Monthly Building Challenges:
>Summer's almost over - make a scene with your sigfig enjoying the last days of the season!
>Bonkle is dead. Build something that uses parts specifically meant for Bionicle.
>Make a police MOC. Be sure to include some ineffectual chasing with handcuffs.
>Brickheadz are stupid. Let's revive Cubedudes! Build a Cubedude to show their superiority over Brickheadz!
>The 2016 Paralympics are on in Rio. Create a MOC or scene showing that minifigs that are broken, damaged or missing parts can still be the best!
>Create a new tribe of mixels.
Is Vapowave/ware Lego a thing?
>>5903837
Prototype lines that never made it to market
>>5903837
Vaporwave and vaporware are two very different things.
So I've been building my Storm Trooper 501st Battalion for a bit...what do you guys think so far? I want at least 10 more troopers
>>5903878
I like how you don't have all the minifigs just lined up in rows on a baseplate.
>>5903883
Been meaning to get one, I think I'll get a gray base plate to mimic the floor of a Star Destroyer
>>5903890
I would be a bit more money, but making a nice tiled or bricks on their side floor might look nice for display.
>>5903899
Yea definitely, I plant to fill out my force first, then work on the display. I may build up a hallway for them to march down.
>>5903878
Where did that stormtrooper helmet on the right come from? Looks ugly like a floppy droopy moustache.
>>5903917
What do you mean "on the right" they all have that helm
>>5903924
No they don't. The 2 dudes on the left and the one red guy have regular helmets. The rest have the SWRebels version of the helmets. They have stupid long droopy mouth pieces.
>>5903928
Well Shit. I honestly never even noticed. oh well too late. Anyway /toy/ what sets do you guys recommend to bolster storm troopers? I've been buying these.
>>5903208
No different than the capes Lego makes.
>>5903387
This really is a great set. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I had the money.
>>5903314
Yeah, Technic could do with some fictional stuff. It's all just scale models of real world things. Thankfully, just about every regular set comes with Technic parts anyway for mechanical features, so you get a little of everything.
>>5903837
Bring on some vaporwave sets!
L E G O D R E A M S
>>5903959
I've always wanted to get a set from that line, just don't know what yet. Learning towards poolside paradise
>>5903807
DAMN IT, I was going to say the new thread should be MIMIC themed.....(btw, THANK YOU anon who posted his mimic build a thread or two ago!)
>>5903930
>>5903944
He doesnt realize that I can take a LOT of hulkbuster pictures. I already have quite a few, and theres THREE new chink brand HBs available that I dont own.....yet.
Can you say "FIVE WAY FUCK YOU"?
>>5903986
I see that somebody liked my mimic, friendo.
Lego Technic isn't the highest Lego building level.
Mixing System, Technic, CBBS and Duplo in one amazing MOC is.
pic related.
>>5903986
Randomly scrolling by, saw mimic. How do I make this mimic? Please?
>>5904037
No problem Owethreeseven, I gotcha. Take a treasure chest. Set that aside and count out 6 of the small horn/teeth parts. Steal them off your Viking's helmets. You also need 6 1x1 plates with the sideways clips. (black ideally[maybe white?]), 1 red 1x1 plate with the up and down clip(red plz), and 2 1x2 plates (red again) and 1 red horn/tooth. Now starting at the bottom build a stack to make the 'jaw'. Face side clip to the right, one to the left, back to the right. Then drop that 1x2, on top of it the red upways clip. and build the rest in reverse. 1x2 plate, side clip right, left, right. Drop those horns in and this step is done! Now shove it in the chest. Refer to the picture for anything I might have missed. Happy building.
>>5904072
>2 1x2 plates (red)
really? pic related is what I used to build mine and it worked (although I was missing one black 1x1 with sideways clips, so I temp subbed a 1x1 with round...thingy. Also a trans red 1x2 plate for now)
>>5904078
I literally looked at the picture posted above and described what I saw. I see that yours does only use one. I would hope that my slightly inaccurate building description isn't too detrimental to that poor guy.

