Comics, Games, Memes, and not a toy to be seen. Talk about the strangest releases you can.
Look at this Springer. Who said this was okay? Would you be mad if I said it was okay?
Old Thread >>5890207
So, is everyone enjoying Titan Wars?
Made some changes to Chromedome to match his comic appearance more.
>>5892243
I bought him because I like him and he was on sale to justify my reasoning to purchase an old mold.
We can like what we like and don't like what we like, we're all entitled to opinions, for example I like mp-05 because its the only official mp megatron, mind you he'll be turned to scrap if an official one comes.
>>5892247
Great, just wish the titan master pegs and ports (as in for the titan master mode not for the head mode) were consistent, some figures are too tight for the same peg (my squeeze play now has a stress fracture on his legs, now he has/is cancer) while others are too loose and fall off on the same peg.
And the takara wins again meme doesn't work on them as even the takara figures have differing peg holes, I just want my voyagers and up littered in mini men, is that too much to ask for?
>>5892255
What'd you do other than the visor?
>>5892255
Did you also make him a faggot?
>>5892273
His head is made of an alien guy that spends all his time thinking about fashion and being beautiful. No changes are needed.
>>5892272
Painted the clear wheels black, gold rims. Painted the legs brown with red detailing and stripped the paint on the feet. Also cut off one of the side pegs for the gun cause he only needs to hold it one way.
>>5892273
That comes stock.
>>5892243
>Talk about the strangest releases you can.
You know, I grew up with it so Beast Wars is my "default" for Transformers, but how do you guys who missed out on it see it? I imagine it must seem totally weird, especially if you came into the franchise after it, since the aesthetics are so different from other Transformers series. A lot of franchises went through some really different incarnations in the 90's.
Laser nipples!
>>5892285
>That comes stock
As far as I remember, Chromedome wasn't a faggot in the cartoon.
Pierce the heavens with your drill!
>>5892323
I'm pretty sure you can't prove it either way.
>>5892325
Gay people didn't exist in cartoons back then in the US.
>>5892329
>Tumblr didn't exist in cartoons back then in the US.
ftfy
>>5892329
>robots
>gay people
You're really bad at this.
>>5892324
His altmode looks cool even without the drill. Looks like some sorta exploration vehicle.
>>5892332
Forgot pic.
>>5892352
It is, as far as HasTak is concerned, since they're both aiming at the G1 look, not the tumblrfaggotry comic look.
>>5892352
Though I'm with you, the toy IS pretty much a G1 representation aside from the head. Shadowplay Chromedome was a pretty standard for a Chromedome design, close enough to the G1 character model. So Hasbro head can lean one way, and Takara head can lean the other. I'm getting both for these reasons.
>>5892329
You are forgetting that guy raul who hung out with g1 tracks. And also g1 tracks.
>>5892323
That cartoon also happened to be terrible.
>>5892285
>>5892380
>>5892376
But it's still better than the comic, and boy did the cartoon sucked
>>5892384
>>5892407
>>5892409
>>5892384
DOME?
>>5892385
That's objectively wrong and you know it.
So... how many of you hope they release a Megahead Megatron, so that you can have a Titan Master that looks like Megatron, turns into Megatron's head, then becomes a giant Megatron head that combines with FM?
>>5892431
>>5892451
>>5892443
"objectively" isn't a magic word that makes you right.
>>5892453
>>5892455
>>5892454
But it still doesn't change the fact that the comics aren't actually anywhere as bad as you're trying to make them out to be and you're most likely just bitter about the gay robots.
>>5892458
>>5892461
Are they even gay if they don't have sexes and barely even have genders? I mean, the "female" acting bots from Carina haven't been around for millennia.
>>5892468
>Are they even gay if they don't have sexes and barely even have genders?
Nope. Sexuality isn't even a thing in a society of aliens that completely lack genitalia.
Save for Beast Wars.
>>5892474
I don't want to go into this but there's still certainly room for genders and gender roles. Sexualities, unless specifically stated, do not tend to exist, though feminine forms and perhaps personalities do.
>>5892458
I don't why his Blurr thighs bother me so much. I'd prefer if he just kept his Streetwise parts.
>>5892476
Not even regarding the robots anymore, but aren't traditional gender roles usually dictated by your sex? I always imagined rather than gender roles it'd be more a matter of your alt mode and that would determine what society expects of you. Ironically that kind of falls in line with IDWs "functionism".
>>5892255
Look for some Constructbots wheels in thrift stores, they're on 5mm posts and should fit nicely onto his shoulders.
>>5892486
Can you swap the parts?
>>5892486
It's not a CW mold, just uses similar engineering.
>>5892476
It falls under "It just works", like most Transformers things. Just go with whatever interpretation you want.
I got Titans Return Galvatron yesterday, and it's painfully obvious that he had Titans Return forced on him. The chest cavity is more than big enough for his entire head while the jet cockpit just hangs off both G1 modes as kibble. This coupled with the somewhat incoherent rest of the jet mode, it seems like somebody decided that Galvy needed to be a triplechanger, fiddled around with the prototype before coming up with something that could feesibly work 'if we stick a cockpit in here'.
