a mm difference between the sample and this but on some shots i've seen on 2chan it looks like the sample so it might just be a QC variance thing too. It's pretty much a non-issue for the most part, any kind of interesting pose (see: anything not STRAIGHT ON) is going to hide that tiny fraction of a mm difference easily.

Looking a lot worse? that's subjective, prtootypes will surely be 100% better even for other lines like Revoltech, figma, etc. but the mass produced version's look isn't drastically different and If you'll check Amazon JP's reviews and 2ch, they have no problems with who they looked like. Chun-li looks fine, but the lack of shading on the Ryu figure makes all of its flaws stand out much more. The promo shots never gave me much hope since he looked awkward from every angle and now we can see from retail samples that he just looks super flat from every angle.

He and Stone Cold are probably gonna dip in price, the WWE releases just aren't as popular as their other foreign properties right now. They are fun as fuck to pose though, they share the same kind of bodies as Kinnikuman releases and they seem more expressive than Mattels current offerings.

I wish there was a special bundle for Undertaker and Kane, they could definitely come with some lightning bolts or flames effects. Their entrances add a lot to their characters.

So I asked my Japanese girlfriend to read and translate this for me. This is not really a Body-chan "version 2". These are the first in a line of Body-kun and Body-chan figures produced by manga artists. The first set is a Body-chan produced by manga artist Kentaro Yabuki (矢吹健太朗) and a Body-kun produced by manga artist Rihito Takarai (宝井理人). Presumably they are based on body proportions they like to draw?

That being said, I googled the works of Kentaro Yabuki and can't really get a fix on any specific proportions he likes. The girls he draws seem to be all over the place and fairly average/generic.

Anyway, thought you guys might want to know.

I think To-LoveRu is trash for obvious reasons but I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't admit that I think Yabuki draws amazing girls with just the right amount of curves and realistic enough proportions (even if ideally sexy). Just got Ryu and Chun-Li and I'm loving them, the poseablity is top notch and I had so much fun posing the 2 in their different signature moves. My only nitpick is Ryu's hadoken stand is too short so you need to make Ryu's hadoken pose lower and Chun-Li can't cross her arm even though she has pull-out shoulder joints is because of her chest.

I think the line went down when Yoshi got released, I remember seeing Amazon JP having a 50% sale even before it was released(2-3 weeks before release date). No, not every SHF is like this. Ever since the various lines "marged" under the SHF branding there has been a mixture of super high quality releases and sorta average-ish releases.

The reason Chun Li and Ryu have such great ankle range is they use the new technology the Kinnikuman line created. Ryu has the Kinnikuman shoulders and elbows as well. Ryu and Chun Li both have the new hip designs seen on some of the newer Riders and DBZ figures. They both also feature a new head/neck joint system that uses double ball pegs instead of hinged ball pegs. Makes them WAY more easy to pose and gives better range.

I agree. It's why I can't stand people shit talking them. Anyone who has one in hand is enjoying the fuck out of them even with the few visual flaws they have. I was on a really big figma kick until prices started going way up and even the more articulated ones just aren't as fun as Ryu or Chun Li. They are fucking outstanding. Even some of the more articulated SHF aren't as fun as them. The major improvement is the head/neck articulation. It's so easy to be emotive with these guys without having to pop the fucking head off and re-orient the hinge ball.

Also SHF isn't known for it's great shading but these guys have plenty of really good shading. Not SAS level but definitely better than 99% of SHF with shading.

Just a warning to be careful with your Chun Li figure. Got mine in the mail today and her leg fell off immediately out of the package. There's a lot going on in her leg/thigh joint and it's a bit on the fragile side.

Yeah, I was able to get her back together using some glue, but the legs are real fragile. If you're thinking of buying her, she's a really great figure otherwise. Just be gentle when messing with the legs.

i wouldn't say they're fragile, but the hip joints do have limits

you can get them into most natural poses without any trouble at all

Well, in order to show you the exact screw that broke, I'd have to disassemble it again and I feel like I got lucky when I was able to salvage it the first time. But I drew an arrow pointing to the exact location of the part that broke. There's a screw that connects the leg to the hip and its real tiny. The 'head, of the screw broke off during the assembly process. It's possible it was just a fluke thing. I haven't read any other reports of breakage issues but its best to be safe.

I think the reason the Figuarts SF line have good weight/balance is because they both have bigger than normal(compared to other Figuarts) thighs and lower legs due to their design, kinda like having diecast feet for SoC and TF MPs. the weight of the legs helps balance the figure.
