Well it's 50/50 shot now since Medicos already announced him and D4C before even one SBR SAS got out to release. The other 50% will focus on Medicos pushing out the absolute essentials then deciding on the rest instead of waiting until the end for a villain release.

Though at this point I can already see SBR anons being pissed off non-stop if we don't get Diego, Lucy, and a few others for future threads if Medicos opted for the first option and ending SBR on a super short note. Shit sucks but I hope they can move on since Medicos nowadays are making odd moves.

I really don't know what to expect from the 1st, SBR characters don't really have go to colors like some others, Giorno, Bruno, Jotaro and Kakyoin for example.
Looking at SO line we can see stuff like Anasui, Kiss and Jolyne, so I hope Medicos keeps this adventurous spirit, but chooses wisely, I don't really like any of the colors for those 3.

I recently watched tokyo ghoul and was quite impressed by it. How are the SAS figures of tokyo ghoul? They seem stupidly expensive so before i drop my money on them I'd love to hear some opinions on them.

Kaneki and Juuzou are your best bets since they hold up average SAS articulation (Double jointed limbs, waist rotation and so on) and paint apps are okay overall but some shots of Juuzou aren't the best when they show off his screaming face.

There are reviews in the OP that showcase on what you can expect from them and the reviewer does test the posing potential of a figure pretty well in my eyes. However Shuu felt like Medico's worst effort since his suit design doesn't allow for much and his colors are garish in my opinion and doesn't compliment or contrast in any good way.

How good are Dio and The World? I'm thinking of getting them just to have more than 2 antagonists facing off against 10+ protagonists.

This guy's right. I got all three to support the line and hope they'll make more, but Tsukiyama is so lazy and bad even I almost regret it. His kagune was stupidly engineered, and his suit is hard-plastic, so it hinders articulation a lot. It also doesn't look particularly good.

Juuzou is a bit better, but out of scale with Kaneki and Tsukiyama (who are in the right scale), and his weapon seems to be fairly fragile, so watch out with that. His leg articulation isn't very great either, but he'll do.

Kaneki is the only one that is S.A.S. quality, which suits me just fine since he's the only one I really wanted. Paint apps are fairly good, the two heads are cool, and if you know how to fiddle with it, the articulation is good, too. He, however, has very few accessories/extra parts so feels a bit pricy for what you get.

Also, you have to use a large extra peg to pin his kagune to his back, which is kinda ugly if you don't put him on a stand anyway. Wish they had found a better way to do that, but overall, Kaneki is a good release.

Tokyo Ghoul will probably not be getting any more new releases. They're moving on to Drifters and RWBY, where they'll probably make the three "main" characters of Drifters and the four of RWBY, before moving on to something else. Also, Steelball Run releases, of course.

Not sure what other licenses Medicos is picking up for the S.A.S. line (if any), but I think Parasyte, Ajin and Tokyo Ghoul are behind them for good.

The World is fine overall even though the hip pieces can't allow a real proper high kick like he does in the final scene between him and Star Platinum. Also there's a QC issue with the eye placement that varies from small and not too noticable to full on "Za Wold" mode positioning. Depending on the Dio you're aiming at Awakened post-Joseph Dio or original P3 Dio then I'll break them down.

Regular Dio is fine but don't put him up near Part 1 SAS since he looks dramatically out of scale. He's a fun SAS given all the accessories but be mindful on which version you get since reissues of Dio and the original have different paint shadings of yellow I believe and some anon mentioned the smirking face removes a line or two.

Dio Black ver. is the one you have to be wary the most on since he has a bad batch of figures that have little QC given to them and have a bevy of issues but you can roll a good one if you're lucky.

WF Dio seems good all around but he is a beefier package due to the papercraft coffin so expect a bump in shipping.

Awakened Dio is balanced with his 1st release with a Wryyyy soundplate and the 2nd colorway gets an SAS merch book and a DVD for the papercraft Roadroller [Sold Separately]. He's okay but if you bend his torso far enough he has a nasty gap in the back you want to hide.

Something similar to these colors are probably what Gyro will get, and Johnny has his default ASB colors sealed in since they're white/blue, and Medicos has done Blue of each protagonist as their first or second. Maybe give him blonde hair since blonde = american for JP.

He should either use a pin vise to stick a pin inside it and superglue together, if a pin can actually be inserted firmly enough.

plastic epoxy. Sticks everything together like it was made of steel.

PVC won't hold shit. Same with just superglue. Or even those glues that fuse plastic together. You'll need to pin the rods together to enforce the hold.
Epoxys like pic are extremely strong, but even then, you'll want to be a little thick around the broken area, to enforce the hold. Just make sure it doesn't obstruct the joint in any way, or you're fucked, since it'll harden like concrete.

It's because of really shitty design choices and QC issues. Star Plat IV's neck joint is stupidly thin, which is bad enough on its own. but then you find out that the black paint on the hair has a tendency to fuse with the ball peg. So it's basically a game of how much stress can your shitty joint take and how fused is the joint thanks to the stupid black paint.

I got unusually lucky. I know a lot of other people didn't.

This decision pissed me off so bad that I am still fuming about it and refuse to order any SAS in the future. I will pick up a few old releases i'm missing and then I am fucking done with them. Their prices getting way out of hand already had me questioning my support for the line but this sent me over the edge and then some.

On a secondary note...fuck them for never re-releasing alt colors of popular/rare releases people clearly want. Fuck them for giving those releases exclusive accessories (see: smiling Josuke face). Finally, fuck them for abandoning JoJo to do a bunch of mediocre shit they don't even care about. The Drifters look phoned in, the Tokyo Ghoul stuff was mediocre, the Parasyte was ok but had a few lame restrctions and the Ajin was the only true awesome release.

