Could be worse, we could have nothing.

If Kong / Pac Rim / Giant Movie monster movies get more popular, then lego will likely jump on, hero factory style. If Lanard wasn't making toys, that would be a sign we're father, rather than closer to it.

Would it be far-fetched for Nintendo characters to be added to Lego Dimensions? Mega Blox already has the license, so...

I want to remove the facial hair to make a solid snake figure. The bandana is perfect.

Actually since you said you wanted the soul patch removed too, make that a four-stage process.

I would start with a piece of tape covering the mouth and use a swab to remove the top portion of the mustache. Once you get that removed, use two pieces to cover the mouth and eye, remove one side, then reverse the placement of the tape and remove the other section.

Finally you would use one more piece to take out the chinstache, although if you were confident in your ability to cut a straight line, you could instead cut the tape to make it more narrow and remove the chin hairs and top section of mustache during Stage One.

The biggest thing you need to worry about is that some printing does not have very good surface sealant on it, and the tape can pull the printing off of the head when you remove it. Lately I've been running the piece under very hot water after I'm done, and just let the water pressure and heat remove the tape's adhesion to the piece. Seems to work, or at least I haven't had any problems with it removing print since I started doing it.

Depending on the placement of printing, this Brasso method of heresy might be less effective than just using a pencil eraser, but in situations like this where you've got a lot of printed elements in a tight cluster, I think the Brasso method is better because you don't have to scrub as hard and you don't end up inadvertently pushing up the edge of the tape and removing the printing that it was supposed to protect.

No prob anon

Just be careful and go very slowly when you're putting the tape on, to make sure it's exactly where you want it so you don't have to re-do it and risk pulling the printing off.
>>
>>6177630
>we'll never, EVER get the minifig Sauron from Dimensions

>>
>>6177506
Was my favorite as a kid. Still my favorite. Have them all, save the tiny promotional ones.
>>
>>6177726
I've heard it's good, but not great

I think in particular the story packs didn't sell as well as they hoped, probably because of the high price compared to everything else. Lego Batman Movie is around 100 pieces less than all the other story packs, and it had several discounts before release in the US that brought it down to 30 bucks or cheaper
>>
>>6177630
I'm still angry that Jackson took 'The Eye of Sauron' literally.
>>
>>6177838
Why

It's a good visual
>>
>>6177841
Because it just looks silly.
>>
>>6177843
It's a fantasy movie, it is not limited by realism.
>>
>>6177843
It looks cool and threatening, and adds a visual cue for infiltrating Mordor

There are a lot worse changes to harp over than that one. Or just complain about The Hobbit in general and see how much better LOTR is in comparison
>>
>>6177846
See, I don't think it looks threatening. Something about it looks off, possibly the pupil being too large.

I don't dislike the LoTR films. I fucking love them. I just dislike that one change. And Galadriel's ludicrous freakout, but whatever.
>>
>>6177591
Rumor is Star Vs. is considered for year 3.

If that's the case, then the Disney seal is broken and Marvel's chances go up considerably.
>>
>>6177854
Well I never had a problem with it, IDK

And I can't blame them for using it in Lego Batman, it was pretty creative
>>
>>6177827
I get that LEGO is expensive, but I can't help but shake the feeling that if fun packs were five bucks, Team packs were ten, levels were 15, and story packs were 30, sales would be a lot more brisk.
>>
>>6177861
Yeah I usually can't justify $15 for a fun pack. I mean MAYBE if it was two characters but one character and a car? I get the vehicles are way cheaper to make but damn, no one gives a fuck about getting Superman's vehicle. He can fucking fly

So far I've gotten everything I can on sale. Just picked up 6 fun packs for $4 each

>She lifted up her hand and from the ring that she wore there issued a great light that illuminated her alone and left all else dark. She stood before Frodo seeming now tall beyond measurement, and beautiful beyond enduring, terrible and worshipful. Then she let her hand fall, and the light faded, and suddenly she laughed again, and lo! she was shrunken: a slender elf-woman, clad in simple white, whose gentle voice was soft and sad.

Key word is seeming. It's what Frodo saw in his mind. It doesn't say the color was inverted and she sounded like someone fooling around in Audacity.

