What's under the tree waiting for you right now?
rebel commando fig when
Waiting on those RO troopers. Headswaps inbound
>general
Where is the link to the old thread?
Does the old thread link here?
Where is information about new and upcoming figures?
Do we have a faq/pastebin?
What the fuck is this thread? Can someone go make a proper OP?
>when the walmart finally gets scarif troopers and they're still doing the black series sale for $16
>>6081194
Here's hoping that Figuarts finally makes or at least announce Bespin Luke by next Christmas
>>6081297
>another figuarts Super saiyan Luke
Nah, I'll pass. I'm holding out for a MAFEX Luke
>>6081314
If you collect all the Vader variants a giant dragon appears and grants you a wish.
I want an import Bespin Luke, I don't even care who makes it as long as it's good. MAFEX makes me nervous because of CQ and the way Batman v Superman came out.
For human characters I'm all foabout Figuarts. And for the millionth time the hair and face don't look bad in-hand.
>>6081297
I don't know if they have enough gold paint left.
>>6081314
>>6081338
At least it can't look worse than this 70's toy looking thing.
>>6081338
>>6081344
>>6081352
>>6081262
The only reason I don't post a link to the old thread is because you get so angry. Besides, why do we want to be reminded of how you shit up the last thread and the ones before it
P.s. You sound like a guy who hasn't got Darth Revan
Republic Commando black series figures when
>>6081389
Not him but I do like links to the old ones. It just helps navigating when it hits the external archives. You not doing it out of spite is just petty man. If you want to run the general do it right and use the format of every general on here. We had them fine for a long time then for some reason you want to step up but you do a half assed job.
Anyone know if Black Series is doing more Stormtroops because of Rogue One?
I don't know about ya'll but I'm finding them hard to come by these days.
My Darth Revan finally came in. I kept hunting for him even when I knew he was already being shipped but was unsuccessful. Feels good to know I finally got hands on one though.
>>6081414
There will always be more stormtroopers. You might have to wait a few waves, but stormtroopers eternally sell.
>>6081352
There isn't one but that doesn't make him immune to criticism. That's why I want MAFEX to throw their hat into the pot. Because so far all Luke's have been poor imo
>>6081428
Mafex won't do any better, have you seen their human figures?
>>6080851
It doesn't fucking matter, you have no argument. HEAD CANON is literally shit you made up in your head that was NEVER officially represented. Okay, I get it, you just know the term from seeing/hearing flung around by others and you never actually understand its literal meaning. Now you fucking do because I had to spoonfeed your ass.
>>6081434
Vader's headsculpt was great, and their Kylo promo pics look top notch.
>>6081435
There is no canon Revan. So either depiction of him is equally valid. They are both in the game.
>>6081437
Compare MAFEX Wonder Woman to her promo pics. Go ahead, we'll wait
>>6081437
>promo pics
Yeah okay
Who is Revan and why do you all give a shit?
>>6081428
>there isn't one
Then quit your bitching.
You must be a poorfag who has never owned an import if you think MAFEX will do better
>>6081443
That looks like adam driver cosplaying as wonder woman?
>>6081446
He's the main character of a video game all the other people in this thread have stupid amounts of nostalgia for
I don't totally get it either but hey as long as this makes Sabine not the most sought-after of the wave
>>6081439
The debate is over the incorrect use of the term head canon. Pay attention, kid.
>>6081454
>not fucking with the best star wars era
>>6080176
How did you make the cape?
>>6081414
Get a bootleg, seriously.
I bought one from Aliexpress and I can't tell it apart from the real thing.
>>6081439
But only one the white male is the true storyline. Sorry bud. I know you like to play female vidya characters because you are mentally ill but revan was never female in any official capacity, only in your head storyline.
>>6081457
>t. Pedophile who unironicly enjoys a kids show criticizes others taste
>>6081488
I heard tell that they basically explode in your hand from being cheap Chinese shit
EU was never any good anyway
>>6081498
It's not headcanon, it's a multiverse. ;_;7
>>6081493
Don't listen to memers.
The black series bootlegs are great.
>>6081498
There are certain aspects of the old EU that were cool and it would be cool if some of them were reintroduced in some way, but yeah overall it was just a bunch of bullshit
>>6081488
My biggest problem is that the OT black series stormtrooper just wasn't very good in the first place. The rogue one troopers are actually pretty amazing, even without double elbows. The hovertank pilot is straight up one of my favorite toys, and easily one of the best in the line. They missed a pretty great opportunity to update the original with what they've learned over the last couple years of the line.
There were way more classic stormies than shoretroopers in rogue one anyway, it's just weird to not have any of them at all on the shelves.
>>6081502
This 100%. I'll take losing the good stuff if it gets rid of complete bullshit like luuke, and chewbacca losing a fistfight with a moon.
>>6081418
Looks like shit bro.
>>6081510
>My biggest problem is that the OT black series stormtrooper just wasn't very good in the first place.
Yeah, I only use them to pad out my collection cause Mafex's are too expensive to be army builders.
>>6081510
>luuke, and chewbacca losing a fistfight with a moon.
Plz explain this sounds like the darkest parts of EU wankery
>>6081510
>OT black series stormtrooper just wasn't very good in the first place
How so?
I couldn't stand any single elbow jointed figure while I actually liked the troopers. Not the most posable things but better than what followed.
>>6081194
K2 looking a lot like Zenyatta there
>>6081522
Luuke was an evil clone of Luke grown from DNA taken from the hand he lost on Bespin, who also wielded the lightsaber lost in that battle
Chewbacca was killed when the Yuuzhan Vong pulled a planet's moon down to the surface destroying the planet and crushing Chewie
>>6081539
No, Han died. Cherie just got mad and shot at Kylo. That happened. That happened and everything else you've described didn't.
>>6081481
You have to cut the plastic one off, it's glued down. I used fabric from a flight suit I got at the surplus store to work on my car. Cut it, ironed it, tacked it and glued it down. I love him so much more now
