Thanks man, and no worries. All my current skells are second hand and came in various states of yellowing. Im a filthy smoker, so it would have happened eventually anyways. As for lightening them up, not sure. Im guessing maybe an over night soak in a good cleaning solution? maybe with some whitening toothpaste in it or something?

Toothpaste will work for removing dirt that's actually on the surface, but if you want to whiten old, yellowed bricks, your best option is to submerge the pieces in hydrogen peroxide in a transparent container that's left in bright sunlight for a few hours. Stir the parts well every few minutes, because bubble will constantly form and those will affect the uniformity of the whiteness.

The reason white plastic yellows with age is because the bromine that's added to the plastic to make it flame-retardant starts to turn brown as it breaks down over time. I've had fantastic luck with this technique, even with pieces that are 30+ years old.

Just google "lego white hydrogen peroxide" and you'll find a lot of sites talking about different techniques using hydrogen peroxide.

Batman Movie sets launch 11/27, along with DC Superhero girls and Moana.
Rest should be out January 1st. MAYBE a FEW days before Christmas just to help us have something on the shelf.

If you go for looks take rock roader. Though that is subjective. If you go parts i'd say it depends on the size of your collection: if you've got a little one go for mech, if you've got a big collection go rock roader. Yeah, as mentioned upthread, some of them are established characters from commercial breaks in games or celebrity cameos. I plan on printing these on heavy glossy cardstock. I don't know the exact paper weight, but I tested it out yesterday on a piece and it didn't look awful. I think it will work fine for me because they'll probably be out of focus in most shots.

I just use a descending series of smaller Ziploc bags inside gallon bags, or loosely depending on the size of the bag. Then I've got a few Sterilite three-drawer units that I keep it all inside of.

You're definitely going to want to sort by type, not color. I sort my bricks by color but everything else is by type, and if you keep it orderly, and put it all back in the correct spot when you're done, it is a LOT faster to put things together. I'm so glad I took the time to sort everything the first time around, or I wouldn't be having nearly as much fun.
