Captain Universe comes with a bearded Peter Parker head. Time for some Kaine?
>>
Im surprised we still havent seen these spidey villains updated:

Lizard (BAF please)
Kingpin (BAF mandatory)
Mysterio
Doc Ock
Classic Vulture (not ultimate)
Overdrive
Hydroman (can reuse sandman BAF)
Scorpion
Prowler
>>
>>6196313
We probably won't see Overdrive unless SDCC.

Mysterio they designed, they just keep pushing it Marvel Universe scale. :/
>>
They still haven't given us a proper Peter Parker head for Spidey. Maybe the 2 pack with MJ will include it?
>>
>>6196303

I so need a classic 90s Kaine figure.

I have waited. I have been patient. And, finally, they give me almost everything. From what I can see, the only things missing are alternate hands, wrist hinges, and a neck hinge, though from another picture I think that one's there. Webs would be nice too.

And to top it off it comes with a goddamn Shocker. Now Hasbro just needs to unfuck the regular Beast and Black Cat they've done and 1/18's gold for me.

Are there gonna be any more announcements or is that it?
>>
So everybody:

>What figures were you most excited for before toy fair?
>What figures are you most excited for after they were shown?
>What announced, but not shown figures are you most excited for?
>What's your biggest surprise?
>What's your biggest disappointment?
>>
>>6197122
>What figures were you most excited for before toy fair?
Captain Universe Spider-Man and Moon Knight
>What figures are you most excited for after they were shown?
Captain Universe Spider-Man, Beetle, and MJ. The bearded head is awesome, and Beetle looks way better than what I thought he would look like. The MJ looks great.
>What announced, but not shown figures are you most excited for?
Deadpool Marvel Legends. I'm curious if we'll see a Lady Deadpool. T-Ray is probably gonna be the build a fig, right?
Oh shit, I wonder if we can get an articulated Lady Death.
>What's your biggest surprise?
A-Force 6 pack. I don't really need any of the figures, I just didn't expect it.
>What's your biggest disappointment?
The fact that if I want Elsa and Monica for a nextwave display, I gotta get the A-Force 6 pack. Hopefully it shelfwarms and goes on sale for half price, than I can sell like half the figures.
Also, Mantis being a Build a fig really sucks. I prefer the comic version anyway, but having just any figure of her would've been nice.

I'm still waiting for a Mania and Overdrive figure the most though.
>>
I can't wait for

Revoltech Venom
ML MaryJane
ML Captain Universe Spidey
ML Tombstone
Figma Deadpool
Revoltech Spider-Gwen
With some various ML sprinkled in there
>>
What do you guys wanna see in the Deadpool wave? I'm thinking of characters they could do.

>X force Deadpool
>Domino
>Lady Death
>Hydra Bob
>Weasel
>Lady Deadpool
>Agent X
>Shiklah
>Madcap
>Terror Inc
>Foolkiller
>Solo
>Slapstick
>Copycat
>Siryn
>Venompool

And then the only figures big enough for a BAF I can think of would be T-Ray or monster Shiklah.
>>
>>6197122
I'm not saying this was a boring toyfare, but most of the legends stuff leaked beforehand and I was just waiting to see how it actually looked. I guess I'd have to go with lady thor, monica, and I guess one of the mcu spider-men. The heads in general are all looking really good, and hopefully they end up looking that nice at retail like the gotg wave.

The only thing that had me really hyped was revoltech gwen. Again, not a bad thing, but this was more of a confirmation event than anything.
>>
>>6197192
I'm thinking there's a good chance they'll throw Gwenpool into this wave
>>
>>6196834
The last body mold would have been better for Dark Phoenix while the one they're using for DP would have been better for the green costume.
>>
Has the guardians wave been found anywhere besides Walgreen's yet?
>>
>>6197288
I saw Star Lord at Target. Kinda kicking myself for not getting him now. I may go back. There were still two left. The head sculpt was really good. Much better than the last one.
>>
>>6196736
>3.75 shocker has the thunderbolts buckle but the ML didn't
God damn it Hasbro
>>
>>6197192
Gwenpool
Bob
Classic Cable
Classic Taskmaster
Weasel
Domino
Death

And there's no chance because they can't make Fox movie characters, but I'd definitely buy both Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Colossus from the Deadpool movie.

I thought star-lord was gonna be an easy buy when I saw how nice the head turned out, but the one in the next wave with the longer coat has me scratching my head. Does anyone with the new and old ones confirm if the old coat fits on the new body? The new one looks bulkier so I'm not optimistic, but that'd be pretty cool.

