Where to buy second hand Shinkis:
>eBay, Amazon - generally overpriced, but you might get lucky.
>Mandarake, Rakuten - search 武装神姫 and don't trust listing images.
>Yahoo Japan Auctions, Suruga-ya - you'll need a proxy if you’re not in Japan.
>Taobao - some shops ship international now, so you might not need a proxy.
>Amiami, Jungle-scs - occasionally get some preowned.
>Check the BST threads, My Figure Collection, and Busou Shinki World too.

1/12 clothes like Picco Neemo fit these, but they tend to be loose or baggy.
We need to collect some resources like tiny tailoring tutorials and patterns.
This has some nice examples using hemming glue and tape instead of sewing:

Rip accidentally tore off the peg on the shoulder joint
Problem now is to getting in contact with Muscuto to order a new one
Asking again because I didn't realize old thread was so close to dead.
I want to make some 1/12 boxes for an otaku diorama. Anyone here have papercraft for things like shinki or fag boxes, or onaholes or hitachis or things like that?
Also, any good regular cardboard box papercrafts? I can very easily clean up and edit the Mandarake or amiami labels onto those.
How interchangable are the Frame Arms and FAGs? In specific, I really want to use the Rapier's high heel legs on a custom idea I'm working on, but I don't know if it will just attach on its own, or how much I'll need to customize it to make it work.
>>6237731
Nice summer edition custom.
>>6237802
Hobbysearch has large clean images of most sides of a FAG box, if you want to have Hres building Hres.
Don't do onaholes, though. That shit's just gross.
Where can you get a stand like in the store pictures?
>>6237763
But those are standard hobby joints, no?
>>6237812
FAG Architect comes with an extra set of special elbow joints that can attach to Frame Arms forearms. You can plug the knee joint of a leg into a FAG's thigh swivel, but this generally won't look good without some custom work since it leaves the FAG missing the lower third of her thigh.
I think if you use a FAG Architect base, though, you can plug the Rapiere foot into the Architect leg foot, then build Rapiere's leg armor around the FAG Architect leg. I've never tested how compatible they actually are, but I'm pretty sure it'll fit with relatively little modding.
@ageha70788192 looks like they scratch-built some thigh adapters you could try to replicate if the above doesn't work.
>>6237731
my little battlebot can't be this cute
>>6237827
No, he makes his own polycaps
The ones used for the shoulders are non-standard
it has 2 another polycaps inside each side that rotates inside which it allows the shoulder armor to rotate
>>6237850
Neat. But couldn't you fix that with pins and a bit of soldering?
>>6237817
Since when are masturbatory assistance objects gross?
>>6237867
I don't think plastic cement works on polycaps
also there's not a good spot to pin it

Damn I really really want this figure but I've never done any plastic kits beyond http://myfigurecollection.net/item/110812
There's a nearby shop that sells gunpla so maybe I can pre-order and work on whatever kits before it arrives.
>>6238000
Megami's are real easy, they require no paint or stickers to look decent out of the box. Just brush up on your nub sanding skills.
>>6238000
Just buy it.
The smug god demands it.
>>6237731
The paint on that is absolutely terrible.
>>6238000
Get a super cheap HG Gunpla kit, or even FG if they sell them (unlikely but work looking out for) and just work on nub removal. Plenty of guides on youtube to do that, or even in the guide in the Gunpla/Plamo thread.
Really easy thing to do if you take your time and at least read up on it before just jumping in blind with something stupid like nail clippers.
>>6238000
Just build my first MD and my advice is that you should get some sand paper to avoid hamhanding these in case pegs that are too tight. Also like someone mentioned it makes it easier to pull appart in case you want to paint it.
>>6238037
I've personally found that going through the holes first with a pinvise works better with tight fits
>>6237889
Just wait for the Koto shop exclusive recolor, man. It'll look like shit, but it'll be different.
>>6238232
It will look mildly different, come with more faces, more hair options, and probably a mining drill, or something.
>>6238232
What I mean is, I like the color scheme and how it looks on the promotional shots, but the colors on the actual kit feel washed out and look like cheap plastic, much like the Gourai I've got. And I'm worried that if I try to paint it so it looks more like it's supposed to, I'll be afraid to touch it to not damage the paint
>>6238293
Are you aware that most of the promotional shot pics are painted examples of the kit? They actually have a photo of the full on unpainted, undetailed kit on the box for people to look at in-store, but unfortunately as people buying from online, it's harder to find those images.
>>6238293
As long as you use a top-coat on top of your paint, you should be able to handle it normally.
I paint all of mine, and have been re-posing them nearly every day for a few weeks now.
The only thing I worry about is other people man-handling them without washing their hands first.
>>6238294
Of course I know it, basically all plamo is like that, and I'm not even talking painted details, it's just a shame that the base colors are worse than they could've been - newer HG gundams and e.g. kijin kikakus look great without painting, nice and vivid colors on the plastic, not as much gloss, etc.
>>6238296
I've heard that top coat tends to wear off too, but if you say it's fine then maybe it's worth a shot.
>>6238315
Hand paint over acrylic primer.
2 coats was all it took, then clean up with a panel-lining pen.
>>6238326
Thanks! Was agonizing on how best to mask the entire skirt around the lines, but I never considered that I could just go over any mess ups with a pen.
>>6237849