>>6081529
I had the first run stormtrooper and sandtrooper, and both of them are kind of a mess. There's a weird mix of gloss and matte plastic that hasn't aged well, they hadn't solved the problem of how to make hips get past the pouches yet, and the T-joint the hips are on was rickety as hell. Everything from the waist down is just a mess to be honest, they've gotta be the hardest 6" figures I own to get to actually stand up.
I sold the sandtrooper when he started going for nuts prices, no regrets.
>>6081522
What >>6081539 said, pretty much. As much cool stuff as there was, it always had to coexist next to garbage like that. Starting over and cherrypicking the good content was the best way.
>>6081547
Disney fanfiction isn't real, sorry.
>>6081549
>>6081194
Guys, don't sleep on the Premium Elite figures. picked this guy up for $28 leafbucks, i love it.
>>6081547
In the current canon, yes.
I'm talking about the old bullshit EU
Figuarts Scarif Trooper is damn good.
Revan is $20 again. Backordered but in stock. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AWFKM7S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_TAzwyb88SRZKT
Does anyone have any pics of the Darth Vader model kit with the Black Series soft goods applied to it? I'm wondering if I should give that a shot.
>>6081579
>>6081579
It can hit any firing pose easily, it can even get a cheek weld.
>>6081393
THIS. Entertainment Earth seems to be on a roll with their 4 packs so why not do one that makes sense?
>>6081580
Be that the proper link? I just see the $44 price
>>6081590
It was. He's gone already though.
>>6081598
Of all the rubbish luck.
>>6081591
It's soft plastic so not bad at all. It can hit crouching poses with ease.
>>6081553
Box Office numbers don't lie. Besides the EU was stupid. Felt more like the Chronicles of Riddick than Star Wars
>>6081616
Your shitty movie made money like Transformers movies. You don't have room to talk about what sucks or not. And TFA is definitely Transformer levels of "good."
>>6081454
>stop bitching Malcolm Mcdowell figure is perfect
>>6081194
so is Black Series k2 worth it? I love the design of the robot.
>>6081617
Which would be? It looks exactly like the movie just not as weathered.
>>6081625
yes
>>6081626
Faceplate it too skinny and the baggy cheeks are what make it look off and that is the sole reason I passed on this figure
>>6081625
He's... Weird. He's absolutely one of the best in the line, he's huge, he's really limber and doesn't really suffer for it in stability. On the other hand, his joints are made of rubber bands and I constantly feel like his limbs are about to start falling off, particularly the hips. I'd wholeheartedly recommend him though, he's a steal at 20 and you can usually find him for less.
>>6081640
>On the other hand, his joints are made of rubber bands
Not sure what this is supposed to mean exactly but I don't think it describes mine at all
>>6081639
I get the faceplate thing although I don't think theres a big enough difference for it to be an issue, but what do you mean by baggy cheeks?
>>6081619
You're just mad because your stupid EU is confirmed dead after being glorified fan fiction for years.
You can cry about the current state of things but no amount of autism is going to revive that garbage.
It's dead. Period. The EU is dead and nobody will ever love you. Some things are just fact.
How bout everybody shut the fuck up about EU? Shit's as dead as disco
>>6081640
I do wonder why he feels exactly like a neca figure. Cheap plastic?
We will see if he stands the test of time
>>6081562
Woah man, did you go to Argos too? Are you a Brit?
I literally went to Argos a few days ago and got the exact same figures!- Phasma and Jango Fett.
I picked up the TBS 3 3/4" from ASDA and they were on sale for £8. Only had Han and Finn but at last new figures!.
They aren't that exciting though.
>>6081653
The bags under the eyes are a bit too big from what I can tell.
>>6081659
Grand Admiral Thrawn disagrees.
>>6081659
To be fair, the EU is what kept Star Wars alive for so long just enough to keep both interest and toy figures in constant production.
>>6081699
the EU is also what turned Star Wars from a popular movie series into an unrecognizable hodgepodge of contradictory self fellation fantasy stories clung to like holy writ by unwashed nerds.
Star Wars is better as a main stream franchise.
>>6081659
Good thing you're wrong, then, isn't it?
>>6081702
The movie series is lackluster and you know it.
>>6081702
Sure,
Tell me if you'll enjoy the Death Star #999993943
>>6081702
Huh? Everyone I know, including myself, treated the EU as just nice side stories that were always seperate from the actual films. Like those early Resident Evil novels from SD Perry, they were nice stories that took place within the same universe but they were always removed from the "actual" RE world as presented within the game media when discussing the franchise.
>>6081551
I must have picked up some later ones as I never had that gloss/matte issue.
I didn't find the hips too much of a problem either so unless they fixed them or I got really lucky cause I never found them hard to stand.
If only they did some more troopers with double elbow joints, I'd have been all over them. As such I passed all the single elbow joint figures off to a younger family member.
>>6081655
>all this projecting
>>6081708
>Everyone I know, including myself,
Your anecdotal evidence proves nothing. The fact is EU was treated as canon, and has been made canon thanks to people like Dave Filoni. So suck it.
>>6081707
I think there's only three
>>6081690
I did notice a pretty glaring paint apps error after the fact btw, under the left eye the black line goes straight across instead of following the groove. Some chinese factory worker must be fed up.
Got my MAFEX Vader in the mail today, shits fire
>>6081754
Pose and post anon.
Remember when these threads were about Star Wars toys and not bitching about canon? This is like the 3rd thread in a row.
>>6081757
It's almost like a canon ruining movie just came out or something.
>>6081754
>>6081756
Pardon the dust
>>6081758
What did it ruin about the canon for you?
>>6081765
He's probably some stupid fucking Kyle Katarn fanboy.
>>6081758
EU was never canon, at best it was sanctioned fan fiction. Either way it's dead. Get over it or take it to /tv/ because no matter what you have to say about the current direction it will never be as stupid as this fucking argument over and over again.
>tfw Commander Cody gets a 6 inch black series but not our boy Captain Rex