Bar to restrict movement to one axis, mixel joint to make the connection more stable

I pined after the Egyptian sets, but I wasn't allowed to get Lego anymore beyond the bi-plane set as my last send off. After some low quality themes, it was a fresh new setting. I especially wanted a mummy with one of the rubies. Everything after that was my dark age until /toy/ was created and I saw the cool stuff Lego was putting out with Fantasy era castle. I didn't actually buy a set until Atlantis though.

Kinda going off on a tangent here, but I am so tired of this in onscreen fights. The villain has his prey in his grasp, ready to deliver the killing blow or shoot him in the head or whatever, but nah, let's just toss him around instead. Let him live a little longer. Give him a chance to recover or get away or form a plan.

I mean, I know it's necessary so the hero can survive, and it helps extend fight scenes and shit, but like, damn. It just takes me right out of the moment, yknow? Like how fucking dumb are you. Stop throwing him around and just do what you came here to do.

http://www.brothers-brick.com/lego-glossary/#Parts%20Monkey

Don't post if you're just going to spread misinformation. Just makes you seem stupid.
"Illegal Connections" was not memed into something, it's one of the oldest terms used by Afols. Also the LEGO Company always follows these guidelines, infact the set designers have to sit together with a QC Team which checks the model for Illegal Connections.

Illegal connections do also apply to Mocs, however most Afols choose to ignore them in favor of more possible, albeit unstable connections.

I use to be a Target worker and between being cashier and stocking toys I can assure you there are kids that lose their shit and ask for those sets. Some get them right then and there but most sell (and sell well) during hoidlays. That said you don't see a lot of older collectors go for much other than Creator/classic sets and whatever is clearnced sets. I imagine they are like me and half the fun us making things you want improv style.

I was at the Lego store the other day, and a father and son came in. I don't think he was an AFOL because he was confused as to how his VIP card was supposed to work, and he was only buying one set for his son, but when the cashier scanned his card, he had $110 in credit.

It's not even about being spoiled. Some parents just have the cash to get whatever their kids want. Just like some parents can't afford Lego at all.

There's no reason that "spoiled" needs to be calibrated exactly to middle class American levels of wealth

So I haven't following the Lego scene whatsoever ever since I was a kid, but watched a couple of videos on the new Batman stuff since I saw the movie and want the joker lowrider.

On the subject of Batgirl's cowl, it would've made a lot more sense if Batman's was at eye level, just with the white band across his eyes for one face, and the reverse face with regular eyes for an unmasked face. Did they not have double-printing when the Batman theme was introduced?

That wasn't the point. My point was that people complain about over 1000 piece sets being geared towards children, as if children aren't given these sets constantly.
I don't care if the children are spoiled or not. I also don't think that having too many sets makes you spoiled.
You latched on to my colorful language.
>>
How did Lego drop the ball on this series so hard?
>>
>>6179333
Exactly. These anons who complain about $100+ sets being for kids don't realize that many children get these on a regular basis. Just because some of us didn't have generous or wealthy parents doesn't mean that there aren't many who do.

I fucking wish CCBS was "bionicle-like"

Bionicle parts were just stylized technic liftarms and what not.

CCBS is a gimmicky system with way too small a parts library to make anything other than generic humanoid figures, and requires adding bulk to add detail, making thin but detailed MOCs nearly impossible with legal techniques.

Plus everything being ball sockets makes it even less compatible with system.

Both, the two terms refer to different things.

CCBS is the building system first put into place in 2011 Hero Factory, with those bones and shells that remain in use in today's Star Wars Buildable Figures (and the discontinued BIONICLE G2).

Constraction refers to all of LEGO's buildable action figures, from Throwbots/Slizers in the 90s, to both generations of BIONICLE, including even Knight's Kingdom II and Galidor.

