From the wiki:

-Galvatron was sealed in ice in the Headmasters episode "The Emperor of Destruction Vanishes on an Iceberg" (his plans for Grand Galvatron were also revealed in that episode). He'll eventually be permanently freed from the iceberg in the Return of Convoy story pages.

-By 2021, Unicron's head has been moved to the Triple Z Point, where it is located in the Beast Wars Neo cartoon (as seen in the episode "Fight! Maximals"). This is in agreement with the previous TakaraTomy timeline that established Unicron's head being sealed there in 2010.

-Unicron is depicted as still having the eyes of Metroplex and Trypticon that were given to him in "Ghost in the Machine".

-Prime Breakdown (or in Japanese parlance, War Breakdown) was killed in the Prime episode "Crossfire". His corpse was repurposed as a new cyborg body for Silas in "The Human Factor" before being turned into a new type of Terrorcon zombie in "Thirst" (which did not air in Japan), in which Silas/Breakdown was finally killed. The absence of Silas from Breakdown's bio indicates that Silas has not remained alive to also be summoned by Unicron.

-Armada/Micron Densetsu Thrust was abandoned to die (for being a traitor) in the Armada episode "Union".

-Unicron only restores Starscream's body halfway, citing his betrayal in the episode "Ghost in the Machine" as the reason for his distrust.

-Unicron's desire to turn Cybertron into his new body likewise originates from "Ghost in the Machine", but he'll eventually achieve that goal (albeit momentarily) in the Beast Wars Neo episode "The Final Battle".

-Previously, Cybertron in the Japanese cartoon continuity was indicated to not have been restored until after 2036 in the G-2 story pages, something affirmed in the cartoon timeline included with Kiss Players, which Hayato Sakamoto contributed to. Unite Warriors now appears to be retconning Cybertron to already have been rebuilt by 2021.

Shit, was meant to post this from the wiki on the Lynx Master chapter.

-The first page takes place during "Cybertron Is in Grave Danger, Part 2".

-Ratchet being alive is kind of necessary to accompany the Unite Warriors Lynxmaster toy, but he died in 2005 during The Movie, and how he came back to life by 2011 has yet to be explained. (Btw, we don't know how Ironhide came back either, but we do know how Prowl, and Wheeljack "came back to life").

-Optimus Prime's dead body has been configured into its Unite Warriors design despite it not appearing this way in his resurrection for the The Battlestars story pages. This would be justified in the next chapter.

-Ratchet is working on Optimus's body in the Oracle chamber from the Beast Machines cartoon.

-Vector Sigma acquires its design previously seen in "Train Wars", a gold-colored "virtual redeco" of the Eggbot mold.

-Vector Sigma communicates with Sky Lynx using yellow rings, a fitting callback to "Call of the Primitives", where its previous form, the Oracle, communicated with Sky Lynx and the other Primitives in this way.

From the wiki again:

-Megaempress notes that Shockwave's current whereabouts are unknown, referring to his disappearance from the cartoon after The Transformers: The Movie. The concurrently published Legends comics do feature Shockwave traveling to the Legends Universe, but it's currently unknown if that Shockwave is from this time period. (Characters who jump into the Legends universe seem to arrive and leave at their own time periods, while events in the Legends universe keep going at their own pace, regardless of the standard Transformers universe).

-Lunaclub refers to Starscream's ability to possess other Transformers as a ghost.
Optimus Prime's return is only temporary since he has to be dead again in time for Return of Convoy.

Kind of disappointing Optimus didn't get his own UW chapter, even if he did get released before Grand Galvatron.

This is from the dudes that translated this part:

-English names and dub attack callouts used again.

-Grand Scourge’s combined mode is named “Scourge Grand Prime” in the original Japanese, to match “Convoy Grand Prime”, I’ve used “Grand Scourge Maximus” to retain symmetry with “Optimus Maximus”.

