Guy asking about 3p Grimlocks here, what's up with Iron Factory? They have a set of all five dinobots for $150, why haven't they sold out?
>>
>>6121916

They're Dynobots, not Dinobots, is why. Or, if you're not familiar with a Dynobot, it's the Dinobots before they had dinosaur altmodes.

Which is probably why they're shelfwarming hard. I haven't even seen anyone here posting pics of them. IF made a bad decision here, they should've just made Legends sized Dinobots rather than Dynobots.
>>
>>6121916
Also they're legends class.

>>6121919
Yeah...I actually really want them, but I'm not gonna shell out all that at once even though they look fun. If they'd sold them individually I'd have probably picked up one or two by now. Mostly I'm just a cheapskate and stick to strict budget.
>>
>>6121919
Nah, I disagree that making Dynobots over more dinobots is a bad decision. I bet it has more to do with not wanting to spend $150 on a pack of legends,

Kind of like >>6121926 says.
>>
>>6121916

Legends class and not technically dinobots. They're great for the scale and you can find them for $130.
>>
I want Iron Factory to hurry up and make a Tarn, a RTS style Lugnut, and while probably not their style, their take on Prime Breakdown in Legends scale would be amazing. We need more chunky little bruiser guys.
>>
>>6121975

Well, you'll have Brawl and Swindle with their upcoming Bruticus set, they're going to be fat little chunk-bots most likely.

Wanted to carry over that I second a recommendation for Planet X Vulcun. It's based off of the FoC design for Grimlock, so that may not work for you if you're looking for something more G1. That being said, almost everything about it is great. You can get some really nice poses out of the dino mode and his robot mode is big and bulky like the official version should have been. The only caveat would probably be the clearances issues the tail has when transforming the figure. I'd recommend looking at a few reviews to see how they transform it in order ot reduce hassle.
>>
>>6122089
Vulcan is really awesome, i suggest it as well.

One thing id like to add though that most never mention is that if ur going for classics scale grimlock, the MP is actually fantastic for that role. Hes far too small to hang with your MPs but hes a bit over leader scale which is great for general release size.

If your going for MP scale dinos and dont mind waiting till ur dead, I cant say enough about the look and feel of the Giga Power Dinos. Only two in so far but both are amazing imo
>>
>>6122095
>all these people suggesting Vulcan

And where exactly can you even find this guy anymore? He's long been sold out.
>>
>>6122107
/toy/ has a BST thread going regularly. You could check there. In addition, for all the agita people get over the TFW2005 boards, I've gotten some good deals on their BST board as well. Use eBay as a last resort.
>>
>>6121993
Oh yeah I forgot about those too, thanks anon.
>>
>>6122107

Robot Kingdom has them in stock overseas, so getting it shipped to the west will be a little higher than retail. The Chosen Prime has the limited repaint if that's worth noting.

I checked Ebay for giggles and found one going for over a grand.
>>
>>6121941
Yeah I think it would have been a better idea to maybe split them up into 2 packs and have Grimlock by himself with an accessory pack or something.

I was pretty pumped to find out they were making the Dynobots, but I didn't really want to drop all that at once on set of legends.
>>
>>6121926
this
i only wanted a few and paying all for them at once kills my budget for the month
>>
Pretty new to Transformers so sorry if my question is dumb but should I take pic related ? I kinda like the design and it'll scale pretty well with my Kaiju figures but I don't know, he's like 22 euros in my country
>>

Wrong thread. This is for unofficial 3rd party TF's.

That one is an official. Check here >>6119834
>>
Why does every 3rd party company parts form the shit out of everything? Its the laziest possible engineering solution and for stuff that costs 5x as much as the commercial toys you'd think they could do some proper work.

>>6122555
Why do you have to shit in EVERY 3PG?
>>
>>6122555

Some shit can't be done without partsforming.

Some shit can be done without it, but it's easier and presents less design problems to do so and you'd be an idiot not to do it, as the sacrifices to do it are not worth the impact on looks or function.

Some shit is too small to not do without partsforming (see: Legends sized stuff in some cases).

