New Rumours: Wave 5 of Titans Returns Deluxes.
>>6175684
Misfire from Triggerhappy.
Bah, I'll still get it and I like the Triggerhappy mold, but I would be happier if it was from the Topspin mold.
Still hoping for full figures of Apeface, Snapdragon, Dreadwind, and/or Spinister at Toy Fair.
>>6175703
I want to see the Autobot Targetmasters. I really want a new Pointblank.
Also:
>Misfire's could a Triggerhappy retool
Weird, I'd make more sense to use Topspin.
If anybody wants to join the /TFG/ Discord Group, here's your chance,

>>6175703
The chances are really low for Horrorcons. I'm not discounting the rumors being false, but it seems like the latter end of CW and how they spread their resources. The fifth and sixth waves of TR are just going to be the recolors and remolds and if it's anything like CW we'll probably have a bunch of new legends molds, a brand new deluxe and a new voyager mold before they transition into Power of Primes toyline.
>>6175718
I'd be nice if they kept releasing the remaining combiners once a year, with every year having one wave dedicated to them.
>>6175718
Unfortunately I have to agree. I think Wave 5 of Voyagers is just going to end up being Blitzwing and Octane, and there might be one new mold for Wave 6, and it'll be released individually like Broadside. But for the most part I think we're mostly done with Titan Returns. At least it was a bit of a better run than Combiner Wars.
>>6175724
We'll have to wait and see. CW had:
Silverbolt: ER Cyclonus, ER Scattershot
Optimus: ER Motormaster, MR Optimus (Battle Core)
Hot Spot: ER Onslaught
Sky Lynx
TR has:
Galvatron:
Sentinel: MR Astrotrain
Alpha Trion: ER (Broadside)
Optimus: Octane (possibly extensive retool to change the face, shoulders, and chest)
Megatron: Blitzwing (possibly extensive retool to change some weapons, chest, and face)
We already have 4 "Core" voyager molds like CW. Assuming wave 5 has Blitzwing and Octane, a similar number of new voyagers as well, and that's before wave 6.
>>6175759
Yeah but I still feel like I got more bang out of TR than CW. CW felt like I was just getting the same two waves for a whole year of ariealbots and stunticons with maybe some tweaks. Honestly too quickly I just found myself thinking "When will we get Bruticus so I can be done with this line?"
>>6175759
Forgot to add T30 for a fair comparison:
Springer: ER Sandstorm
Blitzwing: MR Doubledealer
Rhinox:
Whirl:
Roadbuster:
Skybite:
Brainstorm:
Same number of voyagers, but most of them were new molds, with the closest thing to a repaint being DD.
>>6175772
Due to the way they distributed the molds. TR has only repeated one mold so far between waves, CW used the truck mold 4 times across 3 waves, Silverbolt got used twice but it was in a row (Cyclonus being different helped). They desperately needed a fifth unique mold, and Sky-Lynx to come out sooner
>>6175759
>Sentinel: MR Astrotrain
I thought Sky Garry would be perfect for the mold, but he's a literal who outside of looking cool.
>>6175724
>mfw they retool all TR voyagers for Power of the Primes
>mfw they just remove the headmaster gimmick
>>6175915
>yfw they retool TR Galvatron with built-in head for PotP but only for platinum release
>>6175915
We're probably getting another Megatron in some form. They seem pretty adamant in having at least one Optimus, and Megatron per line.
>>6175925
I got tired of it and ended up doing it myself.
>>6175837
Maybe it could work with retooling, but they might deal with him whenever they decide to do a new Dai Atlas.
>>6175939
>No one's ever going to get the toys original face mask, make more of them using the original as a template, and sell them online.
>>6175939
>mutilating your toy
>wasting your time
>all to do something the toy does on it's own anyway just by pulling the head off and stuffing the minime into a place on the toy
>>6175948
What's with that head?
>>6175941
Seriously, it's depressing how we ended up with the piece of shit mask the toy comes with.
>>6175952
>>6175950
Funpub.
>>6175955
This can't be the worst sculpt, right?
IIRC there was a coin-thin Ravage head, but I could be wrong.
>>6175948
All the original functionality remains except the awful looking pop up mask. You can't even see the cut marks except /during/ transformation. Chill.
>>6175955
That's radicon-tier bullshit
>>6175959
No. Fuck you for ruining a toy.
Fuck you and your bullshit.
Go back to tfw you shill.
>>6175939
Much better. How it should've been in the first place.
>>6175964
>Ruin a toy
>By adding discrete functionality that hinders nothing and removes a terrible feature
>>6175982
I can think of 2 reasons:
-Mask didn't work well with other TM, since it looks like it "locks" into grooves on the Galvatron TM.
