Got my valkyries yesterday (well, the first shipment, since they had to break it up into two). And they're pretty nice. There's a known issue with the steady cam gunner's helmet where it doesn't fit on his face well, and if it's even a little thinner than normal his nose will break though. I just cut a nose triangle out on mine and now it looks like a skull. It would fit better on a balaclava head though. Haven't really had a chance to take any pictures though.

what's a good (and cheap) camera to take cool photos? my cellphone takes grainy pics. I want one but I don't want to waste 400-700$ on one
>>6071191
Tech has advanced so far that basically any decent digital camera is going to be good enough. I'd just head to walmart or amazon and see what's in your price range. More megapixels and a decent macro mode are probably your biggest selling points for taking pictures of toys.
>>6071191
You don't need expensive cameras to take nice photos, 20-100$ Ebay cameras, even cellphone cameras are good enough, getting a small tripod, some lamps and a cheap lightbox are better investments.
Here are my edgy saboteur sisters.

Not yet, perhaps in the next wave, basic males bodies have 2 variants until now, wave1 has long sleeves, wave 2 has rolled up sleeves
>>6072935
>>Not yet, perhaps in the next wave, basic males bodies have 2 variants until now, wave1 has long sleeves, wave 2 has rolled up sleeves
They also have unarmoured sleeve as an option (same as the Valkyries).
You can see them on the Backwards Ballcap guy in the picture you posted.
>>6073166
And the new males don't have built in shin guards.
>>6073181
unarmored knees are available too
>>6073219
Seriously. Marauders has come a long way and I wish them great success. I hope they do enough sales that all of this keeps being worth it.
Although looking at the fb groups seems like people buy the shit out of these so here's hoping.
I want to make my own tacticool Iron Grenadiers, probably using some Marauder bodies because I think the figure looks too regal, not made for fighting but for parade. Love the helmet tho.
how you rate this idea?
>>6073503
Makes sense. Mix and max some red and black and get some gold paint and you're basically there. You could probably get a decent amount of Grenadier heads from people getting rid of the older less-articulated ones nowadays.
>250 american dollars.
Jesus christ. I wish it looked awful so I could pass on it easily, but it looks really good, even for that price.
I can't wait for this guy
>>6070978
I got the first part of my Valks in, and they're great. Changing the forearms was a bit worrying because their pin joints are *thin*, but it's a nice touch that helps make the figures more unique from each other.
The only problem I had is that the freebie T-shirt torso that was included came with two left biceps. It kinda sucks because I like the T-shirt torso and the messed up arms throw the whole look off...but I don't really want to complain about it because it was a freebie addition.
I definitely want to buy more of these guys though, of both the male and the female stuff.
I also like how the black braided hair head has near exactly the same skin-tone as 50th Stiletto. She looks a LOT better with the Marauder head over her actual tiny pin-head. Sadly the MGRV heads don't seem to work as well on the Cobra Fem-trooper bodies, the neck is too short and the heads just don't sit right.
>>6075120
I'd still let them know, they like to know for QC purposes. They'll probably just tell you you to remind them the next time you order and they'll throw some stuff in.
>>6071254
That Sideshow parade rest on little toys real pisses me off.

>Sadly the MGRV heads don't seem to work as well on the Cobra Fem-trooper bodies, the neck is too short and the heads just don't sit right.

>>6074931
That's cheap.
Here's Hollywood Collectible's which is made of polystone and costs $500. It's also 1:18 scale.
Just bought this thing today, it's massive and Tracter Supply Co had it for 30% off of 80 bucks, all their stuff is and they've got a lot of 1/18-approximate stuff, all on that discount. I'll take some pics tomorrow if I get time.

>>6075687

it's for kids of farmers who want toy replicas of things their parents drive. $80 seems really steep though, but unlike Hasbro, it's probably very well made with lots of metal and paint that actually sticks well to metal. And it's probably huge.
Finally picked up the face huggers on clearance. Not 1/18 but looks good with my joes
>>6076357
What are those? Neca?

>>6071020
>All those successfully-funded Kickstarters
God DAMN it, Hasbro. Mattel. See this? THIS IS DEMAND FOR 1:18 figures!
>>6077962
these are all funded with ~800-1200 or so people aren't they? And they're mostly the same people.
Hasbro already knows they can sell $25 action figures to 1000 people. That's why they're keeping the Club araound.
>>6076408
I'm super impressed with my Hiya, would recommend.
>>6078404
I'm not.
I bought the Marines and Aliens, and they're pretty meh. They not as nice as GI Joes and while they feature more articulation, it's not really useful.
Toy Notch's figures are much better and feel like great quality, aside from the derpy eyes. Better sculpts, better paints, and they're very poseable without looking like Acid Rain's lanklets.
>>6079435
I searched the toy notch page and they don't have the aliens listed and can't find them anywhere. Link?
>>6079630
I think he just mentioned Toy Notch figures as something to compare the Hiya Marines. He probably meant Toy Notch's Lost Planet figures.

