Any reviews yet? Getting mined shipped from HLJ.
>>
>>6155139
They're shipping this week aren't they? I got an email from 1000toys a few days ago. Haven't got my confirmation yet.
>>
>>6155139
>>6155899
Yeah, they should be going out sometime this week.
>Dear customers, this is 1000toys customer support.
>The 1/12 TOA Heavy Industries Synthetic Human is currently being ready for delivery, and will be shipped out sequentially between January 30th and February 4th.

I'm not expecting them to spring for ems, so I probably won't end up getting mine until mid-late feburary. I sort of wish I'd known hlj and amiami were getting them, I wouldn't have ordered directly from the company.
>>
I just paid for mine from HLJ, but I'm not shipping this PW order for another 30 days so I can group some other preorders with it. The wait is painful, someone review it ASAP once it arrives!
>>
>>6155139
I'm too poor.
>>
>>6155139
I'm more interested in the 1/12 CaRB they showed off in the shots posing with this figure.

Though, I am somewhat worried about the fragility of some of the CaRB's pieces at this scale. Like the flip out knife-finger, or the super-spindly left hand.
>>
>>6155139
Is it just my imagination or do the proportions look more accurate to a human body on the 1/12? I always felt the 1/6 was slightly too tall and thin in the torso and crotch, but this looks spot-on for some reason.
>>
Mine should be here Thursday or Friday... ill post up that night.

I got him two days ago (I live in Osaka)

It's decent, articulation is good, it's basically really the exact copy of his big brother

Except for the head:
-It has no mask, but an interchangable faceplate
-The skull's jaw does not move (a let down honestly, I don't really see myself ever using this faceplate like this)

Also, moving the eyes is a pain in the ass, and somehow, I feel like they should have worked a little more on the eyes shape. It's really difficult to achieve a look where he doesn't look dumb. The serious and menacing look he has on the box is not achievable.

Wrist joints look a little weak. I hope it won't break.

I honestly think he's overpriced considering the amount of accessories (one face plate and two set of extra hands), but since barebone figmas now go for the same price, I guess it can't be helped.

Overall I'm satisfied. I'd probably love him even more if I didn't have the 1/6 one.
>>
>>6156877
Can you remove the head and take a photo of the peg? I'd love to just replace the head with a poseable skeleton head.
>>
>>6156654
>>6156877
Damn, I'm glad I kept my preorder. Looks far better than the prototype, I love that they were still able to work in the movable eyes.

How does the posability compares to figma he?
Would he be good for art sketches?
>>
>>6161376
Artfag here. I have the Figma He and She, and while I think they're good in terms of a male posing figure this looks like it leaves He gobbling dust. Even though the elbows and knees are double-jointed they still look natural both pronated and supinated, and the division of colour/texture on the body makes visualising anatomical landmarks easier. Mine's on the way, I'll comment more when it arrives.

I know for a fact that Krenz Cushart uses one of the 1/6 Synthetic Humans as a posing model and for working out anatomy relative to perspective.

>>
>>6166546
You should see what ebay is asking for...
>>
>>6166683
eBay does that shit for everything though, there is no penalty for asking dumb prices on sites like that. Hell, even sites like Plamoya or N-Y immediately ask absurd prices on sold out imports within days despite there still being reasonably priced alternatives.

It's a "stupid tax" for stupid people who don't shop around. Also 1000 Toys was notorious for under-producing it's 1/6 scale stuff so they probably thought they could get away with scalping the 1/12 stuff even though it is clearly being made in higher quantities. It was available right up to the release date.