>>6081839
What list? The list of people tired of this gagglefuck? I'm here for toys not the constant whining of EU fanboys.
>>6081808
He's in Rebels so there's already some figures of him on the shelves again.
>>6081844
Fucking christ really. Uggghhhhh fuck rex total mary sue and now hes been in countless star wars media.
>>6081792
I hear ya. I'm gonna be disappointed if the do a 6" old man Rex before we get one in his prime
>>6081835
Only problem is the lines on the helmet. I havent seen that on any of the other Scarif Trooper pics so I assume mines just an unfortunate outlier. It should be an easy fix but if for some reason I'm not able to do so I'll just unload it for cheap and get another. The rest of the figure is way too good to give up on it because of some off panel lines.
Oh BTW that ammo pouch on the side is articulated, it rotates.
>>6081851
Well Hasbro mentioned this before Rex was even in Rebels, I think we got some confirmation that it was TCW Rex anyway.
>>6081553
Remember when Ferb turned to the dark side and Perry the Rebelpus was frozen in carbonite?
>>6081498
>implying Rogue One and the Darth Vader comic aren't the only good things about the new canon
Most of Disney's canon is shit, too.
>>6081857
Panel line overrun is very easy to fix, just grab a fresh white pencil eraser and very gently and slowly rub the excess off.
>>6081860
Goddamn Disney...
Having said that, where's the Zootopia crossover? Nick would look cute in Han getup.
>>6081842
The list... The list..
THE LIST OF JERICHO
YOU STUPID IDIOT!
How are the Black Series Commander Cody and Bossk figures?
How are the articulation and paint apps?
>>6081869
That's exactly what I'm planning on doing, thanks for the tip.
Also, does it have to be white? As in I shouldn't use a regular pink eraser on it?
>>6081770
>dead
Nigger are you retarded? Sure, Disney is impementing it's own fiction, but not everything is dead. Maul returning, Thrawn and republic commandos all became canon. I'm not saying we should hope for retcons and shit, but stop trying to be edgy by glorifying shit live action writing.
>>6081909
Somebody skipped their nap today.
It's dead. Whatever elements of it that get adopted into the canon become exactly that, canon. Otherwise it's dead; no more valid than whatever scenario you shit out whenever you're not jerking off to Mara Jade slash.
Your problem is that you actually gave a shit about that mess.
>>6081893
I'd recommend white simply because you can never know how red, green, etc will react with whatever's on the figure.
>>6081562
Picked this one up yesterday, he's pretty nice. Articulation is pretty trash thanks to the suit, but he looks nice in the poses you can get.
I just hope they do stormtroopers too
>>6081913
>It's dead.
It's really not. It's sad that you accept whatever Disney tells you.
>>6081918
It's dead. Disney owns it, Disney decides what's canon. Disney says its dead.
It's one thing to have a preference but outright denial is sad, Anon.
Get your life together.
>>6081297
that would make my fucking year, as long as it is done well.
>>6081914
Got it, I'll pick up a white eraser then, thanks again anon.
>>6081876
please
>>6081876
Super nice, I have both and they're some of my favorites. Cody pairs well with any and all clones, Bossk just works so well on his own it doesn't really matter who you put him with.
Stopped by gamestop, found Darth Revan on the table. Picked up two Tank pilots at Tru and two scarif leaders at Target all on sale.
>>6081876
Bossk has standard Black series articulation. You can do anything crazy with him, but he is fine to stand around chilling with Boba.
>>6082007
Found Luke and han stormtroopers with the walgreens C3PO also on sale.
>>6081927
Disney doesn't know shit from mud.
Just walked in to GameStop and picked up MAFEX Darth Malgus and Black series Kreia. Got the last Figuarts Greivious from Barnes and Noble before swinging by WalMart grabbing the Rancor exclusive and Figuarts Dooku.
>>6082013
Doesn't change the fact that they own it and there ain't shit you can do about it.
Get over it
>>6082019
Blow me. We've made sure they can't escape the EU. It's as strong as ever.
>>6082017
Its funny because a Figures Rancor would only be like a quarter inch taller than everyone else
>>6082024
The only thing reminding anyone that it ever existed is you retards crying about it here rather than in /tv/
Nobody gives a shit about where Thrawn originated. For all anyone knows or cares he was created for Rebels because only the purest neckbeards ever cared about the EU
EU or not, I'd buy the fuck out of Thrawn and any other Imperial officer.
>>6081762
the helmet looks weird
>>6082048