Is it just my area, or did ToysRUs sell out of GI Joes?
I saw them in my area for a whole two weeks before they disappeared back in November.
Happy Freeeeeze'mas everyone.
>>6089439
Sold out. They only got 1 case of 2 packs and a case of 3 packs. They sold out in a day. They possibly restocked, but only once and again was cleaned out in a day.
Its been this way for years now. If you are lucky you can get a shelfwarmer like arctic destro or blind master.

>>6089737
Probably. Best bet is bbts if they havent sold out. Tru may restock, but you have to hit them first thing in the morning on the truck day or else another person buys it up.
Maybe one day we will see a whole wall of gi joe products. For now seems most stores are avoiding over ordering anything, and everything is in short supply.
After completing my Urban Commando Snake-Eyes and Cobra Commander I want a Storm Shadow with ankle rockers so I can complete my Ronin Storm Shadow to complement him.
What options do I have? Even H.A.C.K.S. don't have ankle rockers, annoyingly. I've been spoiled by the Marvel "Jim Lee Cyclops" articulation.

I only have a Ghoststriker and a non-diaper crotch 25th ann figure fits perfectly on both seats. Is it the same on the skystriker? I read it has a back peg and a parachute thing. I guess I could do with out them. Would new 30th ann Ace fit in vintage Skystriker?

>>6095220
You can fit most 25th style in vintage stuff with few exceptions.
If anything removing legs may be in order. The seat pegs can be clipped and sanded off, if you dont mind.
Does anyone have both HACKS blanks and Valks? I wanna see some head swaps.
Also, the idea to include a ballcap was brilliant on their part, I'm trying it on all my figures and and figuring out how many I want to order.
>>6095293

>>6095293
This bunch
>>6095556
yeah the recent SDCC Soundwave HISS was an unaltered DTC HISS Tank, they didn't even redo the foot pegs on the back. Lots of vintage stuff has enough space to fit figures, just be aware some modern figures are taller/bulkier/wear armor that make them larger. The better bulkier HISS II can seat modern stuff if you just exclude the waist clips.
Friggin 25th HISS driver can't even fit in his own tank right though, yeah nice Hasbro, glue an obtrusive holster to its leg so it can't even sit in its own intended seat properly.

Best version of the HISS Tank?
And what classic vehicles go well with modern figures? I know I can go to The Corps/True Heroes for good military stuff, but I still want crazy sci-fi bullshit tanks and choppers.
>>6116638
Best version? Pursuit of Cobra's HISS Tank (aka V. 5). The design is just freaking amazing.
However... playing with the modified 50th Anniversary HISS tank that came in the two-pack which is basically the 25th Anniversary HISS but in orange and with a different top gun.
I just love the classic HISS. The HISS 2 is good for a Troop Transport. But I haven't dug into my boxes to look for mine to see how it goes with Modern Joes. But-- I'm getting tempted to go digging for two other tanks of Cobra I have. 1 was an original tank that came out modified during the 50th Anniversary in dark black and grey. I have the original red and tan colored version and always wanted to compare and contrast the two tanks. Then there was this orange tank that Cobra used in the early 90s. I always wanted to see how the Modern Joes would be with that one.
>>6116638
>The Corps/True Heroes for good military stuff
They release some good vehicles once in a while but PTE is the champion of affordable 1/18 vehicles and playsets.
Bbi is of course the most realistic but is really expensive for the old vehicles. Lately they've gone to the gimmick route
>>6116955

I hope they release a cheap version of their bigger vehicles. I mean they already released the M1 Abrams with some bullshit missile launcher action for kids, I wouldn't mind a cheaper Blackhawk with missile launchers or lights etc.
But what I really want is a slick UH-1D, or the long hull version of a Huey. There are gunship Hueys by JSI out there but I want a transport one.
>>6118502
>But what I really want is a slick UH-1D, or the long hull version of a Huey. There are gunship Hueys by JSI out there but I want a transport one.
Heh, just bought another one of those. It used to confuse me as to why 21st Century Toys (whose molds JSI is using) went with the Charlie/Mike model Huey and not a Delta/Hotel model. In hindsight, I'm really happy to have the shorter fuselage gunship, but it's hard to argue the iconic status of the long body models.

http://idlehands1.blogspot.mx/2017/01/toy-fair-2017-lanards-kong-skull-island.html

for example
>>6118100
Is not a "True Heroes" brand plane but it is called "Adventure Force" yet they sell the same vehicles in Mexico.
>>6119621
In the case of Kong, the toys are by Lanard, which is the same company the CORPS line belongs to.
True Heroes/Adventure Force/Soldier Force/US Army/etc. feature molds belonging to Chap Mei. Some are CM's own lines, the others are various companies commissioning CM to produce toys for their brands.

