What surprise were you glad happened? It's not the Alpha Trion I was expecting, but it's such a fun design and posable toy that I can't imagine a better one.

The fact that Hasbro is actually willing to give us an official toy of A3 is enough for me.
>>
>>6043182
I like the figure, but even with all its articulation its hard to get a decent pose out of him that doesnt hit one of 2 problems. 1. It looks off because of the huge shoulders of 2. The ankles are weird and its hard to get him properly balanced.

Otherwise I like him. He does look stiff though.

Here, have some greentext of my shitty adventure in getting UW Menasor's head off so you can laugh at my misfortune

>fed up with struggling to get this ruined screw off UW Menasor so I can pull his head off and put on the replacement head
>say fuck it, grab tools
>...fuck, where are nippers?
>CANNOT FIND NIPPERS
>panic
>ok, where the fuck is my old sharp as fuck modelling knife?
>figure that'll cut a tiny bit off so I can slide it off the ball peg easily
>...cannot find that either
>where is this shit it should've been in my old warhammer case
>did I lose it somehow?
>fuck how am I gonna get this head off
>say fuck it, I'll jimmy it off with some eye glasses screwdrivers
>slice two fingers in the process due to the head seperating halves easily enough for a screwdriver to pass through
>but it's tough enough thanks to that fucking screw to not open enough to force the ball peg out
>spend two fucking hours doing this shit slowly
>head finally comes off

Well, guess I'm not keeping this head anymore. Oh well. Not like I have use for it with the replacement head on Menasor now.
>>
>>6043182
I don't care he was made nor his alt modes in concept but my god he is the worse in the line in terms of alt modes.
The lion looks half eaten and the boat/ship mode looks like they stop building it half way and stuff animals in it.

An anon requested a skyreign beast mode like the UW comic.

So I cobbled one together (about to send these guys into storage), essentially skylynx is still in his usual bipedal gestalt torso configuration judging from his UW configuration with the legs just bent around (couldn't see how they were but I assume its the same), the interesting part is the ffront legs are still the same as the arms.

And like I said, cobbled these together, he's a tad floppy (due to how he's configured, remember the upper arms don't like in anywhere) but he still has more articulation than tr alpha trion as his lion.

since brainstorm is generally new, i think any of those places will have him, but my best bet is amcorp

>>
>>6043481
There was one on /m/ that posted translations and became almost gospel for them seeing how most of them couldn't understand japanese, was quite reserved, problem is a mod had personal beef, got banned and never came back, he was missed.

There are a few here on /toy/ that just handle minor things such as thread creations, one called derriger even post gundam related stuff and because he works with bandai he's the onb to ask to confirm stuff...that he's allowed to comment on, no leaks though so I just see him post high res stuff we usually see mirrored on social media in lower rez these days.

These are the kind of tripfags we need, task related, or are useful, ones that just post to feel special, yes, those need to die, not back to plebbit, just outright die.

Does anyone else have weird inconsistencies with the weapon pegs and TM heads?

The pistol for my skullcruncher fits loose in everyone's hands, apefaces weapon mode fits loose in some hands while being too big for others and that's including left and right hands on the same figure, and my weirdwolfs titan masters head has stretched out the connector port and doesn't fit well in any other TM head port no matter which way I turn the head.

Just the usual terrible fucking QC with TR. It's a shame the line is plagued with this as a whole, because the designs are so fucking good all around. Except Galvatron. He was a pretty hard flop in terms of design.
>>
>>6043934
Yeah like you said this line is pretty awesome minus the QC. I've just never seen inconsistenty like this. Hell transformers now pretty much have no issue using weapons from figures 10 years ago, but weapons made for its own line don't work half the time. It gets annoying.

And I'm not too bothered by galvatron. His head is my only problem and luckily this line provides many solutions to it.

