No no, he IS, see that black gun, that is the sled, its an external accessory, its pretty similar to what chromedome had, they put put the smaller gun on top.

Hardhead's was perfect, you flip a hatch and there's the sled, you wouldn't know until its open and its part of the robot mode's look so it blends in well.

He's an ultra-class figure that was undersized to a deluxe. so there's a lot of messy tolerances and parts just don't click in properly anywhere. I paid retail for mine when it was on pegs, so for $1 it's a totally worth it. Hell you can't even get a snickers bar for $1.

Well this is really weird. A bit disappointing you'll have to cannabilize the deluxe Black Shadow's guns so he can duel wield. Also disappointed the Overlord gun is so tiny now.

On to the vehicle modes, the tank is adorable but doesn't fit Overlord at all. The jet looks fine, but it doesn't seem like it carries the originals giant jet shield that can launch a tiny jet (though, I'll wait for more info since they might reveal you can attach more of the jet instead of just the tiny one).

Thunderwing would need new faces, helmet, and chest, and I can't think of any mold that's been extensively retooled more than once, so at best, he might be a repaint of Sky Shadow.

Star Saber shares many of the same similarities you describe. And here Sky Shadow was made the Overlord mold mate. The path to remolding into Thunderwing and Star Saber are about equal (very low) except Star Saber has the benefit of being an Autobot in a heavy lineup of leader class Decepticons.

Elephant was one of the head only Headmasters from Japan. Shuffler was an Elephant that turned into a head, but since that conflicts with the new gimmicks, he now turns into a humanoid robot that can combine with a vehicle that resembles his robot mode.

The orange/yellow dude is Repugnus, one of the 3 Monsterbots. Doublecross/Twinferno is also a part of this group, and it's a bit annoying they aren't all being released as deluxes.

I know knockoffs are generally frowned upon on /toy/, but I'm curious. Does anyone have any experience with the KO masterpiece figures? Sideswipe in particular. I'm really tempted to pick one up, but I'm curious about the quality on the MP KOs in general.

I've gotten a few KOs and Official and normal issues are looseness in joints (most can be fix with a floor shine) and molding clumps where the ko mold seal isn't as strong as the official.

Sky Shadow's apparently a Sixchanger, somehow. You can sort of justify it with the combined tank/plane mode, plane and tank counting as separate modes, robot mode, and the pathetic base mode, but that still leaves one mode.

I'm legitimately surprised with how little mold reusage has gone into the Titanmaster vehicles so far with three or four waves of buildup.
The only mold so far that's been remotely overstaying its welcome is the tiny t-rex/dragon and that ones cool as fuck anyway.

All the others so far minus the tank/jet have been entirely unique to the titanmaster they shipped with explicitly to give them a more dedicated representation.

I'm collecting every repaint of the rid2015 optimus mold including the new power surge version, I also have *one of each* deluxe seeker (not gonna get every variation, that's too insane) and currently aiming for mp seekers, preferably hasbro skywarp to complete my hasbro mp seekers and the rest of the takara cone heads.

Anyone else here do the same, and why?

For me I just simply fucking love optimus but going for mp repaints is gonna kill me so I decided to get the rid2015 mold, I had 2 of the seekers as a kid so I spent some time researching and ended up mixing and matching hasbro and takara before someone told me there were infact triple box sets of both (least I like the deco's of the one I chose) and mp seekers because they somehow aren't as painful as optimus redecos.

Yes, I like f15's and starscream as well as ramjet but that's irrelevant to the rest of the crew