Downside: No hips or knees (Or neck?) joints on your giant, titular character?
>>6119641
Still looks WAAAAAAY more better than Playmates shitty 2K5 toys.
>>6119641
I'm kinda amazed such a minor company picked up the license, but honestly it looks about as good as Hasbro or Mattel would've done, damning with faint praise.
>>6120634
On the bright side, I doubt it'll be more than 30 bucks. Probably not properly scaled for new Kong, but would make a good 33 kong.
>>6120661
I mean, considering how impressed I was with my new 4-dollar corps figure two-pack, I'm sure these will be decently cheap and also decently pose-able. It's just a shame that he won't be able to do anything besides stand.
I'm also disappointed that there aren't any dinosaur toys along with this stuff, but that's more a comment on the movie than the toy brand.

I had this Zartan as a kid. I took him everywhere with me called him "Mohawk man". I would love a modern update.
>>6124155
The fucking best version!
Back then that a figure could store his weapons into himself, like sheaths or whatever, was really fucking rare, so he was one of my favorite cobra figures just because of that. Even though I hated gimmick figures even back then he got a pass because it wasn't as obvious and the gimmick was actually kind of cool.

I don't know how to feel about them, they probably won't deliver this time again.
Maybe I ll just wait for Zombie Lab civilians.
>>6124385
When did they not deliver?
>>6124385
I think the clothes on the zombie lab figures are going to be dirty and tattered and not really useful for non apocalyptic civies.
>>6124385
I bought in on a single figure and am going to do a lab guy as well if it goes through.
Saving my real cash for zombie labs but I do like me some civvies.
I honestly wouldn't mind an Adventure Team stile of male and female explorers so if Marauder makes some "shorts" leg mods I woudl be into those. - and Pith Helmets.

Did anyone else put in a pre-order with Boss Fight for the new armor sets / beige body restock that was supposed to ship last month? Have you gotten them already?
>>6130718
Preordered and listed as paid, but not shipped or even processing. Was hoping for an email or something.
>>6131559
Thanks. I saw that most of the stuff was moved from their preorder page to their regular sales page and was worried they'd forgotten about me.
>>6131569
It is a bit weird to put the sets up for main sale before shipping preorders or emailing anyone, but I think we're all in the same boat right now.
If I bought $15.00 worth of stuff from Marauders how much should I expect for shipping? (I'm US)
I don't like putting in billing information before seeing a shipping quote.
>>6131595
Marauders shipping is usually like 3 bucks. Most of their stuff is just sorted into baggies and put into a larger polybag and shipped in a padded mailer envelope so you won't get fucked on shipping.

Cool, thanks.

