I don't know about physically possible, but I appreciate the Earth Wars models for actually using the same parts for robot and alt mode. It's not like a lot of other TF games where the robot model is switched out for a single vehicle chunk; they actually gave a bit of thought into transformations.

Also I'm always amused to see them use the actual in-game models in their promotional material.

Earth Wars meanwhile has Shrapnel eject his arms from his abdomen vents, Megatron's bits fold in on themselves in like seven different places in an unnecessary manner, and more recently, Devastator just kind of. Mushes together into an assortment of construction bits that just barely connect into a humanoid shape.
Some of the designs can get away with this, but the ones more clearly designed on actual toys are flagrant as hell.

I dunno, mine are pretty rock solid. On my copy the only issue I have with it is that the feet are painted, which is the worst thing they could've done considering the bottom of his feet are the top of the train.

The Sentinel version of the mold did have looser knees/hips for me, though.

Yes, the humanoid spy-tablet is a good toy. His articulation is good all around, with the exception of his arms; those elbows are too high. All three modes are fun to mess with, especially with the gun doubling as a stylus.

When it comes to picking one out of the two, I guess it depends on your familiarity with the character. It's definitely designed with IDW Rewind in mind, so if you like that version of him he'll treat you right. The Rumble version still delivers though, with that sweet head sculpt and the option to give him pile drivers.

Like, I've got Brawn and it's pretty silly that he can't ride in his jeep without bending his knees backwards to attach to the pegs, and Loudmouth is the same way with his train thing. Apeface and Terri-bull can kind of ride in their jets but they don't actually fit in securely.

I dunno. Maybe I'm just nostalgic but I've always thought the giant hand mode was pretty fucking metal. It helps of course that it isn't his only alt mode. I dunno, I never actually watched the cartoon (I actually watched G1 as a kid despite being born in '96) and my clumsy young self could never get him transformed into hand mode, but when I finally did get it working I always imagined it as a sort of "command" mode- like, the hand shape was symbolic more than anything, and he used it to direct his sheer power to psychically dominate/mind control Autobots.

CW LIokaider and CW Computron are really the best of the CW line. It's a shame it had to end after LIokaiser because there's quite a few more combiners that need to be done like Predaking, Abominus, and Piranacon.

Having a Monstructor/Dinoking would also be good. but that would require a whole new gimmick. Pretenders need something like the Titan masters where the shell can turn into a vehicle to it's default mode like the vhicles. But a Dinoking would need a larger sized figure than the titan masters.

Same anon, My second Primal came in(I bought one fromAE and one from BBTS) came in, and other than some ugly paint excess at the bottom of his regular face, he's fine. Gonna try and get a new faceplate from BBTS, or whatever else they can do.

This figure is basically a landmine for paint QC issues, because there's just soooo muchpaint on him. I'm so used to being able to how sturdy the 96 one was it takes a bit getting used to. that said, it is a great figure, and the transformation is actually really interesting. On Alpha Bravo many have reported that it doesn't take too much effort to break the kneecap tab that locks into the torso for heli mode, even if you're transforming the figure correctly down to the last photo in the instruction booklet. This got so bad that Hasbro actually added extra supports for the Blades and Vortex versions of the mold.

My gripes with Hotspot are his combiner hips, floppy AF on mine and he always leans foward, Brawl was just badly designed, stumpy arms and that waist.

It's not. The floppy waists was not fixed. There were later runs of Brawl with the same issue. Whether you got one with the issues or not was simply a luck of the draw and the only "fix" was buying purchasing additional copies until you got lucky.

Went to Wal-Mart, got the last Apeface as well as a Flywheels. Left Grimlock and Brawn, but no wave 1s left apparently.

Did I do good? Apeface is pretty neat to look at, but Flywheels is more swooshable. Considered getting Grimgram but the $20 was literally the last money I had in my wallet
