Any brick pieces can be copied by any company and be sold. It's when they copy their designs and minifig prints is when they lose their shit. If Chinese companies didn't use the packaging art, minifig prints, and build design, LEGO wouldn't be able to do anything about it. But most Chinese companies just make direct clones of a released LEGO set.

>>6183971
Just to give you the basics, since everyone who hears about BL for the first time seems to have trouble understanding what it is:

>Bricklink is a network of independent Lego sellers who sell their own used and new inventories. Each seller is their own store, so if you want one piece from one store and another piece from a different store, you will have to make two separate orders and pay separate shipping charges on each.

>Read the store's Terms page carefully; some stores have a minimum buy amount, require you to buy a certain number of identical parts, only accept one type of payment, or only ship to certain countries. It's usually best to buy from a seller who's located in the same part of the world that you're having it shipped to.

>Get a PayPal account if you don't have one.

>After you complete your order, DO NOT PAYPAL THEM RIGHT AWAY. Wait for them to send you an invoice. This will mean that they've calculated the correct shipping costs already.

If you have any other questions, ask in this thread.
>>
>>6183970
You could also get Lego Digital Designer (free, official) and a decent post-rendering program and make a high-quality digital render of a spaceman that you can pose from any angle.
>>
>>6183970
You could grab the Benny Dimensions pack on the cheap and get the best TLM character with a cool little spaceship to go along with him
>>
>>6183980
>>Get a PayPal account if you don't have one.

It's a fucking pain though. Literally less than 1/5 of sellers use my only type of payment and even a smaller amount ship to me

I don't think they're squeezed together that much. The front leg is angled out a smidge, so it makes the lines of the legs seem to angle together more than they actually are.

Atlantis trumped that hard in the deep-sea horror department with nightmare-fuel anglerfish, tentaclemonsters, and other longteethed monstrocities (including that very popular hammerheadshark headpiece). The ships had some more serious prints and colourschemes (apart from neon-green) but once you popped off the helmets they looked like aliens dressed up as circus-artists.(wich admittedly is pretty cool)
But to call lego less scary or edgy than back in the day is just silly. They recently produced themes like Monster fighters/halloween cmfs with several realistically decomposing zombies, angry vampires, a crying drowned spectres, a whole variety of edgy monsters in the ninjago theme including but not limited to: killer clown/nazi skeletons, chinese sickly green vampire-ghosts, ancient armours inhabited by evil slithering snake-hiveminds and don't forget about the literal (semen)demons in nexoknights.

I often do that, but it's 76 lots in vary quantities.

OH MY GOD YOU GUYS

Sorry I don't normally post but I just had to vent. I was at Target today checking to see if they have any Mixels left (fucking Lego jews canceling Mixels) and I heard these two little kids talking about the Ninjago sets, I went over to them to tell them not to waste their time with that kiddie shit but right before I said anything one of them says "I must have butt dialed you" and they both started laughing like it was the funniest fucking thing in the world

I couldn't believe that they were being so bluepilled by the Lego Ninjago Movie, I was so pissed off I had to buy another Clay's Rumble Blade even though I hate Nexo Niggers

So I want to get more serious with my building, but I dont have the widest range of parts therefore I've made the conclusion I cant get everything I need simply from buying sets only and the pick-a-brick selection is limited.

I thought of using TLG's own bricks and pieces section but it takes up to 2 weeks for the orders to ship and 3-5 weeks to arrive which is way too time consuming.

This leaves bricklink and brickowl. I've heard lots of positive feedback on bricklink but the whole payment system just doesnt work for me at all which is why I'm curious as to what people think of brickowl?

How exactly does it work? Apart from paying upfront I know next to nothing about it, what happens if you pick pieces from different vendors in your cart, do you only paying shipping for one of them?

I've tried 3 times with three different sellers, never got clear information as to how to pay them or when, which leads to orders eventually being cancelled everytime.

Due to the site being run by individual vendors its not like I can contact customer service on them. This is why Brickowl's paying up-front seemed like the best way to go about things if i learn how to use the site.

Did you read their Terms pages? Sellers usually give clear descriptions of how their stores work. You just check out, wait for them to send you an invoice that includes shipping costs, and then follow the payment instructions on the invoice. A lot of stores even let you pay on-site with PayPal and the shipping is calculated automatically.

Like the other anon says, you might want to read their store terms pages. Some have instant pay options, but with like 99% of sellers it works like this:

pick out your stuff
hit 'checkout'
wait
receive message via bricklink; the seller will have added shipping charges, then sent you a paypal invoice
pay
wait some more
receive package

For the first 3 months you get 30% off. Also during that time they determine whether you're fit to stay. After that, then you get the 50% off. Also, both periods have a yearly cap on how much you can spend, though I forget how much exactly it is. Regardless, if you're exceeding the cap, you're probably buying too much klocki than whats good for you.
Also, when sets are retired from their display cases, they're usually handed out to employees.

Also, twice a month there are mystery shops, which is where LEGO sends in a person disguised as a regular customer and later puts up reviews based on how we were tending the store.

>>6184685
If you don't go to the drug screening in time/fail the test, you're blacklisted from becoming a future LEGO employee.