jesus....
I've got a question for you, folks: do you keep your Lego boxes after they've been opened? And if so, how do you store them? I've kept almost every box over the past several years just in case I've needed to transport/sell any sets individually but they're beginning to take up too much space.
>>5904298
I have a huge box full of old Bonkle-canisters somewhere, but nowadays I just recycle the boxes. Takes too much room and realistically, if I ever sell any of these, I'm just not gonna bother.
I do save some of the bigger ones if I need to ever ship something big, my BL inventory lives in 4 old boxes and I have boxes for Benny's SSS and Ecto-1 somewhere because they're neat.
>>5904298
I usually keep some of the bigger sets' boxes, but lately I've been keeping all of the boxes as well.
I've heard from some people that they save a bit of space by flattening the boxes out, or by renting out a small public storage closet thing
went to store
>no Ezra's Speeder, which means no Sabine waifig for me
>no Lavaria
>felt up CMFs for cyborg
>ended up with (my third) Kickboxer, a Ice Queen, a Hitchhiker and two Wildlife Photographers
FUCK
Checking out a different store for sets on monday. Maybe I get lucky there.

That seems a bit excessive
>>5904586
Ah, my banshee didn't react as much as yours. Could just be my light (blacklight).
I'd try my Ninjago ghost tail, but I've not opened up that set yet.
And now for something completely manly
>>5904606
Is that middle thing a chainsaw. You should make the blade part silver. Other than that, 10/10 anon.
Super manly.

it's time for moc bitches
New and improved and ready to ram things. I call it 'The Rag and Bone Man'
I also added a few more spooky details.
Lastly, I'll leave you with a picture of the original Version 1 of the MOC - built over a year ago - which looks positively tame by comparison.
Hope you've enjoyed
>>5904637
Hope this is good enough for ya.
Not sure what happened to that last picture.

Heh, now that you mention it, I do too.

Not mine, but does that Faun hairpiece exist in other colors? Or is that 3rd-party or custom painted? I'd like to make a Tiefling.
>>5904606
Fuckin' NICE.
>>5904719
I'm certain that it's custom painted in the photo you've provided.
>>5904719
since the only faun hairpiece in existence is brown, this black one doesn't exist either legally

We’re really sorry, but your recent LEGO® order was cancelled because the discount code you used had already been redeemed against a previous purchase. We only allow one discount code per household and, as it had been used before, the order was automatically cancelled.
Fuck you LEGO, just fuck you
Just made this display. Do the stands look out of place? Wish TLG made clear technic rods.
>>5904764
Did you fuckin' think that Lego would let you have money off for every goddamn order? Then people would just buy in bulk while the code was available and sell them on the aftermarket.
>>5904694
woah, these are great. I've got two of those guys and have been wondering how to improve them, just going to rip this off completely.
>>5904772
>Do the stands look out of place?
not really
But if they bug you, there's these.

Quick heads up if anyone is interested:
Some Wal-Martsort are doing a LEGO demo today and giving out free poly bags.
Not sure if every one is doing so, but I'm at a booth giving them out. The demo should be done by 4ish if anyone wants to try for it.
>>5904811
>Do those ratchet joints in the shotgun come in brown?
Yes, both types do but the one with 1 finger on the end is a bit rare, though.
Made a tonk. It's a bit crude tho.

>>5904834
Looks very Space-era with the red and the tr. neon green lights. I like it
>>5904811
It's impossible to do the stripes without sacrificing the shape. So, you'll need to make custom stickers.
>>5904896
Cool, i like what you did with the nose spoiler tips and the wing.
Not exactly LEGO related, but I was browsing Amazon and