>>6238448
But she comes with claws and ready to scratch!
That makes a cat of her for me.
>>6238448
What kind of dog has cat-like ears? maybe it's a spy.
>>6238293
>>6238303
the glossy plastic look is very easy to take care of with a snap build.just use Flat/Matte top coat, no painting neccessary. End result will make it LOOK painted. Heck you can even paint just the armor, leave the flesh unpainted and you won't be able to see a noticable difference in texture between them after the topcoat. That way there is even less risk of paint scracthing off when just the armor is painted considering how little there is on her.
if you still dont like how skin looks and think painting will fix that, consider some weathering powder/chalk pastels. a lot of anons haves hown just a little bit of that in the right areas adds a lot of natural looking depth to a FAGs flesh.
>>6238502
ever seen japanese dogs? their ears are more on the cat like side. also I always got a more wolflike vibe from her for being nmore of a rough and tumble brawler type then graceful assassin type melee as well as her ruffled up looking hair.
>>6238448
>implying you don't need to wash your hands after touching a cat
>>6238521
Generally expected you don't if you live in a civilized world.
Cats unlike dogs maintain themselves and don't take every opportunity to make themselves dirty.
>>6238521
>>6238448
I personally did not catch the 'wash your hands after touching' thing, it could be some crazy obscure reference/idiom only the japanese get considering how chock full of those that manga is according to the translaters
One line I did notice though was 'Man's oldest best bud' when referring to her.

Megami are probably that way, but with FAGs, they all have that FAG bustier that needs a couple of swipes of paint, even if it's just a Testor's black paint marker you can get for 4 bucks at your local Hobby Lobby.
That, and a Matte coat, and you'll have a toy you can be proud of.

>>6238942
It doesn't connect to figures or stands
Wind comes in a few separate parts that all connect together with plastic rods.
>>6238000
thats a matte finish, your out of the box wouldnt look like that.

>>6239137
Tamashii Effects usually work best with Tamashii stages but I can't confirm that.
>>6239137
I think they're the standard 3mm peg hole.

>>6240049
I have one, and two FAGs, peg fits perfectly, but the arm is kinda short, it can connect, but might require getting creative with where you connect it