Either way, it's never going away.
>>
>>6122555
Any examples? Only thing I can think of at the top of my head is Perfect Effect Warden
>>
>>6122555
What partsforming? There's very little genuine partsforming going on anymore and what is going on generally makes sense to avoid sacrificing things, like on combiners.
>>
>>6122555
Sad.

I'm assuming the third parties have been collectively warned off of doing stuff with combiner ports since NO ONE has done it. I wonder if they've been told not to. I dunno.

Still can't wait to finish out my Legends Phase Sixers with Sixshot. Black Shadow and Overlord are tops.
>>
>>6122710

Why would they care? They're all based in China. They're basically immune to any lawsuits, and even if they did get sued, they'd reopen under a new name the next day.

But Iron Factory isn't doing just IDW stuff. They've been doing more War Within or original-esque designs more than anything else.

Do they even know who Tarn is?

Also the only DJD member I want to see from IF is Nickel. Literally, right up their alleyway.

I am kind of a TF casual so forgive me if this has been answered before.
Are there any good voyager scale representations of the animated movie cast? (Hotrod, Galvatron, Arcee, Kup, Wreck-Gar, ect.)
Most of the Hasbro ones I could find are absolutely awful.
>>
>>6122860

For that scale Hasbro is your best bet. Everything in the third party game is either comic based or MP sized.

He's a little fiddly to transform and feels kinda fragile but yeah, he's pretty great and honestly as good as we're probably gonna get. Third party doesn't seem to interested in CHUG scale Galvatron so I don't expect anybody else to try.
>>
>>6121832
>For that scale Hasbro is your best bet.

I would rather switch scales.
Every G1 Hotrod and Arcee they have released has been a floppy unposable piece of shit.

What is available in the Masterpiece scale?
>>
>>6122741
what the fuck?
you already got yours?
i have to wait for next month for the retailer to get stock
>>
>>6122891

The new MP Hotrod is pretty damn good. Theres no good 3P MP-style Hotrods.

No good MP style Arcee's anywhere, either, though the Generation's CHUG Deluxe figure is pretty damn good, and so is the IF slightly smaller than legend's scale figure.
>>
>>6122884
>Fiddly to transform

His transformation is actually my favorite thing about him. His alt mode completely disappears into his robot mode and for the most part the opposite is true.
>>
What are the chances of another release of Spartan? I'm itching for an Impactor and tired of waiting for an official one (tell me that wouldn't have been a better redeco of Hardhead).

>>6122979

Yeah, MP Hotrod is great.
>>
>>6122975
I really don't know my shit when it comes to Transformers honestly.
Basically I was looking for mid- sized representations of the characters but I have decided to just go with MP scale since that is where all the good figures are.
>>
>>6123006
MP scale just means it's generally scaled off MP-10 Optimus as the baseline.

Which is why MP Bumblebee is about Deluxe sized, and why Ultra Magnus is a hulking giant bastard.

3P's do have a weird obsession with MP's though, I must admit. Which is funny, because some of the best products (IF stuff, a lot of MMC's stuff) aren't MP at all.

From what people have said here, the WIP line is solid enough, but some releases tend to lack a bit of articulation you'd find on IF stuff. But they also have a ton of stuff IF doesn't.

Only problems I've heard have been people breaking their lil' Megatron's feet (balljoints+diecast being tight on some copies) and the floppy left arm slider because it has nothing holding it in.

Also sometimes they re-release their figures with added articulation/tweaks.

Holy shit I realize why I hate Kultur's vehicle mode so much. If they had just moved the shoulder assembly treads down and got rid of the leg treads it would have looked more accurate to the comic vehicle mode while removing the excess kibble and freeing the range in the knees.

Ragging on the Robot mode is dead horse at this point. What needed work was the side profile of the face.,the arms/chest/thighs need some bulk, the hands need an entirely new and larger sculpt, and the guns need to sit like they do in the art: closer together and different sizes.
>>
>>6122934
>>6123789
I suddenly (as in three days ago) discovered MMC's Commutus/Spartan.

