So I just but a bootleg version on Ebay for $15
with free shipping.
What am I in for /toy/?
Did anyone here support the kickstarter or purchase a bootleg? Do you care?
>>
>>6044437
I wanted one, but the price is obscene.

I'd be interested to hear what your bootleg is like.
>>
>>6044437
fuck OP, i didn't knew this existed and now i want one
>>
>>6044438
I will update as soon as I get it
Allegedly it will Arrive before Next Tuesday but I find that hard to believe. A part of me thinks I just parted with $15 and will get nothing. Dude wasn't the fidget cube $22 with shipping? I would pay North of $30 for an original but I just don't want to wait till fucking April.
>>
It's pretty much just a completely useless thing, innit?
It shouldn't be hard to bootleg it.
>>
>>6044444
>fffuuuuuuuuh
>quints
>but fours
kek you can preorder a real one for sometime in april or roll dice with several ebay bootleg options
>>6044449
not according to the kick starter they dressed the bootlegging basically stating
>muh quality control
>muh precision components
>>
>>6044451
addressed* Sorry lads I've been drinking something fierce
>>
>>6044437
OP here gonna tripcode so when I receive my chink shit you guys can check it out
>>
>>6044446
Anything above $20 for a desk toy like this is obscene.

The ideal price point for these would be $15 max.
>>
>>6044465
yeah but you're not factoring in the Asperger/OCD/muhnerdculturefaggots premium
>>
>>6044470
Nope. If they want that to be their market, cool, chinese bootleggers can have everyone else.
>>
>>6044474
I'm with you on that
still I'm wondering what kind of abomination $15 dollars gets me
>inb4 oversized dice with pickachu stickers allover it
>>
>>6044437
fuck that should say bought*
I'm not illiterate. I swear!
>>
>the bootlegs straight up use the exact same colors as the official ones
>no unique styles like translucent or rubberized
>>
>>6044437
Jesus, i remember seeing that kickstarter up there months ago, this thing already has bootlegs? They much have gotten the worst security possible at the factory.
>>
>>6044572
The Kickstarter brought in over six million dollars, of course bootleggers are going to hop on the wagon as fast as possible.
>>
>>6044437
25 bucks for a thingy to fidget with??
no op, you did well, fuck that overpriced shit
>>
>>6044553
I was hoping for glow in the dark or see through purple or some neat shit
>>6044572
I was reading a blog that alleged that the bootlegs where being made in the same place in china with the same materials that's probably a lie but then again with China I don't know what to believe
>>6044588
seriously I wish I had thought of this stupid fucking thing
>>6044605
kek I totally would have paid more than that it's just the wait that I couldn't handle
>>
>>6044588
>six million for a bunch of useless buttons glued to a dice

Even after learning about the other stupid shit people have backed like the potato salad or the usb cooler this is sad to hear
>>
>>6044674
You're forgetting
>muh OCD
I click the shit out of pens and shake my leg alot man and I think this fucking cube would be more satisfying so it makes sense to buy it.
>>
>>6044437
It's a tool for people with mental disabilities lmao.
>>
>>6044713
people with mental disabilities with money*
I mean there's a reason I'm always on /toy/
youknowhatimean?

31KB, 500x183px
>>6044713
It's just another stress ball.
No real difference, except its more complex
>>
>>6044734
what about the $$$
>>
>>6044437
Offering alternatives for a product is good for the market, if people buy the bootleg and it's shit, they'll turn to the better quality one. If the bootleg is great, then either the official either lower their price or improve their product.

Listen, I always considered this thing just a gimmick with no real value, but I was thinking about it now. I have a lot of compulsory habits, like clipping my nails and the flesh on the side, biting them, removing hair with pliers. I get really anxious and annoyed if I don't do these things. You think something like this could work as a substitute?
If anyone is buying for similar reasons let me know how it turns out.
>>
>>6044767
i think i've read a solution to that
you keep bead bracelets in your pocket and count them when you need to
>>
>>6044748
Agreed unless I'm the supplying firm with a patent or someshit
>>6044767
>>6044771
Is that why old ladies move those little beads on rosaries around?
>>
>>6044767
I can relate when biting the skin side by the nail, I never do enough to bleed though. And cracking my knuckles. Plus I have/had hair picking/pulling tendencies when I get anxious, but what stopped is when I had my hair cut short.