That's probably it. Heck, they had times when they had different voices for the Daleks which jarred with their classic EXTERMINATE. I'm sure if they called up Nicholas Briggs he would have been more than happy. He's been the Daleks and Cybermen in new Who, Big Finish audios, you name it. I'm sure he'd have gladly skyped in some dialogue, but it fits their films to just fake it. I mean why have the raptors talk? Why not, they just roll with it. Like having the Tom Hardy version of Bane's voice but making him ridiculously cheery and laid back.

For those interested I picked up new SW at TRU in southern CA today, Phantom II ($30) and the Krennic microfighter ($10). They also had Yoda's interceptor ($25), Scarif ($50), the A Wing ($43, why TRU tax for one set?), and the Rebel battle pack (forgot to check price).

The Phantom was already in the system, Krennic's micro wasn't. The manager said all sets should be in the system--I guess the Lego brand rep yelled at them for not putting them out when he saw them in the back, even though they're streetdated March 1. Anybody know if they're on shelves at Lego stores yet?

Articulation is pretty eh.
All 4 legs are on those large ratchety technic joints used in AT-AT and AT-ST legs.
The front legs are forever slightly spread apart, but you do have those extendo- legs so theres that.
Any alterations to make the legs more posable would have to be extensive, plus strong enough to support the body. So really the best looking pose you can do is the one in the picture there, and that's pretty much it.

But hey, it comes with a cool Poison Ivy.

I was happy enough this time around that it was easy to get the most important characters in the cheapest sets. Batman and Joker in the balloon escape, Robin and Batgirl (bonus Catwoman) in the cycle case set. Of course if you want a particular variation or, say, Harley in her Smylex outfit then yeah you got to shell out more.

It's not as bad as TLM with Benny in his spaceship or the Sea Cow prior to the double decker couch set. I guess there's still arguing whether Benny was all that major a character, or wondering why people don't just bricklink him if they want him so bad.

In another 2-3 years, if it even takes that long, it will be legal at the federal level or at least decriminalized. Right now if someone has their med card for it they CAN NOT be screened out via a drug test for THC and denied a chance for a job provided they put it down on their application.

Now granted, there are exceptions to the rule, IE Federal Jobs, Teachers, Law Enforcement, Fire, etc. But if someone takes a drug test and fails because they smoked 3 weeks ago and is denied a job at a retail store they have a legit case. The feds/gov won't do anything about it and hence have kicked it down to the local state level. Heard in a local court the company will lose. Now granted, It's a huge waste of time but it has happened.

So "Moral Requirement"???? Nah I don't think that has anything to do with it.

>>6184913
Agreed Completely...
I would rather work with a guy that gets a little high on a Friday night to chill out then someone that takes his first drink at 9AM just to get through till noon. Just because one is legal and the other isn't doesn't make it any more right.

They can, though, because as I already mentioned, it's still illegal at the federal level. They won't have a legit legal case, because they know it wouldn't hold up at any of the higher courts.

They don't want "stoners" working in a family friendly environment and dealing with kids. Like it or not that is reality.

There are places to this day that will not hire someone with visible arm tattoos even if there is no rule against it. If you write down you have been convicted of a crime, your application literally goes into the trash.

The stigma surrounding drugs will last long after it is still legal. You don't have to like it, but you're stupid if you cannot acknowledge it.

Ok /lg/ I'd like to build a modular moc that will fit into my town. I've built the front of a small brick shop and used a sticker lying around to name this business "Constitution". Eventually I'll build an apartment on the next floor up and put in another premises next to it.

Originally I'd planned to make a small, old style bar, hence the name but I'd like your opinions on what else would work. Ideas?

It's the whole Silver Age-Iron Age rift.

Characters that were introduced in the Silver Age were understood by the creators to be silly, but in-universe characters like Polka-Dot Man were treated as legitimate villains.

Then after the Iron Age began and Batman stories became more grounded and realistic, the bat-gloves came off and it was more acceptable for Batman to directly acknowledge how ridiculous some of his villains were.

>>

Ridiculously expensive, especially when compared to US prices. 13USD sets like that BVS rooftop battle would be 1300PHP, the 10USD Nexo Battle Suits are 900PHP..

It gets crazier the higher up you get. The TLBM Batmobile is 60 dollars, right? 6050 pesos.

CMFs have stayed in the 250PHP range for a while now, which as alright. However the Batman series prought the price up to 300, which is worrisome.

Nowadays I get most of my non-CMF sets from my LUG.

So, uh, Vader's TIE and A-wing is half off on a store here. Is it worth that?

I like Vader's TIE and most of the minifigs, but the A-wing just doesn't tickle my fancy (especially with the new one, but that's WAY too expensive for what it is) and I'm not a huge fan of the Rebels main cast. Import taxes, politics, etc. Plus Lego sets their prices for each country based on what they think people there will be willing to pay, so rich countries have higher prices than poor countries (when you factor out all the other stuff like taxes).

Another not that anon (you think you're talking to?), but personally I don't really like most of the animal heads. I find them mostly useful for "dressing up" figs around Halloween like they're trick or treating.

HOWEVER, some of the heads under the helmet, haha, those are great. Some real potential in these fucked up expressions. I'm glad they actually made the faces too and didn't just include eyes to line up with the animal "hat" and call it a day.

The image is pretty small, but it LOOKS like the silver ones.

It's possible that this was something that was released through B&P, etc. I seem to remember one other piece existing in a certain color despite not being in any sets. They're pretty cheap, so it wouldn't hurt to order one just to find out.