-The mask used more plastic that the budged allowed, forcing them to rework it into a smaller mask.
BTW, that mask is the reason the chest is so large in the first place, you can find the pic online.
>>6175992
>>6175683
>fur AND metal
this is why i hate beast machines
>>6176005
Because they apparently wanted earlier figures to be able to be displayed looking normal, or wearing a mask/helmet, newer leaders can only be displayed with their helmets on.
>>6176005
i dunno, but it seems like we tend to see that with the later figures on down the line. Like there are smarter design decisions made as the gimmick becomes more commonplace.
It just kind of reminds of the Cybertron line with the cyber keys, how over time the gimmicks became more elaborate as well as having places to store the cyber key when not in use.
i'm drunk whatever
>>6175990
>Mask didn't work well with other TM, since it looks like it "locks" into grooves on the Galvatron TM.
I'd be inclined to believe you, but the offical figure already keeps that same problem almost. No other head will fit as good with the mask as Nucleon will, it's either go with him, or the mask already looks worse.
>>6175684
Wibdblade from Highbrow is...odd. Very odd.
>>6175952
It functions better, but it looks like shit.
>>6175939
With a little more work I think you could have retained a titan master port too.
Unless you're one of the faggots who act5ually hates the TR headmasters
>>6175688
Good thing both molds are sex
>>6170837
It's not about the sexy. It's about acknowledging sexual dimorphism. I want my Cybertronians to be humanlike sexual dimorphism. I do not want them to have stupid facepaint with shitty names because MUH FEMININITY.
>>6175721
See, I love what Prime Wars is doing. They're reintroducing old gimmicks across a whole line that used to be proprietary to a small selection/single team within a toy line that normally consists of standard figures. Having a line dedicated to each gimmick builds up a base of figures for consumers to work with and allows them to perfect and innovate upon a gimmick. Now that we have perfect system for combiners and headmasters (and hopefully whatever gimmick PotP goes with), they can sprinkle those in to whatever comes after PotP, unless their game plan is to dedicate each line to a single gimmick from here on out.
>>6176207
This. However, I'd like to see more monstrous/less humanoid robot modes, too, like lugnut, sky lynx, the rid cons, etc. I'd also love bots being able to partially transform to access features of their altmodes, like wheel/wing limbs, beast limbs, armored torsos, beast heads, etc. We occasionally get this, but it's rarely intentional (tho third party is getting good at it).
>>6176198
The titan master port works just fine.
So, theories for late Titan Return and then Power of the Primes?
Titan Return Retool:
-Overlord (Sky Shadow being a pretool)
-Octane (Voyager Prime)
-Blitzwing (Voyager Megatron)
-Twin Twist (Topspin)
Potential New Molds:
-Darkwind and Dreadwing (Possibly as semi-retool of Sky Shadow, where one remain the old jet and one is a jet who replace the tank, maybe? Or maybe merely as Deluxe?)
-Snapdragon
-Apeface (as a proper Voyager class)
Power of the Prime retool speculation:
-Vector Prime (As an extensive remold of Alpha Trion/Broadside, possibly without the Titan Master gimmick)
-Tidal Wave (Another Broadside retool)
-Megatronus/The Fallen (Heavy Galvatron retool?)
-Great Shot (Six Shot retool)
-Quickswitch (Again, Six Shot retool)
-Thunder Clash (CW Prime?)
Assuming Power of the Prime doesn't do Pretender as a gimmick, then perhaps one possibility is that Power of the Prime continue the Combiner and Titan Master gimmick, giving us the likes of Abominus and Predaking as well as entirely new figures. Possible figure include:
-Star Saber
-Deathsaurus
-Dai Atlas
-Big Bang
-Star Convoy(?)
-Sky Garry
-Grandus (would be nicely retro-compatible with Fortress Maximus)
-Abominus (New molds for components or maybe some retool of existing CW and TR stuff)
-Predaking (Same)
-Six Liner(?)
>>6176225
Tidal Wave was on the Titans Return leak that has become almost 100% true as a Broadside retool, same for Quickswitch as a Sixshot repaint and Delta Magnus, a blue repainted PM Prime.
>>6176225
>using the word pretool
Kill yourself.
>>6176225
>Assuming Power of the Prime doesn't do Pretender as a gimmick
It's supposedly utilizing a gimmick that has never been used in a Transformers toy line before.
>>6176308
But what could it be?
>>6175683
Not my photo, but someone in the Reprolabels Facebook group made Broadside's jet mode not look like hot garbage. No partsforming needed.
>>6176324
Shit I passed on Broadside this week. How did he achieve this?
