*whips out dick*
Can someone just make a new kaiju general instead?
>>5947135
You guys are precious.
>>5946939
Why do you have 4 of the same figure?
>>5947145
>all rook same
I like Kaiju.
>>5946939
still got the g94 original sh monsterart
still prefer it over newer releases, has more weight to it and tighter joints
I suddenly realized I have no Toho Kaiju representation. Enjoy Godzilla-kun and Gigan-chan. Ultra Politeman apologizes for the offense.
I don't have much but Hope to get more.
>>5947558
Derp.
Also have Mother of Ultra
>>5947581
I'm gonna be honest. All my knowledge of Ultraman is just from the few vinyls and candy toys I own. I only know the names of Ginga and Ultraman. I even have this third guy and have no idea who he is.
And I mostly got them for the Baltan figs.
>>5947608
that's ultraseven
he had pokemon kaiju friends
>>5947619
One of those kaiju being Miclas... who anon put Ultraseven on top of. Nice job getting that right.
Is there any way to get into Kaiju shit as a poorfag? I would love to but all the good shit seems really pricey.
>>5947546
What's the armadillo with sunglasses from? It looks damn familiar, but I can't place it.
>>5947897
I was in the same boat about a year ago, but a fellow who was also a 'poorfag' showed me how he budgeted the little money he got his hands on and has an impressive MonsterArts Collection.
>>5947897
Hunt deals. Never stop, always be hunting.
You'll find stuff.
I got a friggin Revoltech Anguirus at retail price two years ago.
>>5948033
Nice memorial box KingGoji.
>>5948040
Thanks anon, closest thing I can find to a decent KingGoji that's somewhat articulated.
>>5947904
It's a power rangers evil space alien sockadillo wearing 80s barbie doll glasses.
>>5947993
Notthe same anon, but damn....Those Revoltech Kaijus..The only one that is a decent price is that Baragon. Would like SH to make more Showa era figs
>>5947897
Sofubi can be relatively inexpensive depending on what you're lookin for.
>>5947145
They're not the same. One is the original, another is the Mk-II which has a 13℅ across the board performance upgrade. The third one has different plate coloring, indicating that it's the more powerful prototype that was actually originally developed by the bad guys. While the last is just a cheap NECA knock off of the 1971 version.
Pretty cluttered
I'm a pretty casual kaiju fan.
Is there any cheap figures of Godzilla 2000? It's my favorite design.
I really wish Orga or Raiju had figures. Or Zilla had a well articulated one.
>>5948315
>Is there any cheap figures of Godzilla 2000?
I think Bandai is re releasing their vinyl godzilla 2000 this year. And I think creation has one too. Neither are particularly great (the bandai normal is pretty nice), but they're about as cheap as you can get
If you want to up the ante monsterarts made 2 versions
>>5948315
Nice Godzilla98!
That Evolve figure fits in a lot better with Kaiju figures than I would have thought!
>>5948033
Fuck yea.
>>5947993
That Rodan and Anguirus are really well done.
Kudos on such a great find! What else you have there?
>>5949077
Too many to put in a single picture with how I have them set up currently.
Forgive the slight blur, I'm not used to this camera.
>>5949342
So you can get a better look at some of them. Love that Mothra so much.
>>5949344
From the other side.
>>5949349
And lastly, this little skirmish.
Otachi is just a HUGE beast.
Sorry for the dump.
>>5949349
How is that bank? Is it worth it?
>>5949386
If you want a cute, little electric bank with Godzilla in it, then it's everything you could want.
(cell phone camera pic)
>>5948071
Is there a way to have cheap sofubi online?
Oh and since you can barely see Showa Gamera at all in any of my pics.
Pretty sure Revoltech is doing a rerelease on all their Gamera stuff.
Also Baragon is literally perfect. I don't think any of my pics properly showed off his cuteness.
Discovered the Mc farlane serie Warrior of the Zodiac the other day.
>>5949428
If that sucker could strike a pose, I'd be all up ons.
Very cool little crabby.
>>5949416
Mandarake, amiami, hlj. Amazon sometimes.
>>5950094
Here's what I have out, more in storage
Sorry for potato cam,my ultra act and some custom kaijus.
>>5950485
Nice Wolfman you Godzilla Collectors group cuck.
>>5950113
Nice Goldar. Is yours made of soft vinyl? I remember mine being soft vinyl, but then later ones like my Soccadillo being made of a hard plastic. If so were all the first wave of alien monsters sofubi, but then later lines cast in plastic to justify the price point in America?
>>5948064
Thanks anon! I had a feeling he was a PR guy, I never had him though.
>>5950913
I can't even recall that far back. I got that goldar in a store in Metropolis, IL a couple years ago and he is indeed soft vinyl.
>>5950485
whats the guy to the left of the white wolf?
INEEDIT
> Not really a kaijuu fan
> ended up with these anyway
>>5951190
That's GLORIOUS Baltan, I randomly had one as a kid, even though I've still never seen any Ultraman.
>>5951203
Whoa whoa whoa, that is a way cooler version of the eyeball monster i have. Details? I need to upgrade
>>5951219
That's the last version of the Ultra Monster Series Gan Q. It's from 2012 or 13, when Bandai still gave a fuck about 6" vinyls, before the Ultra Monster 500 line's time. That's where you got your shittier 4" Gan Q.
