Has anyone in the US found a way to get Six Shot without overpaying for him? Waiting for him to stop being on preorder at BBTS is killing me. He's available on Robot Kingdom, but I see I'd have to pay like $80 for him.

Has he been found in any stores yet?
>>
>>6146435
Tfsource has him on preorder for 46.99 USD.
>>

Considering my problem is I'm getting tired of waiting for him to stop being on pre-order on BBTS, being available for pre-order on TFSource doesn't quite give me what I'm looking for.

As cool as MP Primal and Cheetor are, I hope we get more Beast wars stuff that isn't necessarily from Season 1 of the show. There's a lot of cool toy/comic only characters I'd like to see get more love.

It's a fine toy but not as Ironhide imo
>>
>>6146505

Mine's legs were kind of loose. Futureshine fixed it up just fine.
>>
>>6146505
It's alright. A dream of mine would be if they made a 3rd party addon for him that would make him more van like, like something for the back of his legs that could fold out into weapons and a new front for the truck. Unless they revisit the Towline mold from Energon and update it a bit, I doubt we'll get a 'perfect' toy and show accurate Ironhide/Ratchet.

But yeah, I like him. Replaced my classics/universe toy with him.
>>
>>6146453
On the note of comic characters, I'd love to see CHUG versions of the Decepticon Justice Division, Ironfist, Guzzle, Pyro, Rotorstorm, Impactor, and Riptide.

>>
>>6146561
Wrong company, but a good figure. Mech Ideas were the ones behind it. Unfortunately, Crankcase and him have a QC issue with their mushroom peg thigh swivels. Some are just too tight and will shear the pegs right off on the first twist. Still a great figure if you can fix that or just never twist his legs as the motion isn't needed for transformation.

MI have been quiet the past few years, most thought they had quietly folded after these two and their Animated Huffer and Pipes. But last TFCon they showed off they're working on a LioKaizer team.
>>
>>6146585
Thanks for correcting, not up on 3rd party stuff but went out of my way for Gauntlet when I knew of it existing. Nice to know they're still around too.

Anyone still has their Binaltech displayed alongside MP01/MP04/MP05 on a separate shelf? It's the only thing that scales with them correctly in comparison to the new downscaled Masterpieces desu.

Soo, will there ever be a premium version of the new MP Megatron with a metallic finishing? That's literally the only thing setting me back from getting one tbqh, the molding is brilliant but the bland grey plastic looks so awful that it could almost be something from Hasbro.

>>
>>6146630
You will be wasting your money, he's just another generic-looking, bland and poorly painted mold.

Like most deluxes from Combiner Wars are.
>>
>>6146619
I've never had any of the alternators but I've always been interested. Hound looks the best, but who would some of the other standouts be? I'm interested in Sideswipe I think, but mostly because I like the character.
>>
>>6146552
I'd love for a CHUG DJD, or at the very least Tarn, but I might be okay with MMC's just because of how perfect it looks. Normally I don't like too much 3P stuff because I don't really collect much masterpiece, and I don't like a lot of, what's the word, greeble? And sometimes I feel that's overdone on 3P figures.

I'll also love to see a CHUG Star Saber styled like MTMTE, or Pharma. Yeah, definitely Pharma.

reposting from prev, didn't realize the new thread

Bought the maymay, pretty cute but not the best, his shark mode hands REALLY needed to be ball joints not swivels.

Id say hes fine for a simple legends purchase but not worth the hype

>>6146630
don't bother, I have Blades and it's fun for an arm but not a great as a figure, feet are awkwardly big and arms have crap range

I'm one of the few people who thought the copter mold was pretty fun.

Problem is that the hand/foot port is thin and is more likely to crack than on other molds.

Hound / Swindle is certainly one of the best, likely alongside Shockwave / Meister, Mirage / Hot Rodimus and obviously Silverstreak / Smokescreen (hng, dat liveried Subaru paintjob). Sideswipe isn't one of my favorites simply because it lacks knee articulation, which is a major fuck-up when it comes to something that's supposed to be on the same grade as a Masterpiece, but the detailing and the stellar vehicle mode design can easily make up for it if you're really into the character. I got the Dead End version last year and imho, it's probably the better version of that mold, the dark Dodge Viper looks badass.