>>6176311
Effort?
>>6176324
>>6176325
Comparing this to a shot of the official configuration, it looks like all he did was transform the legs differently. Go figure.
>>6176311
Considering the name, it could very well be a gimmick that allows any bot of the line to equip armor or enlarge them in some way for a "Prime" mode(like Hot Rod coming with parts to make Rodimus Prime, for instance)
Hopefully that's not the case, as it could potentially be very costly to otherwise good looking bot/vehicle modes.
>>6176331
Samefag here. If that's indeed the case, we could've gotten a preview of the opening wave in the form of the Power of the Primes vote. We could've been voting on which bot in Wave 1 would be the "official" new Prime(like in the comics)
This could also mean we get an official Bumblemus Prime.
>>6176331
Huh, you know, an armor gimmick COULD be interesting, as we already had heads, weapons and engines for the -masters type mini mechs and mini con to plug into robots but some sort of 'armor up' gimmick isn't really something we've seen line-wide. I'm not engineer so I have no idea how feasible this is and, frankly, it seem like it would only be worth it at the Voyager and Leader price point. Maybe the Legend-class bots could turn into some armor piece but then we'd get very garish looking robots covered in rainbow armor.
Unrelated: anyone know a good place to grab 5mm port weapons to arm my little toy robots?
>>6176331
I'd love it if it was something like Powermaster Prime, J-Decker, or Goldran. You could just make it so the connection to the armor is universal.
Legends would end up being compatible with the armors. The issue would be deluxes and voyagers.
>>6176383
>I'd love it if it was something like Powermaster Prime, J-Decker, or Goldran. You could just make it so the connection to the armor is universal.
Okay so, what if:
-Deluxe class are compatible with armor but come with no extra pieces. They can be used as stand alone figures too, obviously.
-Voyager and Leader are a deluxe-class figure with an armor piece/module that make them either Voyager or Deluxe.
>>6176388
>Voyager or Deluxe.
Derp meant 'either voyager or leader'.
>>6176393
What if:
Deluxes are normal figures, while voyagers split into pieces and combine with them.
>>6176403
Nah, because then the Voyagers are worthless on their own and it would be suicide for Hasbro to sell Voyager price point power ups unless said power ups at least are useable as toys in some way too.
>>6176407
They'd obviously have standard transformations, they won't end up as bricks like Wingsaber.
>>6176412
Is it doable from an engineering standpoint, however?
>>6176417
Not with these crackpots.
>>6176339
no way is it pinned, sentinel/astrotrain don't even have pinned wings.
>>6176297
tidal wave, quickswitch and magnus prime are all in a box set im pretty sure from what we've heard.
If I live in the state of Georgia what would be the best site to buy my transformers from?
>>6176470
Pretty much all of them? Shipping in the states is pretty cheap, or free (at least from what I've seen on many transformers sites).
>>6176470
kmart.com
>>6176474
Who would have the best selection of both old and new stuff? The only site I have bought from is BBTS. They don't really have much and navigating their site sucks ass and their "pre order ships at x month" are more like "whenever the fuck we feel like it". Toywiz's site is fantastic but their prices suck ass.
I really enjoy going to the store and finding something new but no one around me restocks... I just want my damn Sixshot.
>>6176329
3P's already have control of that gimmick.
>>6176324
Huh. I guess I now don't have a reason to actually despise the Alpha Trio mold for hindering Broadside's design and looking like shit at the same time
.
Is it really needed to change the direction of the fins, though? It seems to me like it's just a decision made by people whose taste is like 80 years behind of aircraft design.
>>6176482
kek, hardly.
>>6176324
Holy crap, this actually makes Broadside look reasonable! I wonder why this wasn't official when it's barely a step from the other form.Still passing because fuck stickers, but I might look into Takara's.
>>6176503
Even without stickers, Broadside seems to have many areas that are painted in sections that are prone to paint chipping.
>>6176503
>implying Takara gives a shit about a literal who such as Broadside
Holy shit Trigger Happy is great.
>>6176503
>inb4 it gets a hideous head without a mouthplate and takaratards buy it because it's accurate to the korean VHS cartoon version of the character
>>6176483
Flipping the fins is optional.
>>6176537
>They release the Hasbro head
>Cast in white plastic
>Only costs $40 plus tip along with a bunch of other heads you don't want
>>6176537
He still uses his visor/faceplate face in Headmasters, so he'll be the same.
>>6176560
desu I feel this selection of heads is kind of dull.
4 mouthplates three of which are too similar in design AND color scheme.
>>6176580
They're trying to release the American heads, which sadly do feel samey because most of them did use faceplates. The only weird thing about the set is that they're not including American Highbrow's face.