>How to even use that though?
Most modern smart phones have NFC technologies inside them. I'm not an expert, but this isn't overly complicated. Using an app (NFC Tools on android) and a phone you can scan the toy tag and see the data on it. I don't own the game either so I can't tell you what is suppose to be on it. After you scan it the app has a tab for writing onto that tag. I just threw some text on it and then hit write. Then you touch the tag to the phone's NFC and boom, it's got a tiny bit of text. I only have the season one or whatever blue tags, but the blank one for the vehicle says it has 137 Bytes free. My Benny's tag says 137 bytes as well, but has 19 already used. So, you can store a few URLs or maybe a grocery list on them? I think some phones can run commands from NFC tags. If any of the Lego robotic sets can read NFC it could be used to make a physical storage for them. Maybe? This how I used mine.
>>
>>6179817
You can't put anything on the character tags in the game, they just say which character it is

The vehicle tags are all blank and interchangeable though, you have to tell the game which vehicle you want on the tag and then you can also purchase and save a bunch of vehicle upgrades (there's like 45 options)

>>
>>6179833
Yeah it seems they're all the same tech but the character tags have painted logos and default data stored on them so they're not meant to be rewritten, at least for the game purposes.

That's not so bad. Maybe you can add the character's data to blank ones to cheat the game.

It looks like my phone asks me what to do with the ones I put URLs on. AKA "open in chrome?" prompts. You could store links to all your favorite lewd Lego pictures and decorate the tags accordingly. Then tap and fap. Neat.

Nigga, what are you smoking? We've gotten increasingly cooler sets for non-licensed themes over the past few years. Look at this and compare it to shit sets like that Captain America jet with Miss Diverse Stretch Armstrong or some of the Star Wars sets that barely give you a background like that Takodana set. Pretty much this.

ALMOST ALL superhero/licensed sets are total shit. Especially Marvel sets. All those crappy Avengers/Spiderman sets are awful
And the only people who care about start wars (which is just a bunch of grey blocks with pew-pew features) are some SW-dorks and normies.
The only license series that is cool is current Lego Batman AND its not technically a DC-creation because you can see Lego had tons of fun with its style and design, bringing cool vehicles and obscure villains.

Same about other stuff like Ninjago.
Im guessing that faggot is some normie who suddenly "came back to Lego" after watching Batman movie and then he looked ad City sets which is boring and thought that this is the situation with lego-stuff nowadays.

the rest of that set is still shit.
Also this is technically not the Marvel/superhero idea.
This literally just Legon minifigure done in bigger size. The ant-man used just as a "skin".
You can do exact same build in different color and it still will be just a giant minifigure. Not an ant man anymore.

So no - this is not the Marvel's win.

2017 Star Wars US prices

A-wing - (358 pieces) $40
Phantom - (269 p) $30
Battle on Scarif (419 p) $50
Y-wing (691 p) $60

the only one fairly priced is the Y-wing... also some are coming out feb 17 and some are coming out march 1 but all of them have been found in some toys r us stores, why are releases being split up?
Battle packs are now 14.99 instead of 12.99

I think the summer battle packs will be like 15.99 US, 17.99 CAD and probably like 20 euro, which makes them not really inexpensive sets anymore

The real question is why is Lego increasing set costs across the board? it was already on the expensive side (like I really want a tie striker but its 90 dollars canadian and thats outrageous already) and most of my purchases lately have actually been battle packs because theyre a decent price for a small build+4 figs, but theyre gunna throw that out the window.

What happened to make lego want to price increase? new CEO? investors want more money? are they investing in better plastic?

Just put together the sandcrawler (was a valentines day gift), and I'll say it was a fun build and great set. I love all the droids.

Funny question - has anyone ever setup some basic rules for a lego table top game? I've seen some very generic ones, brik heroes (or some shit), but it wasn't specific to Star Wars (which 95% of my lego sets are).

I was thinking a basic D6 / D10 rules, make it co-op (for the kids)... anyone know of something like this, for Lego SW?

FWIW my wife buys me logo shit from time to time. I think she sees it as something we'll share with our kids one day....

As for gifts, we've recently stopped buying each other bullshit on holidays / birthdays, and have decided to buy 1 original piece of artwork on these occasions. Admittedly, this is not an original idea, and a good friend of mine, and his wife do this, I thought it was cool, and now my wife and I do it.

I think the million in one thing comes from having this in my life, and still being on 4chan. Not just having a wife whom buys be things I enjoy... that should part of any healthy relationship. (well not buying shit, but knowing what each other likes....)

How often do you engage in cuckoldry fetishism

I mean I am serious
You claim to have a wife that buys toys for you, knowing how the brain of a woman works, she must see you as weak, possibly as less of a man, yes?