Just kind of shocked that AmiAmi and HLJ had no cancellations and no slots opened up.
>>
>>6166136

At least when they do ship ours it should be through DHL or EMS.

rule of thumb is if they are willing to pay I'm willing to sell desu, can't blame him honestly

it does seem like they are more widely available than their other releases though, so who knows if anyone will pay this
>>
I finally got a shipping notice from them, but at least they went with DHL so it'll be here before the end of the week.
>>
>>6171312
Got mine too, but fuck DHL. No option to hold at a facility and they say it "might" require a signature - so they could just leave it on the doorstep to get stolen again. I wish they would have said they were using DHL on the order page so I could have ordered it somewhere else instead. I'm perfectly willing to pay extra to not use that shitty service.
>>
>>6171320
Yeah, they weren't my first choice, but I was bracing for SAL so I'm just happy to be getting the damned thing this month. I know I've shipped stuff by DHL from mandarake a couple times, but I can't remember if they needed a signature.
>>
>>6168579
>$110 w/shipping included

That's scalping? How much was it originally?
>>
>>6171338
About $50 or $60 before shipping IIRC.
>>
>>6171338
65 even directly from 1000toys, no clue what it was on amiami etc.
>>
>>6168579
Of course that fucking Chino guy would sell it for 110, he is part of that Agelessgeeks group. They make ACBA look good in terms of the kind of people they are. I'm also sure D-Amazing will be selling his for the same price since he believes everything he owns makes it okay to scalp.
>>
>>6171312
Finally got mine too, says it should arrive tomorrow.
>>6171320
>>6171335
DHL required a signature for mine, but I went to the website to opt out of it.

Not living in an urban shithole feels good :^)
>>
Fuck DHL for forcing me to pay taxes on a figure that's still in fucking Japan, along with administration costs. Now the figure is almost twice as expensive as before.
>>
>>6173825
I've always wondered what trips customs for some people and others not. Is it regional? or just random?
>>
>>6174045
In the UK, if it goes through Royal Mail it's entirely random. They just pick odd ones from the line as they come in. If it goes through anything else, usually always bound to get custom charges.
>>
Mine finally came in and he's petty nice. The gripping hands fit pretty much everything I've tried so far, which is great. The joints are also very tight all around. The eyes aren't so hot like the other anon said, the way the facemask is made gives him a permanent thousand yard stare.

And does anyone know what's up with the hips popping out? I guess it gives them extra range, but then that second joint is way too loose to actually use and it can't seem to move forward at all?

Think the issue with the eyes is partially because they didn't line the crease above his eyes and partially because in the original it was a mask and so the real eyes sat back further making him more intimidating.

>>6174539
It's a little hard to tell because none of the promo shots of the mask are 100% straight on, but the shape of the eyes is definitely changed. They're much rounder and wider, it's almost like they gave him a slightly different expression. I'm still happy with it overall, but it was a weird choice to make.
>>
>>6174556
The promo shots definitely have him pointing his face downward a bit. You can see the whites of his eyes and how they have him looking up a bit. There are a few shots on 2chan that mimic this and he ends up looking pretty similar to the promo shots.

In head on face totally forward and eyes totally forward shots it looks different from the 1/6th because the eyes are set too far forward due to being attached to the actual mask. I don't think the eye shape has changed, just how far the eyes are in relation to the mask.

It doesn't have drop down hips.

Its definitely not.

What your doing is pulling the ball out of the socket joint. Its still hanging on because of the other molding around the hip joint, but the hip joint is no longer connected. Didn't you wonder why it was so loose?

I'm not sure about 1/6 clothes, but I've got mine in a Ken doll suit I had from a leftover custom. It's a bit tight in the ass since his butt is non-human in detail, and the shoulders are kinda odd, but it's a decent fit. You can get a good feel of the fit in the pic (ignore my messy desk.)

I really want to get him a proper suit though, just not ready to blow 50-70 bucks on something that might not work.
>>
>>6177277
What your doing is pulling the ball out of the socket joint.
I noticed this, but the fact that hip is still captive even when it's off the joint makes me think it's at least intentional. There's a very defined click in and out in two positions, it's not like it just pops out and sits there half gripped.

>Didn't you wonder why it was so loose?
Which is why I asked about it. I donno, maybe the 1/6th one has something similar.