>>5951190
Ultra act baltan 2,just ordered the figuarts baltan 1,saw a pic hes same height as ultra acts.
Anyone got the 1954 S.H?
How is he? I'm weighing the price value.
>>5951206
As a kid, I had a random set of Kamen Rider Black and RX sofubi but I didn't know what they were from.
>>5953612
There are tons of in depth reviews of it.
>>5953787
I'm an insecure manchild who collects toys and only values the opinions of people on this board.
>>5953788
I see
>>5953612
It's good, I like it. Probably my favorite SHMA. Probably one of the best articulated, and the least amount of joints popping out, on mine atleast
>>5953975
but one thing to note, mine had his eyes painted on looking forward. Some reviewers had theirs pointing in different directions. The box art shows them pointing out to the sides.
I wish mine was like the box, cus it's movie accurate and I love the goofiness of Godzilla suits.
I got mine for around $80, which is pretty steep, but I don't regret it.
>>5954075
From a Japanese fan-film about a giant werewolf that fights the 1962 Godzilla.
>>5954149
Important note is that said "fan" worked on friggin Godzilla movies.
I pray that we'll see it finished one day.
>>5953612
You'd be better off getting the NECA. Better value for the cost.
>>5954149
I meant the figure, I am familiar with the film.
I thought it was released on dvd like last summer?
>>5953612
I like him. Not a lot of variation in the paint but the sculpt is pretty sharp.
Sorry for crappy camera phone. Also, mirror back display case makes it hard to take good photos
>>5956336
Pt 2
>>5956336
nice except for the anime girls..
get rid of that shit man
>>5954075
Its a custom i sculpted wolfman features on a hoth wampa black series figure.
>>5956341
Nice
Good touch with pairings kiryu with white heron and 2014 with the SD figures

What are the cards/medallions?
>>5957286
Theater exclusive medals sold during the movie runs. I think I have them all but I'm not sure. I haven't been able to find any from earlier than 1992.
>>5957457
That's keen. I'm a bit jealous, won't lie.
>>5957583
Not him, but becoming hot and selling your asshole sounds like a plausible method.
Or be strict with what you buy, use those additional toy funds on higher-priced figures.
So whats a good (read: good articulation) Godzilla figure? Are the NECA's good? The SH Monsterarts?
>>5957724
Both are very good. Though you'll run into cons with both. Price is a factor, how much you want to spend..NECA only has a few versions out (though they're all excellent), Monsterarts has a larger variety of G-man out there now.
NECA's are sturdy, solid action figures with good articulation. MA are typically hollow, light, super articulated figures...that can have loose joints, pop apart in places, and can be kind of frustrating in their own ways.
Still, you can't go wrong either way. I'd say pricepoint's gonna be the biggest deciding factor. I buy both, so, I'm pretty happy with what I get.
Bought that special for s.h monster arts king Ghidorah for 135, did I do good?
>>5957736
My pricepoint would hover between $20-60 more or less. What would you recommend specifically, anything thats just plain better that other Godzilla's in that range for whatever reasons?
>>5957724
They're both hit-or-miss in some areas.
If you're just looking for a Godzilla in general, I'd recommend the SHMA 1954 or Burning Godzilla/Rebirth (it's an older figure, but it's vanilla enough and still pretty poseable).
1954: http://longsickness.blog51.fc2.com/blog-entry-911.html
If you're buying Rebirth, try to get the second release (which is what places such as Amazon would have in stock). This is because the plastic is different and won't have that torso popping off issue. Also no blue paintwash, unfortunately.
>>5957740
If you wait around christmas time, I heard sites like barnes and noble and such do discounts. I got spitefire godzilla 2014 then because I wasn't sure if it was gonna have problems or not.
Generally, NECA's best Godzilla's seem to be 1954 and 2014.
If you're willing to go up a bit in price range, SHMA special color 2000 was 70-75 price range but it's great, probably their best
>>5957736
>MA are typically hollow, light
Aside from 1964 (granted he's undersized), none of them are 'light'.
And with NECAs, you also have the issue with glossy plastic for most releases. Unless you don't mind spraying it with a matte can.
>>5957738
If that's after shipping, yeah I guess. That's what Amazon has him for.
>>5957740
If you're shooting for $60, you might be able to snag the Monsterart "Birth" Godzilla...which is technically meant to be a grown Junior, but who the fuck cares, it's a good Godzilla...but his torso pops apart pretty easily. Minor nit.
If you want a NECA, I'd say grab the GMK one that's on their Ebay store now (and should hit TRUs very, very soon hopefully). That, or their 1954 Godzilla are really awesome.
>>5957758
>Aside from 1964 (granted he's undersized), none of them are 'light'.
They're all very light. I don't know what you're talking about. The other monsters have more heft to them, but the Godzillas have become more and more lightweight since they're just ball joint skeletons with plastic shells on them.
>>5957752
>If you're buying Rebirth, try to get the second release (which is what places such as Amazon would have in stock). This is because the plastic is different and won't have that torso popping off issue. Also no blue paintwash, unfortunately.
Does anyone have any side-by-side pictures of these first and second release?
>>5957761
How heavy do you even want them, exactly?
