I got the collector Skelita the other day, she's pretty nice, but still doesn't seem like she's 'collector grade.' I love her dress, especially the lace at the bottom, but the limited colors on her shoes, headband, and hair clips is a downer. No accessories kinda sucks too.

Moanica has the worst wonk eye I've ever seen on a doll, literally cannot find her without one eye much larger and/or misplaced. I've heard that it's intentional to highlight her sassy look, but goddamn, 99% of her dolls look retarded as fuck. I had to search through cases to find the least wonky and they're still off kilter, I ended up having to choose one that had one eye placed lower than the socket, because at least the eye was printed the right size and not enlarged 20%.

Also Dana and SW Lagoona have problems with being misplaced, too large for socket, or smeared across the front of the box. Haven't got either of them yet, still searching for a half decent representative.

This problem was present in G1 but overall it feels like as time goes by, they care less and less about accurate paint jobs and just rush dolls out of the factory. Valentine was an SDCC release and he had wonk eye prevalent in almost all his dolls, that was like an early warning sign of the decline.

Anyone still looking for Astranova well she's on clearance at Walmart. My local Walmart had a shit ton of Astranovas almoat all of them the lavender colored one. Managed to find the dark violet one. Best bargan ever.

They were doing fine before the reboot but combined with losing Disney and competing with Disney, they decided to advance with G2. Barbie is essentially Mattel's bread and butter, that's always going to sell. I can't even tell you how many times I've seen kids go through the MH area where I work, pick up the new MH dolls, and then put them back down. If this keeps up, they probably will euthanize MH, try to keep DCSHG going because that's always going to be a market for them, and turn EAH into a pretty pretty princess line to compete with Disney. The moment they decided to go through with the reboot was when they put the final nail in MH's coffin.

Mattel just spent good money revamping all the 3D and 2D animation assets for MH. I don't think they'll pull the plug yet.

As a fan of both lines, I think MH is the one that will stick around longer. It isn't as huge success as it was, and G2 probably will never reach the hights of G1, but who knows what G3 will bring in 8-10 years. It seems quite unlikely that Mattel will fold the whole franchise, unless the dolls completely stop selling.