>>6240281
>>6240292
>>6240299
the size looks very similar to the Gundam Assault Kindgom and now Universal Unit line. Singles of those are sold for about $10 in Barnes and Nobles. Their detail and articulation has to REALLY blow those out of the water for me to feel like this is worth that price. And AK is already extremely impressive articulation for the size.
Might into these too.
>>6240305
Well yeah, but those are gundams and gundam-related robots while these are not - they're basically DIY GI joe robots in designs that do not suck donkey balls.
>>6240305
Assault Kingdom was about 500 yen and got discontinued because China kept jacking up factory prices (AK goes under the shokugan division and is made in China, unlike gunpla).
Its successor series UU is about the same price too.
>>6240319
I know why they were discontinued and revamped into the UU line. Wasn't aware they were roughly 500 yen for singles over there, so i just used what local distribution prices are. So yeah, these really need to impress for me to not feel like I am getting ripped off. I hope the prices are just high for the first wave because they are worried it won't sell as well as something like the FAGs or MDs. The vehicles seem a lot more fairly priced however, those they are probably banking on selling because they have appeal to owners of FAGs.
>>6240278
So these threads for the past several months have just been some kind of high-level denial play? Hot.
>>6240281
I'd have to see 'em side by side to be sure, but I suspect that the Hexa-Pilots will look like they're driving tremendous war-machines, while Megami will make it look like a human riding a wolf.
>>6240327
Kotobukiya is tiny compared to Bandai so you can't really compare the two, but yeah, 1800 yen is kind of ridiculous.
>>6240343
Pretty much. Hexagear is 1/24 while Megami Device is 1/12 which is double their size (FAG is a bit larger >>6239207 )
>>6240306
Pretty neat. Been wanting to break into 1/18 for a little while, but these could be cool instead.
>>6240150
its an engine piece from some random car model kit, its basically stuck on the regular chest piece with some epoxy, its still a wip
>>6240345
>Kotobukiya is tiny compared to Bandai
Which is why I can understand some increase in prices, but 1800yen is just too much for me to understand. I would pay that for a 1/18 scale, but not a 1/24. Maybe I will grab them off of amiami where the price is pretty much what I first anticipated their base price to be, but it still is a hard pill to swallow that these things ended up not being nearly as reasonable to collect on the side as I would have preferred.
>>6240374
It really depends on if you want the Governors or just the Gears themselves. The Gears are the much better value buy given their compatibility with the other Koto lines: probably still can't use them as FAG/MD-scale vehicles, but having them as robot pets should work fine.
>>6240381
as I said in an earlier post, definitely feel the vehicles/gears are a fair price, just not the Governors.
Sometimes twins just turn out evil.

HEXAGEAR is meant to be a block system, so you can literally build whatever the hell you want with it. They basically took the idea with Gigantic Arms being a bunch of individual parts that come together to look like something and ran with it for an entire kit line. There's like two entire sprues full of adapter parts that come with each kit.
>>6240270
May I inquire as to where you got those stockings?
>>6240762
It's a Maisto Yamaha [numbers and letters] Dirt Bike.
If you google 1/12 motorcycle, it takes up most of the entries.
Amazon, too.
It's an easy-build kit. I put it together in 45 minutes, because I bothered waiting for the weathering on the engine to dry, and took a crack at some of the seam-lines. (the ones on the muffler was particularly bad, but it's all hidden under the chassis, so I didn't bother with putty.
The best part is, they're $12 on average.
I'll be getting a Kawasaki Ninja for the other Jinrai.
...Because SOME Gourai types don't know shit about sharing, apparently.

Every time I look at this pic I'm more and more tempted to order a jinrai and barbatos lupus. It's kind of confusing though because the 1/144 looks a bit too small to fit with a FAG while the 1/100 looks too big.
>>6241204
The Lupus has longer than average limbs propotional to its body which combined with the FAGs bicep and thigh length averages them out be relatively proportional to the FAG when you add them on.