The RWBY will probably be expensive and lame too, not to mention taking up 4 slots.

Who knows. They operated with 1st colorways being always the reissue idea and what's odder is the Swarovarski SAS are typically super common colorways you can always find easily and for cheap. There seems to be an aversion to the hot selling colors if a particular character gets that many variant releases if it isn't WF and whatnot.

My own theory is some higher up feels the more popular colorways should be 1st runs only and leave them at that and collectors have to scavenge 2nd hand for those.

I like how a few covers with crazy colors apparently invalidates hundreds of pages of colorized manga and the anime run. The anime/manga colors will 100% be in highest demand and should get the most reissues. I like the crazy colors too, but by only reissuing the first colorway Medicos is shooting themselves in the foot for no reason. We wouldn't have dumb canon color debates if they would just release the most popular colors. A pink KQ reissue during the climax of the anime would have sold out instantly.

It's just a tired argument at this point against Medicos. They obviously don't plan to reissue more popular colors and believe only SAS 1st's should be the primary choice.

If anything I want them to actually re-imagine their articulation schemes and try to retool SAS's but I know they aren't GSC or Bandai but it would be better than the same reissue for us to complain about for threads on end. If Bandai wasn't so dominant in Kinnikumen I'll glady see a proper 2017 revival of this series but Medicos is aiming to find more lesser known niche's that other companies haven't tried commiting fully.

In an odd way they are sort of like Kaiyodo/Revoltech in terms of IP choices.

The colors decided on for the anime and colored manga aren't drawn by Araki and definitely isn't him saying "yeah that's the canon colors for the characters". It's Araki basically just giving his stamp of approval saying "yeah that looks fine go for it". Araki has stated many times before there's no canon colors and he just likes drawing his characters in whatever looks good. So yes, some colorways have been popularized by the anime and manga but there are no canon colors precisely because Araki himself has stated it and because he enjoys drawing them in so many crazy colors and ultimately it's up to Medicos what colors they make 1st and 2nd which for the most part have been good decisions as the 1st colors are usually the colors from the color manga to make autists happy.

tl;dr, No canon colors. If you're mad about paying latecomers tax on popular colors then that's your own fault for either getting into the line too late or not having enough money

Good thing you like it, that's the way it is.
Color manga is something the publisher does for digital releases, not Araki's vision by any means.
Only thing that comes to mind regarding Medicos and the color manga is Fugo's white hair and red suit combo, which I've never seen together in a Araki illustration, only in Shueisha's coloring.
The anime didn't even exist when the line started, not to mention that it's just a glorified advertising for the manga, I don't really see the point of bringing it up.
I do agree Medicos should reissue recolors tho, it's pretty dumb of them not to do so, I just think you got your reasonings backwards.

Well they are locked behind a lottery system and you still need to pay for it even if you win though you avoid the exorbitant aftermarket they go for. Even if they did the popular colorways or even a custom/alt from other artworks then you may have to deal with higher rarity by collectors withholding them or a higher pricetag post-WF but I guess that's the sort of allure of it to me. It's either you get lucky and have the cash on hand or know someone to know someone that can hook you up on a decent price.

Medicos is just plain odd seeing how they are a company that does this well with recolors for an IP that has a very varied collection of characters in outfits and colors in artwork.

There are two things I collect, JoJo SAS and Kinnikuman Figuarts. While that Soldier looks super sweet, especially the camo, Medicos would have to really, really step up their game.

Really standard but I remember one anon mentioning one of those antenna pieces on Kiss's head was bent but I wasn't sure if that was out the box or slight mis-handling, granted they look delicate anyway for being plastic sticks on top of her head.

Most people seem to ignore or shit on Kiss for the poor but understandable choice of colorway as a 1st release. Also the really bizarre choice of Medicos introducing a sort of "plug piece" to put into Kiss's back to show off the sticker but not choose the strongest aspects of Kiss which is her ability to replicate objects touched by the stickers (or at least what I remember off the top of my head).

Hermes seemed to go undetected which explains the lack of shots but I do know some anon's did purchase her.

I found it generally decent but it had shortcomings like no F.F and also no Weather Report (Stand SAS). Kiss has her own drawbacks as noted above and the real standout oddly enough was Annasui and Diver Down with those effect parts.

Jolyne must've had a bad batch of poorly attached elbow pieces to have caused "Rocket Elbows" to be a thing but she's decent but the string effects could've been improved upon. Her WF colorway and general package is a letdown though which feels like a general release versus an exclusive. Another noteworthy SAS was White Snake who was surprisingly big and the GACT printing is actually decent given the coverage and details. CD's on both Pucci and White Snake do require you to use stickers but they are serviceable.

Pucci is okay, Medicos had a rather stiff wall to climb to deal with his outfit and the hinged areas of the robe don't lend to a lot of good poses when they are spread out. Also no "regular" head but his post-green baby head was chosen for some reason (With SO done we can't expect the future forms of his stand now). So it's a really odd decision if we can't see a Made in Heaven SAS or SL to compliment his look.

Weather Report is decent but again, no WR stand but his clouds and a DD leg to swap, Hermes was noted in an above post. Stone Free is actually good in my book for SAS quality though I didn't get lucky with the qc since her robo-head sculpt has some deformity. Also the default head sculpt is ass in my opinion.

Perhaps I should get their stands, but still, fugo and PH together are so cheap, and narancia is too. Eh, I just feel that too much dark blue makes stuff looks a bit flat, same reason I still don't own a Joseph, and the green zippers are not helping. I'm hoping they reveal more when Gyro gets his official website announcement but depending how past WF SAS reveals has shown off accessories this could be just it.
