My girlfriend had a decent amount before we started dating but almost all statueshit, only after we started going out did she get more into Figmas and plamo.

Generally she thinks they are neat, and is happy I like them. She also has a collection of American Girl and Barbie dolls, a mix from when she was a child and more recent ones she picked up after my collection got her interested in toys again, plus I got her hooked on mixels. Now she's pretty passionately into the idea that people should never stop playing with toys.

I have an interest in martial arts so I signed up for boxing, then some gym mates in there suggested I try out muay thai and BJJ, got me in shape, got me to know a lot more people too. Toys is something easy enough to upkeep, just check 4chan for announcements or pre-order dates, then work for the money for the ones you want and it's a done deal as a hobby.

Get laid in college, once you go to work, depending on what work you get, you MIGHT end up meeting less people. When I worked a corporate job, I met a lot more girls (I was in marketing) than when I finally landed a job in SF in games (met mostly dudes... or investor bro types). There's also the added complication of, "well shit I'm supposed to be professional with this person, I shouldn't bang her". In college?