Pity because if he had a real head and no jet kibble he would be an amazing G1 Galvatron. As it is he's good, but he makes too many sacrifices to match the line's gimmicks.
>>5892604
Am I the only one who doesn't hate the cockpit? Yeah the original jet mode is garbage but you can do cool shit with it. It looks fine on the regular cannon mode (I hate the default cannon mode) and there was the cool Cowboy Bebop Swordfish mode from a few weeks back.
>>5892604
>if he had a real head
He does though...?
>and no jet kibble
I don't see why people are complaining so much about the cockpit but not the arm treads that actually restrict articulation, rather than a minor thing that can easily be moved out of the way.
You don't like the stock jet mode? Make a new one. Don't like the headmaster gimmick? Do the mod. Now stop whining
>>5892604
Alpha Trion's worse. The battleship mode, and a few other cosmetic changes were forced on him when he was planned for CW as a lion transformer.
>>5892621
I don't see how the treads restrict anything. If anything the cannon does, but you either love or hate that
>>5892623
>I don't see how the treads restrict anything
It restricts his outward arm swivel. And yes, the cannon is annoying, but there are Shapeways fixes for that. There is no fix for the annoying tread placement but apparently it's ok because it's geewun
So I stopped by Walmart and they had the new Deluxes, so I picked them all up.
Mindwipe is definitely the star of the wave
Chromedome is solid though I wish his canopy was better
Wolfwire is basically what you'd expect from a wolf to robot where he stands up to transform
Highbrow is really disappointing to me, his articulation isn't very good, his propellers are annoying, his transformation sucks
>>5892311
Having first seen RID2001, I thought that Beast Wars was weird and went through the whole "TRUKK NOT MUNKY" and "muh faceplate" phase. After going through the Ultimate Guide and sone Youtube clips however, I came to appreciate the characters and story of BW and thus the toys. Wish I had some.
>>5892639
>his propellers are annoying
Why they're pinned but don't fold up like the original toy mystifies me.
Still, he ain't a bad figure at all. I don't see how his articulation isn't very good, all he's missing is a waist swivel.
>>5892622
I like the Alpha Trion but he has a lot of problems, in Robot mode he makes a good shelf decoration but he wouldn't be good for kids to play with, his Lion articulation is garbage and the shipmode is terrible looking. Skullsmasher feels the same, he is way too flimsy in gator mode.
>>5892604
My biggest complain is that he's not leader class, I want him to scale with my combiner wars Starscream, it seems really weird to me that they would make him look so close to gen 1 galvatron but not scale him to the other figures as such.
>>5892648
Yeah waist rotation is a big one, also his shoulders are sucky, the hip ratchets on mine are very stiff and the clicks are far apart and he has no ankle tilt so his stances are awkward, again those damn propellers getting in the way of moving his arms around, and his headmaster port is higher up so the heads are kinda loose. Oh, also his guns have little tires on them like they're supposed to touch the ground when attached to helicopter mode but there's no way to orient them that way
And what's that chest opening for?
>>5892639
I-I'm sure my Walmart/Target will get them soon too...
>>5892639
Out of all TR figures I have the weakest has to be Highbrow by far. Even Galvatron is better because of his fanmode versatility and better articulation.
>>5892319
Posting this for those who wondered what the hell was happening in this comic (no idea if it's correct).
>>5892693
>>5892693
Whoa there calm down with the fanmodes.
>>5892694
>>5892696
Hope you bought a spare Skullcruncher. I wonder how many pages they're going to post?
http://www.hasbro.com/common/documents/dad2d6781c4311ddbd0b0800200c9a66/27A13CBB50569047F5760E4049DEC72E.pdf
Has everyone seen this storybook with all the TR guys and their stats in it? I can't figure out who the 'con called "Rot Gut" is. He's got my favorite power though.
And I like that Ape-Face has Mass Changing powers, which accounts for his small size. I hope we get a Voyager sized one, though.
>>5892703
Rot Gut is Terribull
>>5892705
Ahhhh okay, cool.
I always thiought the Titan Masters looked cool but I've only been able to find Apeface and the Wave 1 deluxes so far. It seems like no stores are getting anything else.
>>5892693
>no idea if it's correct
seeing as how it's left to right, I think not.
>>5892703
>I can't figure out who the 'con called "Rot Gut" is
It's Terri-Bull.
>>5892698
Turns out the last page was posted, no idea what the hell is going on since it's not translated.
So If we get TR Wreck-Gar, alongside his Bike mode, what other alt mode should he have? A Garbage Truck?
>>5892713
Forgot the page...
Are there better options for the less known Decepticon cassettebots (Slugfest, Overkill, Squawtalk, Beastbox) other than their G1 toys?
I kind of want to complete fully the Soundwave team. I'm open to 3rd parties too
>>5892715
Looks like Nightbeat's head on Mindwipe's body. I wonder who it's supposed to be.
>>5892714
Didn't we just get a combiner wars Wreck-gar though?
>>5892693
Man, I used to display HFTD Terradive and Hailstorm as Generations Straxus' henchmen. It's amazing they had the same idea