The only SHMA Godzilla mold I don't have is GMK, and they all feel fine barring 1964.
>>5957724
Both are good.
NECA's are very sturdy and feel solid, but they tend to have a glossy finish that looks like they just came out of water. Also they tend to have tails that are: 3 points then a bendy wire
Monsterarts have the edge in texture and possibility, but sometimes that can have issues like loose joints and parts. Sometimes these can be solved with the nail polish method
>>5957724
There are issues now and then with MA...
>>5957759
>If you want a NECA, I'd say grab the GMK
Whats GMK stand for? Is that the one without any eyes (just whites of the eyes?) I see on their eBay store?
>>5957772
My G14 never had that issue. Everything was perfect barring the shitty teeth apps.
And even then, can't you just floor polish that problem?
>>5957775
GMK - godzilla Mothra king Ghidorah
And yes
>>5957776
Not him, but there was also an issue with the legs. They sculpted them so far up that it was hard for him to stand up straight without having one of the legs overlapping into the other, making him have an uneven stance.
Doenst make it a bad figure though, at least with spitfires case
>>5957780
Yeah, G14 is a pretty expressive figure imo.
I was disappointed by Spitfire in a few ways. The clear plastic really does give some areas a too glossy sheen, doesn't feel as nice to touch, and the green airbrushing is barely noticeable. The toes might as well not even be painted.
>>5957783
>I can, but that doesn't mean I should or that it wasn't a problem to begin with worth bringing up.
I agree, especially at the price point. Was just pointing out that it's thankfully a fixable issue.
Spacegodzilla's fuckin' head however...
>>5957793
I've always wanted Spacegodziller, what's wrong with his head?
>>5957806
It's on a double-sized ball-joint. The end that plugs into his neck is SUPER tight, meaning that when you try to move Space's head, it just pops off because that end refuses to budge.
Unfortunately, due to the way the ball socket is designed, you can't really take the entire joint out and sand it down either. Well, maybe you can but I imagine it'd be hard as fuck to put it back in.
I tried putting a bit of shock oil inside but it didn't really do anything. Might just need to add more.
>>5957821
>double-sized
double-sided, rather.
i know i need to dust..
>>5957842
Before anyone gives you shit...
You have nice stuff.
I finally got around to watching the 2014 Godzilla, and I must say I really like the design of the MUTOs. Are there any good figures of them though? Because all the ones I've seen have left me less than impressed.
>>5957861
i have a lot more godzilla stuff not pictured that i can't put because my wife doesn't want it taking up the whole room, so i only allowed one shelf for my favs, not pictured on the floor are the large Jaks 2014 and 78' Shogun
i also tried to do each shelf as fantasy/scifi/godzilla etc (i'm aware that nausicaa is scifi but i like her there)
>>5957852
i too love the design of the MUTO wish they had done a nicely detailed figure of them
>>5957940
You speak as if Legendary and Bandai are the same companies.
>>5957949
I know they're different companies, but it seems like you wouldn't want your brand new, original monsters only merchandise to be crap. Or in the case of Bandai, make crap for said monster.
>>5957969
Eh, it's more like they don't have confidence that high-quality MUTOs would sell well enough.
>>5957940
Because Toho.
>>5957969
probably didn't want to do it because they weren't designed by the Japanese
the MUTO were two of the very few adversaries i ever felt something for in a Godzilla film
>>5957583
I'm a poorfag too.. but I lucked out and started early. Its not too expensive if you only get 2-3 figures a year.
I got these today. I'm not entirely sure what I'm supposed to do with them. Leaving them in the bags seems pointless but it's not like they have a lot of play value open. No clue why these hoes were $90 each
>>5958573
>$90
>each
Ha ha...What? I mean...What?
That literally looks like some bootleg shit you pick up at a dollar store.
>>5958576
Yet it's not
> The Godzilla Vinyl Wars line is a collaboration between Japan’s classic sofubi (soft vinyl figure) manufacturers and cutting-edge toy maker Medicom Toy. Each release in GVW is a reproduction of a classic Toho sofubi from the 1960s through today, released legitimately for Western collectors for the first time ever.
> This classic Bullmark figure of the villain from GODZILLA VS MEGALON (ゴジラ対メガロ, Gojira Tai Megaro, 1973) was re-released in Japan in February 2015 as the M1Go Bullmark Reproduction Megalon (M1号 ブルマァク復刻 メガロ). Featuring color design by Yuji Nishimura from M1Go and produced with the cooperation of Bullmark’s Saburo Ishizuki
Still not sure why the price tag tho
>>5958583
I guess /toy/ collectors really will pay for anything. No wonder why we get screwed so hard so often by so many companies.
Just ordered this beautiful bastard.
>>5958576
>>5958583
>>5958589
These are hand painted and produced in limited production runs specifically for vinyl collectors. They are expensive for the same reason any other collectors item is expensive. They are worth the money if you collect them, and not worth it if you don't.
You can take them out of the bag.. it won't hurt the value. Just make sure you keep them clean and don't rub any of the paint off.
So is the NECA GMK Godzilla available yet or what?
>>5959718
Yes. It is.
>>5959085
Same person
Hate to be "that guy" but does anyone here have the Atomic Breath 2014 Godzilla and pic related?