Yeah they go for over $200 now.
I'm waiting to see if they re-release it, like the abrams, it don't matter if it is with some kiddie features like said abrams.
>>6134226
They put out a Nightstalker version around 2011 but it was going for close to $200 right out of the gate.
>>6131599
ya. I'm in Canada. The shipping is a bit more than that but still not a dealbreaker.
Haul from the weekend, including the Black Series Poe Dameron. My local TRUs just done their stock-taking and FINALLY marked down the old stuff from last year. Packaging is completely wrecked on all of them but the contents should be alright...hopefully.
>>6134717
i wish my local TRU had GI Joes.
The last time they had them was in November and i never saw them again.
I live in a metro area of millions and go to 3 TRUs that are within five miles of me.
>>6134234
yeah but that was basically the same ultra detailed copter with another paint scheme.
The new up armored humvee for example, doesn't even have windshields but for the price it is very nice. Maybe the re-release blackhawk could have no windshields, less detailed wheels and rotor etc.
Just not be overly simplified like the miniature M113 they released and I would be all over it.
>>6134926
If we're talking simple I don't know why they can't at least do the Little Bird
Ignore pretentious lomography attempt
>>6135067
Oh but they did.
-No windshields
-No passenger compartment
-Stickers
-Missile launchers
>>6135185
I think he's looking for the happy medium that the latest HMMWV strikes with scale, detail and price.
I missed out on the jets. They like $40-$50 at TRU.
Look at this F-16, a small jet but still a big toy. Another company made a 1:18 F-14 Tomcat that was as big as my nuts
The Huey is one of my grails
>>6135305
It's a combination of several things. Cost being the main reason and the fact that I've long given up on finding it for a decent price. Having a family and buying imports doesn't help either.
>>6135275
>>6135331
Are you me? also one of my grails and not much expendable money because I'm not on US and have a family. I have seen it from $110-$120 dollars on the net.
On the other hand, I guess I must feel lucky that I have a friend that lets me use her address to order things though. She comes to my city quite frequently so I get my stuff in a reasonable time all things considered and no customs, yay!.
Stop making me want to collect 1/18. I already have too much shit.
>>6135331
Yeah, the price stings, especially when I remember what original one retailed for back in '01.
>>6134724
>i wish my local TRU had GI Joes.
The last time mine had joes was... when did the movie come out?
>>6134717
>My local TRUs FINALLY marked down the old stuff from last year.
I've been waiting about three years for that on my end...
Are TRUs independently owned and operated or something? How come some have sales to move old products, and some are happy not to have toys newer than last year's pegwarmers?
>>6136250
>Are TRUs independently owned and operated or something? How come some have sales to move old products, and some are happy not to have toys newer than last year's pegwarmers?
Basically, yes, regional management sets the sales prices and stuff like that.
Corporate sets the rules and guidelines for the stores.
>>6136250
>The last time mine had joes was... when did the movie come out?
Joes have been exclusive to TRU for the last few years but limited to one or two pegs. Easy to miss if you're not actively looking for them.
Anyone got the Mezco 4" MKX figures? I think they came out...last month? Saw them in a local shop today, carded. Detailing looks mezco-great but they seem to lack accessories and articulation. Wish Subzero and Raiden's effect parts are cast in clear plastics.
Still wondering if I should pick up just one or all of them.
>>6138155
I actually need 4 of the Scorpions.
Where does one even find Mezco toys? TRU only?
>>6138155
I got Mezco's MK figures like in September and once they sold out, they were gone forever
They're really nicely detailed and painted, but i ended up with one that had a lazy eye. They'er about as poseable as you'd expect from a company who cares more about detail than posebility.
I'd have bought more just to make them into generic ninjas, but gone gone gone.
>>6137159
>limited to one or two pegs. Easy to miss if you're not actively looking for them.
I have been looking. I'm starting to think they're a US TRU exclusive.
>>6139559
Pretty much.
I know BBTS sells em. (Ebay of course)
and I know a couple of places in Toronto Can. that have the some of the previous 50th run.
>>6139917
My LCS has them, but probably because one of its employees raided a TRU.
I wanna replace Roadblock's hands, do any other Joes use the same ones?
>>6141778
Same ones minus the hamfist I meant to say.
>>6141778
Dunno, but if you wanted a Rock-block with proper hands there's the 3-pack one and this Gun-kata one released later.
>>6141778
the 3 pack version of him is the same figure, and does not have the tab in his hand.
>>6142363
>>6141778
this one
>>6134166
There's something out there waiting for us and it ain't no man. We're all gonna die.
>>6141800
I cheated and gave him hands from the Jurassic Park "Mercenary" you can get on Chinabay. Which is also The Rock.
>>6142368
I have that guy and wanted to keep him intact. I was hoping for something I could get cheap just for the hands. Maybe Night Adder would work.
any one else got the new up-armored humvee from Elite Force aka Bbi?
I just opened mine yesterday and noticed the mirrors, which are separate pieces you snap on to the hull, are not aligned, the one on the driver side is way lower than the passenger side one which seems to be at the correct height.
also noticed that what appears to be the shift stick is on the middle, near to the back passenger side, behind the driver.
>>6138155
Does the 4 inch scorpion feature unmasked face?
>>6145243
Nope, most of the accessories from that early toyfair pic did not make it.
>>6138155
I went and bought the ninjas. I can't emphasize more how good Mezco's stuff is. I thought the waists would be simple swivels at most, but nope, they both use ball joints and can rock 5 degrees front/back. The sculpt is crazy good when you start noticing the fabric and leather details.
>>6138180
My Sub-zero has a lazy left-eye too.
TRU Heroes doing exo-skeletons now.
So you can stick your 1:18s in there and reduce them to 5POA...
>>6145268
>>6145243
Doesn't look like the 4" figures ever came with any of those accessories.
You probably only saw the 6" ones
>>6146889
Even that picture doesn't represent the final products well... The actual accessories that comes with Raiden and Sub Zero are cast in opaque plastic and the base stands are unpainted.
>>6146882
exo-skeleton
Looks more like some kind of Hannibel Lecter-esque restraint harness.
Why the FUCK is this $50
>>6074931