>>5892444

>>5892683
I know that feel, anon.
>>5892727
How does that matter?
>>5892667
>And what's that chest opening for?
G1 Accuracy, it's supposed to mimic the angled part of the chest panel on the original toy.
>>5892763
As long as there continue to be good/interesting Megatron (Optimus too, TFs in general really) figures to collect, I see no reason to not add them to my collection. Unless I run out of space/money, of course.
>>5892791
Or die, but maybe I can be a ghost collector.
>>5892444
Yes. I am fine with this.
>>5892791
I wonder if the Japanese exclusive lines will go full-milking and make a Reverse Convoy out of Hardhead.
>>5892800
Could work.
>>5892698
What exactly is Megaligator doing in the bottom panels?
>>5892725
Onyx Primal?
>>5892727
We are getting two Brawns in TR, and just got T30 Blitzwing.
We are not in a position to discount somebody for getting a figure recently anymore.
>>5892811
>just got T30 Blitzwing
That was 3 years ago anon
>>5892795
>ghost collector
I worked for one of them. Put them into paintings. Crazy little man.
>>5892703
>fracas can steal powers
I call hax
>>5892825
And Sovereign gives infinity stats
Moustache headmasters are pretty overpowered
Oooo hand-drawn art.
>>5892825
In my headcanon his power is power replication, where's he's able to copy any power he wants. It's considerably less overpowered. Works a lot better IMO
>>5892703
>Apeface gives power to mass shift
>Not Astrotrain's partner
Well that's weird.
>>5892825
It should have been the power to create temporary clones.
>>5892834
If Apeface can do that, why doesn't he make himself a proper-sized body?
>>5892807
Looks like he turns on Convobat to ally with the other guy
>>5892835
Maybe he prefers being tiny with his little monkey plane.
>>5892763
Megabolt Megatron is from Beaat Machines, anon. And he could be from the RID2001 verse too if you like that.
>>5892830
I can't wait until my Hobbylink order arrives. Fucking SAL, man.
>>5892831
That's still sort of OP, since he can just get any power. If he could just temporarily nullify powers it'd be a little better. Srill, Fracas is strong as shit, especially for an army builder.
I like this Superpower gimmick the Titan Masters have.
>>5892834
Astrotrain Mass Shifting would be cool. His power is being undetectable by radar, which is kinda lame since Grax gives invisibility. And Hardhead is Wolverine.
>>5892829
I think Sovereign is supposed to be powered by Primus. He is literally the Godhead.
>>5892843
>His power is being undetectable by radar, which is kinda lame since Grax gives invisibility.
It seems like Grax would still make his wearer visible to radar, if it's only invisibility.
>you will never be able to recreate scene
>>5892843
There are some other elements of my version of Fracas, such as him having limitations on how powerful his duplications are, and he can't copy several of the more powerful abilities like Galvatron's and any headmaster who's description starts with "super"
And really I ignore the existence of the Sweeps. Army building a headmaster character is retarded to say the least.
>>5892850
>those different shades of purple
I guess I kinda understand now why Takara decided to use that weird lilac on their TR Galvatron.
>>5892853
>Army building a headmaster character is retarded to say the least.
Why is that retarded? It's the same as army-building a mobile suit. There can be different pilots inside the Titan Master armor, but the uniforms are standard and so are the robot bodies.
>>5892256
If the peg is too tight, put the mini head/neck the OTHER WAY AROUND (facing forward). This stops stress with figures like Hardhead, Mindwipe and Sentinel Prime
>>5892853
I have a Scourge and 3 sweeps. Generations Scourge is Scourge, Titanium and G1 are Sweeps while Titans Return is this girl with her own Sweep partner, like when Daniel was in Arcee's head.
Since Generations is the only one with a different Alt. Mode he stands out too much to be a Sweep.
>>5892863
>army building a mobile suit
I don't subscribe to the Transtector explanation so that's completely broken for me.
And the whole point of the titan masters is that each individual has different powers. Having dozens of them ruins that.
>>5892871
>I don't subscribe to the Transtector explanation so that's completely broken for me.
Well okay that's understandable. I personally am not sure how the non-Transtector method works, so I won't try to argue any further.
Having multiple dudes with the same power doesn't necessarily ruin the point of Titan Masters, but if it was a power as useful as Fracas's I see your point.
So since Hasbro has been going for toy accuracy, is it safe to assume Tidal Wave will be sharing the same colorscheme as his OG toy? I really want me some olive green monolith baddie.
>>5892886
If Fracases and Sweep bodies all have power stealing powers they'd be like armies of parasitic space vampires.
>>5892830
Oh my, I didn't realize she still has her car-door wings. They are folded down in package.
>>5892889
and if Fracases are like human/Nebulan Headmasters then they'd be an entire corps of Space Vampire Pilots.
Titans Return Scourge is the coolest.
>>5892889
>dashing good looks
>large cape
>turns into a coffin
Hmm..
>>5892819
I understood that reference.
>>5892894
Egruocs when?
>>5892890
Some random observations
>Most details are sculpted-in, including the stripes on the chest. So folks that buy the Hasbro version can paint it up easy.
>She has a 3mm hole on her butt that fits Bandai stands. But her car kibble is just in front of the hole and may obstruct the stand.
>Sawtooth does not bite...
>>5892888
Yeah, Hasbro will probably go for toy accuracy while Takara go for the purple show-accurate look.
What are the odds for a Platinum Edition though? We all know that they love clear plastic so Energon Tidal Wave would be perfect.
>>5892461