Also, get the Binaltech versions instead of the Alternators whenever you possibly can, they're generally better.
>>
>>6146659

Walp, I mixed it up, he does have knees but legs don't have any proper articulation. He can spread them sideways but that's about it, they are permanently locked in place like some of the earlier Armada / Energon figures. There's swivels so you can still do some posing regardless but don't expect much more from it.

okay so a guy on another forum is selling a bunch of TF's, mostly from the RID/Car Robots and Unicron Trilogy eras, would the prices for these be a good deal or would I be getting ripped off?;

Armada
Demolishor-$10
Cyclonus-$10

Energon
Slugslinger-$10(going to try and negotiate down to 5 since I hear this mold has issues)
Divebomb-$5
Ravage-$5
Arcee-$5

RID/Car Robots
Megatron/Gigatron-$30
Dreadwind & Smokejumper-$35
Bruticus-$5

I also expressed interest in Landmine($30), Cybertron Scourge($25), Cybertron Soundwave($15), and Cybertron Sky Shadow($15), but didn't make a direct claim on them yet

no idea yet what shipping might cost
>>
>>6146693
Funny thing, I recently also got a decent lot of Unicron Trilogy stuff- pic related, all of it for 40€.

In what state of completion are they? MISB? Loose? Do they still have all their accessories? The ones I got didn't have any accessories included and were sold for 3€ each (about 3.2$). Also, Demolishor is kinda crappy since it has virtually no articulation, although I would say Cyclonus does look cool.

I must be amongst the few people who does enjoy Universe 2.0 Ironhide, but sure, the Energon Inferno is easily one of the better deluxes from its era. The only think that bothers me is the crotch design, as in, there really isn't any and the legs pretty much just stick out under the truck like pic related, but you can certainly overlook that since the rest of the design is pretty decent.
>>
>>6146699
from what I remember they're for the most part loose, but more or less complete

as for Demolishor, I know he has articulation issues, but I had him as a kid, and want a new one(cause while I still have my original one, he's missing half his missiles, and one of his minicon peg broke off inside his minicon, plus he's gotten beaten up in general), and as for Cyclonus, part of why I'm getting him is because I have his Cybertron remold Buzzsaw, so I know what I'm in for(plus I love the minicon gimmick that Cyclonus has)
>>
>>6146623
I want the weijiang KO that will have that and a back cover piece for bot mode that becomes a belt clip or something for UNCLE mode.
>>
>>6146681
There is some, going off my Binaltech* Sunstreaker, but it's limited.

I still really like the Binaltech figures, even if the robots aren't as streamlined as the new Masterpiece figures, they're made to a much higher standard of quality. Lots of metal, detailed rubber tires, premium paint jobs all round. I've been considering trying to pick up a few I missed off Mandarake, and maybe picking up more of the Alternity/GT figures too.

Hey, that looks surprisingly neat. f something, the lack of detail in the grey parts is somewhat annoying, but the overall mold seems to be pretty sturdy and perhaps even not all that Bay-ish. More pics are direly needed on that thing, but as of now I could totally see it being repurposed for some CHUGs.

Couldn't they grey out the vehicle mode windows a little though?

>>
>>6146820
Looks pretty neat. I just wish these pictures weren't such astonishingly bad fucking quality in this day and age of 8 megapixel cameras being the standard on most phones.
>>
>>6146838
They always had a Classics / Universe / Generations line being released in parallel to the films, it's basically their most varied and longest running collection. Titans Return will eventually be over but they'll most certainly follow it up with some other classics line.
>>
>>6146820
It looks alright. It's lacking in some pile of scrap details but the simplified engineering lends itself to a more coherent and solid design than previous bayformers. It almost makes me somewhat glad engineering has taken a nosedive these past few years.
>>
>>6146838
They'll run simultaneously, all 3 lines.

Just don't expect retailers to keep TR and RID shit well stocked when there are bayformers to sell.

>>6146839

Its an unwritten law. If you leak pictures of transformers early they have to be blurry and poor quality, with being badly mistransformed optional.