It depends on the figure and design

The Punisher that's currently being lorded around in the Marvel threads is great.
Same with DKR, the Star Trek figures, and one of the Caps.
This one also looks to be great.
>>
>>6181495
...so? When a new figure comes out that everyone's hyped on, it's nice to hear first impressions even if yours hasn't arrived yet.
>>
I fear for various things with their other molds, honestly.

>>6181367
With the CaRB, I fear the thin right leg, the spindly left hand, and both of the extending/flip out knife gimmicks. Seems like all of these might be delicate in 1/12.

>>6181493
With the Anti-CaRB squad, I have the same fears about the legs, but also I fear the cloth goods looking like shit. Cause if I'm being honest, they didn't even look good in 1/6 (and that's coming from someone who doesn't mind the look of 1/6 clothing in general).
>>
>>6181607
The leg isn't that thin and certainly no thinner than a figma girl. The hands will be fine too. The only thing worth worrying about is the knife gimmicks which they honestly will probably end up making alternate parts for like how the synthetic human has two faces now.

These aren't just scaled down releases, they made changes that need to be made for the scale.
>>
>>6181409
>>6181607
How did the anticarb dudes look without the clothes? Did they skip out on detailing because they knew it would be covered? Or were those ones actually humans? I know nothing of the franchise really.
>>
>>6181617
Googling around a bit, seems like it's mostly the same underneath so that's promising.
>>
>>6181622
Looking at Mezco and 3A's 1/12 clothing, I don't see how any of that would be difficult for Sentinel to shrink down.
>>
>>6181429
A: that's a prototype
B: that's one example out of like 30.

There are plenty of examples of excellent cloth goods in this scale and if anyone can get it right it's 1000toys. Time will tell though.

No 1/12 clothing is gonna be perfect, the scale simply doesn't allow for it. But I think we can mostly all agree that 3A does a pretty dang good job given the inherent limitations of the scale.

What are the other figures in this picture? the one on the left looks like acid rain, but that black robot and eldritc eye monster thing look super adorable.
>>
>>6181234
Not that anon, but the multi-eyed robot is a Sentinel from The Matrix and the robot with the wind-up knob is the humping robot from Robot Chicken.

Anyone mind posting a size comparison between him and revos like raiden/ultron?

<About "CaRB(Collared and Reprogrammed Body)">
The "CaRB" is an unauthorized experimental body with erratic A.I. installed to the head of a captured Synthetic Human. An imperative cleanup order for the CarB has been issued by TOA Heavy Industries, and the 4 members of the Anti-CaRB Squad is out to hunt it down.

The "Collared and Reprogrammed Body(CaRB)", which was previously released in 1/6 scale, is added to the 2nd lineup in the 1/12 scale TOA Heavy Industries series.
Using the 1/12 Synthetic Human as a base, the head, left arm, right hand, and right leg are added with new sculpt.

FUCK
YES

I mean, I know we already knew about it, but still exciting. I hope it'll be up on the normal webshops too, I don't have the cash for it right now.

Also, I'm not entirely sure I'm digging that sorta rough texture on the gunmetal parts...hopefully that's just a proto thing.
>>
>>6203402
about fucking time

its the last one I want
>>
>>6203402
Eh, I'm going to wait until they release a new base body. I love my synth human, but not enough to buy a second that's nearly identical.
>>
>>6203727
>>6203402
Yeah, I love the regular 1/12 one, but I don't know about this. I know it's what they're going for, but the new limbs seem tacked on and look like a mess. If it were just the normal body repainted black It'd actually be a lot easier of a sell for me.
>>
>>6203402
When preordering straight from 1000toys do you pay upfront or when it ships?
>>
>>6203849
Upfront. It also shipped like a week or two later than amiami and the like got theirs, but they shipped it with DHL.
>>
>>6203853
eh, hopefully it'll come to amiami and other places. I'd rather pay later and receive it sooner.
>>
>>6203855
That's Fine But Keep In Mind The Orginal Synthetic Human Was 65 Shipped From 1000tiys And 80 + shipping from amiami.