Ya beat me to it.
>>6241485
Shinkis are old tech. Megamis could do that pose. I've been meaning to buy an assault lily just for that top tier articulation body, but I'm waiting until I see one I really like.
Why is there no heavy weapons Megami yet?
>>6241744
why haven't you made one?
>>6241833
I don't know who to use as a base. I kinda want to use Grappler since she seems like she's got the big muscles necessary to carry the big guns, but it kinda feels wrong to make a meleer switch to artillery.
>>6241744
well sniper kinda fulfills a bit of that role with the flamethrower option.
>>6241846
If you go off of TF2, the Heavy is the one who uses fists for Melee, so there is precedence. Also Warhammer 40K has Ogryns who before beating up people and they are equiped with very heavy weaponry they can blast away recklessly while they close the gap to pummel dudes.
>>6241852
I suppose that's true. And now that bring up 40k, Grappler does seem pretty orky in her own way, and orks sure don't give a shit about using heavy weapons in close quarters.
>>6241855
Most of those big heavy weapons in games are actually close to medium range when you think about it. You hardly ever see a heavy weapons specialist actually excel with true long range aside from maybe suppressing a wide area.
You could also arm her like a MS-18E Kampfer, covered in heavy hitting yet close range and ultimately disposable weapons for hit and run purposes.
>>6241730
Nice Stormtrooper guns. Megamis have always reminded me of them.
>>6241872
I still have to build Baselard and Stylet, but Grappler is definitely going to be next on my list now...
>>6241482
ok mate, thanks
>>6239973
Now I might go for it, Thanks!
>>6242094
Cute.
>>6237731
has muscuto started to talk back yet or is he still not following up on orders?
>>6242100
Last we got contact was on naver cafe saying, in a really apologetic tone, that shit is being worked on and that there won't be new stuff being made for next events till he's able to finish fulfilling previous orders. Send him an email in any case.
>>6241204
Looks great, but I kinda wanna ask about why use Stylet Hair as the front not the Jinrai one?
>>6242213
Not OP, both have the same hairstyle but Stylet has a headband and I guess that's what the guy was going for.
>>6242224
Yeah, if you look close you can see Stylet's hairband where the gundam hat is attached to.
>>6242242
>Grimgerde Jinrai
YES PLEASE
>>6240630
The two shinkis I'm dying to have, missing out on them back in the day while getting their sisters, but the aftermarket prices for them are seriously bonkers.
>>6242383
Trust choco to have a chocolate gundam.
>>6242496
Razz has been sold already and I'm shipping her ass out today. It's weird, despite having her in a box most of the time when I owned her, I still feel bad for getting rid of her. Hopefully no abuse or bukkake awaits where she's going.
This is the set with the bigger breast parts, right?
>>6242496
Hey, at least you have a Sharatang. Have you seen what she goes for these days?
>>6242639
Bukkake is just a way of marking new territory
Hlj locked my account, cause i didnt pay for my preordered hres (bought her from ami) and ignore their emails.
Did they unlock accounts if i ask them?
What must i write in email?
Any suggestion?
>>6242826
>Hlj
DISCONTINUED
>>6242826
Did you ignore the emails deliberately or did they just go into spam? If it was a mistake you can apologize and explain and they might forgive you. If you did it deliberately, you have nobody but yourself to blame.
You could try making a new account, but I have no idea what would happen if they found out you were the same person.
>>6242826
HLJ lets you cancel preorders, why would you not do that before it became an issue?
>>6242826
So instead of just canceling the preorder or sending them an email response explaining you found it elsewhere, you sat around ignoring payment requests until hlj banned your account? And instead of just emailing them you need to ask a Hungarian clog carving forums opinion first?
Work on your communication skills and talk to them already. Not talking to them is basically what got you banned in the first place.
>>6242826
Why didn't you just cancel it, you spanner
>>6242673
Pretty sure
>>6242826
>HLJ has the most lenient cancellation policy in the industry
>"BETTER JUST IGNORE THEM AND HOPE THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY MAGICALLY"
You are a moron of epic proportions. The reason they lock your account (and then close all your other PO's if you have any) is because they don't want some dead/deadbeat person holding on to stock that can be allocated elsewhere.