Why so much/hard to find?!
>>

Those are all good points, would have really helped I think. And yeah, cant say too much about the robot mode that hasnt already been said but I agree with you.
>>
>>6121832
I can't decide if I want to get this Galvatron or Mentarazor and Deathclaw
>>
>>6124916

I dunno. I sold commutus because the proportions and the gun don't work for the character in robot mode despite the awesome tank mode. I haven't been able to find either mold again at all the usual places so B/S/Ts are probably the best bet at the moment.
>>
>>6124916

It's price was around $85 new. And 3P stuff is never made in great numbers, so waiting on stuff can mean you'll never get it.

>>6124979

Well, 3P stuff usually isn't made to order, it just has pretty small runs, and usually doesn't get more runs past the initial batch (though there are exceptions). It's a very niche market, and lots of companies spring up and disappear overnight unless they manage to hit it big enough with the people who buy this kind of stuff.

Commotus though (aka Not-Turmoil) probably isn't going to see another run though. He was a minor character in the comics, and IIRC is currently dead. His mold mate, Spartan (aka: Not-Impactor) is alive though, and a somewhat major-ish character, so theres a chance he might get another run at some point, albeit a low one.

>>
>>6125128
Your mileage may vary with his tank alt mode, it has a lot of parts forming. But, it also give you a lot of options, guns and missile and parts that can attach however you want. The bot mode is top notch as is the quality; he just feels well made imo. The head mode also looks great but if you don't have the g1 that doesn't matter as much. I really like, he feels almost like a super robot that could just be standalone from something. Also his headmaster is pretty poseable.

K faggo

The mold doesn't work as the character as it is way too lanky, the shoulder pads were irritating, there is very little detail picked out with the light blue paint, and the gun is way out of proportion with the robot arm so it looked stupid no matter how I tried to play with it. My goal was to sell and swap with a Spartan. Tank mode was great of course but the bot mode didn't woo me.

To be fair, its Carnifex that oversize, not Warden thats undersized. With the addon kit, Warden is a solid voyager scale (wich Carnifex supposedly is). Without the addon, hes about deluxe size.

Scale aside, its probably one of the best 3p bots ever made. The level of detail and construction quality are on par with any high end collectible.

How are the TFC Seacon's? I've been thinking about picking them up. Does TFC still do box sets of things?
>>
>>6125870
>How are the TFC Seacon's?
Some of the best 3p bots I own. Cyberjaw in particular is a stand out. Ironshell is the weakest of the bunch, but still a high quality release.

>>6125870
>Does TFC still do box sets of things?
I would be very surprised if they didnt make a box st.

>>6125873

How long does it take for them to shit out a box set, out of curiosity? As I'd much rather get everything then in one package for slightly less money, than by buying them piecemeal.
>>
>>6125881
>How long does it take for them to shit out a box set, out of curiosity?
No idea man. The team should be finished by spring. I would not be surprised if we saw a repaint / box by summer.
>>
>>6125870
>How are the TFC Seacon's?
They are amazing. How TFC went from making Hades to this is unbelievable. Their new designer is godlike, they were able to make the scramble city and target master gimmick work without actually making other modes suffer.

Only criticisms I have heard is the lack of paint apps, but I personally think they are fine. TFC is also coming out with an add-on kit included with the last member to fix some issues people were concerned about like a piece to move the gestalt head forward a bit and pieces that goes into the arm and elbow to make the arm more stable to hold the 6th member as a gun.

>Does TFC still do box sets of things?
Not really, they haven't done one since Perseus. I doubt they'll make a box set regardless of how popular this set is considering how many initial figures they shipped out. Who knows, this is actually the first quality combiner TFC has put out since hercules so maybe they'll make box sets again.
>>
>>6125898
>Not really, they haven't done one since Perseus.
Becouse everything they put since then has sucked, IE there was no demand for it.

If the combined mode for Poseidon is as good as the individual bots, there will be an enormous demand from people that have been holding out to the end, and people double dipping.
>>
>>6125128
I wish he was bigger, and had alt mode that didn't seem like an after thought. Perfect effect just can't engineer a decent alt even if it was to save their lives.

They can do a great bot mode but for the price they wanted for Leonidas and Warden, I would like an actual engineered alt mode that doesn't look like garbage.
>>
>>6125907
>and had alt mode that didn't seem like an after thought.
His primary alt mode is a replacement head for G1 fort max, and he does that very well.