Have you been reading the comics at all? MTMTE was good for about 12 issues before it went off the rails thanks to Roberts using Tumblr and the Allspark as a sounding board, while Marhghrhgh Scott and Barber have been trying to make Windblade happen for the last 3 years with little success.
>>5892911
And no, the clear armor does not form an individual weapon.
>>5892703
>mass changing
When will this meme die?
>>5892925
I just realized, how are they gonna pull the top crest off though? The earmuffs are already kinda there with the neck pylons that've been on most of the voyagers. They kinda do the job. But they won't be able to make a titan master that actually works if it had a giant rectangle hanging off it's ass. I mean, I guess I'll be fine with that as long as the face itself still has the caveman monobrow and the grumpy frown.
>>5892800
I fucking need this.
>>5892926
I don't even know how anyone can defend the ending of MTMTE S2. Just a bunch of asspulls and anti climaxes everywhere. The only ones I've seen defending it are those idiots at the Allspark.
>>5892940
Don't TR voyagers have additional head-bits? Maybe that.
>>5892935
>caring about scale or conservation of mass
>in a line where bats and alligators are the same size
>where iPhones go into boomboxes
>and when Broadside is coming
>>5892951
All except Galvatron only have the shoulder pylons. And Galvy just has a faceplate. If he were leader class then they could do the helmet over the Titan Master gimmick, but that's not the case. My guess is he'll lack the forehead crest.
>>5892935
That's literally his power, though.
>>5892940
The crest can just be super thin so it only ends up resting behind the legs chunk in Titan Master mode.
>>5892957
But then they wouldn't be able to sit down. They've deliberately been making sure the backpacks don't go past the waist. So if he does have it, the silhouette of his head will still end up a square. Also, looking at Broadside again, his shoulder bits are literally just Tidal Wave's earmuffs. >>5892925
>>5892953
No one gives a shit about altmodes scaling. It's the robot mode that's important
>>5892955
Maybe they'll just give him Ramjet's face and make the plane-mode Ramjet-like.
Or maybe they haven't figured it out yet but after reading this post, they think it's a good idea. Thanks, 4chan.
>>5892965
How do Blurr and Scourge do it on their TMs? I don't have either, but I know their head things can be pulled out to give them accurate heads.
Also what's the likelihood of Tidal Wave retaining Broadside's jet wings? I assume TW's gonna mostly be a redeco.
>>5892971
Oh shit, I forgot their head things extended. Oh well, they might just do that then. Either way, I"m just excited.
>>5892966
Wait what was the Wolfwire anon complaining about?
>>5892971
>How do Blurr and Scourge do it on their TMs?
It's a small piece that slides out of the faceplate. Putting a shrunk-down crest in there is possible, I guess.
>Also what's the likelihood of Tidal Wave retaining Broadside's jet wings?
100%, although they might be slightly retooled to change the shape.
>>5892972
Yeah, I'm excited too. I don't mind that he's just a Voyager now; getting more Armada homages will always be a plus in my book.
>>5892973
He was complaining about Apeface's TM ablity being mass shifting in robot mode
>>5892376
Not as terrible as the tumblr-pandering gay orgy comics
>>5892468
Fuck off walky.
Go suck jin you faggot
>>5892604
Forget jet mode.
The cockpit thing works better as a tower/throne in base mode.
>>5893053
>Gay orgy
>being this hyperbolic
There's like, what, less than ten gay characters in the the entire comic? Also, they are all in monogamous relationships. Calm your tits.
I just had an idea.
>TR Dirge
>Primary alt mode is a fight jet.
>Secondary alt mode is a pile of jet parts.
>>5892864
No, no the head port connectors, the FEET of the TM guys.
Only cancer has it though, and for some reason he's become the loosest when it comes to the standing pegs, he's only worked on one and that's on the upper chest of my fort max, other than that I can blow him off the peg.
Its bizarre
>>5893065
>gay
>monogamous
Kek
Also they turned Getaway into a pedophile like Chromedome.
The fact that TR getaway is a chromedome repaint is just lol.
>>5892930
Weapon storage? not sure if intended.
>>5892625
A folding mechanize would of been better, or some way so people can "optionally" stow them away.
Those treads help in bot mode but elsewhere its shit, all he can do is a straight forward canon pose
>>5893102
The feet peg and connectors on my titan masters are either too loose or too tight.
>>5893106
Would have been better if the threads folded in the forearms.
That would have been badass- tank thread forearm armors
>tfw when I realise I can make super scramble, the jew bot
Also, anyone know what's happening with legends Weirdwolf?
>>5893107
I suppose when it comes to using those feet ports I could just resort to my own fixes (or hell, not bother, the gimmick outside of being heads is more for a kids imagination) I wonder how the intended age group, a child, would feel with these since they wouldn't know about fixing them, and the parents may not see the point returning them in especially if they somehow discover how inconsistent the issue is.
Brawn hates my fort max's pegs but he only works on one of alpha trion's space ship mode pegs, nucelon can't use the feet pegs on his own galvatron body but my skullcruncher titan masters (both hasbro and takara) along with legends hardhead would on all of them
>>5893113
Why, whats up with legends weirdwolf exactly?
And are you gonna make that super scramble using UW computron and plastinum edition liokaiser or use g2 aerial bots and pretend they're darker?
>>5893118
I'm just wondering if he's out yet, missed out on pre-orders, so i'm being vigilant in order to get one.
Superscramble's composed of the g1 versions of them, so i'm using the uw versions.
Sorry awful photo