>>6082054

;_; this will never happen and youve hurt me
>>6082040
>purest neckbeards ever cared about the EU
>in a line that sold hundreds of thousands, if not millions of figures each per wave
I didn't realize we could actually support an entire mass market line all by ourselves.
Where's my Dark Force Rising wave?
You know what hurts me? The fact that we were actually getting EU figures waves only as the comic packs just five years ago.
>>6082070

really?
>>6082080
There were spacetroopers in a New Hope, too.
>>6082076
Like i said, Comic Packs were essentially the same thing, but with better articulation.
>>6082070
Man, the newer EU wave was incredible. It sucks that it was a TRU exclusive.
>Star Wars isn't dead
Hope you enjoy your yearly movies form now on. See you when Episode XX The Revenge of Skywalker's Great Great Great Grandson

>>6082124
Isn't the phrase "purest neckbeard" an oxymoron?
>>6082126
I ventured into a Disney store for a gift as I was passing by one in a mall and I saw these Elite Series figures. Paint looked pretty good and they're die cast for $25 so I figured I grab one to give as a Christmas present. Is the articulation dogshit or something? I had never heard of these things before I saw them today.
Who all the real Star wars fans that grew up with this book their collection???
>>6082232
Heavy and due to the amount of diecast won't age that well but beyond that they are fine. You don't hear much because they are basically like black series figures but casted in metal rather than plastic
>>6081916
They've got a Deathtrooper
>>6082233
I love, love, love those books. I have the fully updated copy that's thick and heavy as fuck, too.
>>6082218
GI Joe Extreme was a shitty line
>>6082233

>>6082232
It's absolute trash
>>6082218

Was the Jango movie realization ever released or did I miss it or something?
Got the Die cast Vader at the Disney store and I'm loving him.
What should I be paying for a Mafex Boba Fett?
>>6082218
I feel such nostalgia for these POTF2 figures. I grew up towards the end of the first POTF era. I had like, a chewbacca figure and an ewok plush, and that was the extent of my star wars toys. When the POTF 2 series came out, I got all of my favorite characters. Even had a couple of the vehicles.
>>6082235
what do you mean by aging well? Like wear and tear? or appearance wise?
>>6082418
45-50
>>6082235
> diecast won't age that well
>a droid's paint chipping away over time
u dum
Authentic wear will eventually look better than Hasbro's, but as it is in the package, it looks worse. Almost as plain and cheaply painted as Bandai's.
>>6082418
I just paid 60 with a smile
>>6082418
Whatever feels right for you, anon.
Trust your instincts.
Scored this guy with BS Boba Fett, K-2SO, and Disney Elite K-2SO all for $50. I think I did pretty good
>>6081624
No one is fucking saying that you sperg.
>>6081655
Have fun with a main character that can't emote to save her life and is a bigger Mary Sue than Anakin and Luke combined.
Oh, and the fact that Luke will probably be weakened severely like old man Kenobi, and to make (Ma)Rey look awesome and grrrl powr.
>>6082235
What on earth were they thinking doing that? Why would anyone choose die cast over plastic?
Good think all you virgins support the Amazon business model where they allow 3rd partys to purchase their inventory and resell to virgins pay $40+ for trash figures with crappy paint apps. Be a good slave.
Okay, So Jaina won the 6" TBS poll, I'd like to collect most of the 3 3/4 " and fill some big holes in my collection.
-Would it be wise to pick up Jaina 3 3/4" now before the Six inch and then the "Normie" rush? The price will surely surge right?
-How much will it set me back? How much should I expect to pay? UK here so any tips would be appreciated.
>>6082744