>>5904902

>>5904672
I like how you used that "horrible" big piece
>>5904834
Nice shape!
>>5904946
I assume you mean this monstrosity. Funnily enough the build started with me fiddling around with this piece, seeing if I could make a cockpit from it.
>tfw no tan sombrero
I can't believe Mixels is fucking dead
>>5905001
It's up to you, anon. You have to keep Mixels alive by building more. Their fate is in your hands.
Does this head work with the new moustache-piece or does the mouth go too far up?
>>5904966
Indeed! I like when people make stuff of bricks like those!
Can someone id this piece? I dug it out of an old-fashioned tub of Legos in my dad's attic and I'm wondering where I got it.
>>5904298
Dude just open them completely very carefully with a sharp knife to cut the glue and flatten them, then if you need to ship or sell them pop them back up and use a dab of glue
>pay attention to /lg/ and be bored
>barely anyone posting
>really busy and in stress
>suddenly constant /lg/ posts
WHY
>>5905037
Can't seem to find it on bricklink, is it actual Lego? Check the back of the tile.
>>5903878
It's coming along well. I'd recommend swapping out the dark red pieces on the AT-TE for dark bluish grey, as the Empire often removed,or covered up, any extraneous paint from their vehicles left over from the Republic; pic semi-related.
The Republic logo on walker's side is also technically inaccurate, but the differences between the Republic and Imperial crests are so insignificant, it doesn't matter.
>>5904606
Now make a Ranger!
>>5905018
Looks silly.
>>5905103
Damn.
Oh well, at least there's plenty of grinning faces so finding another one shouldn't be too hard.
Almost finished with this thing.
>>5905109
What's that thing with the Bionicle pieces it's carrying?
I really love the Black manta ship. The trans-red window piece and the big, round pieces really reminds me of early 90s LEGO like UFO and Aquazone.
I love it
>>5905120
This little tank thing.
>>5905145
Flip it 180 degrees and it'll look like one of those alien ships from Mars Mission.
>>5904261
>>5905001
I remember seeing mixels series 1 and admiring the new ball and socket pieces. After seeing the recent waves I regret not collecting them from the start.
I just finished watching The Freemaker Adventures
Holy fuck this was one of the best things Lego ever did. And I am not even a star wars fan.
Do you keep your CMF dupes or do you sell them?
>>5905274
Keep them. Swap heads or accessories to make them different.
>>5905274
Keep some and use for parts, give others away.
Might as well
Build a scene of wintery violence! Post a photo with email and timestamp, and in a couple days I'll pick a winner and mail them an Ice Queen.
The mimic from last thread was a thing of beauty, I almost have the parts for one.
>>5905274
If they have cool parts i'll use them for custom figs. If not i keep them for an eventual trade.
(the only time i did a trade in turned out to be this kid with his mega paranoid dad wich made me even more sperg as usual, pretty much all times i bought local secondhandmarket lego they were 30+ gay guys so somehow i went in expecting that)
>>5904772
I like the black visible stands.
With the way you set up the picture i thought you were one of the guys making a lego town and had those in as some sort of art feature.
In the city i live in we praise the film company and basically cover the city in stuff like giant dragons or trolls or statues (all just for LOTR/Hobbit btw, we have done alot more movies but they dont matter) and all these movie themed stuff when a movie they work on releases.
>we had a set of giant eagles flying and they looked just like how your pic is set up

>In the city i live in we praise the film company and basically cover the city in stuff like giant dragons or trolls or statues...

>go to store trying to buy Lego

>>5905390
All dem firehose nozzels. Noice.
>>5904072
That's surprisingly simple, thanks!
I have an excess of plain brown bodies and I want to make use of them. I can't figure out anything else to do with 'em so I figure I'll make waifus out of them, because I can't think of any critter designs that I'd like with them.
What are some good reddish brown or otherwise brown female minifig heads? What are some good minifig bra designs?
>>5905316
Eclipse Fighter is a decent little fighter. Plus you get Dengar too.
>>5905426
>What are some good reddish brown or otherwise brown female minifig heads?
In reddish brown you've got like 2 to choose from.
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?v=2&pg=1&catXrefLevel=0&colorPart=88&catType=P&catID=238
CitizenBrick also sells a custom printed one that doesn't look too bad.
>>5905472
>http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?v=2&pg=1&catXrefLevel=0&colorPart=88&catType=P&catID=238
Yeah, as Star Wars ships go it's not bad. At the very least it looks like they dud a better job recreating it than they did with the Starscavenger.
>>5905493
They'v only got it in flesh and yellow. Minifigs.me has brown female faces but the prints aren't up to snuff for me.
I'm certain there's another third party group that does custom brown female heads.
>>5905341
Thank you for the input about the stands. Maybe I will keep them the way they are.