Do the colors match in person?
So, Final Wars Godzilla when?

>>5959137
Thanks, anon. I think I'll free up some space on the shelf and give them a home outside the bag.
Now I gotta find a matching Godzilla
>>5960005
I wish, but odds are slim, they're gonna be spending the next few months releasing shin, his forms, and whatever repaints that can use GMK and 54 for
>>5959743
Gotchu.
I'm not sure I'd say its a perfect match, but it works well.
>>5960031

>>5957862
X-Plus did a miniature vinyl of the male flying MUTO as their Ric-Boy exclusive bonus. Not sure if that's out yet. It might be smaller than the Bandai but looked more detailed.
Someone please tell me Shin Goji Monsterarts has the atomic breath effects. You know the ones.
>>5963690
Just put purple laser pointers on the dorsal fins and mouth
Yo I NEED a purple glowing Shin Goji
>>5963742
They made a glowing blue one for 2014, they're definitely gonna re-use the mold for Shin.
Just got back from seeing shin godzilla.
Wont spoil anything but I really think itd be cool if we got figures of what was revealed at the very end.
Do either of the NECA or SHMA Shin Godzillas have a bottom mandible/jaw/whatever that separates in the middle? For when he's shooting his beam
>>5963277
It's such an awful feeling
Godzilla Collectors Group doesn't like the new movie guys : (
>>5963754
Nope. Be prepared for the Tamashii Web Exclusive Super Duper Japan Bandai Exclusive version with a new head and purple spines. Only $300.
>>5963812
I saw a few reviews from the so called "pillars of the community", they just spouting shit that seems salty: claiming anno is some shut in otaku and flat out calling the film muh-soggynist
Of all things their bitching about its politics, ffs we laughed at people who did that with calling godzilla vs king Ghidorah anti american
>>5963876
I liked it but after the BIG SCENE you'll know the one when you see it there's this..what feels like 30 minute unnecessary section of talking that needed editing. Like no joke miss Patterson didn't need half the screen time she got. Leaky the weak link. Otherwise I like it a lot and it was a stronk movie.
>>5963876
>I saw a few reviews from the so called "pillars of the community"
Who?
Please don't say August.
>>5963885
The Norman England guy,
>>5963892
That guy barely likes anything.
>>5963897
I heard apparently the august guy didn't like it either, but they're all bitching about the politics it seems, I haven't heard any other weak ass claims of mysoggyknees
>>5963901
August worked closely with the film's production, it's surprising that he would dislike it.
>>5953612
The NECA looks more accurate. The SHMA is really fun to mess with, great poseability and balance.
Overall I like the SHMA more but it's hard to justify the price difference.
>>5964002
The funny thing is, sh monsterarts have us a figure with all the goofy pose potential a Showa figure could ask for
The problem, it's for probably the least appropriate one
>>5964014
Fuck. Imagine if it was adorable 70s Goji with that build, size and articulation. And maybe that tree to fuck up Megalon with. Or towers to strap across his magnetized chest.
>>5963876
I thought it was an enjoyable movie, but it does drag a bit, and the breakneck speed to the dialogue and editing (while part of the joke of Japanese politics) does get tiring.
Why was it misogynist? Who was retarded enough to even think that?
I also didn't really like that Godzilla was just kind of there...he wasn't a character, he wasn't intelligent, he was just...there. Kind of moving and reacting. I guess it was different and interesting to some degree, but eh.
Not my favorite movie by any means, but still fun to watch. Especially in a theater full of people.
>>5964014
>least appropriate
>in a hobby thats all about collecting
No thank you
>>5963750
We already do though
I really want to get the Shin Godzilla Monsterart, but I have a feeling that they're gonna come out with a much cooler beam firing version. Anyone else feel the same?
>>5964548
I'll buy the beam version hands down
The current one is too expensive for something so plain
>>5963812
Damn, saw the movie yesterday
The theater was packed about 90% full, only empty seats were the first 2 front rows
Audience laughed at a lot of the political jokes and soggy ramen
We all clapped at the end
Very enjoyable movie. Probably up there in the top 10 for me
Overall experience was a 10/10 would recommend
I swear if those bastards make Kamata-kun a P-Bandai exclusive I will be VERY UPSET
>>5964681
Yeah the experience was better than the movie. I felt bad for the kids in the theater though...reading is bad enough, but reading fast enough to keep up with everything? Ouch.
>>5964678
Yeah, even though I really enjoy his design. I'm gonna buy his 2 younger forms though, Cute, ugly bastards.
>>5947581
I'd let her wrestle my kaiju
>>5958573
Looks like medicom sofubi but i'm no expert. Just put them where they fit. And sell them later.
Hi
>>5965098
>>5965100
>>5965109
I just wish it wasn't so stocky looking.
>>5965111
He's a big guy
>>5965114
>>5965120
That looks like an old trendmasters figure where the proportions are skewed to look "cooler".
>>5965123
His eyes are facing forward, like 54. I don't like that.
>>5965120
No elbow or tail articulation?
>>5965143
No sir for elbows. Tail probably on a bendy wire.
>>5965109
>a first
More like a fifth.
>>5965157
Probably from looking at the Monsterart too long. It was like looking at sculpted feces. This looks right on.
