Some of them would be pretty easy retools.

>wait until you see the deluxes
>>
Assuming this is the TF general, how do people feel about wave 4 of TR, specifically deluxes?

Topspin doesn't do much for me.
Grok is cool and all, but I already have Skullsmasher.
Quake is a good reuse of the Hardhead mold; it'll help me get the mold while sticking to Decepticons only.

Perceptor and Kup however are seriously making me reconsider that stance. Perceptor is absolutely perfect, and Kup manages to look solid in robot mode with his traditional vehicle mode, and I don't have the previous good Kup.
>>
Can someone post pictures of Shadow Spark Prime? Official ones with box.

I'll be getting Hasbro's Topspin, Perceptor, and Kup. I'll probably get Takara's Kup too.

There are even more coming.
Note:Nike will make a line for the movie ;)

I don't doubt the original Machine Robo figure was male. At least her head looks like an astronaut helmet, which look the same whichever gender has them. I suspect Gobots made a number of their characters girls to get that inclusive edge over Transformers before the invention of Arcee.

I managed to recover her.
>>
>>6120227
good work anon. Hopefusually it remains spider free
>>
>>6120244
She had a huge glob of web on the front if her, but any spiders that were down there cleared out when she started moving. They can rebuild their webs as long as they don't come into my living area.

Speaking of spiders, we need a Generations Blackarachnia. A Tarantulas wouldn't hurt either, but at lrast his old toy actually looks like him.

I forgot to mention it in that previous thread, but Transmetal Blackarachnia's removable breast plate is probably the single most questionable gimmick any TF has had.
>>

Looks good in robot mode, but if you know anything about spiders you'll instantly see the beast mode as a male and ruin the illusion.

>>
>>6120621
Please make Barricade actually have a good fight with Bumblebee. Ever since the first film Bumblebee's been immortal
>>

The closest to that is Transformers 3 the game but no brawling mechanics (but it has more melee options than the WFC/FOC games) and Devastations but little destructible environments. Special mention to TF1 the game

I just realized that the one flaw the toy might have is not having the shoulder launchers
>>
>>6120635
>>6120643

Actually the RotF game was the best ones in terms of feeling like giant robots while destroying stuff with good melee combat. The actual game itself was pretty crap, but the combat mechanics and just feel of the bots was tons of fun. Every bot had their own unique melee combos and special weapons/attacks, the size ranges was all over the place with bots like Long Haul and Optimus towering over car bots like Bumblebee and SIdeways. The flight controls were...questionable and some people didn't like the fact you had to hold down a button to stay transformed, but it actually led to some great car chases in multiplayer and actually gave transforming a useful purpose..

The transforming attack combo was easily one of my favorite moves, especially as Long Haul as he would just bulldoze other bots with a very satisfying thud.

You see how in some figures the front half of the head is made out of normal plastic and the back half with the female balljoint out of transparent plastic so it will break or get loose if you touch it?
The responsibles of that should be hanged in public.

Light piping is still cool, though. The movie toys seem to have it figured out, making the upper back of the head transparent so it's positioned to catch any light into it.

I'm gonna ask a question that I feel needs to be asked, what's the deal with titan master connections?

For those suckers who got stuck with the legends versions you may of seen this, supposedly this is the "correct" method of insertion (had a friend get a proper translation, yadayada it'll break eventually if you do anything but this).

But here's the thing, the connection this way is *tight*, it *clicks* firmly this way, and I just tried this with trigger happy and his TM head balljoint nearly came out of its socket trying to remove the head, and (in most cases anyway) looking at the connection would imply it SHOULD be the other way as there is less resistance (the back of the head should be inserting into the widest part of the connector while the face the smallest one be sitting inside the smaller one, the other way is forcing the prongs wider apart and the only one I don't do this for is TR scourge because its loose).

So, what can't I see that isn't infront of me, you'd think ripping at a constantly tight connection would do more damage not a loose one, right?

>>
>>6121331
There's two little indents at the back of the Titan master heads, there's two little pegs on the front of the ports that align with those, you just angle the head in and they go in and out pretty easy. Some are a little tighter than others but I've not had any that I have "rip" out or worry about getting damaged in the process.

The tolerances are shit on this line. If it doesn't go in easily and smoothly be prepared to shave down the two indents in the port and the titan master head itself. You'll want to compare heads and ports to see which is most appropriate.

>you just angle the head in and they go in and out pretty easy
See this is a bit of a problem in my eyes, they're practically kids toys, you wouldn't expect an 8-9yr to accurately angle the heads in as they connect.

CW was perfect, you could NOT go wrong with their connectors and ports, here even when the manual tells you too it feels off.

My legends chromedome's head connector just feels too tight, not as tight as triggerhappy mind you but the connection needs a little too much force and even more during the removal part, surely straight up and down should be fine but what the instructions say just doesn't feel right.

>>6121475
Tell me about it, I ended up using a "soft" mod on my TR scourge so the head just sits in there period (and to ensure it doesn't fall out still I use as the manual prescribes).

I'm just so used to doing it like this in pic related for most of them (from chosen prime, after comparing the feel of the connections of mine I stuck with this), I don't get how a connection that adds more friction supposedly reduces the risk of breaking them, and to then modify the heads further?