All you have to do if you don't want something is to contact them and tell them. You can say you simply don't want it, found it elsewhere for cheaper or make up some sob story, doesn't really fucking matter. E-mail them and apologize for being a dumbass and ask them to unlock your account and assure them you won't ignore their e-mails in the future.
I just found an arnval full arms for $300 Did I luck out? Never opened.
>>6243340
This is at a physical store that I am at right now, I just got to handle the box
>>6243340
I think it's a fair deal if it's your grail or something, but not really a steal at that price.
>>6243367
No shinkis, so not really my grail. She's cute though, thanks for the help
>>6243173
Thanks, now to hope no one buys it from the store before it gets shipped out to me. Mandarake gives me anxiety.
>>6243419
That female cop outfit has potential if you can add a swastika armband to it.
>>6243422
I need those hoodies
>>6242094
That outfit is still terrible
>>6241900
>>6241855
personally I also want to buy the Hexa Gear wolf bike so I can do something similar in >>6239973
except I want to somehow incorporate the front paws instead of the claws she usually comes equiped with somehow. Get rid of the wheels because that is not part of the aesthetic I want. I want a mecha wolf girl with big paws, big guns, and a fluffy tail. Getting a fluffy tail w2ill be the harder part sadly.
Since this is the 1/12 thread I guess I should link this
http://www.daikikougyou.com/2017item/oyaji/oyaji.html
>>6243531
technically speaking this is a 1/1scale thread.
>>6243533
>http://www.daikikougyou.com/2017item/oyaji/oyaji.html
11500 yen is a bit too much. If it's like 3500 yen I might buy it as a gag purchase. Look like the bitches he come with pumped the production cost up.
Come to think of it, I wonder what workers in the factory that makes these would think as they work on these figures.
>>6243533
Yeah, and it has nothing to do with palm sized robot girls either. I think anon just wants people to see it. If I was a bigger Danny Devito fan I might want one.
>>6243531
This is no more the 1/12 thread than the figma or figuarts threads, which is where you should've posted that. In fact, it's less because shinki and friends are 1/1 scale.
>>6243531
Why do this? I really wonder why? There's so many cool characters and you decide to make this one? Seriously?
>>6243548
I think it's because the market for cool characters are pretty competitive and over-saturated, while something like this is rare and might get some quick sales.
Same reason why there's pineapple flavored potato chips and shit.
>>6243340
Nope. Those go for about $120 on Mandarake.
>>6243307
>he can't into sad panda
>>6237878
Yes it does polycaps are plastic. And in the center you fucking hambrain hamhanded fool.
>>6239207
Are the new picco neemos worth the price? It seems everything in Japan has gotten so much more expensive.
>>6243519
Perhaps not as hard as you think, the danball LBX sniper wolf comes with an excellent poofy tail, and there is a guy that does tails and ears on taobao
>>6243594
Tried plastic cementing some polycaps to get an extra long polycaps, they actually absorb cement and it makes them less malleable as a result, but they do not attach. I've had decent luck with using superglue on polycaps though.
>>6243594
The peg is offset from the center of the joint you idiot
Found a cute Baselard custom on the internet today
>>6243598
China factory prices jacked up everything.
If you're into Japanese toys the only thing that isn't expensive now is Gundam model kits because Bandai has their own factories for those (and ONLY the model kits, the other toys are all China).
Got this thing since it was at less than half price at Kotobukiya's sale.
>>6243643
>>6243558
This is both amazing and terrifying
>>6243558
I didn't know Maryceles was also the CRYSSALID Shinki.
Can anyone suggest a peg/ball set for modding FAGs?
So after a year Materia's wrist broke.
Wasn't there some sort of guide on a replacement/fix for it?
>>6243684
For what? I know there was talk of using the Ballden arms set for Gourai's hips
>>6243687
Megamis come with a lot of extra wrists, depending on the half that broke you can replace it with those, otherwise there are small joints that came out recently that might work, own some but haven't tried yet
>>6243612
Anon I'm sorry I haven't been on 4chan in awhile and I just wanted to yell at somebody ;-;
>>6243694