>>6176560
I wonder if they'll release another set with the Alpha Trion head.
>>6176560
Whos head is on the far right in your image?
>>6176619
Grimlock, over here he was called Clobber.
>>6176620
thanks
>>6176388
maybe develop the titan master's vehicles' armor/weapon modes and do away with the microfigure gimmick?
legends: microfigure/armor/weapon
deluxe: basic
voyager: two pack, deluxe + partner
leader: deluxe + two partners?
it could end up a bit like RID's minicon line, I guess
>>6176388
Soooo, Daigunder?
>>6176631
oh fuck I'd give my ass away for a line like daigunder.
>>6175683
This seems like such a cool set. I wish I was in the hobby back then. But now all we get are shit like clear plastic Orange Prime.
>>6176339
The fins are not pinned
The issue is the robot mode doesn't look good with the fins pointed down
T. A guy who took his tfers apart to remove the excessive sprue leftvover
>>6176810
Got a pic of the reversed fins in robot mode to compare with?
>>6176821
Unfortunately no image and the thing is in office
But you can imagine what it look like.
>>6176709
Dude I am right with you I'm always a slut for Daigunder.
TAKARA
WINS
AGAIN
>>6176388
They could do a Chug Star Saber and fully realized PMOP, really, the possibilities are almost endless
>>6176867
What? that slot has been there since hotspot.
>>6176867
Megatronia?
>>6176417
>>6176324
I want more pics of this.
In that configuration, the legs do not lock unto anything. It does not even lock together. Are the legs just hanging?
>>6176890
If alpha trion is any indication, the hips are tight enough to hold their position. I can shake this dude and his crotch will untab from the torso before the legs move.
>>6176214
>their game plan is to dedicate each line to a single gimmick from here on out.
That's what it's starting to look like.
>>6176941
As long as the gimmick is good, thats fine by me. CW brought us the best mainline combiners ever. TR is a great update to a long forgotten gimmick that people seem to enjoy.
>>6176962
Prime Wars confirmed for Pretenders.
>>6176996
Pretenders?
Regarding the Deluxe Class, we know this much:
Deluxe Class:
Wave 1:
"Shooting Star" - Berserker or Slash
"Gamma Ray" - Berserker or Slash
"Mars" - Bumblebee
"Gas Giant" - Barricade
Wave 2:
"Nova"
"Comet"
"Earth" - Sqweeks
"Hot Gas"
Wave 3:
"Zodiac"
"Gravity"
"Saturn"
"Lightning"
So, that leaves 7 more unknown figures.
IF three of them are grey repaints of Scorn, Slug and Strafe... there's four left.
Pretty sure two of them are Crosshairs and Drift.
Two left and one of them is Hot Rod.
It leaves one more figure to be guessed.
What worries me is that AOE only had three Deluxe waves with a total of 11 Deluxe figures. If the same applies here, then this is the end of the line for TLK figures. IF we do not receive repaints of Scorn, Slug and Strafe that leaves three spaces open for new figures like Hooligan and Mohawk. Other than that we may get them on a follow-up line like HFTD (if such a line is happening).
>>6176962
Except that the best combiners were made by FrenzyRumble.
If it weren't for FR third party won't make their own versions which would prompt hasbro to make their own.
Their FOC bruticus attempt was laughingly pathetic.
If it weren't for FrenzyRumble we'd be stuck with Energon-tier combiners.
>>6175684
>Trusting some random guy
>>6176225
>Power of the Prime retool speculation
>Tidal Wave
>Quickswitch
>Star Convoy
Why do people keep thinking they will be part of PotP? The podcast leak said they will be in a box set.
>Darkwind and Dreadwing (Possibly as semi-retool of Sky Shadow, where one remain the old jet and one is a jet who replace the tank, maybe?
That's fun but retarded.
Other than Overlord, the most likely retool of Sky Shadow is Thunderwing. The odd choice would be Omega Supreme.
>>6176867
That's nice, but my main concern is the ratchet joint inside the crotch.
I cant believe i actually spend 23 buck on this.
This thing is tiny. Even more crazy is that this the only one left in store. The red one is all out. They are going fast.
>>6177089
Is it fuckin sick tho
>>6177089
>This thing is tiny.
If you were seriously expecting anything else than you are a fool.
>>6175683
just got these for 30 bucks in local toysfair
man springer is real good, it's like they designed him for dynamic poses, the left shoulder a bit loose and no missiles though
Soundwave also pretty cool, the red rubber bits were dusty and disgusting so i removed it
the yellow guy joints were tight as fuck, the seller told me he lost the key to activate the gimmick.