>contradictory self fellation fantasy stories
How can you call yourself a Star Wars fan but not realize this is actually what the whole series is??
>>6082744
> Before the normie rush
Looks like they're already here.
>>6082789
I meant in regard to the aftermarket.
Bespin Luke went up because people were buying him for the lightsaber for Rey/Finn.
>>6081881
Drink it in, man
>>6082577
wow, nice.
>>6081613

I meant kneeling, I bet it actually could hit a crouching pose though, I've never tried it before.
>>6082218
That gun arm is really fun to play with. Everyone should buy this on ebay. <$5
>>6082363
I really want to pick this up but his helmet just isn't long enough at the back and it really bugs me
I haven't seen this mentioned here, but Hot Toys is doing a sixth scale Dengar figure which goes up on pre-order tomorrow, I just wish I could afford it.
>>6083153
get a job
>>6083153
Flexpay my dude.
I think bandai realized they fucked up on the sizing for the blasters that came with the FO troopers last year, and went too far in the other direction. But then their heavy blaster is the same size as the black series so I guess I don't even know what's going on.
How are the Metacolle Star Wars figures?
Anyone here have experience with them?
>>6081194
Parents are getting me an ArtFX Captain Phasma from Gamestop, should I be hyped?
>>6083205
I noticed the Shoretrooper and RO Stormtrooper don't reuse the same blaster. They made different models.
>>6083258
No, it's a plastic statue of a character whose crowning achievement is getting dumped in a trash compactor
>>6083267
But my FO army needs to rise... =(
So I got to looking for a sandtrooper from the black series today, and jesus these prices are so high! I take it there is something autistic making this figure so much? Can anybody more informed give the run down on why it's $50+ ?
>>6083274
He was one of the first figures to be released in the line, he's two+ years old now, and as far as I know the black series doesn't do reissues aside from stuff that carried over wave to wave. It's just supply and demand at this point.
>>6083274
It's because he's #01 and that's it. So, you were correct, the reason is indeed autistc. Well, it's also the only way to get the orange pauldron.
>>6083266
Huh, I knew they looked slightly different but I just chalked it up to artistic license. Cool. I still think it looks a little small in his hands, but the bigger one is badass so I'm gonna be using that 90% of the time anyway.
>>6083281
The TFA snowtrooper commander came with orange pauldrons and shelfwarmed pretty hard, I bought a couple for <10 just for their pauldrons.

There is an EE exclusive pack that had a white pauldron Sandtrooper. I picked it up for 50 the other day, it's the exact same except for the pauldron color.
>>6083258

Sorry anon, I'm getting sweet figures
>>6083288
It's a different, more modern pauldron. I am looking for a snowtrooper officer for that reason myself
hey guise, new to /toy/ anyone know when the admiral raddus figure is due out?
>>6083388
You mean the 3.75", right? He's due sometime in January
I'm pretty happy with sabine, and she's probably my favorite out of the wave so far. One big thing I like is how she's in scale with kanan and presumably hera, instead of their other attempts at making women like rey, ashoka and jyn. Being another womanlet would have sucked.
Her face paint isn't amazing, but I guess it's above average.
My K2 just came in and the fucking leg is slightly warped so he can't even stand up on his own. Also, the paint is a complete sloppy mess

>>6083568
The regular one with the ammo pouch on the belt is a walmart exclusive, the one with the waistcoat is the regular release.

Actually, since I'm seeing that the Figuarts aren't going anywhere, should I go for those? I just want some trooper variation on my Imperial Army shelf.
I know you shouldn't buy Figuarts if you're trying to army build, but it would probably just be these guys.
>>6083205
Which one is black series and which one is figuarts?
>>6083642
With the Scariff Troopers I really don't understand the logic with Hasbro (as always) and the coloured one being the regular release.
Anyone know who's getting it here in the UK?