But yeah, I notice even sluts on twitter and tumblr still manage to take fucking awful grainy pictures with their phones, even though phone cameras can take some pretty nice fucking pictures. I dont know how they fuck up so bad.

Not to defend Hasbro here, but the Autobot wave was pretty lacking in pain for the actual figures themselves, while Defensor Wave had the vehicle and robot modes with more paint.

Sadly it's an either wheels or body situation.

What really sucks is how the Stunticons and Autobots had painted rims, but NONE of the Voyager trucks had them outside of Takara and TFCC stuff.

> The first toy planned for the Alternators line was Jazz as a Porsche 986. A prototype was made, but Porsche refused to grant Hasbro and Takara the license, stating that "Transformers are not worthy [of] carrying the Porsche trademark. They are war machines, and the toyline in no way represents the lifestyle and ideas which Porsche represents."

>The third design was for Bumblebee as a Volkswagen New Beetle, with Cliffjumper as the redeco. Unfortunately, VW had similar concerns as Porsche, what with not wanting to be associated with "war toys", therefore the design never even made it to the prototype stage.

We have Masterpiece Bumblebee so I can only assume that means Volkswagon eased up on those reservations, but is Porsche still the reason we can't get new Jazz figures?

Old one had a bit of mustache, and it's pretty much better than a Bee clone. Two TFanimated designs were based on it.

I will miss the old one though. If they wanted better designs based on the original, they could've either used the TFPrime version or the Transformers DS version, where Barricade's icon had a faceplate.

Footspikes, Punish Enslave and arm police.

Mirage/Hot Rod (Ford GT) is my favorite of the molds. Coming at the end of the line it has the best qualities. Good alt mode, good articulation, good robot mode. Shockwave/Jazz (Mazda RX8) is also pretty good, mostly because it's really a refined version of Smokescreen (Subaru WRX) mold. The Honda S2000 has my favorite transformation of them all, it's intuitive while still being complex. Ones to stay away from however: Optimus/Nemesis Prime (christ this thing is not good), Mustang (it works once you figure it out but there's a learning curve and it can still be frustrating), Rumble/Civic (good vehicle, shit robot mode).

Of course, for all of these try and get the Takara Binaltech versions as the diecast really makes the altmodes pop.

I can't tell if that back panel folds up. From the front it looks like there's a seam in it, but I can't tell from the back. If these pictures were taken with anything other than a late 90s webcam we could see better.

Not really. The G1 stuff came in between movie lines. Classics was 2006, movie 07, universe 08, RotF 09. 2010 was mixed but it wasn't a movie year. I think AOE was the first to have other lines released along side it.

VW, Porshe and Audi are now all the same company, and it was the same policy being enforced.

Story is that the relationship Tomy had with licensors was what got them to change their minds, after Takara merged with them. I think Jazz is a sure thing.

Odd, since the Bay movies use a lot of their cars too. I thought they'd work out the car license because of that.

Literally the only quality I can attribute to them is their functionality, it's nice to see that after ~30 years Hasbro was finally able to design combiners that don't fall apart when they are played with. Other than that, the proportions are utterly awful, it's nearly impossible to get them to look good without either sacrificing some leg poseability or buying 3rd party accessories.

>Generations wasn't too bad either.
Sure, Generations was always great, but it also covered a massive timespan, far longer than any other CHUG line.

>>6147433
Yeah, I forgot DotM came out after HftD, my bad. There are some pretty decent figures in DotM, but once again, they felt like a slight drop in quality in comparison to HftD. After that, it all went downhill.
>>
>>6147444
I felt the height drop more than the quality drop to be honest. Then again I was a massive scalefag in those years
>>
>>6147444
>the proportions are utterly awful, it's nearly impossible to get them to look good without either sacrificing some leg poseability or buying 3rd party accessories.
This, desu.

It's too bad there isn't a higher-end Transformers toyline that isn't MP, because that's what we really need to get good combiners. A toyline that has a bigger budget to work with, but isn't hindered so much by having to stick to cartoon accuracy.
>>
>>6147447
I still cry for the standardization of MP10 scale in Masterpieces. It's not that I don't like all the great subsequent figures that were made on that smaller size but holy fuck, they would look far more imposing if they kept the original Masterpiece scale.
>>
>>6147449
There's always third party, but too expensive. The chinese are now battling for turd party knock offs too.