>>6177149
Yellow guy is Cybertron Landmine and you should be able to use anything that fits in the slot to activate the gimmick
>>6177149
>Soundwave
>>6177179
>anything that fits in the slot to activate the gimmick
spikes came out!
also the canopy won't stay together on springer
I have an question.
Can I put a lego minifig in an TRANSFORMERS Titans Return vehicle like Bumblebee,Wheelie or others? Thanks.
>>6177186
Titan's Return figures only? Unless the door opens or it's a dune buggy, no. There are other TFs that can accommodate Batman and Robin though.
STARSCREAM, MAKE IT SO.
>>6177185
Yup, you've just gotta deal with that canopy.
The Last Knight will have new molds and repaints:
Drift-repaint and remold
Crosshairs-repaint
Squeeks-new mold
Bumblebee-repaint
Slug-movie accurate repaint, the same for Starfe and Grimlock.
Hot Rod-new mold
>>6177185
cute little dozer
>>6177211
How utterly uninspired. With the general amount of suck that is Titans Return and now this, I'm saving tons this year. Thanks John and Brian!
>>6177221
For once my money's going to cheap chinese KOs. A great time to be jobless and jobhunting.
I'll probably save up for MP Bee only if he's released with a decent MP Barricade
>>6177207
Megatron doesn't know how to make good filters! that makes me the NEW LEADER!
>>6176996
Source your outlandish claims.
>>6177214
what a weird titan master
>>6177259
Shuffler got an upgrade already.
Continuing the list of new molds and repaints
Cogman-new mold
Hooligan-new mold
Berserker-new mold
Barricade-new mold
Mohawk-new mold
Megatron-new mold
Optimus Prime-new mold
Onslaught-new mold based on Long Haul's body
Hound-remold of the original version
Wreck Gar-One Step :\,but he will get a voyager too :)
Also,there are more surprises coming...dragon...
Oh,Rumble will get a legion figure too.
Legion will introduce Two packs this year and some play sets. Also, there will be a blind bag line like tiny titans and 30th anniversary figures.
>>6177275
Hopefully Hound still comes with all his weapons.
Optimus-new mold
Drift-remold
Crosshair-repaint
Grimlock,Strafe,Slug repaints
Hound-remold
Cogman-new mold
Hot Rod-remold of Lockdown
Megatron-new mold

Barricade are new molds
Bumblebee is a AoE repaint
Slash repaint
Sqweeks new mold
Mohawk,Hooligan-new molds, but they could be also one steps or legion only like Steeljaw from AoE and Crowbar from DotMDotM
Onslaught and the dragon new molds
Wreck gar? Probably one step,I think Silver Optimus said on tfw2005 that we are gettin like 5 or 6 voyagers, anyway this was just my speculation but it could be true.Idk if what the other anon said is true, toy fair is some days away...
Generations Deluxe Class:
Wave 1:
"Shooting Star" Berserker
"Gamma Ray" Slash

"Four Moons" Optimus Prime
Wave 2:
"Pluto" Megatron
"Gravity" Strafe
"Nova" Drift
I tried.
>>6176198
I don't care for any of the Titans Return headmasters.
In fact, most of Titans Return (And Combiner Wars) figures looked like something we'd have gotten from 2006 instead of 2016-2017.
>>6177325
I forgave Combiner Wars because they focused more on the end product combination than the limbs' individuality.
I do wish for a return to Generations though.
>>6177311
I wonder if orangebot over here is actually Onslaught.
>>6177335
Almost. It was AoE that felt like a full waste. DOTM had some decent stuff like Jolt mold, Ironhide and Ratchet, Topspin, Sentinel Prime and that helicopter bot.
>>6177329
>Autobots blue eyes
>Decepticons red eyes
Logic
>>6177348
You forgot Shockwave,Soundwave and Megatron.
>>6177351
Lockdown had green, Grimlock had red, Frenzy had blue like defectors Sentinel and Jetfire.
Inconsistent but they might pull off some tweests.
>>6177348
No, AoE's new molds where necessary, for better or worse, because of all the new designs. DOTM's new molds of existing chaarcters without major redesigns where a waste. We got a new Bumblebee a year after Battle Blade, a new Optimus after Leader ROTF/Battle blade, a new ratchet after 2010, etc. The only one that was kind of neat was LEader Ironhide; even then its not a fantastic figure like the older Leaders.
>>6177352
Gonna have to count Soundwave, Leadfoot and Que off because they never got an audience outside of asia.
>>6177324
Why do everything think that four moons is Optimus?
It sounds exactly like mini dinobots. Like 4-pack of the mini dinobots from the movie.
