I really should be waiting for more things to go on sale and buy them then, but it always seems kinda difficult to predict what will go on sale, and if I guess wrong I'll have to buy things I want at scalper prices.

Sale stuff tends to be impulse buys for me of things I didn't really want to pay for at full price (gen doubledealer, sky reign limbs, etc).

Even then I ended up paying full price for the piece of shit that's generations nightbeat who's now being sold for like 5 a piece.

I'm really hoping that scourge shelfwarms so I can buy some to use as sweeps but I'm pretty sure everyone else is army building him as well.

When I got into Transformers in 2013 I just bought a couple of CHUG toys of characters I liked back from the original cartoon and the IDW comics. I have a friend who has been collecting since 2002 so he pointed me to good deals and where to go with Hasbro/Takara/3p too.

I built up my collection pretty steadily at first but just in the past 4 weeks I've bought the following:

I got a relatively well paying job and I've long since provided myself with a stable basis for all my other hobbies/pastimes so I've essentially been buying everything upon local release as long as I remotely care about the character or find the toy interesting.

For instance, I do 'like' Fort Max but don't care about the Titans Return toy so I got a 3p one instead. Another example would be the 30th anniversary release of Bumblebee being somehow cheaper than used Universe Bumblebees so I got that one instead. When I was shopping for MP Star Saber I found a good deal on the Takara fembots so I got them because they're not that common and have no Hasbro versions, rather than caring that much for Slipstream and Nightbird.

Have a random picture showcasing I spend money on TFs instead of getting a phone with a better camera.

I read a little of IDW and enjoyed it (last stand of the wreckers, the first 10 or so issues of mtmte, etc) so maybe I should try reading it again. The djd seem interesting but the overuse of those pilot avatars in the last issues I saw at a comic shop seems kinda stupid.

Generally I keep telling myself I'll stop buying Transformers and only focus on MPs or 3Ps, because there's better toys out there, but dammit TFs are too much fun.

Generally I try to by any Beast Wars releases since thats the series I'm attached to most. I buy almost any beastformer release in general in opes of voting with my dollar and getting a new all-beast series again, but I know that ain't happening. I avoid truly irredeemable releases but I find even mediocre beastformers have a lot of personality thanks to their beast modes being more interesting than some generic vehicles.

That said I really like a well done real-world vehicle mode, which is why I'm so fond of the MP/Human alliance/Alternity lines, even the dated alternators are still cool with me. IO really like how the Diaclone cars all looked like model cars; so any modern figures that can pull that off are much more interesting than the generic vehicles seen most of the time in the Classics lines.

Still, I'm not above just buying what i think looks cool.

I crave a new mp, I want a lambor mold, after looking at prices I have the options of pic related AND Red Alert Anime color edition, red alert and clampdown are second hand HOWEVER clampdown is cheapest (6500yen) and the box, damaged, is unopened, while red alert is 8000yen opened and used, where's red alert anime color edition cost as much as red alert, is brand new and cost as much as red alert, he just has a bland deco in my opinion but still, same guy.

Focus on the guy I actually know, or get the same thing but in a different deco, or get the bland version that has less risk of damage to box and figure?

Not that guy but the black replacing the silver/grey feels a little more special and makes SG OP feel more than just a straight palette swap. They at least screwed around with the colors. I also enjoy the gunmetal mask and the bright lime green on the lights and toes. I prefer the yellow windows on the official piece but I'm really digging the faded purple and dingier blue on the KO.

To each their own, but I just feel like the KO feels more sinister and the official just looks like a "what if OP was a Decepticon" deco.

You won't find much anymore but try family dollar. They have some legion class upscaled with 2 colors of plastic like the no knees prime and movie starscream. They also recently made some Brave God Max ko that are really fucking good.

Other than that the KO in stores has really been hindered due to copyright shit. I miss the days of big lots being swarmed with beast era KO

Keep looking. Its $15, all parts work, includes all weapons, and the plastic feels amazing. Like legitimate toy amazing. The only QC issue I have with it is the pegs on the drills are just a hair too small. I thought the same for the combined gun because it's held loosely but apparently it's like that on the real one too.

Summary for Legends Blaster!