Revan up again.
>>6083648
Are you blind?
>>6083680
>We're sorry. The item Star Wars The Black Series Darth Revan is no longer available from the seller you selected.
>>6083646
Honestly, I'd throw in one of the figuarts just for variation, especially if they get cheaper. I've only had mine for the day, and a good chunk of that was spent digging in his shoulder to remove some mold flash, but he's very nice. I'll probably pick up the hovertank commander when he's out, as I like that design a lot more and it looks like they got the body right.
+as much as I'm ok with hasbro elbows, double jointed ones are straight up better and you don't have to finagle them as much to get him to hold his gun.
+Articulation all around is generally better, like you'd expect. It's basically what you're paying extra for.
+Drop down hips make it easier for him to move his legs. Kneeling seems to be harder than with the black series though, somehow.
-Like the FO trooper last year, he has weak feet. They have great side to side range, but extremely limited forward/backward, and the toes are molded in a permanent upward curve that makes them a little unstable.
-He doesn't have that crazy ab joint the FO trooper did. His torso range is just good.
=He's a little shorter than the black series, which I'm cool with as a little height variation looks good like you said.
Armybuilding something that costs 4.5k isn't great, but depending on how much it'd cost you to import the grunt, the figuarts might be an easier buy.
>>6083648
The figuarts are on top, respectively. They're unpainted, made of a much harder plastic, and the triggerguard is a solid piece.
>>6081503
The empire needs to start enforcing leg day judging by that figure
>>6083657
It seemed weird to me at first too, but I kind of get it. The cooler, more colorful version is the wide release because it's an easier sell. Hasbro's stated in the past that how attractive things look on shelves is a factor for their production. I have both, and honestly the regular one does pretty drab in comparison. If someone showed me both and said I could keep one based on first impressions, I'd choose the squad leader. You'll notice the hovertank guy is an exclusive too.
>>6083694
I just noticed that the Figuarts has the blue markings on his armor, which I think is meant to indicate rank, because the Black Series walmart ones don't have it.
So I think I'll grab a couple of black series and the Figuarts can be their commander.
>>6083706
It's also funny that the non exclusive one is going for more on Amazon than the exclusive.
>>6083706
I guess, they both look cool. WIth the Regular one, the drabness I really like- Army building would be fun to do in 3 3/4" (not like that's possible now in the UK).
I saw the Tank Pilot and thought he looked crap, the body looked good but the plastic helmet looked gummy and not really defined. It ruins it.
>>6083708
I guess hasbro and bandai were going off different info, because both their efforts are a little different. The figuarts has the grunt belt, but with the commander's stripes. On the other hand, we've probably put twice as much thought into it just now as anyone involved in actually making it. Buy what looks cool.
>>6083729
I think someone a couple threads ago pointed it out, but the hovertankers helmet really looks like a first draft compared to the shoretrooper. The blast visor or whatever it's supposed to be is just molded into the top of the helmet, where it's actually a sculpted second piece on the shoretrooper. I prefer the way the tankers looks, but yeah, it's amateur hour in comparison.
Also, has anyone here got their hands on figuarts K-2SO yet? I passed on him at the last minute because he was too short, but he's looking pretty nice from what I've seen so far.
I guess I can't have the figurarts be my Black Series' commander after all. I don't get you, figurarts.
The difference between the black series and figuarts stormtrooper isn't this bad. Even the size difference between the Jangos isn't this bad.
What are they doing?
Wait, what the fuck is this?
>>6083777
A blaster.
>>6083708
>>6083756
only red arm armor = Trooper (Black Series Walmart exclusive)
+ kama + some blue paint = Lieutenant (Black Series Regular release)
no kama + magazine pack on the hips + the more blue paint than Lieutenant = Commander/Captain (Figuarts)
>>6083774
The Bandai model kit has accessories and decals to make all three versions, and their scale is really good to combine with Black Series.
>>6083777
Disney recycling the "double-barreled weapon" design trend from the TFA Flametroopers like how they recycled the "no mouth helmet" design trend from TFA troopers for all new imperial troopers.
>>6083774
Figuarts have always been a bit on the small side compared to Black Series. What's really weird is some of the Prequel stuff is scaled perfectly (e.g. Clone Trooper, Mace).
>>6083783
I think he's talking about the fact that the triggerguard isn't hollowed out
>>6083777
Looks like a gun from when Hasbro was cheaping out with GI Joes in the 90s.
Lack of paint, solid color, and the trigger guard filled in because they didn't want ot pay for the extra cavities.
Cheap.
Any cheaper and they'd just leave it on the sprue.
>>6083774
>>6083777
I really don't think the size difference is that bad. I hadn't seen any reviews before I opened him up, and I didn't even notice it for a while. It does give me pause on the renewal OT stormtrooper next month though, I'd really like those to be fucking perfect considering it's their second try.
The gun thing, I'm not sure how I feel about yet. My main gripe is that the filled-in triggerguard means it's a pain to use them with other 6" stuff.
>>6083833
How easy is it to get the head off, and does anything else fit on there?
>>6083839
I was going to say, both have their pros and cons from that picture but the Fig on looks too clean.
I like the helmet because that's lacking in the Hasbro one but the Black series one look better with the mud/dirt.
>>6083843
I think the Hasbro ones look better, because the panel lining on the Bandai one just makes it look like a cartoon
>>6083833
At least the figuarts doesn't look mushy like the Hasbro ones, especially in the helmet.
>>6083833
Man the figurart looks bad.
Figuarts dropping the ball non stop lately. Man it's been so long since I bought one and like it