>>5965162
December 2017
>>5965169
Cute, but not true.
Question. How does the old GD-57 Mecha Godzilla stack up against the newer Monsterarts version? I held off on getting the latter and it's now crazily priced. So I'm thinking of settling for the old one.
From what I can see, the old one lacks articulation vs the Monsterarts one and the plating has a tendency to fall off?
>>5965168
Neca's eyes aren't even sculpted right, they're looking forward while the SHMA is inwards to the side, like in the movie.
>>5963901
It sucks because the fanbase doesn't think for themselves and just regurgitates the opinions of these people.
On the other hand after years of fancying themselves as critics and important voices in the fanbase they kinda come off as buttblasted fanboys since the movie is both a critical and commercial success in Japan!
I think it really tans their hide that an anime director did something with more meaning and impact that Kaneko did.
>>5965148
Nah, you can see a cut on the elbow. And the tail's segments as well. It's just hard to see thanks to the sculpt/design.
>>5965100
Something is off about this. The tail doesn't seem to have as much articulation as the Monsterarts.
But, I'm gonna wait to buy any Shin Goji stuff just to see if they end up making a beam version.
>>5965120
That looks super good!
Yeah after seeing the movie last night, the NECA isn't too accurate, but I like the paint and it'll hold me down until an inevitable repainted SHMA cause that will be waaaaaaay cooler I can't wait
>>5965435
I just hope it isn't too much more expensive. Or worse, P-bandai.
I would have pre-ordered the Monsterarts one if I already didn't have figures I've been waiting for for a lot longer coming out.
I'm sure that after the 2 smaller forms are released, Monsterarts is gonna unveil a beam firing version which will look better.
>>5965098
I can't fucking stand how big his head is. And maybe should be more.. stretched out? Idunno, or maybe the heads just throwing me off.
Still gonna get it though
>>5965488
>>5965576
The red paint seems fine in the pics without the flash, but the head look too big in all angles. That in itself isn't too big of a problem if they wanted to take some liberties with the sculpt, but the biggest issue is the horrid under bite. Maybe they'll fix it if they get enough feedback like 84?
>>5965109
Yeah, neither look great, but the monsterarts is just flat out awful. What's worse that it costs more and is bigger than the rest of the line of their Godzilla's but it's SHMA worst looking fig by far
>>5965589
>Maybe they'll fix it if they get enough feedback like 84?
I really dont think so. They showed off this big head sculpt months ago and there was no outcry then
Their fuck up with the 84 sculpt was so horrendous they didn't have much of a choice. There were other screw ups with that figure too but they only fixed the extreme.
This new shin Godzilla's head isnt that extreme so I doubt theyll change it
>>5965623
Yeah I'm not too hopeful, since this is a painted production version. Oh well, I'll still buy it. Probably looks pretty good with the mouth open.
>>5965603
What exactly is wrong with the monsterarts version? Seems to be the most accurate between the two.
>tfw I really want NECA to do Goji 2000 so I don't have to drop $75+ for the SHMA
>>5965644
The G2k SHMA is the second best Godzilla of the line, worth every penny. Well, the original one at least.
>>5965623
I just looked up the original NECA 84, woo boy they dodged a bullet.
>>5965638
Looking at their twitter now, almost every comment is saying the head is a tad too big, so hopefully they fix it
but probably wont
>>5965642
The gummy looking, glossy paint job doesn't look anything like the movie Godzilla's texture, the face looks terrible. And not in the "it's accurate to how ugly shin godzilla is" way, but the it looks like it was slapped together and doesn't look like the actual model
>>5965658
Articulation is somewhat flawed because of the spines, can't rotate to one side.
>>5965679
Yeah that's true. The rest of the articulation is fine though, and the spikes are fuckin insane.
>>5965661
That'd be awesome. Though it's not even the size that's the main problem, it's the under bite they gotta fix. The size of the head can change depending on the angle, but that under bite is too obvious. I unfortunately don't have a pic of the prototype, but I remember it being much more even.
>>5965098
Is there seriously a guy so invested in NECA products that he's going to continuously post how much better this looks over the SHMA?
The face is all wrong and the body is too short stacked, the figure's mass/anatomy is all off. Good for $20 but come the heck on, they missed the mark on quite a lot.
>>5965722
All he did was post it nigga chill
>>5965722
That imies the monsterarts actually looks good
Monsterarts made figures of GMK, 54, and Heisei (rebirth), ones neca did, and they were at least good to begin with so yeah it's justifiable to say they were better because they were good to begin with
It's not that neca did a great or even very good job, it's that the monsterarts is so terrible the bar is set so damn low that anyone can crawl under it.
The barely bandai vinyl looks better than the monsterarts
>>5965747
*barely painted bandai
>>5965747
The Monsterarts isn't perfect and has some strange design choices, but when I look at it, I obviously feel like I'm looking at the character in a small, physical embodiment.
Complaining about the texture is fair enough, but I don't get that general feeling when looking at the NECA. They already opted for strange liberties like designing frontal eyelids/vision for the (oversized at that) head sculpt. Gonna have to disagree with you here.
>>5965763
This is the main thing if feel people overlook: the head on the monsterarts just doesn't properly represent the movie one at all. The movie one looks a bit derpy, but this just reeks of the same slapped together paint and mold nature that they did with 2014.