Looks like this one might be an exclusive and I don't have the money to pay upfront so I will have to skip it. Not paying scalper prices for it. Why do you have to make things so hard 1000 Toys?

It doesn't say exclusive anywhere on the site.

It wasn't 80 with the yen rate it came up to 50 ish at HLJ.

<About "Synthetic Human">
This is the 1st lineup in the 1/12 scale "TOA Heavy Industries" series designed by Tsutomu Nihei and produced by 1000toys.
The 1/12 Synthetic Human is not just a downsized version of its 1/6 scale counterpart. The articulation, gimmicks and silhouette are all brushed up to be optimized for the 1/12 scale size.
In reply to the worldwide demand, the 2nd production run has been confirmed. The 2nd run will have a 【二】shaped marking added to its cervical spine.

>The 2nd run will have a 【二】shaped marking added to its cervical spine.
Cool. You'll be able to tell what run yours came from in the future. I like this idea, and hope they continue it if they ever do more runs.
>>
>>6205827
I like the fact that the marking even works with the design of the figure, it could be seen as a sort of plug-in port
>>
1 and a half hours?

I just preordered both on HLJ. I'm still not 100% sold on the carb but I'm willing to take a chance, and I already wish I had a second regular one right now.
>>
>>6206770
Hey thanks I was planning to order at the 1000 toys site but they took a week or two before even sending him out for the regular release.
>>
>>6206781
Yeah, same. I thought I was being slick when I ordered it from them, and then I ended up getting it later than the usual import spots. This is cheaper too.
>>
>>6206781
>>6206790
Shit, I went with the main site after finally getting through, wasn't aware of this.

Welp.
>>
Both are up on amiami now.
>>
>>6206820
Welp cancelled my HLJ order and just went with Ami-Ami since its a few yen cheaper, thanks friend.
>>
So the 1/6 CaRB has a skull head but the 1/12 doesn't? It doesn't appear in any of the publicity photos.
>>
>>6206846
The seam looks like it's there but who knows if it will be glued shut or if there is a face under there. I would assume they'd show it off if they intended on having a face with movable eyes in there.
>>
>>6207005
If it did have the skull head, it would be an alternate head rather than a mask, same as the 1/12 Synthetic Human. But since this was never advertised as a feature, it most likely doesn't have it.
>>
>>6206846
>>6207005
>>6207040
I messaged them through their facebook page last night and got no reply but they opened and viewed the message so perhaps they're reluctant to announce that it doesn't come with the alt faceplate.
>>
>>6206846
Losing gimmicks sucks, but I'm actually ok with this one. I'm not a huge fan of the skull face anyways, and I especially don't like the black skull face.
>>
>>6207589
It's possible the facebook guys just don't know how to answer that, but yeah, I wouldn't expect too much.
>>
>>6207598
Same here. I'm not too broken up about this, I love the CaRB helmet anyway so I would be unlikely to ever display it without it.
>>
>>6207647
They were replying to other comments in english regarding preorders so I assumed they would be able to answer the question. Oh well.
>>
>>6206846
>>6207005
Does the original 1/6 sort of have a helmet on the back in the head, and the round mask instead of the peg in mask like the original synth human?

What I'm saying is, does the head on the 1/12th look identical to how the 1/6th works or will it need a swappable head.

The eye lense looks transparent on the 1/6th, and solid red on the 1/12th.

2MB, 2448x3264px
So picconeemo clothes. Our artificial human has big, broad shoulders. Tighter clothes with long sleeves won't work. This tracksuit is nice because it's loose and can fit around his arms. The pants are fine and of an appropriate length. I tried the standard black sweater but couldn't get him to squeeze in it. The basic army gear would probably work out. Tank tops would probably work.