Do the Hiya Marines really suck? Was thinking about getting a Hudson.
What's wrong with them?
>>6147762
>implying Trump doesn't think of adult toy collectors as worthless pansy liberals
>>6148394
They don't suck, but they're pretty mediocre for the price.
GI Joes can pull off better poses than them, despite having less articulation.
I guess you guys might be interested.
>Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S Series 2
>Coming to you Fall 2017
>>6149719
You have no idea how I hunger for this series.
>>6148394
I have all three marines and they are kind of terrible. Hudson and Hicks look nothing like the actors. The helmets are not accurate to what was worn in the movies. The smart gun looks too small. Mine tend to not hold poses well and droop over time.
>>6149719
Vitruvian can do what 4 Horsemen can't.
>>6149719
This looks like what I wanted Mythic Legions to be.
>>6146882
I rather enjoyed Edge of Tomorrow, so I might have to pick these up. Just need to find a 1:18 Emily Blunt...
>>6150116
It was originally planned to be 1/18, but then they changed it to 1/12. I for one was disappointed.
>>6149719
Is that when the Kickstarter is gonna begin or wat?
>>6150316
I don't think it's gonna be a kickstarter, probably pre-order of each wave like they've done with Wave 5&6 of the Greek vs Gorgon theme and new Blank and armor sets.
>>6150326
Oh shit.
So is the entire next wave gonna be knights n shit?
I honestly haven't been keeping up with this series since the launch, but knights are what I was always hoping for so I'm hype if we're gonna be seeing more of that.
>>6150343
Knights, Elves, Orcs...
>>6150343
>>6150392
What are you even talking about?
>>6150350
>>6150354
I've been hyped for Boss Fight's "Dungeons and Dragons Toyline" they couldn't convince Hasbro to make since probably before their first Kickstarter.
It looks killer.
>>6150350
>>6150354
>>6150116
4 Horsemen disappointed a lot of people by switching the Mythic Legion line from 1:18 so you can army build a bunch of fantasy knights and monsters into a 1:12 scale line just to please He Man MotU collectors.
Very disappointing, especially when you consider the fact that they had to dumb their figures down from what was originally promised, like most everything being interchangeable and larger figures needing to be simplified because of weight issues, if they get made at all (little hope for horses, dragons, etc)
>>6150743
Ahh never knew that.
I saw some knight here and there and they looked killer, but not owning any figure in that scale kept me away from buying any. Now I know they could have been 1:18 is really disapointing.
meh, you faggot nerds can have your gay bullshit fantasy.
1:18 20 century wars when?
21st, BBI etc don't count because their figures suck ass.
>>6150972
Hiya did WWII Germans, and hinted at doing Russians. This was all before they landed Alien and Predator, and I imagine hell will freeze over before they go back to military stuff.
I just want some goddamn Vietnam stuff that's articulated like G.I. Joe. WWI would be nice, too.
Since it's weekend and I have some spare time I finally decided to take out my second Knex titan and maybe start giving him some paint. This will be even better than the Atlas since this guy already looks rather nice straight out if the box.
Just love the bulk on this bad boy. Looks like a real heavy hitter
>>6152638
That is a roomy cockpit for something Minifig scaled.
>>6152751
It's only about an inch smaller than what it would be in 1:18 scale.
Just leave out the chair and pretty much any 1:18 figure will fit inside it.
This is my current SWAT based troop loadout. I'm using SWAT themes for Cobra and PMC for joes.
How can I improve on this using marauder parts?
I'm planning to switch out the grenades to the colored flashbangs, replace the top pocket with a radio, replace the upper left vest pocket with another set of nades.
One of them will be given a riot gear face shield, shotgun ammo instead of nades and a shotgun. The rest will be given better rifles and NV attachment for the helmets.
Should I replace some pouches with olive ones to add more visual pop?
>>6155280
>Should I replace some pouches with olive ones to add more visual pop?
I don't think so.
Speaking of swat, where I can find a transparent riot shield?
>>6155838
shock troopers came with transparent shields.
>>6150350
I wish we could get some european knights, though these are cool too.
Is there room in this scale for more sci-fi?
In the future I'd like to move into this scale for it's army building capabilities