I know the the TR versions we can go "hur dur you get what you pay for" but since takara is using the same shit it makes you wonder if they planned people installing heads incorrectly.

I got Hasbro MP Soundwave today and I have to say I'm not terribly impressed by it's QC. His chest had a gold paint chip out of the box and a lot of marks on the plastic telling that they weren't properly cut off the sprues (probably just twisted off). There was even a big chunk of sprew left on his crotch plate that needed to be cut off before I could put him in tape deck mode (I ended up nicking the palstic nearby too in doing that so yay).

Still a really damn cool figure though. I've had surprisingly little issue with the chest gimmick and the cassettebots are all damn fine. I just wish I could clean off those sprue marks somehow.

Finally got my Takara Chromedome in the mail! The brown's less dark than the Hasbro version, plus the cream, and red sections look much better.

That said, some of the paint aps on Hasbro are better, like the red on the arms, the silver stomach, and the blue on the shins. The tiny drill tank is so much cooler than the Nightbeat version by virtue of having decent colors instead of Nightbeats nightmarish combination.

Oh, and none of the issues I've gotten with my Hasbro version are on the Takara (the leg panels don't close properly, and the chest untabs on the right side whenever I flip it).

I haven't had the issue....but then again, I only own one TR figure, so there's that.

I have heard of people having issues with getting the headmasters on and off the base figures though. Guess you just have shitty luck.

Typically it's not difficult to get a Titan Master onto its intended body, but if you want to put it on a different body then it's more than likely it won't fit without turning the Titan Master's head around.

My purchase of Soundwave included a box for Ravage to play in. How cute!

Am I correct in thinking that MP Ravage isn't very popular?
I don't know where I got this impression from but now that I have him in hand he's pretty fun and articulates surprisingly nicely despite the immobile neck

Eh, as long as it's not kibbly in robot mode, and ends up more like DOTM Shockwave instead of ROTF Fallen, I'll be happy. That being it looks like it's a cybertronian thing, and not just "oh hey I'm a mess with cybertronian slapped on"

That being said, I hope it's a jet mode similar to the first movie. I liked that. I felt like in ROTF he looked more like a mess of metal, would rather not see that again.

I don't have any any other version to compare but as far as I can tell everything is in order. All the joints are nice and everything either moves or locks into place as it should.

Soooooo is this the place to discuss M.A.R.S Converters? I get that they're not TECHNICALLY transformers but these guys are so much fucking fun. I've liked the TR line so far, but there's some huge inconsistency in the representation of the figures:

-Color schemes can be from the toys, or not
-Plastic color distribution is a mess (notable with some figures like PMOP, Brainstorm, and the Titanmaster faces that are painted over when the color they use is also used on the figure), and many colors used are faded or washed out instead of richer colors
-Titanmaster faces make no sense in what they're trying to be, some are accurate to the G1 Marvel comic, IDW comic, Headmasters anime, original toy, etc...
-The forced seat guns. I understand why they did it (their way of giving all toys a Targetmaster gimmick that also work as heads), but almost none of the figures look decent with them, with only a few having ways to hide the seat when no figure is available (like Galvatron, Hardhead, Blaster)
>>
>>6122012
His ankle joints have a strange slight warp to them, but it doesn't stress or hinder anything, the silver plastic just kinda bends out a little at certain angles. Also the Buzzsaw and Laserbeak head cameras aren't quite straight on like 90% of the reissues. I imagine it can be fixed easily, it looks like something just isn't lined up right in the heads, but it's not noticeable enough for me to really bother.
>>
>>6122012
In addition to >>6122328 mine had scratched silver paint all over one of his elbows, like deep scratches like the elbow hit a damn asphalt parking lot. A silver paint sharpie perfectly matched it and it's 110% unnoticable now, I was probably just unlucky, every MP has paint issues here and there.

Superior Takara paint or not, that Starscream is terribly dated.
>>
>>6122345
That's not Flywheels. It's just his head. I know that's good enough to count for Hasbro and some low bar faggots, but those don't really matter.

>>6122348
There's no TM Shockwave, you probably mean the Legends guy from CW. Still, same problem with Wheelie. Too small.

Fuck, why do people keep pushing Legends? That shit is for the tiniest of characters like cassettebots and shit. Fulcrum and Crankcase are overage size guys. Deluxes are the average size figures.

Cerebros is a pretty cool generic robot figure. He's got nice proportions and shapes. If he had his own altmode he'd be the start of the Fort Max.

Weirdwolf is the worst original headmaster and I can prove it.

Brainstorm
Hardhead
Highbrow
Chromedome
Skullcruncher
Mindwipe

All refer to the head in some way. Weirdwolf should've been called Steeljaw or something to keep the theme consistent.

I'm a little disappointed in the detail level and lack of crispness in the sculpt. I kinda thought if we ever got MP Bayformers, they would be really detailed looking, but this is....a bit disappointing. I know it's not a fair comparison cause it's bigger and doesn't need to transform, but I guess it's back to saving up for a 3A Bee to get the detail level I desire.
