It's a really solid wave, and space venom is a great baf, you did good as long as you got them for cheap. Also be really careful with deadpool, his swords and the hilt pieces are super fragile. The translucent red plastic that plugs into the sheath makes up the inside of the full swords too.

If glossy paint cheaper than matted paint?
Because other than that I can think of any other reason why hasbro keeps using glossy paint. It doesn't look at nice as matted (most of the time, depends what's being painted I guess)

Didn't they do this for Amazing spider-man aswell?
Either way it's weird to see Hasbro use the same engineering for 3.75 inch clone wars figures on a 6 inch spider man wave.
Though atleast this means the Vulture is confirmed.
So that's nice.

I got the wave at normal price from bbt (my country still has ultimate green goblin wave on shelces).

I thought the seords felt. Real solid, but thanks for the tip. I was even thinking of melting the hilts to the scabbard to makethe piece more solid.

No angle pivot ruins the figure though.
>>
>>6150400
Where have you been, Anon? They did a Hellcat 4 waves ago, thats still warming pegs.
>>
Excited to see Netflix Daredevil at ToyFair.

Also excited about this guy. The last Punisher was pretty disappointing for me. I feel like I'm in the minority though, everyone seems to love Walgreen Punisher.
I like that look for him, I just felt like the range of movement for his joints were really prohibited. Even if he had trigger fingers (Why doesnt he?) I would have barley had any poses worth doing to choose from.
>>
>>6150434
10 waves ago
>>
>>6150435
I adore the figure but I agree, how did he end up without trigger fingers? Looking at my shelf right now and Nick Fury, a figure on the same mold I believe, has trigger fingers/hands molded in white.
Frankflix looks great too, as does Jessica, hopefully they're in a wave/line, and not a box set or anything like that
>>
>>6150090
Why is Old Man Logan excluded from this check list? Like I get he doesn't have a BAF part, but he is still part of the wave.

>If glossy paint cheaper than matted paint?
No, it's actually more expensive.

Also, matte paint isn't as durable as glossy paint, since the matte look is just hundreds of thousands of little microns of silica to create an imperfect surface. So it's easier to scratch the paint off from one of those specks catching on anything.

Some collector figures usually have a matte clear coat sprayed over the figure. This is why the plastic has a matte look to it too and why over time you will wear away that finish by normal handling of the figure.
This is more expensive to do, btw, since its an extra process, and why we're seeing companies stepping away from it.
>>
>>6150582
This figure looks good when you have it crouched like that, and have the Bagley head on. When you stand it up straight it looks sort of short and stumpy, and the McFarlane headsculpt is terrible in my opinion (the Select nailed it perfectly, wish it looked more like that).

It kinda sucks, cause McFarlane Venom with the big toothy grin is my favorite Venom look...this just isn't cutting it. And I'm not a fan of matching up the MS Venom with ML Spideys, he's just too big.
>>
>>
>>6150781
Matte isn't as durable but when used appropriately is generally superior in looks. Unless of course the part is meant to be glossy/metallic/etc. Yeah it's fragile and might rub off to reveal shiny spots but I still prefer it.

I think someone said something about the Vulture figure itself being one of the figures in the wave, and the wings themselves being the BAF.

>Legends Venom is way better than Select Venom.
God, I don't know.
I love the Select's McFarlane grin, it's infinitely better than the Legends' but the Bagley head on the Select just looks...odd.
The way the jaw juts out from the head always looked off to me.

And you're right about the Select Venom not being able to stand for shit. He always likes to fall down, bringing half of my display with him. Literally the worst aspect to the figure, aside from his articulation being pretty ass. For a Select when it was released it was amazing, but compared to the Legends and even modern Selects it's mediocre.

Artistic interpretation aside, I think he means the hyperion buck is just kind of shitty. The way the chest and shoulders are sculpted combines with the off-center ratchets on the ab crunch so he looks bad in a lot of poses. He

I just discovered that unlike other figures on the same mold, Nico Minoru's hands were meant to be swappable, and the peg hole is just right for a small revoltech joint. Maybe we can look forward to a teen girl with extra hands in the future.

>>
>>6151547
You know, I'd really like to know who hasbro thinks the market for marvel legends is. Everything I've heard about the whole single jointed elbow thing is that they do it for visual purposes to reduce the number of visible joints, but I'm not sure if that floats. I think collectors value articulation over an extra pair of visible joints, and at the end of the day, I just don't think this is a line that casuals buy.