The tank mode is a secondary alt mode.

For anyone that has Sovereign, a question o his bot mode:
Are the two purple flaps on each side of the gray kibble (cannon back leg/support) supposed to tab on to the sides? There are grey tabs near the bottom that seem like they are supposed to be used to lock the purple flaps in place.

Who makes the biggest oversized Prime? Is it the WeiJiang one I see on eBay?

>>
>>6125870

They are overpriced by about $25 but unlike everything else TFC they've got impressive build quality in hand. Some of their engineering is questionable like Cyber jaw's feet and random fist hand, but they're fairly strong in all their modes. Some extra partsforming is involved for the extremities but overall it does a good job. Ironshell is one of the best efforts I've seen for a torso bot, managing to widen out for the combined mode in a clever fashion. The limbs have surprising bonuses to their articulation like ab crunches, but some of the feet assemblies make the ankle rockers more limited than they should be. They also really do lack paint but their colors are broken up fairly well.

As a transforming robot set so far I think there stronger than the Feralcons in design alone. The alt modes are great and they can scramble effectively. The combiner feels really good with the three bots I have so I am very optimistic that the whole thing will work out great.

t. Someone who's hated everything TFC until Poseidon.
>>
>>6125988
>>6125994
Yes, they should lock in place. There is also a tab on the back for the grey kibble to lock into, unfortunately mine is unable to do it as the slot is too low to snap into place.
>>
>>6125856
Would you recommend that add on set for Warden?
>>
So... why has literally nothing by Maketoys been KO'd yet?
>>
>>6126016
>Would you recommend that add on set for Warden?
If you collect mostly voyager scale like me, or want extra gun it comes with, then yes. If you dont really care about scale, and the extra gun does not interest you, then you can skip it.

Also, finally got around to doing pic related today. I dont think I like mentarazor as foot, I might move that around later. I definitely like bigbite as an arm though.

Overall the whole thing feels pretty solid. Nothing falls off or is over loose or too tight.
>>
>>6126033

Maybe the guy who owns Maketoys is the guy making KO's of others stuff in the first place.
>>
>>6126034
>head tineir than hands

That never looks good. At least they came up with body designs that allow for actual combiner elbows, instead of those stupid as shit "thighs as elbows"
>>
>>6126037

Thats how a lot of robots are designed dude. It's a design trick. Makes something look bulkier/bigger by giving it a smaller head. Look at The Hulk, or Juggernaut, if you need more human-like examples of "huge fucking hands, with a pinhead".
>>
>>6126034
Fuck I want this set, but $99 a figure just seems too much. If it were like $75 I'd have no issues buying it, but the full thing will be $630 + any shipping I pay... and man, that just doesn't seem worth it when so many other things are coming out like Maketoys Jazz and Pointblank, Toy Worlds Devastator Bundle, Toy World Arcee. Maybe Poseidon will be paid for with tax refunds, idk. Fuck my wallet up senpai.
>>
>>6126034

Where does Voyager fall into CHUG?
>>
>>6126048
>Where does Voyager fall into CHUG?
Voyager is a scale, where as CHUG is an aesthetic right?

Voyager is larger than deluxe, but smaller than MP.
>>
>>6126048

Voyager also means something is roughly 7 inches tall. Leaders are roughly 9 inches in height, Deluxes are roughly 5-6, and Legends are roughly 4.

And I say "roughly" because things will vary depending on the individual bots.
>>
>>6126057

Ah, so Voyager is about the size I try to collect for, give or take.
>>
>>6126063

Also, for scaling purposes, MP-10 is around Leader height, and the MP line is scaled based off MP-10. It doesn't follow the whole Legend/Deluxe/Voyager/Leader size class thing, I'm just including the information because some figures MIGHT scale well with MP stuff despite not being MP figures.
>>
>>6126034
I absolutely love everything I've seen and played with from these guys so far except one thing... The colors. Like, don't get me wrong, the colors individually are great but as a whole, there's too much of the same scheme going on. It's not as apparent in individual bot or alt modes but combined, it really throws off the balance when most of them wind up showing largely seafoam green and then Bigbite is rocking his sky blue and pastel pink. With combiners, you either gotta do everybody with mostly the same scheme (Predacons or the Constructobots) or you gotta make them all pretty different (just about every other combiner) and I think where they chose to place colors on each of the bots kinda wound up fucking with that so only Bigbite's colors stand apart in gestalt. Thousandkils will likely help that but I think one of the biggest things they could have done to help that would have been letting Cyberjaw have the purple on his alt mode.