When the fuck are Black Series Qui-Gon and Lando coming out?
>>6083891
Go find the figure and see it in person, instead of judging a poorly lit photograph where you can barely make out the lines on the helmet.
It's not mushy at all.
It's a really good sculpt.
>start watching rebels
>it's actually really good
The fact that they've released 3 Black Series Rebels characters already , and Ezra isn't one of them is literally a troll move.
I'm less than impressed with kanan and Ahsoka but Sabine is awesome.
I hope we get young and old versions, as well as blinded bearded kanan.
Oh yeh is Ezra grow up to beKylo ren? Pretty sure he's not but I wish he was.
>>6084102
>I hope we get young and old versions, as well as blinded bearded kanan
There's a guy on ebay selling a blind kanan head. I think the beard and mustache are too much, but the head is basically the only difference for S3 kanan.
>Oh yeh is Ezra grow up to beKylo ren? Pretty sure he's not but I wish he was.
wat.
So what do you guys think is the absolute best rancor figure?
Need more droids in this thread.
>>6084102
Kanan is my favourite BS figure!
What don't you like about it?
>>6081194
I haven't bought much TFA toys due to their price markup in Singapore...but I managed to snag Rey's Speeder Bike(3.75") for an amazing deal of 92% off its MSRP!
It's from Lazada, a shitty, unreliable Malaysian/Singaporean imitation of Amazon. Comparing the prices and SKUs on their site, it seems that they confused the 3.75" vehicle for the small Titanium series figure. I have been wondering for the past few days about which version of the bike is going to show up and WOW.
>>6084113
Funny I tried to remove Kanan's head just the other day and almost ripped his entire neck off. Heating it up just made it even worse as the neck got super gummy. Never did get the head off.
>>6084132
I think his articulation sucks. I wish he had a bicep swivel and double elbows. Oh and a laterally rocking wrist. Awful an crunch. Last but not least I hate that his collar hinders his neck. Don't get me wrong, I like him okay but he's far from the best in the line
>>6081762

Trust me I would if any were available in my area, I haven't seen a single one of these fuckers.
What's going on with the Hot Toys Rogue One Vader? It was on Amazon for preorder and now it's "currently unavailable". Was interested in getting it because it's cheaper than the New Hope one and apparently poseability is better with the hands. But if it's all of a sudden not available the New Hope version might be my only option.

I'm getting him as a gift on Christmas Day
>>6075097
We need more 1/6 toys like this to compete with expensive adult collector figures like Sideshow and Hot Toys, I'm all for this.
Apparently its a newly launched line exclusive to the Disney store, called Star Wars Elite Series Premium figures and they seem to be in the 10-11" range, so they might end up looking a little short when posed next to a proper Sideshow or Hot Toys 12" figure but with a Medicom figure might just be same size.
Anyways for those who love 1/6th but hate how expensive it is with prices in the $150+ range this is a good alternative.
This Rey figure is only $35 for instance, sculpt and detailing is surprisingly good for that price range.
...still out of my price range though
>>6084825
These soft goods look better than anything Hasbro has done desu
>>6084826
>>6084825
>>6084826
>>6084830
The face makes her look like a cosplayer doing a spot on rey, and that lightsaber is comically oversized. Still, this looks really good for $35, so I'm wondering what the articulation/joint quality is like. I don't fuck with 1/6th stuff, but I'd give these a shot if I did.
>These soft goods look better than anything Hasbro has done desu
Soft goods are always going look janky at 1/12th scale. Even mezco stuff looks a little weird, and they've been doing it since the dawn of time.
>>6084834
If you have the money for Hot Toys you probably have the money for this, I'm just glad that we are finally getting non-Sideshow/Hot Toys 10"+ scale figures again because Hasbro stopped making theirs a while ago. And while those are impressive they are expensive as fuck and more and more hobbyists are getting priced out of 1/6 scale that they love.
So this seems a good compromise, at least for the ones that dont look like shit.
The Darth Vader one doesnt look that good.
>>6084840
80% of the cost of a usual 1/6th is the head sculpt alone, I dont mind if they arent that great so long as the price is lower
Not bad.
>>6084840
Wave 1 of these figures is on sale for $20 each. They for sure seem like a steal at that price
>>6081455
>Adam Driver Cosplaying as Wonder Woman
Maybe Mafex Kylo will look like Gal Gadot cosplaying as Kylo Ren and you can do a head swap.
>>6084858
But nothing compared to this
Hggngn
Since Black Series R2 is rape pricing now, what's the best affordable R2 to get for my Black Series 3PO?
>>6084853
Like I said, I'm not into 1/6th, and I guess articulation isn't as big of a concern in that realm since they're mostly supposed to look good? But yeah, the heads look good enough, just not really like what they're supposed to. It's a different compromise than the usual black series "at least you tried" faces.
>>6084859
I actually didn't realize they sold these online, that's pretty cool as I figured you'd have to go ebay or something if you didn't have a disney store in your area. Where are you seeing 20 though?

