TRIGGER WARNING: Plastic shit in inhuman amounts.

Hows the hunt going? How many Skywarps, Motormasters, or Combaticons are hogging the aisles?

Also what's the oldest toy you ever found in store? I found a first wave Movie 1 Jazz in a Walmart in 2011 looking for Generations. Would have gotten it too if they didn't want full 2007 price for the damn thing.

Thrilling 30 stuff on shelves this year.

Also props to whichever Anon(s) recommended the silver sharpies for a little bit of detailing. The shit totally matches the silver on Sentinel that they only put on one set of wheels, and it looked so good I did it on Astrotrain too, who completely lacks any paint on his wheels normally.
>>
>>5890230
I don't know if it's just me, but does anyone else's Sentinel have problems with the flip down train wheels? One side of them are a bit splayed out, is there a good way to fix this?
>>

I don't even think Bayformers 4 had that much space.

And most of the merchandise for that movie was babby-tier quickchanger shit.
>>

I have it happen on both Sent and Astro. It's probably because it's thin-ish plastic,

I won him in a cheap ebay auction, and in spite of myself I'm actually enjoying CW Wheeljack. I definitely think he's my favorite version of this mold. His backpack is still huge and I still hate his hips, but I still kind of dig it. If only they had painted his chest windows.
>>
>>5890265
I like the Combiner Wars one, but the correct answer is probably the one on the right, which I'm assuming is the Takara version of the Generations mold.
>>
>>5890270
I like him more than the RTS one, he cheats on his transformation, but after a few mods he looks like the animation model.

There is a lot of speculation that the blockbuster bubble will burst next year, there is an insane number of big hollywood movies coming out around at the same time, they're literally isn't enough consumers to share. And I'm only doing sharpie stuff on things that won't really be touched. Wheels, mainly. Still, the Anon's who thought of this are pretty smart. Look how good this looks, took a whole 5min per figure to do, and I'm sure any touchup will be easy enough if it wears off due to misplaced fingers.

This just in:

The TR Weirdwolf is easily the heaviest most plastic filled non-hollow well made and well engineered deluxes to come out in literally YEARS. The only shit thing is he has no wrist articulation, other than that he is fanfuckingtastic. Mindwipe is also really good, save for the rubber bits which may or may not shit out (hopefully not, they aren't on tight joints at all).

Chromedome is.... well let's just say I'm glad I only paid $14.97 for him... He leaves a lot to be desired.

Highbrow is pretty average for a toy.

>>
>>5890751
my problem with chrome dome is how light he feels in comparison to the rest of them. also all the red plastic on him feels.... off in some way. Idk what it is, but it feels weird compared to the other colored plastics. His arms are also very unsightly compared to other deluxe figures in the line.
>>
I'd also like to ask, why does Blaster have a belly button?
>>
>>5890785

He doesn't really have much red plastic on him. Most of it is paint. Light though, I dunno, he feels about the same as the rest to me?

Shit, the only transformer I even own that I consider heavy is a 3P combiner, he's gotta be at least 2-5 pounds...
>>

>>
>>5890207
Don't get me started on Motormaster Op, I literally saw more of him in stores than the rest of the CW line combined.

The oldest toy was, for transformers, Optimal Optimus on clearance in a Zellers sometime during the unicron trilogy and it was still around $40-$50.
>>
>>5890841
they all look like a mess save for the bug mode. That's actually pretty cool.
>>
>>5890840

>>
>>5890859
No it hasn't. Don't turn this into a semantics war
>>
>>5890207
For a Transformer, it had to be some RID figures that made it up until the Energon toys. I think it was the giant head Megatron.

Oldest toy's I've seen in a store, period? Second place goes to MSIA Gundams that suddenly showed up in a Walgreens in 2008, the oldest was an Attack of the Clones Mace Windu that showed up out of nowhere in the same Walgreens and it happened just last year.
>>
>>5890207
>Also what's the oldest toy you ever found in store?
Not sure about Transformers, but i saw some of those 90s neon colored nerf guns at my local wal-mart when it was closing down around 07.
>>
>>5890207
There was a Transmetal Scavenger that on the shelves at my local Myer for years that disappeared late 2001 and then that year I opened a christmas present from my mum and there was it was with some other then current TFs. Not a bad figure honestly, poor thing didn't deserve to shelf warm that long.
>>
Sometime in the mid 90's, an old dept store was closing in my area. No one ever went there, and they had a reputation of being overpriced anyway, but we took a stop in.