Apolion
Mightron
Despotron

>>

Yeah, obviously, the Takara IS the best. But man, for me, it's over 300$ counting shipping and all.

Appolion is the cheapest, come with all the big accessories, but look like a prototype. Especially with these fucked-up legs.

Despotron is awesome but look more like Megs on steroids and is still nearly 200$.

Mightron's true weakness is that backpack of his. However, the price is relatively reasonable and he does look the closest to the real deal. So, yeah.

Will Mightron's price drop more when the official MP come out?

Thats because there are way more Decepticon combiners than Autobot.

Also I think the only decent one was the Not-Defensor, but it has hilariously un-Defensor looks for both it's composite members AND it's combined mode. They pretty much made an vaguely Defensor-like Original Character Do Not Steal.

In same way some of the early Not-Devy's don't look a fucking thing like Devy or have members that don't look like they should.

I love Jazz and I really want to want this but it's just so visually bland. Yeah yeah, THAT'S GEEWUN FOR YA! But still, even with a lot of MP figures, third party or official, there's some bits of tech detailing splashed in there. They tried with some of the panel lines, but all they are is straight lines forming simple rectangular shapes. It's just not doing it for me visually.

Barring that though, he does have a lot going on for him and I can see why somebody would want him. I do really dig the face sculpt and that metallic blue on the visor. Accessories are nice too. But man, that transformation. That is the part that impresses me about him. It's just so simple and elegant. No complicated bullshit. Just a straightforward, intuitive series of motions. I can respect that. Also, while I'm a door wings man myself, I do love that they made it so you can fold them away in bot mode if that's your preference. That is some genuinely thoughtful design.

Hnnnng this guy is so good. I also totally forgot he came with Elita so that was a nice surprise - didn't expect her to be as small as she is.

There are some things that bug me, the main one being the lack of wrist rotation in super mode. Suppose that has to do with how they attach to the forearms. Fortunately his arm range does make up for that somewhat, plus he can two-hand his sword.

The other thing would be the way the foot pieces plug in, which uses a peg connection for some reason and nothing else. That means the whole chunks kind of swivel when you don't want them to - one extra tab would've helped immensely. Perhaps that's intentional to allow for a bit of forward or backward tilt?

The skirts not moving don't really bother me as much as I expected them to, but it is odd that they aren't jointed.

Those small issues aside he looks amazing. His proportions are dead sexy and the transformation isn't overly simplistic. Definitely worth the wait.

I was one of those 'It is different and therefore bad!' kids during it's initial run but it is still heartbreaking that it got axed.

I only own a Hot Rod figure from the Animated line but it is a fantastic figure.

I was hoping RID would recapture some of that Animated magic.
That obviously didn't work out.

The saddest thing about the toy line ending is that we will never get a final season Sari figure unless some kind third party makes one.
>>
>>6127813
>Are the old comics any good?

They're worth a read, especially the UK stuff (and I'm saying this as a Amerifat), but they're their own continuity and the art is pretty goddamn terrible by todays comic book standards.

I do think the IDW stuff is better all around though. And that recent GI Joe/TF crossover by Scioli (sp?) was like an amazing acid trip throwback right to 60's and 70's comics.
>>
>>6127813

>I was hoping RID would recapture some of that Animated magic.

Fuck that was me too. The sad thing is a lot of the designs for the toys do work pretty well despite the simplification, but the abandonment of the standard size classes for gimmick lines, cheap ass joint design, hollow parts, and complete omission of any extra articulation sours the entire lineup. RID has a hell of a lot of gems when it comes to unique designs coming out of the Decepticon side and the design team is wasted it on upsized Mcdonalds tier toys. If we had the FE: Prime team or early thrilling 30s team on it I think we could have had a god tier line of something fresh and new.