>>5893133
Well for weirdwolf he's coming up as orderstop on hlj, better check amiami or stalk mandarake, he was open last week for 2 days.
As for superscramble I was going by the colors of the jets (infact I'm having a hard time working out who they are because of the blue used), this version however is gonna be impossible considering its abominus as the chest, let alone the greenfoot dude who I can't identify because I'm forgetful.

I dunno, I'm just coming out from a massive toy haul that was extremely successful. Got CW Defensor, United Soundwave and the final parts of TR Wave 1. If anything I'm happy as shit and eagerly anticipate Wave 2.
But the best part of all is that I get to watch you silly takaracucks pay extra money for an inferior product with worse QC and worse paint joba
>>5892255
For fuck's sake, trim those damn mold lines. And do some panel line washes.
>>5893142
yeah they do.
Ever since the Deviantart days.
>>5893154
But its true.
Ok, another complaint about hasbro's was the head was jammed on sideways requiring complete disassembly to get it out without resorting to brute force, but other than that they're exactly the same.
One thing though between them is their heads, while the TM guys are exactly the same right down to paint apps, the heads are a nice contrast.
The sharp edgy lines on hasbro's would hold better over time and tends to pop drawing your eyes, while the takara hits that sweet nostagia spot only those who grew up with the show would know.
That said, the figure is shit in general compared to the superion hardhead mold, it may lack waist movement, but more TM ports all over the vehicle body, beef care proportions, and the heads on both are actually accurate to g1 toy and g1 japanese show, you can't go wrong with him no matter which company you shill for.
>>5893162
Anon panel washes don't always help, well they would but every fucking moron goes black
>>5893169
>The sharp edgy lines on hasbro's would hold better over time and tends to pop drawing your eyes, while the takara hits that sweet nostagia spot only those who grew up with the show would know.
Holy shit, that fedora
Is your online username Emgo316 by any chance?
>>5893154
Actually, it was cheaper for me to get the unite warriors, since some of the "local" releases either weren't released here, scalped and sold for far more than they're worth, online exclusives that disappeared faster than lightning (and were also made extortionate), and lazy releases of the characters (blast-off, the technobots). It was less of a hassle to go UW and less expensive. I was on board with combiner wars initially, but they really shit the bed with it, in my opinion.
>>5893152
I was surprised how much tighter Takara is, I wasn't aware of that until I got it this week.

The technobots are the one thing Takara got right. Just that one. Everything is JUST to the maximum, especially Bruticus
So your country being shit is Hasbro's fault now? Jesus christ, fuck off
>>5893179
If lazy doesn't work for you, perhaps impatient is more accurate? Take a chill-pill dude, it's just figures, I'm happy with my less expensive, more accurate uw releases, and you're presumably happy with yours. no need to get so flustered.
>>5893171
So I'm...not meant to like either version?
And no, emGo420, hurry up and sub me and turn off adblock so my mascot can date more plastic girls.
>>5893175
As long as you're aware of the rubber in the head and wing tips, I'm wondering how I can take care of them, I highly doubt takara would make any changes.
>>5893188
Hascuck just can deal with the fact that they are obsessed with the products of an inferior company
Sure was difficult, but I finally managed to get all three of the TR Decepticon beasts wangled into some kind of base mode.
Here's Skullcruncher as a military outpost
>>5893179
Not him, perhaps he lives in Vietnam?
Jokes aside UW superion was a minimal redeco and wasn't JUST like the others (although UW grand galvatron I have a soft spot for, I own both hasbro and takara there), but then hasbro did give us the g2 sets and Victorion (and that poor set is getting an even harder to defend neon repaint into decepticons, looks like the femcombiner got the short end of the stick), and honestly, CW bruticus would of been perfect if blastoff was perfected in robot mode AND the bruticus chest was painted silver rather than the dull grey (or even a grey closer to the old toy), blastoff may better fit the theme of bruticus as a jet but that can't hide the fact he's a lazy repaint that would of been saved with a new head alone
Mindwipe as a satellite tower
>>5893188
>impatient
Check the IDW comic designs. That's what the new Blast Off figure is based off of, as well as artistic liberties to make him more modern, realistic and in scale.
>>5893189
No, the way you write is extremely easy to associate with reddit pseuds and 9GAG wannabe intellectuals. Vivid description is a wonderful thing but you take it too far.
>>5893190
>inferior company
I pay less for a better product. How is that inferior?
...and lastly, Weirdwolf as a refinery. This was the most difficult to come up with and maybe the least convincing, but if you can see the upper paws as mag-cranes I think it's okay.
>>5892617
The default jet mode is better when you get all the parts to click in place. Otherwise the legs aren't compact enough.
But i do prefer swordfish
>>5893195
>No, the way you write is extremely easy to associate with reddit pseuds and 9GAG wannabe intellectuals
Oh, that's actually the nicest way I've seen it been put forward towards me, I thank you for this.
Ok, I could defend myself and say I don't use either what's the point when I'm an ex forum fag who's never grown out old habits, I want to claim autism but doctors refuse to diagnose so there's that.
>>5892804
Is this actually a thing that's coming out?
>>5893195
>Check the IDW comic designs.
Changes in the comic are usually reactionary, and there more of a emphasis of "sell the toys" more than ever before.
>make him more modern, realistic and in scale.
Harrier jets precede the first space shuttle, both are equally "real", and if you can find me a jeep the size of a harrier jet, I'd laugh as hard as at someone using scale in a argument about transformers.
>>5893207
Yeah it's an e hobby release
>>5893206
I'm an ex-Youtube warrior who's favorite tactic involved impeccable grammar and eloquent vocab as well as frequently and intelligently placed ad hominem to outsmart whichever tard decided to try an argue with me. I typed ridiculously a lot to try and boost my image but really it was all for show. I don't do that shit anymore because it's more fun to outsmart your enemies while being brutal and blunt with them at the same time.
>>5893208
Are they? I can't tell which one came first honestly
And let's face it, a Harrier jet is more in scale with a jeep than a space shuttle is. And having a jet place in a combat vehicle oriented squad is way more realistic than a space shuttle that's there for god knows what reason
>>5893202
That in lies a problem, most panels, he is like pic related, in some later issues he is just like the toy, mouth, back of head, etc.
Honestly, it seems IDW is flipping between total toy accuracy to current hasbro products to OC material like aspergus (as an excuse to rope in the background characters into the mess), the fact slingshot is dead in the comics helps them get away with this.
I take the comics with a pinch of salt since (from where I've read which isn't much) they appeared after the toys, that and sentinel trump looks nothing like the toy he's based on apart from the head
>>5892358
The Hasbro head is directly based on Nick Roche's designs, and they even set him up with Rewind when they revealed them :^)
>>5893207
e hobby, but its literally just the head, its co-selling skullcruncher to use as his body with the tie in comic kinda just giving it to him out of no where.
The toy on the right is just to show where it was inspired by
>>5893215
>IDW can't keep a consistent design
Like my Asian friend once said at the office party, "Supplies, supplies."
>>5892813
That's the point.
>>5893212
Oh man, I seen those types, I lacked the skill to do that stuff but even I knew its pointless when you get a dumbass who blunders right on past the show of "skill".
I still articulate too much I suppose and want to cut back, but not to do with arguments, if anything I want to avoid those, half the time I make fun of myself just to get out of the firing range.
>>5893212
>a Harrier jet is more in scale with a jeep than a space shuttle is
True? But again I must point out the folly of using scale as a argument, Take Defensor and Silverbolt, if we were to realistically scale them, Silverbolt alone would be equally as big or bigger than the combined protectobots.
I suppose if we're uncreative about it, a jet does make more sense, but for strategy, a shuttle could be a lot more useful, as you've got a eye on the entirety of the battlefield, the abilty to launch destructive orbital strikes, and if we presume size changing happens, a craft to provide entry and exit out of combat zones, sounds a lot more useful than just a jet.
>>5893236
We're talking about approximates really, going into detail the entire Combaticons are fucked due to a jeep being the same size as a tank
Not really though? There's only so much a shuttle in space can do. And 99% of it is dependent on how skilled of a sniper and tactician the shuttle is. In Blast Off's case he's a fairly competent sniper but not even close to a tactician, rendering that point slightly mute.
And what's he going to do when he needs to combine? Rocket down from several thousand meters in the air? A jet plane would work way more coherently as a member of a team, especially a combiner team
>>5892474
>>5893247
He isn't the tactician though, Onslaught is.
>Rocket down from several thousand meters in the air?
Guess he'll need to, I imagine Onslaught knows when they'll need to combine in advance, and gets him there for when they need him.
I'd rather they'd just made it be a new character, if they're not going to do him right, then why bother, and they have two unused heads they could work with.
>>5892617
Your transformation is suffering from droopy cannon.
Don't feel bad: Droopy cannon is a common problem with mounting the cannon under the cockpit.
>>5893217
I guess Takara wins then, since they're the only ones who haven't submitted to the tumblrfaggotry.
>>5893253
That was my point, Onslaught should be the one up in the air if anything but whatever.
Onslaught's plans have gone awry before though, he may need to combine impromptu. Then what, Bruticus lacks a right arm for 10 minutes before Blast Off arrives?