Using such gadget might help, just hope that the clickers/button/toggle will satisfy your habits. I had better luck with a nice round stone to hold in my pocket, or popping a Snapple bottle cap as a kid.
>>
>>6044767
Seems like a tactile thing, you're compulsively grooming your hands because you're constantly noticing minute flaws. For me it also sort of stemmed from an oral fixation, and I've found that keeping toothpicks handy has really cut down on how much I bite my nails and cuticles. And since I gnaw on my damn fingers less there's less weird hanging rough sports that make me pick at, which also negates the impulse to bite a bit more. Not that I've stopped completely but so far that's the only thing that's helped. Some stupid knobbly doodad to fidget with doesn't seem like any sort of solution.
>>
>>6044771
I do that.
ive done that in class when my students are being a pain.

now they think im buddhist.

KAK
>>
>>6044632
I saw some pics on taobao, reviews posted by buyers, not promo pics. The bootlegs look kinda bad, but good enough quality for the cheap price, I guess, judging by the reviews.
The 'joystick' seems to be the bootleg's weakness.
>>

>>
>>6045357

So this is just a cube for people with mental problems to spend 25 bucks on instead of getting the help/meds they need? The things idiots on kickstarter will back.....
>>
https://fromrussiawithknives.com/ckf-pepyakka-spinner-torqbar/

I like this thing, but fuck it's expensive.
>>
>autists paid 25$ for a 50cent toy
>>
>>6045388
Give it a couple months and those things will be going for $5 on ali
>>
Permanent Roommate and I went in for the $35 for two Kickstart. We're waiting for them to show up.

Both of us just fidget a lot, with pens, Lego guys, Buckyballs, Silly Putty, pretty much anything that's laying around. I mean, I've spent more on less, so we thought it'd be worth a try.

if you're going to be seen in public with an expensive piece of junk in your hand all the time, atleast make it classy

>>6045518
or you could just a quarter, dumbass
>>
>>6045551
My grandfather used to keep two silver dollars in his pocket all the time, and he would rub them together constantly. Not sure if it was a mental thing or if it was just a habit, since he'd do it with all of his pocket change. Before he died he gave me the silver dollars he had, the faces were completely worn off of them from rubbing together.
>>
>>6045357
>>6045358
>>6045360
Mine looks different in the joy pad area from the pictures I saw than this pic but I heard there are at least 4 different bootlegs.
I know the roller ball thing clicks like a pen if you depress it on the original I'm assuming it wont click on my chink version
Oh yeah it shipped this morning from "Idaho" so it might actually be here on Tuesday like ebay said still not holding my breath for it to be good though.
>>
>>6045388