Searching for good figures is going to be so fucking hard in LA. I miss the days of easily hunting for toys.
>>
>>6198704
I don't necessarily think it was smart, but they had to mold it in blue because he has blue on his shoulders too, and it would be a bitch to paintmatch that new swirly metallic plastic they're using. And even if they did, the blue would chip and show white underneath. So either way you'd have an ugly chipped shoulder. We just can't win this one.
>>
>>6199061
LA toy hunting is always a shitshow because of Frank & Son. Those vendors sweep through and clear out shelves first thing in the morning. Also, due to many factors, we have a huge nerd population here, so there are plenty of non-scalper people jockeying for those toys too. Not gonna lie, I get a little jealous when I hear people tell stories of living in small towns where nobody cares about toys, and finding full pegs all the time.

On the other hand, we do always have Frank & Son. Where you will overpay, but you can be guaranteed to have the toy you want in-hand immediately.
>>
>>6199103
My Target just put out the Groot wave. So yeah, small town life. Wait years vs drive to the city/order online.
>>
>>6196313

A suited Doc Ock is still one of my most wanted figures. The old metallic Scorpion is still gonna be hard to beat plus any newer costume Gargantuan is gonna be straight shit. I agree wholeheartedly on Mysterio though. There was something about his head on the old ML that was weird wasnt it? Kingpin needs a BAF or big Select figure.
>>
I don't really collect Marvel at all but in TRU UK they had these two packs for £7 each consisting of
Nick Fury and Iron Man
Captain America and Black Widow
Hawkeye and Falcon

Are these Marvels version of Star Wars TBS 3 3/4"?

For that price are they worth it?

I already pay £8 for a single SW figure at ASDA so to me seems good.

Central TX here.
Went to Target, found A restock occurring and almost 2 full cases of X-men on the pegs. Only one Shatterstar, and one Cyclops, everyone else had at least 2 figures out. I'm passing on everything else in this wave until any of it hits clearance in a few months. Checkout girl was excited to see an X-men fan.

Also stopped by a Walgreen's and the guy stocking the toy aisle told me that he had a full case of Guardians in the back, but that when he tried to see some this weekend, his terminal had a lock on that wave that releases 3/1. He suggested I try Wal-mart since they "don't have those restrictions", but we both agreed that our area's Wal-marts are unreliable for new ML.

>>
>>6198750
This was discussed in a recent interview with Brian Flynn (of Super7):
IIRC;
It costs as much to cut a die for a 6" figure as it does for a 4" figure, but nobody's going to pay $20 for a 4" , so to recoup their costs, companies have reduced articulation, saving money at the engineering level, and possibly squeezing in multiple figures per die.
And because 6" figures can be sold at a higher price point, they maintain the articulation.

>>
>>6198739

Bah. We all know ML is a bunch of customs using the same few bodies over and over with (usually) just enough new parts to make them unique enough. When so many of the costumes require little more, it's no big deal. It helps keep the articulation and visual style mostly even as well, which is nice in most cases. Most artists draw the same bodies/faces over and over anyway.

But, let's not act like it's unreasonable to at least want the paint on the things to hold up to posing.

They often do movie figures as a BAF to help sell the wave. The demand for movie figures is high and retailers like the gauranteed sales for them. Getting 3 different female figures onto single card was probably a deal breaker, so the new female character got regulated to BAF status.

If it's cheap you can take the head and accessories and stick it on the new Ghost Rider. It would be an easy custom. The head might need to be dremelled and hopefully it's in proportion to the body.

MS vs ML Colossus notes.
Their hands are nearly exactly the same size and design, so someone who wants to repaint the ML's open hand could use it seamlessly on the MS.
The MS' neck peg would have to be altered or replaced to fit the bearded head, since it's too long.
Arm and leg articulation have the same number of points, but the ML gets a little better bicep curl, while the MS gets better range from its knees. ML has better range at the hips, allowing for more stable and dynamic posing. And the fact the MS's ball jointed torso gives it lateral movement is a big bonus.
ML's gauntlets are glued on and not removable. They are separately molded pieces, but the forearms are molded and designed specifically to be covered up.
MS is still my favorite for old costume and brighter metallic color, but ML wins for stability, and beard.

And a note about Shatterstar: it's on the same body as comic Dr. Strange, but with new arms. The arms' bicep cut disrupts the sculpt once the arm is twisted, and the sculpting of the shoulder and bicep pieces prevent the arms going straight down. I'm still happy to have a figure of this character, though.