>>5893524

>>5892853
Or you can ignore that the toy is a headmaster.
I picked up a G1 Ruckus at a flea market yesterday for a quarter. Did I do good?
It seems to be in good shape, stickers are in fair condition and the triggercon gimmick works.
>>5893542

Cybertron Hotshot
Animated Sentinel, Blackarachnia and Blurr
RID Scourge and Skybyte
DOTM Sentinel Prime
Prime Dreadwing, FE Bulkhead, FE Arcee and BH Shockwave
>>5893535
I guess I;d have to "feel" out the situation. If a guy is clearly up close to the toys and is obviously taking a picture of something, I'm not going to reach in front of them and take the thing they're photographing. But if someone is just standing there, not looking at something specifically and on their phone, I would probably just do whatever I'm doing.
Of course, I always let kids have first shot at stuff. If a kids if at the toys I'm interested, I generally just pop back after they're done. I also don't want parents giving me pedo-accusing eyes.
>>5893386
Quality-aside (haven't seen it, don't care to), it seems to me like Ghostbusters could've done alright financially if they'd gone low-budget like the original. But of course there's no way the execs would've gone for that.
But with regards to MTMTE, yes, people ARE buying it. That's why it's been running for nearly five years. Soon it'll be the longest running Transformers comic ever. It has strong digital sales and strong trade sales. You can have whatever opinion you like about the content and the quality of it but Hasbro and IDW have found their market, and it's a market that fucking loves supporting artists. You surely know how tumblrs get about that shit.
>>5893065
Dude, they're fucking robots. How the hell do people look at this franchise and decide that this is where we need LGBTQ representation?
>>5893582
This is unfortunately true. At least from the digital side.
>>5893584
Because Transformers isn't popular enough to resist change for the sake of change and maintain a status quo.
>>5893584
Gay people like Transformers, and people like to see themselves represented in the media they enjoy.
>>5893589
Thats funny, I don't recall anyone rallying for fat, ugly neckbeard robots, or screaming, bastard child robots. Because thats what most of the fanbase is.
Maybe people don't want that, maybe it's just a small subset of vocal whiners trying to force everything to fit their world view and people caving in for brownie points with whiners that don't even buy the shit in the first place?
>>5893600
It's literally that gay people like Transformers, and people like to see themselves represented in the media they enjoy.
>>5893600
>whiners that don't even buy the shit in the first place
Please show us the figures you obviously must have that show that no LGBLTBBQs ever bought or liked Transformers prior to MTMTE.
You want to talk about whiners that "don't even buy the shit", maybe look to cheapskates pirating comics in Win O Threads. If not for shit like that, we wouldn't be seeing comics companies looking for alternate markets. We wouldn't be losing titles like Superior Foes while shit like Batgirl and Miss Marvel get multiple printings.
>>5893414
Metroplex has a sad now.
Does anyone know the implication on Takara toys from acquiring the car manufactuer's license on the Binaltech, Alternity and the Masterpiece line.
I noticed that only the car bots from MP-12 were licensed and Inferno could be as well. MP-10 wasn't though since it wasn't a popular enough real world vehicle.
>>5893659
Hasbro and takara have been doing this since RiD2001. While its never been elaborated, people speculate that the reason Super Sideburn has Dodge Viper licensing is because Dodge got wind of an unlicensed toy mimicking their design and threatened legal action or hasbro decided to acquire the license to play it safe. The fact that only Sideburn was affected seems to point to the former. all the RiD Car Brothers where based on real vehicles, and their US releases did minor changes on their headlight paint to distinguish them from the real vehicles.
For the most part Hasbro/Takakra have tried to gain real world licenses if they base vehicles off ones from major automobile manufacturers, but more specialized vehicles aren't(trucks, jets, etc.) Often you get legally distinct made-up vehicles made of composites of several, real world cars, like in Classics/ Universe/Generations. Its also known that Takara being bought by Tomy, who own Tomica( a hotwheels-like line of car models), its become easier for them to get car licenses.
>>5893673
I tend to only buy transformers that transform into intricate real world vehicles. It shows how hard they tried to get both modes right.
I hardly buy any of the Cybertronian vehicles.
>>5893179
Just fall down a well already you useless cuck.