If we ever get another Hellcat all I can really think of that I'd like is it to be a bit less busty so it's more like the looser costume in her current series

Oh and knees not made of pudding

I don't think either of those actually warrant a new figure though, and I'm a huge fan of Patsy
>>
>>6151555
I've heard that as well, with the joints, but I'd rather they reinvent the wheel entirely and adopt some higher-end aesthetics and articulation schemes. Especially if they plan to jack up the prices as their SWBS survey implied they may do (for that line).
>>6151557
Nice. I only had the Tamonten that I'm still trying to sell. This seems like the kind of thing that'd make a Mania custom easier for someone.

I think the scale works out ok. Venom (specially McFarlane's) is supposed to be a big guy.

>He can at least stand
The lack of ankle pivot is annoying, but he can stand, it just takes a lit bit of extra effort. Pic related, Venom standing while holding Spidey up.
>>
>>6151749
I'm as opposed to bullshit like hitmonkey/rocket/jubilee as anyone, but regular BAFs are fine if they've got something unique going on. The idea that they have to be big got us the shitty terrax mold reused three times this year, and a comically oversized sandman.

I wonder if we'll get a SHF MCU Dr Strange with yellow gloves in the future, since that looks like it's going to be his costume in Thor Ragnorok, at least he's wearing them in the post credits scene.

Marvel Selelct Guardians of the Galaxy. I wonder how Groot, Rocket, and even Drax scale with Legends.
>>

the only thing that redeems this is knowing RDJ is a Manlet faggot so he probably would look like a regular sized human with the armor bulk.
>>
>>6151962
Awesome.
>>
>>6155657
Huh, a couple of these are probably gonna be my first selects. I might be the only one who actually loves that Gamora outfit, and I'd long since given up legends ever doing it. Hopefully I can fudge the scale enough, she's supposed to be tall anyway. And I'd have preferred a uniformed groot, but he's a gimmie too.

Do all selects lack ankle pivot, or is that just venom being old? That's one thing that could kill it.
>>
>>6155657
I love Groot's headsculpt, but his body looks sloppy and lazy. It's like a particularly good middle school Sculpey piece. Sorta ehh on these. Like Gamora's suit though.

No, they don't all lack it. Carnage has them for example. I dunno about these though, not sure if they lack them or the photographer is just shit at posing.

I'll be buying Gamora to get to the Raccoon whose butt I wanna huff. She's hitting eBay immediately after purchase.
>>
>>6155918
I actually like it too. Still, between the select weird scale and the overall look of the figure I wasn't really feeling tempted enough to get it. But coincidentally since she comes with Rocket who looks like he has way better articulation than the ML, I'll probably get the two of them.

Alright, so I just got my bootleg Jubilee figure from eBay. It came WAY faster than expected (only 11 days from China). For $39 shipped, I'm pretty happy with this. If you need a Jubilee in your life and don't feel like paying upwards of $80 for it, try the bootleg.

The Bad:
Right shin is assembled backwards from the knee down. (easy enough to fix with heat)
Hand pegs look just a tad narrow.
The paint on the neck ring joint is chipped of slightly. (her chin hides it well)
That's it.

The Good:
Paint apps are well-done and the eyes are straight.
All articulation is intact.
The plastic feels exactly the same as any other Marvel Legend figure.
Even the energy effects have the same glitter in them, though their plastic is a brighter purple than the Captain Marvel energy piece I've got.

I suspect that these aren't bootlegs so much as factory rejects, and I may take it into a local collectible shop to compare to the legit one they have for sale. Now if only there could be a bootleg Storm, or some actual KOs of this body to bring the price down for customs and kitbashes...
>>

Yeah, QC rejects or factory overrunstend to happen a lot nowadays. The weird part is these not showing up until two years after the fact.
>>
>>6159535
Is that what all of the DCC and Neca stuff on AliExpress is? How does a company wind up with overages? Is the onus with the production facility for needing to prime the machinery (as one would do in printing), or with sales (maybe expecting a certain number of orders, which winds up being less)?