All new. It's bigger than the Sentry/Venom body, but shorter than the Terrax/Dormammu/Absorbing/Sandman body by about 1/4".
The ML Colossus body is also the basis for the upcoming Death's Head II. And it does have a cut joint at the calf, FYI.

>>
>>6202190

>>
>>6202164
They are repaints of MCU figures between the Avengers1 line to the Capt2 line. You can actually tell which came first by counting their points of articulation. During that period the execs decided that all 3.75" had to come with giant launchers to attract kids.
>>
>>6202233
Is that why they all come with holes their backs?

The Ironman you were disappointed by is equivalent to the current SW TBS 3.75" so I'm not really clear about what your standards are.
>>
>>6202280
Guess it sucks to be a Marvel collector then!

Compared to the Shoretrooper, Iron Man sucks.

I don't mind the joints if they look and feel good but they don't do either for me.

Standards are TVC/TBS/Legacy... essentially look good and can pose well.
>>
>>6201391
>Getting 3 different female figures onto single card was probably a deal breaker

stop being a retard, you KNOW wasp, misty knight, sharon carter are shelf warmers, even kitty and pheonix are lingering too long. Mantis? Mantis is an unknown to casuals and normies, they didn't want to gamble. BAF will sell the wave.
>>
>>6202204
Yeah, it looks like the same plastic as is used in MCU Giant Man's head. Kind of a dark-ish gray, slightly metallic. It's not swirly like Taskmaster, but you can tell that the plastic was injected from different sides of the mold (see the vertical line on his left bicep). The arms have a paint wash on them that the heads don't have, and so the arms look duller and more matted than the heads.

That is not proven. She may be one of the hottest new characters to come out of the MCU and be a 100 dollar figure due to high demand. She may be a dud. It's a gamble. Retailers don't want to buy and sell a gamble, they want to sell a sure thing. Stop thinking like neck beards and think like disconnected CEO. If you can't understand this you're a hopeless wreck. He's got bits of paint on him everywhere cept for the legs and hands. His zipper and even the zipper pin on his jacket are painted too.

Guns are his old ones, but with more sliver on them. The extra color did wonders.

The unmask head is really good. Blows the old one out of the water. This hasty photo doesn't do it justice.

No boosters though. Hands look fine to me. Probably was the angle.

Pretty solid for the price.

Sorry for the dumbass newfag question but please can someone explain what you guys mean when you talk about "gummy" joints/plastic? I enjoy following this thread but have never actually owned a marvel legends
>>
>>6204053
They're all garbage.
>>
>>6204057
Legends have this sort of weird thing going on where their joints work as kind of a soft ratchet. The plastic they use for the connector pieces (check out the elbow in >>6203894) are usually a softer plastic than the rest of the body so the joint can bend easier. Sometimes the plastic is too soft though, and you get very loose ratcheting resulting in floppy limbs, and in some cases the joint can even flex sideways. The last part is a fairly common problem with they way that they're packaged, the plastic clamshell that's molded around them can sometimes leave a joint warped sideways right out of the box.
>>
>>6204053
>>6204060
Yep. But the MK 46 is the most recent one to potentially flood the market.

>>6204057
Grab a stick of regular Trident gum and you're basically there. Soft plastic that mostly maintains its form and finish, but which is easy to bend and warp, and which buckled under the application of any weight (including the weight of the figure itself), leading to figures that are designed to stand on their own but can't.

There's been a ton of molds so it's hard to say. Personally, I love the bulkier armors. As for shitter molds, the Extremis from the first ROML wave was shit and continues to be shit even through they did Iron Patriot from it.

I'm not sure what the going rate is these days, but you should be able to get a decent armory pretty easy given how many figures have been released.
>>
>>6204057
Basically refers to the plastic used in the joints. If it's soft, then the joints aren't as stiff and it makes posing harder. It doesn't happen often, but then you have figures like Longshot or, to a lesser extent, Iceman and it sucks.

I got her ten bucks new from the exchange (small Midwest chain that's basically GameStop plus music and movies) about a week ago. She's alright, but I personally think not many legends are worth the full 20 bucks, her being one of them. Check out eBay or amazon?

Has anyone tried fitting ML Venom's hands (or armos) with Toxin's/Anti-Venom's?

Mostly thick craft board, spray paint, mirrors, and led lights. Also a lot of Iron Mans.