I think they could get a few bayformer MPs done well. Overall I thought the better film toys were really pushing on MP quality. In fact one of the Starscream leader class toys was so good that Takara literally gave it a movie-accurate repaint and sold it as a masterpiece.
It'd be stupid to expect 1:1 representations but they can get close enough with some characters.

G1 MPs are probably the most balanced.
Binaltech and Alternity are 85% car and 15% robot. G1 MPs are around 55:45
Bayformers not sure. To many of them are still Hasbro toy quality, though targeted at adults just like the Cybertronian designs from Fall of Cybertron.
>>5893785
Looks best out of all the Bayformer toys out there, but the shoulders are just exposed hinges. So still a mainline repaint.
>>5893779
Ah, I didn't know he looked that way in the later films.
Still, I always thought the tattoos looked kind of garish and it turned me off the figure.
>>5893759
In general, the Bayformer designs are very monstrous, with disproportioned bodies etc.
The G1 designs are more traditionally heroic looking.
>>5893600
There are many that have either bad smell/sickening powers (Blot, Skalor, a lot of Beast Wars guys), are what would be fat in human standards (Sharkticon, Energon Optimus Prime, various Bulkheads, AoE Hound) and annoying childlike ones (Wheelie, Cheetor, Hot Shot, Animated Bumblebee, Rid2 Sideswipe).
>>5893773
>>5893755
>they're trying to defend that cancerous aesthetic of Bayformers

>>5893867
>even on really high end stuff. I've had stuff messed up on $300 toys.
This is frustrating as fuck and makes me want to stop spending $200+ on single toys. Every now and then I go back to the onld habits of buying domestic stuff and imports that get domestic release, or at least lower pricepoint ones. The cost/enjoyment ratio is better on cheapo things a lot of the time.
Is Blackarachnia's waist supposed to be really loose?
In robot mode her torso folds in on itself a lot
>>5893869
Yeah the my only foray into Turd Parties also resulted in 3 of the 4 items I bought being various levels of broken out of the box and BBTS was quick to replace it.
I've never had an item from Hobbylink arrive fucked though so I don't know how their return policies go. I've already filed it though, so I guess I'll see.

You sound as if you believe Transformers is some sort of high-brow, high-art medium. Here's a hint, it's not. It's disposable entertainment at it's best, joyless shilling at it's worst. And Protip, the entire franchise is designed to sell toys, they'll appeal to anyone who'll buy their products. Thinking your money is somehow worth more than that of other demographics is pretty vain itself.

For Masterpiece, I think they'd only ever make him if he was a new mold.

>>5893950

>>5894010
Man, it feels weird remembering that the MP line is basically aiming for a new release every month.
>>5894006
It wouldn't need to be entirely new, Blaster and Soundwave always looked pretty similar aside from the major differences.
And yeah I wish they did more Masterpiece cassettes in general. For one of the most popular G1 toy gimmicks, they sure did abandon cassette-bots after those two overpriced two-packs
Plus, as far as I know Ratbat's MP was only ever available with the Soundblaster MP.
Which really sucks.
>>5894075
>overpriced two-packs
>Ratbat's MP was only ever available with the Soundblaster MP.
Maybe it was a case of them screwing up the distribution model and then just assuming that cassettes don't sell rather than learning the right lesson. Happens all the time in business.
>>5894075
>Plus, as far as I know Ratbat's MP was only ever available with the Soundblaster MP.

Yeah the two packs were like 50$ each.
The MP cassette bots were good don't get me wrong, but individually they wouldn't look out of place on a 5$ card pack.
At least the hasbro release and the takara reissue coming up had the right idea to just include all 5 of them with Soundwave at not much of an extra cost to the figure.