I really don't think the market exists at a size to make it worth it to Hasbro/Tomy.

Mainline covers a lot. Titans being the big sellers. Leaders being kinda ok.

MP covers the accuracy and high end.

Independent ones covers the rest.
>>
>>6147447
This is what really put the brakes on me buying retail stuff over the past few years. Well, that and being utterly uninterested in Combiner Wars. I remember being so excited they were making a Trailbreaker, and then it turned out he was hardly bigger than classics Bumblebee, and I just kind of quit.

>>6147450
Everything is still MP-10 scale in Masterpieces...

>>6147451
I have never heard anything good about a third party combiner. There's always a myriad of QC issues, they seem fiddly as fuck, and the few positive words I do hear are clearly people who are trying to smile through the tears of paying several hundred dollars for a toy that is just below par.

Because theres only like, 3 good ones. Maybe 4, if you count Quantron, and most people don't.

Feral Rex, GT's not-Devy, and TFC's Poseidon. There you go, the only 3P combiners that are good. Anything else is literally varying levels of failure.
>>

The last I heard of was Warbortron getting two, by Jin Bao and Machineboy. One of those is lower quality while the other is higher, fixes a few issues with the original Warbortron and sells for about 90 bucks.

As expected these look like more awful shellformers. Not that I can blame Hasbro/Takara, the cgi models aren't designed so that they could plausibly transform. It looks like at this point they're just giving them lots of soft-rounded contours and then texturing them with color schemes that match the vehicles. They didn't even bother with transformation effects for half the last movie.

Character A is a new body with an old head, character B is basically mini-MP
>>
>>6146820
Meh. I'll wait for more pics. I like the proportions but god I hope that car "cape" is just mistransformed.
>>
>>6147680
Some of those (Arcee, Perceptor, Wheeljack) took YEARS to come out from the becginning of the concept in 2006.

Tracks, did we ever get a G1 version of him? I know there was the remold of Wheeljack, but that's not really G1.
>>
>>6147427
I don't understand why people complain so much about CW being too simple, the original combiners used ridiculously simple robots. Fuck, CW even went out of its way to give them heads that didn't double as combination ports and proportionate arms that didn't accomodate to the arm modes so they could have good robot modes.
At most, I can understand having to pay 20 dollars for a toy that's inferior in every sense to stuff released between 2006 and 2011 and sometimes having to do it twice just to complete a combiner.
>>
>>6147289
I hope he gets repainted in his movie 1 colors. Not a fan of that blue.
>>
>>6147702
The Wheeljack retool is currently the only CHUG Tracks we have.

I think the Tracks version of the mold came out first, though.
>>
>>6147723
If they simplified and shrunk the MP a bit that'd be perfect.
>>
>>6147729
With the aesthetic CHUG's been going with recently, downsized MPs would work pretty well since everything's been so g1.

Voyager scaled versions of Soundwave, Shockwave, and the Seekers would make me cum buckets.
>>
>>6147705

Theres always sacrifices with combiners. Even the 3P ones have some sacrifices, and they cost $100 per limb on average.

It's just part and parcel of the whole thing. You can't design a combining toy without some kind of shit being a little "off" somewhere from whatever made up limit of acceptability is in your head.

Personally, I love the CW stuff. It's great. It's the best combiners we've ever gotten outside of a few of the 3P ones, and even then, the majority of 3P ones are so fucking bad CW shits all over them in terms of engineering despite how simple it is.
>>
>>6147731
See. We can go smaller.

You don't. Unlike Takara, Hasbro has no means of dating when their toys are released. Your best bet is a sightings thread on a major Transformers fansite.

Still, I wouldn't be too worried about Sixshot. With a new movie coming out, Target and Walmart have expanded the tf section and hopefully ordered some more stock. Unless Hasbro stopped producing wave 3 voyagers/leaders and went straight to wave 4, then you should have a decent chance in March.

I might be biased since Optimus was my first Alternator (it was literally the only one sold in my country iirc) but I don't think that's a bad mold at all. Japan's Transformers United line where they're sold together, so you get both in the same package.