I don't really feel like posting all 10 images I took of her here, so instead I'll just post a couple and drop a link to the album: https://flic.kr/s/aHskffVXSK
>No. My Wires did not get "thicker"...
>Go back to testing
Also I'm really disappointed. I wanted her eye to be trans-yellow like it's meant to be but because the piece doesn't relieve enough light inside her head it's really dark and looks butt fugly.
>>5905552
>They'v only got it in flesh and yellow.
I got confused, I was thinking of a head bought from brickforge, but those are only available in flesh tones.

Shit m8, me too. After looking it up on the archives, apparently /mlp/ of all boards knows it best.
Also updated Hollowback

>>5905906
Wait, there's still an archive? I though Desuarchive just died. I really need to get to downloading it all while it's still on Youtube, I don't know any torrents for it.
Actually, speaking of, there's a download collection for the Nexo Knights show, right?
>>5905911
Apparently there's a foolfuuka archive called arch.b4k.co that still has /mlp/ archived. Not as extensive as DesuArchive for obvious reasons, but compared to the most extensive /toy/ archive it's knowledge of AcceleRacers is massive. Something about both series sharing voice actors with almost identical roles or something.
Not sure about the Nexo Knights show. How good is it? Is it up to snuff compared to the actual sets we get?
>>5905917
From what I've seen of it it's alright.
>>5905937
Thanks anon!
>>5905917
Nexo is better than Chima (but that's easy to do). It's much more funnier than ninjago. Great references all over. Jestro and Book of Monsters have great chemistry and they are both adorable and evil.

>>5906042
Nope. But I do know what you're talking about. Pic related was the version that anon was trying to reverse engineer some time ago. As far as I know he didn't finish, unfortunately.
But there's no need to try and reverse engineer my sally. I never have any problems giving out my ldd files when people ask for them. http://www.mediafire.com/download/sp0i6tms26natnp/sallylanthropus.lxf
That version isn't *entirely* identical to the one I've got built. Just a few minor differences and her thigh is a bit exploded too.
Speaking of metal gears and all these LXF files for amazing build's I recently came across the file for this beast but it is from such an old version of LDD I am scared to order the parts for it.
>>5906057
When trying to order parts, look over the auto-generated wishlist first. You may see listings for parts not filled in with a photo; these are usually bricks that have been accepted by Bricklink but which do not exist in the specified colors; edit or replace them accordingly.
>>5906000
No problemo
>>5906045
Fabuland Car chassis is great piece. And you did great job - the engine looks very nice!
But now you need a vampire to drive it.
>>5905843
>can't upload that on BL
Fucking hell
>>5906099
Check the build in LDD carefully to find any of the parts, if you can, intoduced in the past LDD update. These are currently incompatible with Bricklink's converter program.
>>5903937
Next years Battlepacks will have two clean Life Action Stormies (the one on the left >>5903928 ) and one or two Death Troopers.

So does anyone have pic related. I was thinking about picking it up. Have the opportunity to get it at $55 with figs, which is fine bc i already have the main cast and don't much care for the others. As a ship how is it?

Yeah, I heard of it. Andrew was the hero and Kathleen was the queen of the villains in S2 as it seems. Also Drummond and Tezla's voice actor (forgot his name) voiced some minor heroes. Shit, I might need to watch those episodes.
Tork
>>5906446

>>5906457
oh shit m8 I was thinking of Reverb. I got the pieces, even for Vert's spiky hair. It'll be my only hair of that piece in the blonde color though, so I can only make one variant of Vert.

Can we get some instructions? I would genuinely make my first brick link order to buy the bricks for this.

He posted the .lxf already anon.
What do you guys use as transparent stands for large space ships to have them in a hovering position?
Ships the size of a Resistance Troop Transporter f.e.

I forget posting from a phone is stupid.
Anyway. I got mr incredible for parts for lavaria.

I'm thinks about going back to her bat wings. And still trying to figure a good weapon for her.

Amazing Mine sucks by comparison !
>>5906686
I'd recommend switching out that middle piece in the legs for one that's solid black, it's a good combo but the yellow stripe just looks kinda out of place imo.

Perhaps next weekend, I don't have access to my lego during weekdays because of work. Should've recorded something to make a .gif out of but today was pretty busy. Here's a groupshot with the other warmachines though!