I had been thinking about pulling the trigger on the entire wave, but it looks like I missed out on that. Damn. Time for all the Christmas deals to dry up and start raping the last minute shoppers.
As a side note, Vader is the only one of these figures that's selling at all
>>6084868
>best
>affordable
Pick one, cause the Mafex is the best 1:12 scale R2 available right now.
>>6084894
I like my model kits. I only wish I had got the newer kit with BB instead of that other retard
>>6084898
What's the difference?
>>6084690
Like the other anon said yeah it is
>>6084894
My issue with the model kit is it looks far too clean and needs a good wash to bring out the panel lining details, which is great if you're proficient with model painting but sadly I'm not.
The amazing detail and drinks tray accessory from Jabba's sail barge sold me on the Mafex R2. Also his head is removable and the light part is translucent so it's really easy to put a red LED inside.
>>6084902
I'm almost scared to ask, but how bad does the front of his robe fuck with his legs?

Not that anon, but the silver/gray plastic used in the R2/R5 kit is nicer than the plastic used in the R2/BB8 kit. The BB8 kit uses a much lighter tone of gray plastic that is way more apparent that it is plastic from a distance. The R5 kit has a darker, slightly more metallic gray that, while it does have more evident swirling/marbling in places, is nicer looking at a distance and contrasts sharper against the white plastic.
If you're going to be going whole-hot on the kit and filling/sanding/painting, just get the R2/BB8 kit, but if you just want to put it together and slap some stickers on it, get the R2/R5 kit. Or get the R2/BB8 kit if you're biased against R5.
I was at Belk's/Bell's today for some last minute Christmas shopping when I came across these two old gents...
Yes, those are 17 year old action figures still being sold at a retail store!
>>6085102

and better painted than what Hasbro sells now
>>6084853
Is this out already?
Also is there plans for a figuarts jyn? anyone got news on that?
>sorry, don't follow figuarts news that close
>>6084086
Eh it's still pretty soft even with good lighting. The Black Series helmets are also a little oversized.
>>6083908
If you bought a Figuarts expecting it to be the same size as black series you're a fucking idiot. The Figuarts Scarif Trooper is better than the Black Series in all aspects. The only thing off about it is the lines under the eyes are a fraction of an inch further down from where they should be, big deal.
>>6084904
My threepio's arm exploded out of the box and falls apart so easily. Other than that he's perfect.

I waited for the 3-pack so I can get her along with the Death Trooper and the brown-jacketed Cassian instead.
Surprisingly, watching Rogue One actually made me want to collect the entire team.
>>6085715
I greyed out his hair as that light reddish brown color they gave him was weird. But I agree, I really dig him. Hopefully old man Luke is decent when VIII hits.
>>6085787
Who carries the three pack?
>>6085801
Target. I kind of want it too, though mostly for cassian. I can't stand the parka the regular release comes with. Hopefully it'll clearance like their marvel 3-packs.
Heads-up: Disney Store is doing a Christmas sale, I got Elite Darth Vader for $20 rather than $35. For the price it's a great figure, only issue is I wish it was articulated enough to put his hands on the belt, and the chain around his neck is REALLY big. Otherwise, good figure for the price.
found an ahsoka 3.75"

Rey, i think there's something on your face...
Old Ben Kenobi arrived today.
Now I can be happy knowing I have a Luke, a Vader, and Punished Kenobi. He's a damn good figure, for a BS
>>6085291
I did, but only so that I could do this this.
Stopped by Wal-mart earlier and noticed they had their black series 3.75" on clearance for $12 each (I think they were $15 before if I remember correctly). Picked up a death trooper. They had a ton of royal guards too which surprised me, but I passed for now because I only brought so much money with me and I picked up some other stuff along with the death trooper.
My first 3.75" in awhile. I've tried sticking to 6" lately, but seeing as they were a couple dollars off I figured I'd pick one up.
>>6085958

>>6084825