-Galvatron II’s early adventures in the Japanese G1 universe, before travelling back in time, were in the post-G2 era, where he fought e-HOBBY Laser Ultra Magnus. His adventures in the ’80s are from the TV Magazine story pages.

-When Galvatron II discusses Trypticon, in the original Japanese he says he commanded “Dino-saurer [Dainozaurā], the earliest version of Dinosaurer [Dainazaurā]”. Sakamoto is being a massive nerd: the former version of the name was used in the Scramble City OVA, where Trypticon also had a different character model, so the idea is that Trypticon was renamed when he was rebuilt in Five Faces of Darkness.

-The “heart” at the end is the Zodiac, which would indeed eventually revive Optimus as Star Convoy.

Get ready for Galvatron III

And stuff from the wiki

-Though never really touched on in the cartoon, the Dimensional Patrol being from the future was mentioned in an early Car Robots catalog.

-The Combatrons were last seen being taken to prison/trial by Brave Maximus in the Car Robots finale "Final Battle! Fire Convoy".
Their evil reprogramming at the command of Gigatron from "Foe? Friend!? Black Convoy" is recreated in the expository flashbacks.

-Black Convoy has already escaped custody, as previously revealed in his Legends pack-in comic, in which he was also reunited with Gelshark.

-Unicron's offer of coffee milk seems random, but Baldigus's original Car Robots bio card mentions his fondness of the stuff.

-Prowl remembers the Transformers on Earth falling into the atmosphere at the end of the The Battle of the Star Gate manga. This event was retconned by the 2007 Japanese Generation 1 timeline to serve as an explanation for their absence during Car Robots.

-Unicron tried to have Starscream turn Cybertron into his new body in "Ghost in the Machine".

-The "erasing from history" effect seen in this chapter is identical to the swirly blue lines seen in "The Agenda (Part III)" and "Optimal Situation".

-Galvatron II hails from the story pages for the original cartoon, which depicted a toy-colored Galvatron as the Decepticon City Commander and not as a reborn Megatron. This Galvatron would later be retconned into a separate character by an e-HOBBY toy, and indeed, the Galvatron featured in Unite Warriors has also been toy-colored all along.

-Grand Scourge is revealed to be a servant of Unicron, not an illogical connection for a Matrix Hunter. Whether this means that he is indeed the same individual as Armada Nemesis Prime, also Unicron-aligned and known in Japanese as "Scourge", remains ambiguous.

-Vector Sigma mentions Sky Lynx helping him in the battle with Tornedron in "Call of the Primitives"—in Japan, the Oracle from that episode was retconned into being the past form of Vector Sigma.

-Unicron swears that Cybertron will be his someday, which will come to pass in Beast Wars Neo.

-Optimus Prime will be revived by a new power source, the Zodiac, in The Battlestars. Unfortunately Roller won't do his job very well, as these stories also feature Prime's body being stolen by Dark Nova.

-Galvatron II notes that he became the City Commander of "Dino-saurer" (ダイノザウラー Dainozaurā), the first version of Dinosaurer (ダイナザウラー Dainazaurā). Trypticon was referred to using the former in "Scramble City: Mobilization"; this retcon explains away the aberrant spelling and the different character model used by the OVA.

And can you spot the Chip Chase cameo on the last page?

That's it, the end of the Unite Warriors story. But one day, that story may continue. UNITE!

She doesn't hold her guns very well though as a result of a running change in her mold to make her hands look better. As far as I'm aware all copies of the LG version have this change. It's a bit disappointing but not a deal breaker by any stretch.

Otherwise a great and solid figure, with a ton of articulation, poseability and expression. She's by far one of the best generation deluxes.

Also I found her weapon storage to be pretty hard to figure out. Both of her guns fit discreetly on the underside of the back of her vehicle mode. No good place to put the swords though unfortunately.
>>
>>6040821
Legends Arcee's hands are rectangular and have a ridge at the bottom preventing the handles from going all the way through. This was present on early batches of Hasbro Arcee as well. Some collectors opted to trim the ridge away.