>>6177356
Difference was they tried more in DOTM. Sideswipe had a new neat mold at the cost of lacking in paint. Bee's an annual thing so scratch him off. The rest were new bots.
>>6177358
It was confirmed by Silver Optimus from tfw2005 that four moons is the legion codename for Optimus. It was also confirmed by TRANSFORMERS Peru.
>>6177360
Ok then I stand corrected.
It just sounds so bizzare why use two codenames for a single character.
>>6177363
So it wouldn't be too obvious? I dunno why they'd use codnames given that if they would spoil, they'd spoil as early as April.
>>6177363
They are Hasbro.I'm scared on that Cybertron toy...
>>6177275
I was convinced that dragon was going to be Megatron in some bullshit contrived explanation like the movies tend to do for everything.
Oh well.
>>6177359
>Difference was they tried more in DOTM
Not really. No idea when this retroactive thinking that DOTM's line was good started. I guess just because AoE was that bad. But DOM and Prime RiD is when the budget cuts really began. Ratchet, Jolt, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, where all worse than their old deluxes from even a few months ago in the 2010 line.Yeah Bee is a necessity, but they should've just done what they did with ROTF early on and remold the Battle Blade mold; as the 2007 Concept Camaro was remolded for ROTF. Deluxe starscream is neat, but utterly unnecessary. The Voyager Optimus in the line is a total travesty. Then there's total wastes of money like Ultimate Optimus and Leader Bumblebee. I get those are annual necessities, but they'd have been better off reissuing Leader Optimus with a trailer or Battle Ops Bee.
>>6177370
Megatron will have a cybertronian jet as alt mode.
I have 2 questions:
1.Why Robots in Disguise has new molds every time? Even for one steps!
2.Why after 2010 they simplified so much the TRANSFORMERS toys? Because of soccer moms? Because of money? Why???
>>6177374
>Why Robots in Disguise has new molds every time
What the fuck are you talking about nigga? RiD is known for having a shit ton of repaints.
>Why after 2010 they simplified so much the TRANSFORMERS toys?
Mostly money.
>>6177374
>2.Why after 2010 they simplified so much the TRANSFORMERS toys? Because of soccer moms? Because of money? Why???
Basically both; there where a lot of complaints over the complexity of ROTF toys. Amazon's Leader Optimus page is a minefield of confused parent's reviews. Also the cost on toys in general has been rising; lines that sold for around the cost of a deluxe Transformer back then, like Marvel Legends, are now at $20. I suspect the reason TFs don't have the complexity they used to is to keep the price around $15 for a deluxe.

Might not have been hollow plastic, but it sure was shit-tier.
>>6177862
Doesn't mean it's BAD, numbnuts.
>>6177883
It does seem like they're trying to figure out the best way to cut costs. People hated it when the toys shrunk in size, so now they're a bit bigger now, but with more hollow parts and less paint.
I think I would've preferred smaller deluxes that are more well-made, but I'm sure people wôuld never stop complaining about their badly-scaled shelf displays.
>>6177958
Honestly I'm guilty of that. Tiny Thrilling 30 Trailbreaker/Hoist made me give up on completing a Classics display and consider jumping ship to MP/3P MP.
>>6177958
>It does seem like they're trying to figure out the best way to cut costs
The exact problem is people don't want them doing that. Sometimes, you've just gotta give the finger to the bean counters and share holders if you want people to buy your products and be content with them. Sometimes you have to spend that extra 1/100th of a fucking cent to throw on more paint and add more plastic to the mix.
Too much shit is being sacrificed in the name of the bottom line.
>>6177961
How big were they compared to Scoop? Scoop is barely larger than a Power Core Combiner but I told myself it was because his plastic budget went into his targetmasters.
>>6177968
Especially since that bottom line has increased 150% over the last five years.
If Hasbro were some sort of struggling Indy company I'd understand why we're getting robots based on the Kinder Egg design principle, but Hasbro are making money hand-over-fist. Some of that profit should be reinvested into their toy lines to make sure they keep selling.
>>6177968
>Too much shit is being sacrificed in the name of the bottom line.
They're basically eating their seed corn at this point. They'll squeeze so hard they won't have a product worth buying.
>>6177996
Goldner doesn't give a fuck. He doesn't want to be running a toy company. He literally gives zero shits about the toys, he just wants to make iphone games and apps.
That's all what shareholders and CEO want these days. All they want to do is make fucking freemium smart phone apps and nothing more because data shows that shit makes the most money for the least amount of effort because kids (and retarded adults) are literally animals that work on the Skinner box principle.
