Well I got these guys in the mail.

Takara definitely trying to fix some of the problem with the Astrotrain mold. I got Sentinel Prime. The LG Astrotrain no longer has the weak left knee. It is much tighter now, almost the same level as the good right leg. The crotch area is still a bit weak, but a lot better than Sentinel. Overall, i just wish they go with a pressure hip instead of the giant gap ratcheting joints. The ratcheting thing making it hard to put him in a good standing poses.

Brawn is good, nothing to complain. Do wish it has waist movement, but it has to make are for the little robot.

Topspin is a good mold. I wish some of the pieces are molded in color. The white paint is a bit sloppy in some area. Overall look is a bit unconventional next to the rest of the line.

Preceptor is also pretty good. The scope works (not really.) The only thing of issue is how the blue part of the arms do not lock in any where in the scope form.

Will get Broadside and the elephant TM where they are available in my area.

Aside from inaccuracy, I still say the Movie 1 toys where good to fantastic toys themselves.In fact, I actually orefer a lot of the inaccurate designs to the more detailed movie ones. Not necessariy Starscream, but I prefer Concept 2007 Bumblebee to his more googly eyed movie version, and I think Movie 1 Leader Optimus is pretty cool with his blocky G1 throwback-ness, too.

Roadrage is pretty neat also, but not coming with her own flight stand sucks (I actually thought they forgot it on mine until I checked the back of the box) and her gun doesn't store in anyway in vehicle mode. They should have devised a way for it to peg onto the roof or clip onto the back of the car or something.

The tolerances on her seem slightly better though, everything stays pegged in more nicely than on Tracks and some of the parts that were too tight on him are just right on her.

The mold's actually starting the grow on my the more I play with it and I'm starting to want Loudpedal too, but that's a little too deep into literal who territory to justify getting the same mold 3 times.

My ideal would be something like how the sentai series is run, with different years focussing on different themes with some bleed-through. Like, a line focussed on realistic vehicle modes for a few years, then one focussed on mythical beasts, then one focussed on Cybertronian alt-modes, then one focussed on regular beasts, etc. You can mix it up with different factions being different things, too, or having unique robos on each side breaking the theme.

Same Anon here. It's probably sad because it's going to be prone to paint chipping because for whatever dumbass reason, Hasbro molded it in grey and painted it red, but it's in a place where transforming it rubs two grey bits against it.

So not only is mine chipped in places because of a shoddy paint job on it, it's also chipped where the transformation would chip it. Really wished I'd noticed this when I nabbed it initially, I could've at least gotten one that had better paint.

Still love it though. He was always one of my favorites among the G1 toys. Totally going to end up buying the 3P version of him thats coming out soon as long as it isn't shit.

...Also rather frustratingly, Onslaught's left shoulder is obscenely loose and cannot be tightened because one of the screws holding his shoulder together came totally stripped out of the box. Like there's absolutely no friction happening at all between the rest of the arm and the shoulder and it flops around like a windchime. I managed to tighten it slightly by tightening the other screw on the shoulder as much as I could, but I'd need to get some glue or something into his shoulder without taking it apart to get his arm actually tight.

I just had to get the vietnamese kid who can't hold a screwdriver.

Onslaught's left shoulder seems to be common problem with the mold, it's almost always in a pretty sorry shape, but hey, at least you didn't get a G2 Bruticus, and had to fix your Onslaught's arm, which had the black elbow bit fused to the arm. It took me hours to fix.

After much fiddling I think I mostly solved UW's Blast Off's inability to keep his legs shut like the dirty slut he is

It involves shaving down a lot of plastic and inhaling a lot of dust to make everything fold into place more tightly so the leg tabs can slot together as much as possible (incidentally they made those tabs like twice as long on UW Strafe, explaining why he has no issues)

And even then it's still a little bit too loose so I'll be drowning him in more floor polish all night.