Later batches of Hasbro Arcee had a running change to round 5mm hands, notably that SDCC exclusive 3-pack one that holds that fuckhuge sword.

That's a good thing, anon. It means they'll keep getting new toys since they're part of G1.
>>
>>6041041
There where hints at it being part of their timeline before. Fire Convoy's whole Matrix is patterned after the Energon Matrix Lio Convoy, Big Convoy, and the Japanese version of BW Optimus had. The Destrongers are implied to be Predacons from the future. The whole series takes place within a continuity deadzone where it doesn't really contradict anything. The fact that all the characters(in the JP version, anyway) are new characters instead of reinterpretations hints at it being part of the series rather than a reboot.

I think I hate the CW First Aid mold

In arm-mode I find there's no good place to put his arms. No matter what you do they just stick out like sore thumbs. I'd just pop them out of the socket entirely but then I'd have fucking loose First Aid arms lying around that I don't want to lose.

If it weren't for muh geewun he'd be a leg by now and I'd just leave it at that but nooo, I have to be spending hours at a time trying to figure out some more compact way of folding his arms in.

I'm confused about Galvatron II's chronology, the one from the us comics can't be the same one seen in the japanese fiction (like in the UW comics) because he dies twice, once in regeneration one, and during scramble city in the japanese continuity, also's the issue of how the US comic one would enter the JP timeline, it'd be easier to consider it a alternate version ( despite them apparently being the same guy.
>>
>>6041056
Use him as a leg already. Streetwise's flipped-down car front make one hell of an ugly knee.
>>
>>6041065
It can be. He's from one of the streams, and he was never really killed, he just into an icy lake or something. They can have him be the one from the G2 comics since he never showed up in them, while the Regeneration version was killed. He could also be from another time and place. In the end it doesn't matter since they still haven't filled in the gaps for his appearances.

Did he arrive at the future after G2, then go to the past? Did he go to the future, then past, die, then get revived during G2?
>>
>>6041102
>he just into an icy lake or something
speaking of that, how was that supposed to have killed the original Galvatron in Headmasters, always been confused about that(since Japanese media seems to be pretty consistent about Galvatron being dead from that until he was resurrected as Super Megatron during Battlestars)
>>
>>6041186
Ice is his Kryptonite? It's possible the ice froze and he was too damaged to break out of it, do he died.

While it's believeable that it would kill him, it's increadibly retarded when you remember he was right next to the bombs that destroyed Cybertron.

>>6041341
This is my main issue with him: he looks gr8 but his articulation is dick. His elbows don't even go 90 degrees unless you extend the arm (which is for transformation) and that makes it a bit wobbly due to the nature of the telescopic extension.

Pic related is as far as the arm goes without extending.

Now for the ankle tilt: Yes, it exists, but here's the problem: whoever designed this placed it on a fucking soft detent that only stops at the 45 degree and 90 degree angle. Which basically renders it totally useless.

The hinge there has no other use too: Never shows up in transformation. It's clearly designed to be an ankle tilt and nothing else. Which begs the question: what the fuck is the detent for?

>>6041353
Nope, no wrists.

Yes, but because the front of the chest is clear you have to flip the head facing forwards or backwards based on the mode to make sure you don't have an angry upside down face staring through.

Shoulders, not quite. Hip skirts are articulated and move out of the way quite nicely.

Onto the vehicle modes: First off is tank/AA thing.

This is where things get a little weak. The arms just hang off at the sides and don't peg into anywhere. This also happens on a good number of the other modes too. In addition, the legs just sit there on his back without pegging together or even locking in anywhere, which does suck quite a bit.

Visually this mode is nice but playability wise it's probably the weakest.

His posing is kinda eh thanks to the elbow issue and the ankle tilt issue, but otherwise he's fine. Also the shoulder pylons can be a tad bit annoying but they're mostly bearable. Not much to say beyond that, not much to show either unless you have specific requests.