>>6177996
They really should just start cutting back on the amount of figures released per year. We went from 20-30 new molds per year in the Beast era, to 40 or so per year in the UT days, to nearly 100 new molds between Generations, RiD, movie, and all their sublines in the latter. I actually do like RiD and its the first media since Animated I've actually cared to follow, but I hope once it ends Hasbro transitions to the old model before 2007 and make Generations the mainline, with its own TV show, and a return to the Classic TF style in animation.
>>6178020
Would dropping the simplified sublines and redundant versions of the same characters in different size classes improve the rate?
>>6178020
>>6178025
Won't happen
more toys = more shelf space
less toys = less shelf space = bigger chance of getting fucked out of the toy store by Marvel/Star Wars shit.
If Hasbro was smart, like they aren't, they'd just kill the RID shit completely and just make a goddamned cartoon based on the Generation line. You'd have kids buying the shit they see on tv, you'd have oldfags buying shit because of nostalgia and then when the movie year comes instead of having 3 fucking lines you have 2 that you shill out.
What's funpub?

>>6177996
>Some of that profit should be reinvested into their toy lines
That's not how companies work. Money goes into executive and shareholder pockets. That's how it works everywhere.
The product is just a formality to justify the stock market gambling that is every publicly traded business's real reason to exist.
>>6178019
Goldner was the assfuck who begged Bay to direct Transformers even after Bay called it a "stupid toy movie" and rejected the project. Knowing how dirty Hollywood is and some of the shit Hasbro has pulled, he probably used some influence to force Bay to do it, maybe as punishment for the insult. I mean it's clear Bay hates the films, he hates the franchise and the fans. He's being forced into this.
>>6178030
Nah mate, quality wise RID is poor, but ive had more fun with most RID toys than the last year+ of generations. The designs are so fresh and inspired compared to another optimus or whoever.
Plus try to imagine yourself as johnny 6 yo in this day and age. Tell me you wouldnt have shit out your balls if you could scan your g1 optimus and use him as a character on some old commodor transformers game, or scan your rhinox into a super nintendo game
I dont play those dumb mobas cuz im too old to enjoy it, but as a kid id fucking love it.
Also trying to pidgeonhole the entire brand into a single long running g1 continuity would kill it. Theres a reason beast wars saved the franchise, theres a reason ash visits new regions and characters or yugioh has new protags. Kids dont care about a continuity older than them, new shows build new nostalgia and new longterm fans
>>6178046
This almost makes TF's being dragged through the mud for 10+ years now worth it, if Bay actually hates this shit. Fuck, I hope he has to direct another 15 goddamn films and gets fucked in the ass by a Hasbro exec wearing a dildo with Bumblebee's head as the tip.
>>6178019
>>6178046
>Goldner this, Goldner that
Always have to have a scapegoat, right?
>>6178046
He probably doesn't see much for the fans. His movies spawned its own subfandom.
>>6178030
Here's what I'd do
>Cut the lines down to just Three: two Classics/Generations lines, and one "simple" line for younger kids
>Classics is renamed Transformers:More than Meets the Eye" and is effectively a G1 reboot, with the addition some characters from later iterations like Bulkhead or Lugnut. 20-30 figures a year
>Basically following G1 year by year, with some changes; more Decepticons early on, some Autobots dropped until later
>TV show tie in
>To meet the need for Optimus/Bumblebee/Starscream/Megatron everyyear, they get a new figure every year; however it'd either be a repaint, or a new mold based on a past iteration of the character.
>Generations is a subline that has a different theme each year, and covers characters from different iterations in year and a half long themes. For example, a Japanese G1 year, or an armada year, or a Beast wars year, etc. 10-20 figures a year
>On movie years, Generations becomes movie line for two to three quarters.
>Simple line is self-explanatory, but better quality than most of the flimsy 1-step crap we've seen lately. Closer to Armada; sturdy, bricky figures. Only one figure per character, but kept at a sub $25 and lower pricepoint. 10 releases per year.
>>6178052
>responding to aaron archer
shiggy
>>6178077
Rescue Bots had the right idea, those figures are rock solid and fun for kiddies. Literally make that but a bit more "adult" for the simple line.
>>6178041
At least he's getting most of the one's that matter. His only missing "main" cassettes are Frenzy (who's definitely getting a toy), and Ratbat (who doesn't seem likely at this point).
Blaster on the other hand, is still missing Steeljaw, Ramhorn, and Eject, and this isn't counting all the extra cassette's that got bumped to main status in Japan.
>>6177425
>still waiting for W2 anything
Shut up.