It's like they took 1 step forward with GMK and 3 giant steps back with this.
GMK and 54 are good figures, this just isn't at all, and is especially inexcusable when they have a larger scale and therefore more room to improve a figure tHan if it was normal scale
>>5965774
You keep saying "slapped together" and I have no clue what you're trying to convey, the engineering isn't perfect, much like many aspects of the figure, but I can clearly see the proper likeness they're going for, there's very little distraction, where as the Neca has fundamental issues such as being noticeably large and retooled eyelids that stand out.
>>5965787
Slapped together in that the paint on the mouth and the teeth jutting out looks sloppily done like their 2014. It doesn't convey any of the menace from the cgi model, which is especially apparent when looking at the figure straight on and the cgi model straight on. It looks very messy in that there are bright reds and the small whites of the teeth, something that isn't apparent with the movie version. Whereas the movie version has some sort of menace, this just looks goofy.
Even the barely painted bandai vinyl evokes this better than the shma. The shma overall just looks like a very weak representation of the monster, not only for its size but especially when compared to the other figures of similar or even smaller size japan out out
>>5965799
I'm willing to forgive paint hiccups on any figure so long as the sculpt is passable, and pretty much all SHMA have "bleeding" to a lesser degree, so given the meticulous detail of said character, I'm not surprised by the outcome. (And if you wanna talk about bleeding, the large scale Bandai series and SEGA figure aren't any better in that regard, the latter even has white toenail paint bleeding into the foot on mine)
In any case I don't think the paint on NECA's release is particularly good, and there's still visible (from a noticeable distance) issues that need to be addressed. You can't do this woke, "essence of a toy" collector manifesto while ignoring clear cut problems on the opposite end. I'm honestly convinced you're a troll just doing some gimmick since you'll go post after post repeating the same thing with little articulation, but I'll level with you regardless.
>>5965098
>>5965100
>>5965103
>>5965120
Head needs to be much smaller
>>5965120
THe head needs to be scaled down.
>>5965980
That's way too small dude. The head's fine as it is.
>Its a NECA vs Monsterarts fight
Guys, c'mon, everyone has different tastes, no need to call them shit because you don't agree.
>>5965980
This looks a lot better now
>>5965980
Now the neck is too thick
Did NECA say anything about making a 12" tall version of Shin Godzilla(like they did with the 2014 Godzilla)?
>>5966166
No. There are no plans for one. It'd be cool though, I think it'll depend on the success of the movie here.
What's the name of the enormous, well detailed Legendary Godzilla?
>>5966139
Roid Rage Zilla baby
>>5965660
To be fair, thats the prototype, the release version has a much better head.
Its probably my favorite Neca G actually, thats and the Nes one
What are the vital Godzilla forms to own? Correct answer:
>'54 Goji
>Heisei Goji (end of/Destroyah)
>Legendary Goji
>Shin Goji
>>5966424
Why...why did my phone post this pic...
>>5966427
You're forgetting MosuGoji.
I think a stern argument could be made for BioGoji and G2K as well.
NECAs Shin Godzilla is a good figure for $20, I agree, the thing is like people are like "well its proportions are off a bit, but it's good for a $20 figure" but like.. I dont know how to put it. Saying that makes it sound like if it was the same figure but with correct proportions it would be worth more money. Like, more accurate proportions shouldnt add to a figures budget.
More sculpt work? Yeah, that costs money. More paint detail yeah, that adds to the cost. More articulation? absolutely. More accurate proportions? No. That shouldnt be effected by the cost. It's just due to a shoddy sculptor.
I buy all the NECA Godzilla figures and enjoy them for what they are, but man... If they got the same sculptors working on Godzilla that they use for their predators or aliens then we'd be in fucking business. A lot of their figures really do rival a lot of higher end japanese imports in terms of sculpt (not articulation)... Just not the Godzilla line unfortunately. Maybe they are the same sculptors and just need more experience with Godzilla, or they just aren't as invested, I don't know.
Imagine if NECA's Godzillas were sculpted by someone who was just as skilled as Yuji Sakai. To me that would be the perfect Godzilla line. With the sturdiness and weight of a NECA figure, with the sculpt of a SHMA? All NECA needs is to do is sculpt better.
>>5966523
>Maybe they are the same sculptors and just need more experience with Godzilla, or they just aren't as invested, I don't know.
Randy denies it but plenty of people connected to NECA have openly shared that the head honcho "doesn't get" Godzilla, and when you look at how things such as the original Godzilla '84 sculpt passed a quality test for public reveal, it's pretty telling.
>>5966528
>and when you look at how things such as the original Godzilla '84 sculpt passed a quality test for public reveal, it's pretty telling.
true, but to my knowledge TOHO also has to give the ok on that, so it's kinda just weird all around how that happened
Kamata-kun is cute, cute!!!
>>5965660
actually I wanted this one
>>5965100
I feel like the tail needs to be a bit more large
>>5966523
It's a good figure for just about any price, I don't really understand you trying to put it down by saying that kind of stupid bullshit.
Their sculptors are a hell of a lot better than any of what Bandai has.
>>5966621
what did i say thats incorrect?
Why are Godzilla "fans" always such unhappy dildos? You bitch about Bandai, you bitch about NECA, you bitch about vinyl.