Saw some 80's TF's sitting on the shelves. The orange construction truck guy, the red firetruck, and I think some Insecticons were there.

Didn't buy'em though. Had no money and was still a young kid back then.

Waifu is a romanization of the japanese pronounciation of the word "wife". It's essentially got the same meaning as the word "wife". If you think a romantic relationship is based off of "cuteness" and does not involve any sex at all your delusional at best and outright retarded at worst

Yeah, it's original intent was 'wife material ', but have you took even a single second to think about it now? Out of everything people has called their waifu, do you truly believe anyone honestly meant anything more than cute? Truly? Because if you do, you are beyond reason.
Unless some how I'm the crazy one, and the people that called men, weapons, food and such their waifus alsomeant they truly wanted to make them all their wives and fuck them.
But seeing that you made sure to snidely comment about minor spelling mistakes, because mobile isn't a thing, somehow, chances are you are just trying your damnedest to insult anyone you can, for whatever reason, regardless if you have to sound like an idiot to do so

I think you just don't know what humor or irony is. That's it really. Then again most autistic people do have issues with that kinda thing so that's not too big a surprise.

Anyone else have issues with Sentinel/Astrotrain's wing ports? I tried to insert Sentinel's smaller gun's top peg into the hole under the wing and it put a crack all the way down it. Maybe I've just been having bad luck lately, Taskmaster and now Sentinel breaking the day I get them.
>>
>>5891037

Damn Anon, that sounds like bad luck. My Sentinel's ports are fine far as I know, though the middle top wing ports on Astrotrain are kind of loose, which matches up with a review on Astro I saw so that might be a QC issue for that version of the mold.

not him but swirly metallic plastic has a distinct cheapness to it, a reminder what you bought is a toy.

Flat colored plastic or gloss injected tends to be more appealing to collectors.

As for the actual cost specifics no idea, though they would use glitter/metallic injected plastic because its cheaper than actual paint, can't get good metallic looks without the swirls it seems, even bandai knows this

I just had the best idea for how to pull of TR Metroplex and Trypticon. The both come with a Titanmaster that can be used on other figures, but they also come with a unique version of that vehicle1/vehicle2/gun thing you get with the smaller titan master sets, this thing turns into a small vehicle for use in Building mode, a gun emplacement in ship mode and part of the head in robot mode.

It's a slight step down from TR Fort Max, but then again Metro and Trypticon are probably both smaller than Fort Max

>>
>>5891249
I think the tricky part of TR Metroplex is gonna be his face. TR Trypticon would be simpler in the face department mainly because his Titanmaster would become the lower jaw of his head in Dino mode and you're probably only going to use the face if you want him as the head of somecon who isn't Trypticon.

>>5891291
Because it's rubbery for no good reason. Rubbery plastic is prone to dry rotting and crumbling Just look at rubber tires from 80's toys or even Car Robots.
>>
>>5891291
That kind of plastic is known for drying up and cracking after a while.
The use of it on Skullsmasher isn't too bad, but Mindwipe is a disaster.
>>
>>5891301
>Because it's rubbery for no good reason
Safety for kids, those bits could break easily, rubber doesn't crumb that easy, it depends a lot on the weather you live, I live in a semidesertic area and my G1 Metroplex and cars all have their original wheels complete with no extra care.
>>
>>5891301
My old Fire Convoy had 1 split tire that I fixed with super glue and it's had to withstand 15 years of desert summer heat. If anything, it's the plastic that's more easily affected than the rubber, I've had to sand down joints because the plastic expanded over time and they couldn't move like they used to.
>>
>>5891310
The only rubber I've had break down is BH Shockwave's left tread, I think that's because it has several heavy 90+ degree bends and also gets pulled tightly in vehicle mode. My Ripclaw doesn't have any damage at all even though I keep the tail in it's wound up position all the time.
>>
>>5891313
Yeah rubber treads typically have much shorter life spans than rubber wheels or rubber detailing because of how often they're twisted around and such.

Ripclaw's tail is probably fine because it's just kept more or less in one position all the time. If it were loosened and pulled on and twisted around constantly it'd be much worse off I imagine.

It may now be my favorite form of his, but I'm still really hoping for MP Beast Megatron. He'd be just around the size of larger G1 MPs like Soundwave and Starscream, relative to Primal's scale, and having a big purple T.Rex toy would be cool.

>>
>>5891447

Making him is a mistake because seriously, does anyone like the guy?

Especially over Megatron, Black Arachnia, Tarantulas, Rattrap, etc?

Are they just putting him out to get him out of the way early? He feels like such a waste of an MP slot.