Now they're trying to get away with replacing paint apps with stickers that don't even follow the molded in detail so they peel off after a few weeks.

they are swappable if you unscrew the connection on the hands and swap those (which is REALLY easy). Quantron's official layout is the reverse of Computron.

I leave the arms the way Maketoys set them up because I like that color lay out more, I think it would be too heavy on the reds to have both the orange arm and red leg on the one side.

what the hell is that supposed to mean
>>
>>6128226
Quantron is overall a good combiner. I have heard some sets have issues where Blindfires waist will be too tight and snap (idk how because it's not a tight joint at all, it's a non-friction soft ratchet), or sonic-drills knees will break due to being overtight (shapeways has replacements), but my set has been transformed several times over and over, with no issues but some stress marks on the combiner part C-clips, and if those clips broke they would still hold in place just because of how the connections are designed. I got the set for $325 and thought the price was absolutely great for the set. to be quite honest, the figures in it are probably my favorite 3rd parties I own.

Like >>6128252 said all you do is swap the screws on the hands. The arms can attach on either with no problems but its the hands that have unique attachment points for Afterburner and Strafe. You have to swap the hands around to get the thumbs on the same side. It's extremely simple, only requires a screw driver, and takes like 2 minutes tops.

Quantron is strongest in vehicle mode and combined mode. 3/5 are good in bot mode, the other two are awkward but not terrible. My favorites are Blindfire and Sonic Drill. Blindfire is hands down great and refreshingly simple. Vehicle mode is ace and he's got a good number of weapon options and the posability to make use of it. Sonic Drill is a clusterfuck to transform and may have trouble stand but damn if he isn't incredibly fucking cool looking. He's got a scouter thing, has tiny extra grabby arms, has under-slung guns that transform into his hands, and can stick the drill on his fist for extra fuck-you action.

The combiner itself is nice an sturdy as a rock. There are non-slip pads on the feet and the arm ratchets give you a ton of range to play with. The knees and head are disappointingly limited by design though, but you can work with it to get most of what you want. You may need to use the replacement parts the giftset comes with to keep Sonic drill stable and the waist centered. The biggest weakness of the combiner is how thin the side profile is when he's wielding his death bow and how the death bow doesn't twist with the torso when sitting a backpack. Get the Shadow fisher kit at action robo if you pick up Quantron. Mounting the unused bit of the bow up higher is a crude but extremely good and effective fix not only for the combined mode but for Metal Storm's robot mode too. Allowing the bow to sit higher and turn with the waist allows you to do so much more with the thing. I'd grab it for $200 - $250.

Jesus christ, both modes are great but the journey there is absolute hell. I love how the legs>tank can be done in like a minute just to sucker you in, but then the torso>jet punches you in the teeth and takes your wallet. That backpack is 400% more complicated than it needed to be.
>>
>>6129549
Are you learning disabled? It takes me 5 minutes at most to go between modes. The shoulders are a pain, but after the first time, they shouldnt give you that much of a problem.
>>
>>6129556
>>6129549

Different Anon, but the part that trips me up is the shield to jetnose part. Not because it's hard, but because it's a bitch for me to get it in place properly.

Also for the guy having trouble with the torso/jet part, make sure you open up the wings and pull them out BEFORE you slide the pack down. The instructions, even the ONLINE FUCKING INSTRUCTIONS, don't tell/show you this. Those wings, when stowed away in his back, actually lock the damn backpack in place. So if you try to force it you're probably gonna break something in the long run. Just unfurl the wings fully from the backpack before you slide'em.
>>
>>6129556
The shoulders aren't usually a problem. I think one of mine is irregular or something because it's always a pain in the ass to tab onto the body while the other goes on the first time every time.

>>6129616
Honestly the front of the jet is on par with the legs for me. Arms go straight up, slide the shield on, tab the arms, in easy. It's one of those things that's fine as long as you do it in the proper order.