You're all just a despicable lot of assholes.
>>5965980
Looks like Shin's head on Heisei's modded body.
>>5967117
Yeeah, no, that's not what it looks like at all.
Mutos really can't catch a break.
Sorry if this is a question you guys get all the time, but I don't dabble in kaiju too often. I own one SHMA Goji and one NECA, and they're pretty good, but it got me wondering. Has there ever been a RIDICULOUSLY poseable Goji, even one that perhaps fucks with his proportions to achieve it? I kinda like the idea of owning a Godzilla that can do JoJo-esque poses or the Iron Man ground punch.
>>5967132
As much as it hurts me to say, they would shelf warm.
>>5967135
Not really, no. The design just doesn't really lead to such poses unless you really sacrifice the sculpt or whatever.
That said, I remember somebody on 2chan posing their SHMA 1954 into an Iron Man pose and other dynamic poses. Can't find the pictures anymore tho
>>5967135
SHMA godzilla 1954 is surprisingly poseable, but they didnt really fuck with the proportions to achieve it, it's just engineered really well.
I cant find the picture, but basically theres a pic of it doing the splits while leap frogging over a building, and another one of him actually doing the iron man pose I think
Neca godzilla looks like some molten rock monster,i love it!
>>5966677
Its one guy who keeps on talking shit about the anons criticizing the NECA Goji.
Keep in mind, there is no favoritism between Monsterarts and NECA. Both have their faults.
If we could somehow fuse NECA and MA Shin Goji, it would be the perfect figure.
>>5967312
Monsterarts can keep their high price if they'd just toss in a handful of accessories with each monster. Gimme some tanks, effects, and a couple broken buildings and I'll happily drop a hundred plus.
>>5967317
The sad part is, is that they used to. I'm not sure why its come down to just the Kaiju themselves, but it has. MOGURA has the most accessories of the whole series.
>>5967321
MOGURA is why they stopped doing it, or so I heard. MOGURA sold pretty bad while the accessory free Godzilla Millennium sold like gang busters.
>>5967327
I mean, its MOGURA. Not the most popular of Godzilla's mech's.
>>5967192
here they are
>>5967343
>>5967327
Pretty sure all that extra stuff was to help sell a lesser known figure.
It's a real shame Mogura didn't sell better. He's one of the best figures in the line. His engineering alone is amazing.
>>5967346
>>5963277
Just saw it tonight, oh my god i hope bandai, and this is a spoiler, makes a color ult for the atomic breath like how they did 2014. The purple highlights are fucking gorgeous, and LASER BACK DISCO INFERNO MAKES ME ROCK HARD.
Also, i want a giant plush pre mutation godzilla to snuggle with.
>>5967363
They're probably gonna make an alternate one with a beam firing effect. They're already making his oddly adorable younger forms.
>>5967370
>They are already making his oddly adorable younger forms
YES YES YES!
I haven't heard of any of this, but i hope both of those are true. The atomic 2014 zilla is beautiful, and the purple of shinji would really liven up my collection. Plus it's sexy as fuck.
>>5967389
oh its true baby
>>5967399
Baby Shinji too pure for this world. Wonderful, blood filled, puffy marshmallow boy.
>>5967399
Man I totally regret not grabbing the the second and third form Bandai vinyls, I just imported Shin Goji, thinking "there's no well those ugly things will sell, I can grab them later."
Then the movie came out and Japan fell in love with those specific forms, now they're nowhere to be found and aftermarket prices shot up. Horrible CGI models but understandably cute...
So is the shin vinyl going to properly be released in the States? I'm not spending 50+ on shit
>>5967430
Bandai Creations might do their token adaptation that ends up looking worst than the original release, but nothing so far.
>>5967346
I did not know he was this poseable.
>>5967578
He only is if you're willing to risk breaking the joints. I'm not one to risk $80.
>>5967629
That's not true lmao, he is pretty great to pose
>>5967653
It's entirely true, the figure is ready to break apart with barely any movement as it is.
Look who's here
Decent paint job
Spooky too!
>>5967399
These things are gonna sell like hotcakes. The moment they're up for preorder, I'm grabbing them.
>>5967815
I don't know why, but my Spitfire G14 is way more prone tot he awkward neck gaps than my standard G14. It's even worse because, the translucent blue can be seen through the neck gaps in many angles which makes the figure difficult to work ith.
>>5957821
I'm glad I'm not the only one.
>>5958589
I'm with that other anon whats the source of his picture?
Holy shit... NECA did it. They actually did it. The madmen
>>5968009
Doesn't fix the body proportions but it's an upgrade for sure, especially if they keep working on it.
>>5968009
Looks good.
Here's hoping they go with some kind of matte finish instead of the typical NECA glossy-cheap-shit look.
>>5968009
Any word on if they're making Kamata-kun and the other form?
>>5968021
Actually in this case I'm hoping for the typical NECA paint job. Seeing the movie I thought Godzilla's colors were way more loud and bright in the movie than any other Shin out now or revealed. The colors on the proto are the only thing I really like with it as shown. We'll see how it turns out in the end with the possible sculpt changes, but I'm slightly optimistic.
>>5968009
Nice. Still has some problems, but that's at least one major improvement.