>You can't even really enjoy it that well when it's made of clear plastic

I don't get how scared we are of clear plastic, I can totally understand gps since my protoform starscream creaks when transformed, but I've had plenty of clear toys over the years and they held fine, like my gobot firecracker or g2 sizzle, in which both have been burred under my toys from yesteryear (so was protoform starscream but somehow got crammed into g2 optimus's trailer), I don't get it, yeah translucent plastic is more brittle, just means you don't ham hand it, doesn't mean its gonna explode in a shower of plastic.

Has anyone here actually had a translucent figure break on them that wasn't the direct result of too much pressure when transforming?

>re: clear plastic
Maybe it's just that stress is more easily shown on clear plastic, and that's worrisome for a lot of people.

Maybe it's the same train of thought that makes people dislike rubber so much; the thought that it would break or disintegrate sooner than the solid plastic.
>>
>>6041858
This is true, ironically I worry more about rubber than clear plastic.

>>
>>6041858
>>6041859
Clear plastic really isn't an issue unless it's under stress, because clear plastic is less strong and stress marks are more visible even if breakage isn't likely.

Rubber on the other hand can just die eventually if you have bad luck no matter what you do.

If yes to any two of these, you should get Hunt For The Decepticons Leader Starscream, from 2010 (or TakaraTomy's MPM-1 if you don't like the tattoos). The toy is as close as we're ever gonna get to an accurate movie Screamer that can still transform into an accurate Raptor. Amazingly for a jetformer, there's no fat box of robot parts in jet mode. The bottom is definitely made out of robot parts, but they're made so that the profile is still relatively smooth.

I believe DOTM Deluxe Starscream accomplishes similar things, but in a smaller and more simplified manner.

>staff payments (considering how large the company is in comparison to 3rd party manufacturers)
>design, manufacture and engineering

3rd parties have an easier time than the official companies, and those who make improved variants like mpp10 have it easier and thus charge you only for the add on and plastic itself.

And yes, I DID mention the corporate greed but that is to be expected, buy what you like, don't buy what you don't like for whatever reason (just know the most faggotted reason why to even buy official, if the interest in the brand somehow fades below a certain threshold they might just stop altogether, hence why we do need to buy official from time to time)

No matter how many accessories or gimmick they put in a toy, at the end of the day it's still cheap to make and they sell it for what they think they can get away with.

fitting some extra guns into the mold and stuffing LED wiring into a toy doesn't make a 150 at best toy worth 200

You can just peg some of them together and store them all on two 5mm peg holes on Longhauls bucket.

Kind of disappointing so many people are reporting issues with the face/head paints though due to the clearances being super small, or just getting them out of the box with paint defects.

I need to get a Harambe Prime still.
>>
>>6042268
Mine didn't have any and I noticed there was a plastic flash on the slot where the gorilla head goes around in early on so I sanded it and now the head slides in there like a dick to a pussy.

I've played with 3ps and official MPs for a while now and Harambe is the only one that I was giggling while playing with it. Everything else was me being scared of breaking them but that one, I can play with him and everything feels fine. Even my MP Star Saber scares me when I transform him.

I only own 1 official MP so far-The new Hotrod-but I do want to get more.

Any to avoid/get before others, besides MP10?
>>
>>6042281
Well all of them have their risk and rewards. My own collection is 12 MPs(3 3ps, 9 official) but like I said I've handle more than that and those 10 are the stuff I actually did want in my collection.

I would get MP Harambe honestly, this one I could not recommend enough. Even people who didn't like Beast Wars fell in love with that MP. Everything else it's your discretion. MP Inferno might be a contender too since seeing that review made me want one. His engineering is just top notch, surprisingly it has a better transformation than Ocular Max and Maketoys. It's like HasTak saw how they were transformed and decided to made it even better. I'm a firm believer that you don't need rubber wheels nor diecast to make a good MP. Just because a figure has them doesn't make them actually good.
>>
>>6042268
the clearance is fine, albeit uncomfortably tight. The reason why pain scratch issues happen on his robot head antenna is because they pass right by a pin, and if the pen edge is jagged at all it'll scrape the paint.