Even if Primal was a one-off, I'd still want more MP BW figures. Cheetor feels like he sideswipe of releases; where he's basically only made because he has a cool design. I kinda see it as the quintessential BW design; a reworking of a classic mecha motif(beast head chest) but don differently. Its like he's Gaigar's cousin.

And of course Dinobot is the one a lot of people are wondering how it could be done decently.

Cheetor seems more important to HasTak than the fans. They kept giving him new toys and made him the headliner on BM. meanwhile, the BW writers seemed to hate him and basically had him do nothing for 26 episodes from the middle of S1 until the middle of S3. Hasbro gave his Transmetal form a "heart" that was going to glow on the show whenever he did good deeds, but the writers ignored this. Dinobot got better episodes and his toy was discontinued when season 2 was out.

but still, his design has a lot of redeco/remold potential, and that probably means a lot to Takara over popularity. That's why we got Sideswipe before Jazz.
>>
>>5891452
Put out the less interesting toys first because people aren't sure what's coming out later. With my limited budget, I would definitely pick Megatron or other good characters over Cheetor, skipping the ones I don't like.
>>

He sure looks better if you get his colors right.

a good looking dinobot wouldn't be too hard considering robot bits are allowed to show in their beast forms and they're going for show accurate beast forms as well (Dinobot was a pretty humanoid raptor). They'd just have to work some serious magic to keep him from having a backpack

I really want Highbrow, how is he? I've only got Hardhead and I love him. I think I want Chromedome, but I'm not entirely sold. Which is your favorite out of that squad?

I have to admit that the limitations of the retail Generations line is much more conducive to replicating the post-'86 characters than they are the 84 bots. These just look and feel great. Although I have to wonder if it's just all the compromise and retooling of Combiner Wars that makes these look good. It's been a long time since we've had a deluxe figure with the MO of simply being a good, stand-alone figure.
>>

He's pretty good
I think people are rightfully unhappy about the flat chest but it it's only bad if you look him straight from the side.

Just as literally everyone else says though he just looks great and poses well

My only honest to god complaint about the figure personally are the holes in his hands and the screws on his forearms. The screws could have been hidden better or at least painted and the hands just comes off as looking cheap relative to the quality of the rest of the figure. Even though there's a lot going on in his wrist parts but I don't think it would have been impossible if the swivel were constructed the other way around: where the disc would be on the hands which would then be closed down on by the wrist parts if you get what I mean. But I'll admit that that's a pretty nitpicky complaint.

He's just good. If you're hesitant I'd take the plunge anyway.

First of all my table isn't that dirty, that is the shitty walmart table being shitty and starting to decay on the spots where I used to put drinks on while playing mmos. I don't keep a lot of stuff on my small ass 36 inch wide table. I don't even have space to put a small figure on my desk. I'm a minimalist on what I put on my computer desk so its only the essentials.

I don't really have a display for my Transformers so I usually just put them back in their packaging and shove them in my closet or my basement shelve after a few weeks of playing/posing them on a smaller table behind me. I originally collected Sentai mechs so those are still mostly prominently displayed on my small display space in my room.

A buddy is giving me a proper display shelves soon though so I would be able to pull out the important Transformers I want so I would be able to pose and shelve them on rotation.

There's an issue where the crew go to a planet where mechanoids aren't welcome, because Megatron exterminated billions of organics. So the crew use holomatter avatars to go and sight-see, the same avatars the Decepticons used in the first Bay movie to make it look like they had drivers. One of the crew made it so that the holomatter avatars would automatically translate a Transformer's personality into a human form. Sometimes the avatar is not the same gender as the Transformer. For example, here is Cyclonus and his holomatter avatar.

Theres not a single TR Deluxe I wouldn't recommend other than Hasbro Blur/Scourge, and only because the Takara versions blow them out of the water in terms of colors.

So yeah Mindwipe by himself is totally worth it. His bat mode definitely isn't garbage either, you can have a lot of flexability with the wings due to the hinges and the fact they've got up/down and side motions due to having the leg articulation to mess with as well.

is there any way to fix the neck joints on TR Scourge or Highbrow?
>>
>>5892130

The cause of the problem is nothing blocks the tiny TM head from tilting forward/back. So if you just put something small in front and behind the open TM connector, it should solve it.

>>5892130
Turning the titan master's head around doesn't fix it? It's worked for every other one I've seen...

Nope. Some heads are tighter than others, but it doesn't have anything in front of back to stop the head from moving. All the others have their head joint flush; Scourge's mold has the neck joint raised.