>>5968009
What bugs me now how big the arms are. If that fixed that too I'd be excited for this figure.
Hopefully it can stand more upright too, Shin Godzilla stood pretty straight up. I don't remember him being hunched like that when he stood naturally
>>5968019
Bitch, bitch, bitch...
>>5968009
I want to cum on those thighs. Not gonna lie.
>>5968009
Never thought I'd say it, but thank you based NECA. The underbite looks better.
Let's judge each other
Top 3 films:
>Gojira
>Destroyah
>GMK
(haven't seen Shin yet)
Top 3 Big G designs
>Shin
>GMK
>Legendary
Favorite era:
>Heisei
So I took the liberty to photoshop the head 3% smaller, since Randy said theyre going to make it about that size smaller.
I also made a comparison with the actual maquette. I know they're slightly different angles, but it was the best I could find.
From what I can gather, all they have to do is make the lower torso a tad bit long, and the arms slightly smaller and it would be near perfect.
>>5968310

I would but don't have a twitter. I encourage you or anyone else to though
All I've got.
Rec me a Godzilla to buy.
>>5968959
NECA's '94 Godzilla.
A) It's a fairly generic Godzilla that can fit in with most collections. The original Godzilla's more distinct but as a product of its time, also kinda goody looking.
B) The articulation and build quality are surprisingly acceptable.
C) It's relatively cheap. It might be the cheapest detailed, fairly articulated Godzilla right now. It's good for dipping your toes into the waters.
>>5968326
The body on the statue looks longer because the cam is at a lower angle and possibly a different FOV. Look at the hands.
Practicing some photoshoop.
>>5969552
....
Now make it come out his butt.
Cute Kamata-Kun keychain on AmiAmi
>>5969552

>>5967817
He's purty
More SEGA figures coming out, including a purple repaint of the current SEGA Shin Goji.
>picture for ants etc.
>>5969868
Sega Goji figure is probably the worst likeness of the bunch, but points for trying, maybe. Their plush game is quite strong though.
>>5969868

>>5969894
Keep in mind the three on the bottom are small, strap plush size.

>>5968959
Ayy nice, I've got both of those.
Step it up though, get yourself GMK Godzilla, they produced enough where he's not like 90+
>>5969860
I approve, well done.
>>5968959
Depends on the design you like.
If you like Legendary '14, go with Spitfire.
If you like Shin, the NECA and Monsterarts will both be fine candidates.
Same for '54.
My personal fave is NECA '54, but any NECA or Monsterart will probably satisfy your Godzilla hunger.
Do you guys think Bandai would make SHMAs of the... well..
One of those things pertaining to the end twist of Shin Godzilla?
Shit would be so cool.
>>5970557
I'd say just buy the figma Giant God Warrior.
>>5970562
I want to, was actually looking for a good deal on one before I saw this but it wouldnt be the same
Only have this ghidorah figure.
Hoping to get a cheap shin figure, but they all seem pretty expensive at the moment.
Any of ya'll have the Monster King series Shin Goji? Thinking about ordering but I'm not 100% convinced yet.
>>5970859
It's cool, want to repaint it. Think it might look a lot cooler.
>>5969868
Are orders for these open yet?
>>5972093
By "these", I meant in your pic
>>5972093
How do you take the plastic off those without hurting the mold?
Is there a fix for this saggy left wing issue on SHMA King Ghidorah? Mine has it and it's been bothering me.
>>5972105
The tags? I've heard some anons say the old hairdryer method, but I'm too nervous about doing so to try.
>>5950693
What's wrong with that group? It doesn't seem that bad especially compared to other kaiju fb groups
>>5969861
> someone thought it was worth the time to make this
>>5972093
Do you care for a possible raddling sound when moving it?
If not, cut the tag's connector close to the figure, and push the connector through with a paperclip or something small and precise.
The connector is the same thing they put tags on clothes with.
>>5972131
I shoved a quarter underneath mine. it seems to do the trick
>>5965660
I have this figure. I mean, not the odd looking prototype, but the actual one. Keep in mind I'm not a huge toy collector and have no Japanese figures (beside a dope revotech Gamera I got on sale for 20 on Amazon), but I love Godzilla and Japanese monster films. My collection is the aforementioned Gamera revotech, and then the NECA versions of 54, 84, Burning and 2014. 54 is probably the most screen accurate, but the 84 is my favorite figure. I really with they woulda made the 2014 like an inch bigger though, just because I have the on my desk together n it just seems weird having him the same size. I'd totally buy a rerelease if he was an inch bigger n had the blue fins going.
I plan to buy the NECA Shin, and I hope he's a little bigger too. I wish they had a purple version of him going n not the glowing red version.
Bumms me out NECA hasn't made any other Toho monsters yet either. I'd buy the shit out of em. I just can't bring my poor self to pay the prices of those Japanese figures, especially the older harder to get like Anguirus (my favorite). But NECA's 20 buck price point really feels comfortable to me with the quality I get. I can't justify paying much more on my budget though. I hope we get more Toho monsters from them. Also, an earlier goofy Godzilla or a Final Wars version
>>5958589
Too many damn people demand sauce. Just serve it up already anon. We'll pay you in kindness
Got a little too much effects for the 4 Kaijus I have.