If you sand down that pin to smooth out the ends (if they're jagged) then it's no issue. Unfortunately I did it after the fact so I have to live with scratched paint, though if people are right about him being a shelf warmer then I should have no issue buying him for 40$ in a bargain bin to replace later on.

Other than that though I'm pleased with the quality of the fur tampo in terms of resilience. I had a lot of concerns about them wearing off through rubbing but I really doubt it'll be an issue, if you told me it were a texture that was molded into the plastic then I'd probably believe you.
There are some noticeable blemishes here and there during manufacturing but for the most part they don't stick out very much. Unfortunately mine has a tiny speck of metal blue paint that seeming flaked off of the neutral gorilla face's muzzle but the other faces are fine so I much have just gotten bad luck. I could always just pretend he has a mole or something.
>>
>>6042281
I'd honestly say any MP after 10 could be worth buying if you want them.

The only ones I'd say are more "flawed" would be Starscream and Shockwave, though they're still good in their own right.
>>
>>6042329

Well, I've already got some 3P stuff covering my Megs and Shockwave, plus the officials just don't look as good to me for those offerings.

I do want to snag a Soundwave reissue, hopefully there won't be any problems with those.

How are the Datsun Bros? I'd want to pick up Prowl mostly.

Other than that, I want to snag a Grapple, Optimus, and Ironhide & Ratchet.
>>
>>6042339
Prowl and Ironhide/Ratchet are both really great molds (though Ratchet's white paint is somewhat prone to flaking around rub areas like his roof and thighs). In general it's really hard to go wrong with any of the car bots.

And Optimus is basically perfect.

Can't speak for Grapple though since he isn't out yet.
>>
>>6042346

Any major difference between JPN/US releases of the figures that have'em? I know the US Optimus has a much more cartooney color scheme, which I think looks better over the darker JPN one, but beyond that I don't know much about the differences in other figures.
>>
>>6042350
In general, most of the differences come down to how they paint the toys. Takara typically does a lot of "X color paint on X color plastic" to give their MPs much nicer colors, but Hasbro doesn't do this. It doesn't necessarily make them look worse, but side by side a takara MP might have much richer colors than a Hasbro MP.

a quick summary for most of the hasbro versions:
Grimlock has unpainted grey plastic and rounded edges, mostly the same.
Optimus has unpainted red plastic, brighter colors and a bit more painted details than the Takara version. Some people report loose ankle joints on him.
Soundwave's paint jobs are identical I believe, though hasbro has yellow eyes instead of yellow. The Hasbro version is notable for including 5 cassettebots whereas the Takara version only comes with Laserbeak for the same price.
Starscream has a more toy accurate deco and silvery painted blue plastic, and it's remarkable for having a chest that stays together slightly better due to overall tighter transformation joints than the Takara version, though it's still pretty floppy. Same goes for all the other Hasbro Seekers.

Prowl, Bluestreak and Bumblebee are identical to the Takara versions, though the MP Exosuit with Bumblebee has brighter colors.

I'm not familiar with any other differences but I know the Hasbro seekrs have slightly different decos.

In General though it's typically not worth getting Hasbro MPs except for Soundwave, because unless they're new/recent and on the shelves then they're typically scalped HARD, compared to Takara MPs who are pretty easy to find for MSRP everywhere years after they come out.

Aside from what you said the inside of a foot panel is left unpainted on the hasbro panel, not detrimental as its on the inside of the robot mode foot but its noticeable
>starscream
>and it's remarkable for having a chest that stays together slightly better due to overall tighter transformation joints than the Takara version

Ok mine CAN'T transform its chest without excessive force, the sides of the canopy block it from sliding down unlike the previous seekers from both hasbro and takara, mine is also floppier than the previous ones (I mean my mp ramjet does better, mp ramFUCKINGQCSHITFESTjet)

>mp datsuns
Tampos can be crooked, additional toy warnings but thats present on all hasbro mp's, excess flash on silverstreak makes his transformations stiffer than takara datsun's and hasbro prowl, I suspect mold degradation

No idea about bumblebee as I only own a g2.