>>6243641
Guess that also explains why Bandai's plastic looks much nicer than virtually everyone else's...

In so many words, it's a compilation of 2-4 well done customs of each girl that's been released, and most of them have small in-progress shots to showcase techniques. The back has combinations with the gigantic arms set, more heavily altered customs, two pages dedicated to front and back shots of the Anime FA:Gs, two pages dedicated to the Blu-Ray Gourai, and ending off with like, 6 of a pretty cute unarmored Baselard cosplayer.
I paid about 33 USD for mine (including shipping) and I'm satisfied, I feel cool having a physical archive of FA:G customs.
>>6243824
Thank you for the link
>>6243824
What's included in the lot? A set of fox and cat ears/tails or just one of them?
Also I wonder what does it mean that the naked body the same guy's selling is set as 999999 yuan, is that basically a "temporarily out of stock" sign?
>>6243667
>>6243678
Front side
>>6243857
I like how the most brutal Shinki has an adorable bonnet.
>>6243558
Aksis? Is that you?
Starting to get close to finishing my Gourai in an edgy colour scheme. The faceplate is from a Stylet kit though.
>>6243616
so how do people get the extra material for customs like these? The checker patter coattails obviously don't come with her and look like plastic to me, so how did they make them?
>>6243616
Is that some kind of metallic violet layering on those armor parts, or is it a specific kind of metallic color? See, I'm looking for a certain kind of brown, maroonish metallic color, that's not quite bronze/copper that I've seen once on an EVA-04 variation. I'd like to use that sort of color.
>>6244003
The hook on the staff's package material and I could imagine that the coattails are cut up plastic spoons.
How does this neck connection work? Is it even suppose to move at all? I get the feeling that something is going to break whenever I move Stylet's head. Also, is the neck connection suppose to go all the way down?
>>6244050
the head rotates on the ball, mainly.
>>6243785
That's actually one of the reasons they keep the gunpla factories in Japan. It lets them maintain a higher plastic quality more reliably.
I sacrificed my Materia's old body to my Greifen girl, but she seems pleased with the replacement
>>6244050
Mine's pretty stuck inside my Stylet's head, so I couldn't get a good shot of just the neck on the body, but yeah, it seats pretty well on there.
I think besides the shinki heads, muscuto's heads are the second most difficult to recast. there's a lot of spots that bubbles can form in, so they need a lot of attention.
the megami device were the most straightforward. I can't wait for hornet to come out.
>>6244184
Cast anon, will you be selling your recasts anywhere, or ate they just for personal use?
>>6244050
It's important to be careful with the neck peg.
It affords a small amount of mobility, but will break if you are not careful.
But it's easy enough to replace if you do.
>>6243856
I don't honestly know, I've never bought one.
>>6244145
>Actually using the chin guard
Well that's rare.
>>6244234
fucking dullahans
>>6244234
How did you replace it?
>>6244254
Anon used a rare-earth magnet, I'm sure there's a tutorial floating around somewhere
>>6244230
Different anon, but if you're just doing super simple stuff like MD faceplates, it's only like 40 bucks to get some Smooth-on Ooomoo and resin.
Though I've been meaning to open up an Etsy shop for the longest time. Maybe once my Ryona head is finished
>>6244254
>>6244259
Yep.
Conveniently, rare-earth magnets come in 3mm sizes, so they're useful for all kinds of FAG and Megami-related things.
I don't love the neck-ruff that all the Fumikane FAGs come with, but it covers up the putty-job I used to secure the rare-earth magnet in the base of her neck.
Oddly enough, the magnet in her neck shaft was snug enough that it didn't even need to be glued in.
I've had breakage issues with Gourai, Jinrai and Hresvelgr, but for the most part, they're easily fixed.
>>6244347
>breakage issues with Hresvelgr
She's got so many potential points of failure in her kit that I'm a bit scared to actually get around to building her.
Is Jinrai basically the same as Gourai regarding its core architecture? Or did they incorporate some of the fixes from the latter kits?
>>6244380
Jinrai has Materia's thighs and torso instead of ball joints and Gourai torso, but other than that I can't think of any core differences?
>>6244370
The point I screwed up was in the Wings/rifle holders. There's a transparent piece and a pvc hinge held together by 2 half-shells.
I didn't want to chance overspray or matte-coat getting on the transparent pieces, so I painted the two half-shells separately.
This turned out to be a huge mistake.
If I had just had the balls to mask out the transparent piece and the hinge...
The hinge got stuck. Paint, matte, just too high pressure, who knows? and attempting to turn the hinge cracked it.
Now I can't get the half-shells open, and the hinge won't sit all the way one way or the other.
Thankfully, it's the least necessary piece in the whole construction, but around Hres, never relax.
>>6244380
>>6244384
Gourai head, Materia torso and waist, Architech arms and legs, plus armor-plates and a LOT of pokeys.
>>6244380
Jinrai has virtually none of Gourai's core architecture. The only thing that's the same between them is the head and the shoulderpads. Jinrai has a cannon that looks a lot like Gourai's, but it's assembled in a different way and attaches to one of her arm braces instead of to her back, although it comes with a part that lets you switch it to a back mount like Gourai's.
Something that bothers me from the first kids is that all of them have the same frontal hair. Lazy Koto is lazy.
>>6244424
Well they were all designed by the same guy and were basically palette swaps.
Maybe you thought you saw the last of them?
>>6244587
Gabrine is just too cute
does Mandarake require a proxy or any other shipping preparations?
>>6244708
No. You might have problems if you pay by credit card.
Since the last one got deleted, I'll just leave the doujin title in the filename.
>>6244740
>Adult onry
Oh, so close.
New thread: >>6244839
>>6244740
What always annoys me in these doujins is that the artists draw the usual meatbags (sometimes too thicc, even) and then add some bolts and seams afterwards. Consider me weird, but I prefer tiny robot girls to still look like robot girls.