As a consumer, it would be nice to see those overrun figures (especially BAFs) being packed into 2-3 packs with other figures. But I'm not naive enough to think that would be cost effective or reduce expenses.
>>
>>6159634
It's mostly conjecture, but when most people say overruns they mean the factories that make stuff doing extra runs on the side. The actual company selling the figures has nothing to do with it, they're basically a step above bootlegs. Hence the lower cost and usually shittier paint apps/assembly errors/breakages.

it would honestly become such a better line. I guess I'm just in a place where I've never liked BAFs so I've never had to purchase figures I don't like just to build but that's another downside to it but I can understand the business practice to get people to buy more plastic shit. It's a gimmick and I feel as if Hasbro isn't known to change much ever.

Unless its a cheap repaint/slight re-mould with battle damage or something, with a different head that has wider/squintier eyes you can swap around with the other figure.
They probably won't do that, they could still include the head with the second figure to make you want to but it more though.
>>
>>6160620

You just have to look at the occasional non BAF figures to know it would be better.

Punisher, Deadpool, Walmart Bucky and Falcon, all have better paint and/or more accessories.
>>
>>6161225

I would almost prefer those larger characters just get occasional larger $20 releases or something. sort of like how Transformers does Deluxe, Mega, Ultra.

Neck might be a bit long for Hammerhead, but it's not like he's a normal dude anyway, nice idea with that.

One giant leap forward to completing Dark Avengers. I almost pulled the trigger a few times on eBay too.

How fucked are the odds of getting Moonstone as Ms. Marvel?
>>

>no gladiator hulk
well that's disappointing
>>

Didn't they announce that there was going to be 3 GotG waves just this year? She's got a pretty good chance.

Why do I fuck up like this, /toy/?

When are we gonna get an updated Marvel Select of Thanos or Ghost Rider.. That's all I really want...
>>
>>6163010
He'll get re-released soon anon they did that for Deadpool.

You might not want to make the same mistake with Venom.

I really hope he's not as floppy as the ASM2 figure was.

I really like how these figures move though, will definitely be buying this one.
>>
>>6163096
Jesus! Stop buying MAFEX junk., It's one tier higher than Revoltech, and as shitty, in different ways.

I've been burned a couple of times with mafex,
>>
>>6163128
Higher than Revoltech?
When Revoltech don't break out of the box or are floppy messes? Or take nearly 2 years to release due to continuing delays?

I'm thinking the opposite. There's probably 80% of those that I might want, spread across all of the waves.

Same here. I really want them to make a new Iron Patriot figure though, especially if it came with a normal Norman Osborn head.
>>
>>6163523

I would love a BRB cameo in Thor Ragnarok
>>
Mezco Punisher is out!!!!
>>
>>6163599
What ever happened to their classic Punisher?
>>
>>6163026
Deadpool's most likely only getting rereleased because of the legal issues that caused him to get pulled from most english sites. Since Spider-Man's so popular a rerelease is hardly impossible, but not assured.
>>
>>6163128
>It's one tier higher than Revoltech
But Revoltech is actually good
>>
>>6163128
MAFEX is fine if you just don't blindly buy every release, wait for reviews.

They still end up with a few great figures. Batfleck, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Hulkbuster are a some examples of actually delivering decent toys. It just baffles me how they can be so inconsistent this many figures into the line.
>>
>>6163026
Yeah, I'll try and get Venom.
>>6163622
So, he'll most likely be released, but not actually sure. So I might be out of luck?
>>
>>6163599
Which one? There were 3 versions right? Classic, Modern, and Thunderbolt?
Thunderbolt is the one I'm least interested in

Where at did you find this on Ebay?
>>
>>6162361

I bet something is either wrong, changing or hasbro has gone full retard

We literally just got enchantress. Having her as a SDCC alone would have been dumb, most people knew we'd be getting her later. Getting her AGAIN is full retard. So we'll see.

Go to ebay
Search ZX460

Otherwise, go to Aliexpress. It's the same shipper, and the only difference is that Aliexpress will tack on shipping.
Don't expect the paint to stay on the neck ring/peg. It all chipped off of mine, but I don't care. Also, this is my new favorite headswap.

I got a custom grown-ass-woman jubilee done that I'm fairly happy with, but I'm kinda tempted to grab that bootleg. I was hoping they'd do some minor resculpting and put out a classic daisy dukes version in the new x-men wave this year, but I guess that's out.