>mp seekers have slightly different decos

Drastically different, look at sunstorm, thundercracker, starscream is the only one with a minor deco change and thats what you said previously.

Hasbro's are initially the same as hasbro's in tolerances but their versions suffer mold wise before you notice on the takara ones, just putting that out there

Yeah they're water decals.

Weird how everywhere says they're dry decals though.

Now if I could just find a guide for this set that would be nice. there's a ton of decals beyond the obvious red crosses and I can't figure out where the hell any of them go

Dunno, all I know was this is second hand, the box had been opened (seller had pics of him in the tray on ebay)

They only had one Brainstorm and two Mindwipes.
>>
I'm starting to feel crazy now

I can't find anything about these mp ratchet ocean/eness decals except for that i can buy them on ebay

I wasn't even planing on putting them all on but I just want to know where half of this shit is supposed to go. Like why the hell are there 3 red crosses for his shoulders? Is there a 3rd arm I dont know about?
>>
>>6042594
You can use a screw of a different transformer. Funny thing is that transformers screws are standard for the toys. I ruined an MP screw when I was doing a fix on mine and I just used a screw from a junker and it fits perfectly.
>>
>>6042748

Just curious, but would you know how to extract a ruined screw? The head is completely fucked on a screw I need to remove.
>>
So I ordered that year of the monkey Air Attack Primal. Shit was marked the fuck down on Amazon to $35. wasn't it like $150 originally? I'd love to have the original instead for the proper colors and all the cool Garry Chalk voice clips but either way for the price it's a neat figure.

It's probably because the design is so fucking cool. It's an interesting and novel way of compacting a giant fucking jet so that it can fight against cars and the occasional truck.

Sure, the Bayformer designs weren't "accurate" transformations in any sense of the word, but you can tell a select few like Starscream had some real thought put into them. It's a shame the newer designs are so boring and generic.
>>
>>6042835
I just did.
>>
>>6042761
Well you can get those tools to extract them or do a dab if glue on the head if possible so when you press the screwdriver in, you make a proper catch to it and hope that doesn't give up before you can extract the screw out.
>>
>>6042844
Keep that smart mouth and Apeface won't be the only thing without a body
>>
>>6042849

The glue method probably won't work, as the screw is in a somewhat deep hole. And kind of small to boot.
>>
>>6042726
There have to be extras on that thing just in case you fuck one up, right? I don't think all of those decals are meant to be on the figure at the same time.

You can try though; I suggest looking up pictures of G1 Ratchet toys and seeing if any of the decals match those old stickers.
>>
>>6042865
aside from either cutting a slot into the screw to turn it with a flathead or using glue to grip it, there's really not much to do about stripped screws.

At most you could try a screw extractor bit but that would probably end up fucking up the plastic around it.

He knows how to liven up a classroom with theories and science, Anon.
>>
>>6042892

Well it's a combiner head I'm trying to remove, so fucking up the head I don't care about, all that matters is keeping the ball joint the head is on intact, really.
>>
>>6042915
If you don't care about keeping it in good shape and just want it off the peg then you might as well just cut it the fuck up with an exacto knife
>>
>>6042938

I've actually thought about trying that, but was afraid I'd stress the ball joint to breaking or something while trying to carve the head off. I'd also thought about trying to just break the head into two halves, but same issue.
>>
>>6042946
which combiner head is it?
>>
>>6042960

Menasor's.

so, i guess the only thing this board /tfg will ever agree on is that transformers are cool?

I got Bombshell after he's been shelfwarming at Toys Toys Toys. Thought I'd be underwhelmed - either wanted to have all the Insecticons or none at all, and didn't think I'd fine Shrapnel - but it's a pretty neat figure, will be a good second-in-command under legends Shockwave.