I always wondered this about JANG, too. He spends a huge amount of his days, and at least three rooms of his house, dedicated to toys. From reading some stories online, this is the exact circumstance where cuckoldry creeps up on the couple

Some people have discovered the secret of fun being cool.

Too many people think the only hobbies for Men can only be what is essentially an additional job, like hunting, fishing, fixing cars, armchair politics, history buffing, maybe playing video games (but only "badass" realistic military simulators that you have to play while wearing a frown).

Hobbies that are creative or simply enjoyable for their own sake seem to have a stigma that they're only for children or childish adults.

People who buy into that are being controlled by others' insecurities. Like what you like.

m8 that looks like damage from leaky batteries, bin it
>>
>>6180905
I could be wrong, but that looks like corrosive damage from the battery acid
>>
>>6180907
Someone send this to Lego, it's gold.
>>
>>6180905
That's battery liquid!!!
I think the brick itself may be recoverable, but I don't have much hope for the circuits inside it.

>pencil missles

I was hoping you'd do something like that. Nice job!
>>
>>6180905
Don't toss it. Hot water + baking soda (not baking powder) + toothbrush. Take your time and wear gloves 'cause it's not good for your skin. It's not immediately deadly, but strong acid is a key component in the crud, so it can cause mild skin damage.

As long as the batteries are out of the thing, you can even use the baking soda water on the PCB inside; just make sure it's completely dry before powering it back up.

Gimli: It's true that you don't see many Dwarf-women. And in fact, they are so alike in voice and appearance, that they are often mistaken for Dwarf-men.
Aragorn: (whispering to Eowyn) It's the beards.
Gimli: And this in turn has given rise to the belief that there are no Dwarf-women, and that Dwarves just sprung out of holes in the ground!
(Eowyn laughs)
Gimli: Which is, of course, ridiculous.

Broke up with super supportive Lego gf maybe 6 months ago, just now getting back into dating and realising how much Lego I have on display.
It's not so much about "being secure with yourself" as it is objectively weird to bring a grill home to a room littered with children's construction toys.
>>
>>6180570
Being manly is not doing masculine stuff, it is about being confident in what you are doing, even if it is playing with plastic bricks, if you like it so be it, nothing to be ashamed of... don't let women shape you and make your opinions... i'm tired of cucks asking where do you hide your lego in lego threads... nigga why would i hide it like an insecure bitch

More like objectively weird to have your place too littered with any one hobby thing, whether it's manga, guns, fishing stuff, cars, DVDs, video games, computers, audio/video stuff, etc.

I'm all about being honest about your hobbies and stuff, but at the same time, you don't want to give the impression that it has overrun your life.

I've had that happen a few times, when I looked around and thought "Look at all this shit!" Mostly in the living area of my apartment. I just took inventory and cut back to the things I loved most or was most proud of, and moved the other things to other places where I could still look at them.

That looks so much fun. Instantly recognisable, would buy if it was a set just for the novelty-factor.
While I love oversized engines as much as the next manchild, the more sleek 60's look might be more fitting imo. The first iterations reminded me of the FAB-1 from thunderbirds for example. Eraser is a classy man after all, he wears a suit and everything!

That's really neat anon, i remember your brainfart. Have you tested if it rolls well? I was thinking about picking up that style of tracks but not sure how well they roll. I have two sets of segmented hard abs tracks, but was a bit dissapointed they needed helper wheels to function.
Does anyone know if the rubber stoppers that came with the fortrex-tracks remedy this?

I don't agree with this. I've never had a lot of money, and for most of my adult life I've been struggling in one way or another and I sure as hell don't have a shredded six pack.

On the other hand, I get that for some people confidence is an alien concept. I was that way through high school. In college, you could say I gained confidence. But you could also argue that I just gave up. I gave up trying to accommodate my idea of what other people might think of me.

If you take that road, just make sure you don't give up bathing and washing your clothes. You don't have to care what people think, but that doesn't mean don't take care of yourself.

The one one the left is named Pif.

The one on the right is a POW who spent decades at the bottom of the toybox but now has a waifu and a cool group of friends he goes on road trips with.

Hollow spheres are pretty difficult. Solid ones are a good deal easier; I've seen generators online to make instructions for arbitrarily-sized spheres.