>>6178213
imho rescue bots should be a bit less rescue heroes cartoony, and be able to fit in with the other TF lines, every figure needs to look good standing next to a generations figure so you get the cross sell of getting the older kids to still buy them as well, make them their own size class and act like they are for bigger kids maybe
>>6178265
to take this a step further might I suggest that one step changers and such all be original characters that only exist in that size class, and that all characters with super kid appeal get simplified toys like that south american line from last year, but without sacrificing on articulation, in addition to more complex generations toys
>Headmasters line
>No Headmasters Sunstreaker based on his early IDW appearance
Seems like such a waste, I remember people clamoring for one as far back as the Universe reveal. Hell, the Universe mold would make a great Headmaster if they modified the torso.
>tfw you get a transformer secondhand and transform it a few times
>notice a stressmark and not sure if it's your stressmark or someone else's
The Phantom Stressmark
>>6178281
What is it?
>>6178283
I got Croc Out for $5 at a local collectibles/secondhand place and there's a stress mark on the nice glossy maroon hood right over where the spring for the head is.
I don't see how I could have done it, because I own the Dark Energon Knock Out and it's in fine shape, but I'm sure I would have noticed it when I bought Croc Out.
>>6177541
Nope. In tank mode, the part that combines with the uppr body becomes the front of the tank and sits flush.

>>6177775
Megabloks Minifigs are around the same size as Minicons so that helps.
>>6178306

>>6178292
So no way of pulling this off?
>Just realized Black Shadow's TM is based on Mega, not Giga.
>The included TM for Overlord is the women of the duo
Does this mean Overlord is the first Leader sized female Transformer?
>>6178314
Nope. Tank mode is formed by folding the shins into the legs. The feet forms front of the tank and sits flush with the part that connects to the body. The turret unfolds from the shins.
Even if you don't fold the shins into the thighs, the way the toy is set up, you'd have an upside down tank connected the jet by exposed robot thighs.
>>6178330
Nah. There's an older toy that was repurposed as female by funpub
>>6178333
Maybe the Overlord retool would make it possible though.
Seeing that G1 overlord toy, the back of Black Shadow is definitely Overlord.
They'd have to retool the arms and wings, plus make the jet front end detachable for a proper overlord. If they'd retool it extensively, they should probably retool the part that connects both halvea to make it possible for that jet-tank configuration.
As is, Black Shadow combines both jet and tank into a sorta Magella tank config.
Jet sits atop tank.
>>6178330
Based on how western Headmasters work, Overlord would be a male that has a female organism make up his head at most.

>Frenzy was a retardedly designed piece of shit
>Sentinel was an Autobot
>Jetfire was a Prime
I'm not saying Onslaught would even fucking have red eyes but to look at the character in that webm, even for a stupid fucking Bayverse design evokes nothing of Onslaught in any way.
>>6178546
>Jetfire was a Prime
u wot m8
>>6178546
Frenzy just sorta blows the argument off. There are some decepticons with blue eyes and some none-affiliates that happen to side with the autobots with red. He's a minicon skellington but he's still decepticon.
>Looking at the webm
Chill, I'm speculating. I'm not outright pointing out that he will be Onslaught. It's only based on the fact that the set visits confirmed Onslaught will be using Long Haul's base body while his back, limbs and head will be different. Orange bot's design from the chest up seems like Long Haul's and that's how I got the idea. It's also plausible since Sentinel, a guy who actually looked decent-faced unlike the monstrous theme of Megatron and the other Cons, happened to be a bad guy by the end.

You may remember that not too long ago, an IMDB entry stirred up a rumor of a potential identity for the role of The Maker from Transformers: The Last Knight. Back then, we took it with a grain of salt but we were finally able to track down the source.
It turn out that Sue Terry Voices; a leading voice-over agency based in London’s Soho representing voice actress Gemma Chan may have been the source of the information.
That being said we now have the confirmation we need to say that Gemma Chan is the voice of The Maker who told Optimus Prime:
“Your world is dying, Optimus Prime. Do you seek redemption?”
Additionally, The Maker now has a name. What is it? We are keeping the spoiler off our front page. Check it out, after the jump.

Where's Takara's winning version?
Shin is right. I received the official 2017 lists (case list not figure list) for Portugal, Middle-East and Poland. All three of them indicate that there is no other Movie "Main Line" other than what we are receiving info these days (at least for those countries).
According to the list, the statement "The Premiere label and box style might just be an easier way to differentiate these figures from the 1-3 step changers and toys for the younger crowd" is also 100% true. Because the Middle-East list has renamed the 'Premier Edition' as 'Classic Edition' for Legion, Deluxe and Voyagers to distinguish them from the 'Gimmick Lines'.
We will have to wait until NY Toy Fair to know for sure, but don't keep your hopes up thinking this is just the first edition and the main line will be announced later.
