Oh, I don't doubt some think they're broken, or that non-articulated might be better for kids. I think those are both good reasons for the change -although as a collector, I dislike it. I just wouldn't doubt they were also convenient excuses to be cheap.

Sadly it's hard to tell? The sales pages are very vague when it comes to franchises. Usually in short terms like (dolls) (mini toys) and so on. From what I can tell MH is still doing good at TRU's as we keep getting big shipments, implying they know it'll sell well.

So after all this concern for the MH brand, I went to my local toy store here in the UK and I went over to the Monster High section. It was gone. Replaced with those newish retarded looking Disney Princess dolls. I asked a nearby staff member and they said they had stopped stocking them for the moment due to low sales. There were no EAH dolls either, but they never stocked them anyway. EAH is almost non existant here. So things aren't looking good.

I went a few weeks ago and they had the cheap wave 1 'favourites' dolls, Welome to Monster High dolls, flying Draculaura, and some assorted older releases. And now nothing.

Something is up.

Saw the cheep no articulated MH and EAH at Walgreen's and that shit felt like an insult to kids and collectors alike. They had those cheep as dolls priced at nearly 15 dollars.

I bought Elle Dee on clearance, now i own Skelita Calaveras, and when i get a Robecca Steam i think i'll stop buying MH dolls...unless i can figure out how to Frankie Stein into Franken Steela

Well, Clawdeen doesn't have a werewolf tail in her human for so I don't see why Silvi would either. The gray one is Twyla and she's always had the gray hand because it's supposed to be sort of a birthmark/pigmentation thing to look like a shadow.

A new dollar store type thing just opened where I am and they had a couple those discontinued Bratzillaz dolls for like $3 each and so I thought fuck it and bought one.. and I'm actually really impressed.

She feels really good quality, outfit is nice, hair is nice and soft, her head is hard which feels much better than rubber ones and her inset eyes are gorgeous. Surprised to see she comes with quite a few accessories like a stand, brush and a light up broom/wand thing. Oh and twist her waist and she dances.. kinda funny.

So if you can find these dolls I would actually highly recommend them. And now I'm really sad that they failed. Going to see if I can find some more.

Honestly, use Bratz as an example. When they first came out they were everywhere. Vaguely in the same boat as MH, they also got complaints from parents but girls loved them. Then they hit a speed bump and it went downhill. I think over the last few years, Bratz has done quite a few reboots, the most recent one being last year. The current reboot of Bratz is actually nice but the momentum has gone down, I think. If the current MH reboot fails, Mattel has to take a hard look at where they went wrong and what to do at that point because IMO, they made way too many drastic changes and they cut corners. EAH is suffering from Disney Princess overload now and they didn't even need the reboot. The only good thing that came with the reboot is culling some of the characters but leaving them in the universe of MH. They had way too many signature/basic characters along with multiple introduced ones that clearly were never going to return.

It's because they're using Illustrator for the official box artwork. Illustraror is THE vector based art program and It's easy to draw, drag & drop new separate assets on to a base image. Like new clothes on a base drawing of Gooliope.

What's not easy is to do in a vector program is to do soft focused highlights & angles. Especially tricky lighting setups like floodlights shining bottom up from the left, as seen in >>5926766

When they reworked the the art for >>5926774 they ditched all that complex shading and gave her traditional hard-line shading. Most likely to go with the art style of the other Shriekwrecked box art.

Apparently, one of Moanica's powers is her ability to speak the common tongue/English. The zomboys can't. So for all we know, that's unique to her.

We probably won't see her again since they seem to be using Frankie as the intelligent one now. I'm disappointed in Moanica too, her antagonism in the first movie seems a little strong for just a high schooler. I'm pretty sure crashing the dance the way she did should've earned her an expellment, but unfortunately we aren't in Ms. Bloodgood's school anymore since MH is now ran by Count "I'll do anything for puppy dog eyes" Dracula.