I jumped on that $75 fort max deal last night, mainly because I figured I'd regret passing on it like I have for metroplex for the last two years. My relationship with G1 is pretty much "I like the designs, but the show is unwatchable", so I don't see that being a problem. I guess CW's weakness of reusing molds is also its biggest strength with regards to mold issues. Things like 1st release Deadend's loose joints and ports gets fixed by later uses of the mold (Streetwise, Wildrider, Prowl, etc.)

Locks his waist swivel, but in return you use Motormaster's knee joints rather than the ratchets, and it also fills out his waist and makes him look a Hell of a lot better.

Downside is you might need to futureshine Motormaster's knee joints, since Menasor is the most topheavy combiner by a long shot, so he might not hold all that weight on his friction knees without some futureshine. It doesn't help his innate balance problems either, you still need to be on point when posing him or he'll tumble, a problem most of the other combiners don't have.

Picked up Astrotrain and.. Wheelie as part of a Black Friday sale

Holy shit it fucking ages to get Blackmoon off Astrotrain, I was terrified of breaking the head off due to how goddamn tight it was wedged in there. Finally got it out after minutes of wiggling the piece around. Has anybody had their heads snap off the TM figure and get stuck inside the main robot?

Also Wheelie is like a bad joke, I can never get his car mode to stay together without work, as he's liable to explode into a mess of gangly robot parts with even the slightest push on the arms to get them to actually fit into their slots. It's like he was an attempt by Hasbro to get a new generation of fans pissed at Wheelie.

Love Astrotrain aside from the head problem though. I wish these new deluxe and higher figures didn't even have the TR gimmick, really.

So yeah I think the ocean decal kit wins out.

The stock sticker sheet he comes with is just terrible in every way and best kept mint if you want to keep it at all. The toyhax labels are alright if you really want to load him up with detail to break up the white (I do not) but isn't very good if you don't plan on using all the decals, especially considering their red doesn't not match the color of Ratchet's red colors.
The ocean sheet on the other hand is much higher quality than the stock sheet and pretty much matches the color of Ratchet's red exactly (albeit with a matte texture instead of gloss but that's a non-issue), unlike the toyhax sheets.

I really doubt I'll be using all of the ocean decals though since I don't really want to over-detail Ratchet compared to my other carbots. I really probably should have just gotten some cheapo generic red cross stickers, but eh.

Now if I can just do something about the few paint blemish issues on him he'll finally be perfect.

Well, it'll make him look better, but like I said, it won't fix his primary flaw: That topheaviness. Mine always wants to either fall back, or fall forward, and I gotta spend either a lot of time making sure his pose is centered for his topheavy nature, or just lean him against a wall. I usually just lean him against a wall. Nothing short of an entirely new torso-bot will fix that.

But at least it'll make him look pretty. And I always liked Menasor, he was one of my favorites. So I doled out the dosh for all the kits for'em.

Guady is exactly what it is, it's distracting as all hell. They could've made it so you could at least peel it off, but then there's that giant indentation in the plastic.
Among the worst Transformers gimmicks ever.

I think that can actually work. Torso mode only needs a few alterations work, he just needs reshelling. They can probably toss in an extra mode, and keep the combiner mode.

Just for the sake of actually posting and not just lurking like I usually do; I gotta say that so far TR is doing pretty fine.
I specially like the little bots; I only own Blurr (who's right arm is floppy as hell) and he's a fine toy. He's... blue. But the little dude is so charming that I can completely forget about the rest of the body.
If I didn't live in a shitty country with expensive importations I would certainly get the rest of the line without hesitating.

I'm a poorfag for not wanting a low quality figure? You seem confused.
>>
>>6045101
In the end arguing about this is pointless. The fact stands that MPs are not very high quality for starters, and glorifying them like some sort of divine gift superior to all other Transformers is foolish.

>>6045110

Metroplex and Fort Max are lower quality than most MPs by a large margin, but whatever, buy what you like, man.
>>
>>6045112

What in your opinion is a high quality transforming figure then? You must have some metric. It's a matter of objective fact that MP's are better built, more sturdy, have superior transformation schemes, more paint, more weight, etc. Than mainline figures.

What's your metric?