>make sure you open up the wings and pull them out BEFORE you slide the pack down. The instructions, even the ONLINE FUCKING INSTRUCTIONS, don't tell/show you this
Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. I got stuck trying to slide the backpack down for like five minutes before I looked on youtube and realized I would have broken him if I kept trying. Also the way the wings have to flex as they swing and rotate into place. Christ.
>>
>>6129636
>I got stuck trying to slide the backpack down for like five minutes before I looked on youtube and realized I would have broken him if I kept trying.

Yeah, I was stupid enough to slide mine twice before realizing. Lucky I didn't break anything (or at least, I think I didn't).

It's a really glaring omission, and even the official online instructions don't show you to do that, the guy there literally just forces the pack, which is why I thought it was just super tight or something at first.
>>
>>6129671
He's still pretty amazing otherwise. Probably my one other gripe is that he didn't need to be quite as huge as he is, but eh. I really dig how the color separation works between the tank and jet.

>>6129705

All I can think of is the Heisenberg Solution Set. From what I can tell, it's a translucent knock-off of the official sword.

It also doesn't seem to be available without the gun. That said, the perfect effect one is $30 alone and has ratchet killing diecast, so I would recommend the Heisenberg if you don't mind taking a risk on a new company.
>>
>>6130521
I'm still really annoyed at that. No info for a while, and they now reveal their sword is clear plastic.

BTW, the sword isn't a complete knockoff they actually did change some things that distinguished it from the legal version.

Unfortunately I think that one has some weird notches on the smaller swords which means you can't use them on most 'bots as the notches get in the way of closed fists and prevent them from slotting into the hands.

Seems like a retarded design oversight.

>>
>>6131524
Well, it depends if it's slathered in paint or not. Bobo has unrealistic expectations for how much paint a figure should get. He'd cream his bathrobe over TR Brainstorm.
>>
>>6131548
He did review TR Brainstorm actually.
>>
>>6131548

Thats the only weird thing about his reviews. He expects every figure to be slathered in paint from head to toe. Which honestly, isn't a good thing. You don't want 90% of a toy's surface covered in paint. It chips, it scratches, etc.
>>
>>6131690
I don't think he really "plays" with his figures too much. He probably just wants something to look nice on a shelf.
>>
>>6131522
He does own this one, he mentioned that he preordered the figure. He might be one of those people that doesn't use instructions, which I understand; for the most part neither do I, but if you are reviewing a figure, use the damn instructions so you know what you are talking about.
>>
>>6131524
>It is Fans Toys after all.
Not necessarily true. He didn't like Lupus because of the cockpit not locking into place, which is a lie because if you push it all the way up, it DOES softlock into place. You could even tell he didn't have it lifted up all the way by looking at the sides.

Easiest way to do it is to lift it up enough to get in there and open the cockpit, then you reach in and pull it up the rest of the way. You'll hear a soft click and that thing ain't gonna fall down again no matter how hard you shake or even tap it.

To be fair, most 3P instructions are worthless as a motherfucker. I usually have to check youtube for a video if theres a part I'm unsure of to mess with (ie: something requiring more force than a gentle touch, I don't want to dare break my expensive shit).

>Seems too good to be true.
He sell below MSRP. BBTS, and the rest of the big guys could sell at the price too if they wanted to. In fact BBTS sets a lot of prices for the US market. They are largest US buyer so they have a lot of leverage with the distributors and can bully them into not selling to other retailers if they are selling below MSRP.

GCI got into some shit a while back with MMC for selling below MSRP and had to find a new distributor.

Long story short, yes hes legit.

Oh you're also PRE-ORDERING from TFS? You'll need to add at least 3-4 weeks to your wait after the other retailers get their stock because that's when they'll get theirs. I would say that I'm joking but this has actually happened to me the last 3 times I've pre-ordered from them, and I've done extensive buying from them in the past.

My go to places are The Captured Prey, GCI Toys, or The Chosen Prime. The first two get limited stock but are slightly cheaper than the rest. The Chosen Prime does same day shipping and no upfront charges for preorders without a credit card.

If you want a MMC voyager you might also want to try Planet Steel Express. They'll get MMC's stuff in first and ship from Asia for free. Plus they might throw in a bonus retailer exclusive accessory.