Yeah, I figured she wouldn't have any like, hidden charms or such. She's usually discounted on some of the more major retailer sites, so I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled.

Got mezco frank today. He looks AMAZING and the detail is incredible, BUT he suffers from a pretty nasty QC design flaw.
>>
Where is the Mezco Frank with the white straps?
>>
>>6206492
He has one little peg that holds his elbow together, and its not NEARLY robust enough. Its like, .5 mm
>>
>>6206499
Seriously, the part where it attaches is so small, you can barely even see it. Gunpla parts are attached to the sprue more robustly than his elbow are put together.

Luckily, I ordered this from amazon so returning it will be easy. Ill give it one more shot and then Ill just stick with the legends.
>>
>>6206499
Holy shit, I would have assumed that was a wrist peg from that picture. Was it like that out of the box?

I fucked around with other arm to see if it had the same issue and it didnt come apart like his right arm did. Hopefully this is an isolated issue and the next one is OK.

I really do LIKE this figure. Like I said, it looks incredible. For the price though, I expect better QC.
>>
>>6206510
>Was it like that out of the box?
Nah, I got two poses out of him before it fell apart. Like I said, the other arm is fine.

Mezco QC is shit.

Sent my last Batman back to BBTS for replacement and basically got the same issue with the cowl back.

How fucking hard is it to glue a cowl on straight?

This is why I like being at physical stores. Internet shopping is convenient but I'd rather take going to a shop and a bit of a mark up just for the peace of mind of being able to inspect a figure before purchase.

Huh, i was scared when trying to force the wrists in and i was pretty hard on it.

After being so harsh with it and trying to make him aim properly, i feel secure with it.

Anyone know if the Batman and Dredd figures also have that type of peg too?
>>
>>6206551
What would inspecting have done? It didnt fall apart until after I had posed it twice.
>>
>>6206564
>After being so harsh with it and trying to make him aim properly, i feel secure with it.
Yeah, I yanked on his good arm a little to see if it would fall apart too and its fine. I already ordered a replacement, so fingers crossed.
>>
>>6206551

They are swathed in so much film and plastic you won't be able to tell just by looking through the window-box.
>>
>>6206567
fair enough, but more overt ones like the cowl problem would be more easier to catch.

>>6206576
Shop I go to let's you swap out a product with a new one if you inspect it in front of them and find something you don't like, provided that you don't fuck up the packaging.

There is none. Customizing is such a niche field any way. It kind of takes the whole point of collecting something away, since you can newer finish your collection.

Oh, I didn't know that, nice. I actually kinda dropped off Marvel comics during Civil War II, I should catch up on what I was reading.

I really wish we could see a figure of her perfect live action X-Men uniform, but I'd still buy her a figure of her comic appearance.

How did you even realize it did this? I messed with mine quite a bit and had no clue until you mentioned it. Pulled the pistol out of the box to test it out and holy shit, it does move. Mezco really went all out on Frank.

Holy shit. The target near me just cracked open a case of GotG legends from the first movie. They have the Sandman wave and the Abomination wave just chilling next to Rich Rider and Peg warmer Iron Man

OK, so hear me out for a second. What are the odds that hasbro has just been sitting on GOTG cases for the last two years? Because if these are actually newly made, then that means this could be chance to get non-gummy versions of those figures. Basically just nova at this point as all the others are getting straight upgrades in the actual new wave, but I'd take a chance on him if I saw one at retail.
>>
>>6207850
That would explain why Canada basically didn't get any of the GotG wave.
>>
>>6207850
>What are the odds that hasbro has just been sitting on GOTG cases for the last two years?

It's possible. The GOTG wave actually sold better than any other wave that year and Hasbro actually went back into production on it to meet demand. Hasbro might have over produced the 2nd run and could have been sitting on these.

I don't know how it was in everyone's area but in my area the GOTG wave sold out everywhere. The only figure that really sat around was the Iron Man variant. The rest of the figures came and went. If the wave was that popular, why would Hasbro sit on cases of it?
>>
I missed out on Juggy wave Wolverine. How the fuck do I get him without paying $40?
>>
>>6207969
Of this time urban out to be the case, I might have to pick up Dick Rider and Rocket (who would be useful for the Groot piece once the standalone Groot is available at TrU).

In other news, the Walgreen's 3/1/17 lock on vol 2 figures is hit or miss. I picked up Yondu just a second ago from an out of the way Walgreen's. Nice to have been able to get all of the figures I want from a wave in a relatively short time span (Star Lord, Yondu, Darkhawk).
