So, kind of a weird thing here. This is the Plum Pla-Act option kit frame. It goes together pretty roughly, which isn't shocking considering it appears to be the inner frame used on the rest of the Pla-Act line. I'm debating doing some hand painting on it though, just to spruce it up a bit (already did some on the face there).

To the guy asking about RGs from the last thread, speaking from building 6 of them including the GP01, they are my favorite line.

The only issue with waists i have had is with the GP01. That's only because of the transformation. Even considering that, it's a solid build.

Just finished my first HG and first build ever(well, I did build a RG-RX78-2 before).

It was surprisingly easy compared to the RG, I have no idea on why, the RG was an utter mess and hard as fuck, it wasn't fun and it kept falling a part whenever I tried to pose him.

That said, Barbatos is the extreme opposite of it, it's uber easy to pose, it was fun to build and super fast too (took me 3 hours maybe? I've done it in one sitting)

Any tips on what build to pick up next? I didn't do panel lining tho and would appreciate suggestions on how to do it properly or thing to make it look more awesome.

RG RX-78-2 was the first RG and it is a fragile mess, which the RG line has a tendency to be anyway. The HG and NG 1/100 IBO kits are very well engineered, and are super stable.

All in the guide. Also, RG's are AWFUL for first kits, the RX78 in particular (if you've never done models before). They have a lot of small pieces, and they are absolutely not meant for any playing, they're meant to find a pose and keep it.

The stickers for the z'gok E are pretty bad. This isn't even the worst I've seen though, there was a guy a few threads ago (here or on /m/ I can't recall) who had a MG Freedom Strike I think it was, that it appeared to have been ripped straight out of the runners with his bare hands.

Finally painted the weapons for my Architect.

I have to fix the hair at some point but for the first kit I did a nearly full repaint on, and handbrushing everything forever, I like her.

The big fists are too heavy for her to hold her arms up with them on, but the pile bunkers seem fine.

Ordered my 00 Raiser PG from Amazon. Coming via FedEx on Wednesday. Anyone played around with one yet able to speak to the quality of the joints? Are they able to support its the raiser on its back?

It can but you have to angle everything right. Going to have to lean forward a bit or move one leg / foot forward.

It's definitely doable just standing straight, but
a) the feet doesnt really like staying flush to the ground
b) the ankles can be a bit of a pain to position properly
c) the locking ratchet joints on the knee and thigh may prove to be useful in holding and keeping it from 'folding' but there's always the annoyance of the locks not being exactly where you want them to be.

If you really want the Raiser on its back, just get a bootleg OO Raiser stand from ebay or Aliexpress or something, much less headache and fear of it tumbling over.

Any recommendations for my first MG? Ive built many a RG and HG so I feel I can handle almost anything.

The worst I've done to an RG was fuck up a glue job on the arm of a EW Wing Gundam. Glue set while sliding the lower arm into its armor but didnt lower far enough. Bandai replaced the part I fucked up fortunately.

This is actually one of the few kits I own. It is pretty good, but the torso range killed it for me. From what I've seen though, that seems to be an issue with numerous builds.

Really by the sound of it they tried to make this convention too big too quickly and just don't have the manpower, experiance, and fanbase to set it up properly yet.

They should have started smaller. Make it a one day event centered primarily around the contest with some vendor tables and maybe a panel or two, and some trophy packages instead of a expensive grand prize trip you need to make a bunch of jacked up fees to cover. This is basically how my local IPMS group sets up our local convention.

That way its not too hefty of an initial investment, its easier to organize, gives you an idea of how many might show up in another year, and spreads word of the event to bring in more attendees.

You can then grow the event from there.

Newbie here, are there any acceptable brands not listed in the guide that do bright metallic colours suitable for handpainting? Acrylic preferably.
I know I could use spraypaint but I also want to use them to paint another toy that's small and I don't think can be disassembled. Vallejo does seem to do some but the cheapest I can get them is almost £8 a pop.
Specifically I need red, yellow and a mid green.

Is there a good way to remove nubs? I clipped as closely as possible and tried to file and cut them away, but I still feel like I'm terrible at this compared to a lot of gunpla I see on here. I have not painted or applied waterslides yet though, just basic snap togethers and stickers.

It's an early-period snapshit work, back when he knew he was shit. The lack of effort that is still evident in his more modern works is quite blatantly showcased here; as you can see, the nubs are untrimmed, and the pose is mediocre at best.
It's a true parody of most works posted on here, turning the idea of effort and precision on it's head and juxtaposing shit with gold. It's one of snapshit's cruder pieces, but it conveys the meaning of his later works in a more up-front and in-your-face way. A true hallmark of the history and art of this general.

Yea its a local shop that purchased out a hobbytown that was closing so some of their prices are high like $49 for the wing zero.

Other times though their prices are crazy low like $12.50 for Mr. Super Clear Matte. Plus they give you 5% cash back in store credit on all purchases so it evens out.

The 7 swords was meant as the original proposed upgrade for the 00 but after it developed its stalling out issue they switched focus to the 0 raiser instead to fix the problem.

After the events of the tv series and the drives being replaced by condensers on the 00 they revisited the 7 swords design and added the gun to it, which is the "/G" tacked onto the name.

This RG is just the 7 Swords, not the 7 Swords/G.

Should I swap out the beam rifle on my Mk II for a Zaku MG or other type of solid state projectile weapon? I feel like giving the suit a proper gun and a proper, non-beam melee weapon as well.