Some time earlier, Twincast and Flip Sides, one of his cassettes, are arrested by Road Rage and brought to Athenia to face charges of Flip Sides being a Decepticon spy. He vehemently defends his friend, refusing to believe these claims, but is forced to accept the truth when Flip Sides reveals her Decepticon persona.

In the present day, it's Twincast's turn to receive his new transtector, a giant mobile deck able to shrink into a handy small form that can be carried around. He uses it to blast his coworkers with music at full volume, pleased by their annoyed reactions that remind him of the good old days as the fun-loving Blaster who'd always do this kind of thing. He remembers having to start taking his duties seriously after becoming Metroplex's City Commander, and as Twincast he's always been doing spy work, but in the peaceful Legends Universe, he can finally throw all that away and become the music-loving Blaster once more! Optimus Primal doesn't care for his "rebirth" and tells him to get back to work.

Later, Blaster combines with his new body in front of his impressed cassettes. Rewind is curious about the appearance of his head, so he explains it to based on his Binaltech body, having enjoyed the peaceful life he lived back then. He then shocks everyone by announcing that he's leaving the Autobot Axalon Trading Company to become a professional musician, and is dissolving the cassette squad so they too have the freedom to live their own lives. His hope is that someday his music will bridge the gap between Autobots and Decepticons, allowing them to join together in a Cybertron Alliance and create a peaceful world where he can meet the imprisoned Flip Sides again.

Things don't go as planned for Blaster, however: entering the world of music is difficult and he soon ends up poor and homeless, trying to sell his CDs on the street to little success. As he reflects on Rosanna's musical career going better than his and wishing his transtector could transform into a house, a giant two-headed monster attacks the city. He joins with his transtector and leaps into action, grabbing a mysterious orb hanging from the beast's neck that turns out to be the Zodiac!

Its energy flows through Blaster, granting his wish by transforming his transtector into a "Zone Mode" base. Joined by Blurr, Hardhead, and his cassette friends, he unleashes the base's firepower on the monster, defeating it and revealing it to be Scourge, similarly transformed by the Zodiac.

In celebration of their victory, Blaster hosts a joint Autobot/Decepticon concert starring Hardhead, Rosanna, and Cancer. He revels in the show, believing music to be the universal language that will bring everyone together... but for all his gusto, his CDs still don't sell and his life as a street musician continues.

Notable things from this chapter:

-They actually did something with Flip Sides
-Blaster will eventually become Twin Cast again since he shows up as Twin Cast in Metro Wars set in 2030's, then become Blaster again in G2 (as an Action Master)
-So... Blaster's around and knows of Metroplex's upgrade, which might mean he knew of it beforehand, and planned to upgrade him into that form eventually? Remember, Twin Cast is still City Commander of Metroplex in Metro Wars.

And now for Legends Weirdwolf:

Weirdwolf's transtector is completed, but as he's going on about destroying the Autobots and conquering the world, he's interrupted by the transtector licking him, revealing itself to be alive! Tarantulas explains that he's not alone, Skullcruncher's transtector being a living being as well, and asks Weirdwolf to remember to take his "Wolnosuke" out for walks. But walking a giant robot wolf is hard and it ends up running off, leaving Weirdwolf to put up "lost pet" posters around the city. He runs into Hardhead and Chromedome (still stuck in Batora), out drinking after work, and the two drunks end up accidentally throwing his posters in a river.

As Weirdwolf swears vengeance against the Autobots, his partner drone Rarigo arrives and beats them up for him, removing Chromedome from Batora in the process. The gorilla uses drawings to explain that Wolnosuke has been found, and Weirdwolf is happily reunited with the transtector, combining with it and telling it they'll never be apart again. With the transtector, Rarigo, and Batora at his disposal, he sets out to defeat the Autobots... but is still unable to control Wolnosuke, who immediately runs off again with him in tow.

Since this was posted, I'd like to point out that Weirdwolf is currently the only Headmaster in the new line that can seat 2 Headmasters inside his vehicle mode. His cockpit has enough space for 2 pilots, with one of htem being "eject able" via the opening chest compartment that's used to transforming him without breaking the white tabs.

Artfire had them for $400 MIB during TFcon. I don't know where you got the 2k and the KOs sell for about $100 per pop if you didn't get them back when they just came out.