Neat but the 35 day delivery kills it for me that's why I went with the ebay one still way better compared to the kickstarter April 2017 ETA
>>
>>6045396
I should restate I really like to click pens a lot at work and at home which I don't see as a big issue I feel that it's soothing or for the lack of a better word "satisfying."There's a rhythm to it and in general I'm in a more optimistic and active mood when I approach my work while clicking away. I'm an actuary so I always have a pen with me and my clicking has never been brought up. I don't really think medication would help me because I never saw clicking as a bad thing. I will probably put the fucking cube on my desk because people always put bullshit all over their desks at work and our bosses encourage us to make our work space "comfy" I'll just mess with it while I'm on a tedious phone call or bullshit 3 hour skype and that sounds great to me. Although I didn't back the project I would definitely pay more than $25 because I don't have kids or any responsibilities other than myself so I tend to use a lot of my disposable income on stupid bullshit hell that's why I love coming on /toy/ but you're right I suppose some people are viewing this thing as a substitute for professional help. All I can think of is that episode of the Sopranos where AJ gets diagnosed with ADHD and Tony basically decides that the school therapist is full of shit.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhgSHiRMubo
"What constitutes a fidget?"
>>
>>6045405
>sold out
kek I wonder if it was sold out before you posted it on here
>>6045408
>>>/toy/
isn't that the fundamental foundation of this board?
>>6045473
I can't wait to these in fucking swap meets and shit mall kiosks
>>6045513
I heard some of them shipped today so I'm hoping for a youtube review soon. There's plenty of reviews for bootlegs but I want to see what the backers think. I eventually want a real one to compare with too.
>>6045518
No clicking on that fucking thing though that's the biggest draw on the cube for me
>>6045579
Maybe it was luck thing too
>>
>>6045640
Yeah, because rubbing two coins together produces luck. Are you fucking 5? It's a coping mechanism.
>>
>>6044437
So it encourages your ocd and probably creates some more?
It's tumblr in toyform?
>>
>>6045679
No, you clearly have no behavioral psychology education.
>>
>>6045677
I didn't fucking say I believed that lol I just meant I thought people did that for luck fucking hell.
>>6045679
Yeah that's a fair assessment but I don't think anyone is crying over it or asking for acceptance if anything it's meant to be discrete which isn't a trait tumblr is known for but hey you're probably the expert.
>>6045683
I don't either and I refuse to google it what's the consensus on this type of thing?
>>

So i will launch a kikestarter to sell only the clicky top of a pen. With a lot of tumblr bullshit and probably make millions.
>>
>>6045708
You totally should
make a fucking pen specifically for people that like to click shit
I'll buy 5!

Here's you

>Permanent Roommate and I
Its ok to admit you have a boyfriend dude, this is the internet.

>"I struggled with OCD for years but with Clixâ„¢, I can finally click while I'm on the bus, at home, even when watching TV! It's so convenient!"
>>
>>6045692
You are on the wrong site if you expect to be spoonfed
>>
>>6045360
2 of the buttons are supposed to be silent according to the kickstarter video. Its so you can push them without annoying people around you. The official cube will have 2 silent buttons as well.
>>
>>6045730
It's [current year], you forcing us to inquire by baiting with "Permanent Roommate" actually makes the story less believable than if you just said "wife"
>>
>>6045747
kekd at "click counter"
so how many digits would the click counter display, digital or analog click counter? I assume this is a parody but I can picture it getting backed for at least $10,000 on kick starter fuck make it a fountain pen while your'e at it I wish I could click my fountain pens.
>>6045759
nah I never expect anything but also I don't care enough to read through scientific journals that would probably contradict each other on the causes and treatments of an ailment that isn't' a big deal to me. You can think of it as spoon feeding if it makes you feel better though.
>>
I had one of those rings that spin that I would use for this exact purpose.

Pretty much this for me. I would have killed for something like this in school. Generally my teachers never had a problem with me drawing in class, just one in college, but damn I had to keep my hands busy or I couldn't concentrate on their speaking. I'll still probably get one since I still tend to fiddle with change in my pockets or whatever's available in public.

Looking forward to your review on the bootleg one though!

WRONG
USPS is the only federal government branch that is forced by Congress to actually be profitable. That includes their pensions. Talk shit on their service all you like, but they don't cost us ANYTHING.

You also forget the potential tax revenue we could make from a private business that delivers mail that we lose out on when protecting the USPS.

>>6045747
Actually... if you could take one of pic related, and put the counter into a pen, you could have a product to promote in kickstarter. At one hand, having a counter is more handy than you can imagine, and at the other, as proven by this cube, having an item to press on your idle item is something people value a lot.

Remember that cookie click game? It was a huge success.

Why a pen-click counter wouldn't be?
>>
>>6051273
Perhaps you should live in an area that's actually important then? I live in DC and USPS is ALWAYS quick.

>>6051642
I wouldn't move from Claremont California for better postal service. I love it here. I find it hard to believe that it is "always" quick but maybe you're right.