You might also look through trans-clear in the color guide, there's some big bricks and cylinders available.
>>5906691
not him, but I usually favor the right scale over making things bigger to have more details. I don't remember the size it should be but yours doesn't look bad.
So, lego gen. Is there any lego piece that's typically useless or horrible or what-have-you, but you love regardless?
For me, it's these little fuckers.
>>5905727
Nice book collection, I'm a WoT fan too. Legos are awesome also.
>>5906830
I'm not sure I like the way you referred to the best not-minifigs just before you said you love them.
As for parts, basically anything cooking related. They look nice, but they can't be used for much other than decoration.
>>5906686
>I'm thinks about going back to her bat wings.
>>5906729
>So bat wings or black feather wings?
>>5906735
I've been up in the air about this myself, since I got that same Harpy armor set for Lavaria...
I went and got the Demon Armor set from series one as well, but those wings and tail are GREEN...
The sword from that set is pretty brutal looking though.

Thanks, anon!
The connection isn't the strongest - the whole top half is connected to the body by the inside stud on the two 1x2 modified plates, and the 1x1 rounds with holes and bars through them. The windshield has two upside-down 1x1 clips on the outside corners connecting it to the modified plates, so everything else just loosely rests in place, and if it gets bumped too hard, I have to pop it apart and reset it.
However, the roof and back easily pops off in one piece.
I can't show the real driver, so please accept this Spirit of 1930s Vengeance instead
I wanted to give him a flame feather on his fedora, but then I realized that the only wide-brim hat I have with a pin hole is the floppy farmer hat.

>>5906691
It's really not fair to compare yours and mine. They're at two completely different size scales and piece counts. They're both good in their own right. And like the other anon said, yours is by no means bad just because it's smaller.
>>5906870
I'm not even into Pokémon, but these look dope.
So I got this guy because I couldn't wait for the Power Rangers ones that are supposedly coming out for the new movie.

Fuck my life. Fuck it right in the eye.
Welp, guess I'll just have to be content with Iron Man, then. Maybe Spider-Man. They can hang out with Batman, the First Doctor, Bowser, a couple of Daleks and a few Power Rangers Samurai.
Damn Megabloks for switching Rangers to that action-figure style instead of minifig style.

>>5906955
I'm a big fan of the Spider-Family. As far as my Lego is concerned, all the different versions of Spidey are different characters. So you've got Spidey and Iron Spidey and Miles Spidey all fighting Carnage and Venom and Sandman.
I really need to get the Super Awesome Bridge Battle set for Scarlet Spider and Spider-Woman...

>>5906987
See, I'd like to be able to do that, but I just can't afford to buy the big sets just for character minifigs.
I only got the little Iron Man one for myself as a special treat (working a full 40 hour week without getting sick).
I really like Spider-Mans, but I'm not quite into them enough to want all of them. Just one Spidey will be enough for me. I really like having the eclectic lineup (like Batman hanging out with Red Ranger).
>>5906994
Only one of those big sets I bought at full price was Sandman. All the rest, I waited until clearance.
I feel you, though, I just lost my job, and can't buy anything until I find a new one. Sucks.
>>5906890
>It's Ghost Taxi Driver! Looks great. What are those triangular bits on top?
These pieces. I tried to look them up on BL but I can't find them or else I'd give you the number.

Duplo Lion Adult Female Duplo, Animal : bigcat01c01pb01
>A lion is a type of animal. They have currently only been released in a DUPLO form.
>Unlike regular LEGO minifigure animals, DUPLO animal figures are designed to be big enough as to not pose a chocking hazard to small children, much like the rest or the pieces in the DUPLO line. DUPLO animal figures usually consist of only one piece.
The DUPLO lioness is too big and the LEGO Friends lion cub is too small and cutesy. Another options is brickbuilt like the bear from Creator 31052 or the Lion Legend Beast from Chima.
I'd wish Lego would release separate CMF plates.

Does anybody here have a bear? Could you post a pic of how a minifig looks sitting on them?
A lot of these posters have cool characters, like pic related. Would be nice to give them some backstory or build a vignette with minifigs of them.

I was thinking more of pots, pans and cutlery. They just lack attachment points and tend to be awkward sizes to fit in with other elements. One of my favorite catapults uses a pot. Still, other pieces could have been used.