More Transformers Legends/Japanese G1 fiction:
Shockwave with Cancer
Cancer is approached by Shockwave, who sees great idol potential in the boy and asks him to become one to help improve the image of the Decepticons in the Legends Universe. On the advice of Browning, Cancer realizes that if he becomes famous, he can use the opportunity to fulfill his dream of spreading the word of the Chōryūken dojo and honoring his sensei. He accepts, and is soon singing and dancing before an audience thanks to Shockwave, who acts as his manager and is glad that his plan to provide backup for Megatron's peaceful Decepticon takeover of the world is succeeding.
The concert is suddenly crashed by Skullcruncher, the Decepticon Headmaster faction still being opposed to the use of peaceful methods, and Shockwave swears to defend Cancer just as he used to defend Cybertron. To his surprise, Cancer joins him in the battle by transforming into his armored Headmaster Junior form, revealing that he used to be a Decepticon warrior too! With Cancer manning his gun mode, Shockwave sends Skullcruncher flying with a mighty blast. Afterwards, Cancer tells his manager that he left the Decepticons because he thought they were just a bunch of killers, and Shockwave answers that he supports Megatron's vision of peaceful Decepticons, but worries about his leader being manipulated by evil minds like the Headmasters. The two vow to work together to make the Decepticons a clean and friendly organization... starting with having Cancer sign 300 CDs for his fans.

Shockwave is a male.
>>5894140
When did they start making LEGO figures that tiny?
WTF i hate Hasbro now
Are Binaltech, Alternity and Masterpiece along with Third Party offerings the only full fledge TF toy lines made for adult collectors?
>>5894374
The fuck is that and why does it look like SlamDance
>>5894391
A crash combiner. Apparently was added to RiD game update. People speculate it might work like how the Multiforce and Energon combiners did and be head/pants.
>>5894388
The only one of those that's "made for adult collectors" is Masterpiece. Even Binaltech and Alternators were aimed at kids
>>5893941
I still want Jazz and Trailbreaker, at least the former could be remoulded into Hoist.
They always prioritise the guys with remoulds and recolours.
Megatron and Trailbreaker are likely as they are waiting for the Third Party tide ones to settle.
Both Shockwave and Inferno came after their Third Party wars.
>>5893825
Agreed. I remember fuck-all from Bayformers (never even watched the 4th one), but one of the few things that has stuck is how beastly the Decepticons were. Like the weird goblin thing that disguised as a hot chick and the Constructicon.
>>5894406
The pretender chick and Devastator were the only things worth remembering about RotF
I'd still like to pick up a toy of that Devastator if I ever found it somewhere.
>>5894393
Looks more like they literally crashed together and got their parts re-assembled together in some crazy destructive combination sequence like someone swapping parts on a couple Bionicles, and then got all the colours messed around
>>5893773
Most are OK but at one point the ones with silver/gray alt forms really did look like a clusterfuck. But it was only really an issue when they were fighting and shit.
>>5894411
Too bad Alice is pretty much impossible to make toywise. Applying a Beast Wars approach to an animatronic facsimile of a human would be neato.
>>5894418
The only scene I remember that was really bad was the forest fight in RotF
Despite ironically being the best action scene in the movie, Prime fighting three grey robots at once fist to fist wasn't exactly easy to keep track of.
>>5893900
Anything other than the norm is sexual, and in a series aimed at kids, that isn't right.
>>5894425
Literally Optimus Fights Steel Wool Pads: The battle scene
>>5894423
>Alice
Anyone else used pic related as an Alice stand in?
>>5894457
No. Also that looks like it has limited if any articulation.
>>5894457
That looks fucking hideous
>>5894174
>wearing nothing but a loose robe that barely covers anything to the point where his boxers underneath are visible
At least the females of the audience had a good time.
Got that oversized Powerglide the other day. The thing is awesome at this size.
>>5894505
>minibots at deluxe class
>classics bumblebee
Fucking why?
>>5894496
That's cute.
>>5894510
Because Legends size is fucking stupid, and too small for Minibots. They're still smaller that Deluxes, and larger than actual small guys at Legends size like the cassettebots.
>>5894557
>cassette bots are legends sized
This is where you're wrong, you retard
>>5894560
lolwut
>>5894564
Oh yeah let's ignore the fact that Blaster and Soundwave are now grossly out of scale
End your life right now my man
>>5894568
I already ignore Blaster and Soundwave. I have better versions.
>>5894570
So it's OK to have Blaster and Soundwave's cassettebots be unable to fit into their chest?
The only excuse for Rewind is that it represents his IDW incarnation which is not tied to Blaster in any way
>>5894576
Not much to do about that. You want tapeguys that fit in their chest, Blaster and Soundwave have to be bigger than Voyager to make that work. I'm fine not having that play pattern because I don't play with toys.
>>5894576
And might I add, Rewind in IDW is classified a minibot. So unless you're going to get a deluxe class upscale (and buying KOs is cancer) of him good luck getting him to work in your garbage scale
>>5894582
>not much to do about that
Other than the fact that there are 3Ps who've released cassettebots for WFC Deluxe Soundwave?
You aren't even trying are you?
>>5894582
>I don't play with toys
That's like a vinyl collector saying "I don't listen to music" or a painting collector saying "I don't appreciate art". You are literally depriving other people who are more deserving of the toy and want to use it for its intended purpose, rather than you who buys them and doesn't use them at all
Off yourself and burn your collection while you're at it
>>5894592
You're mixing up WFC Soundwave and FOC Soundwave you retardimus maximus. WFC Soundwave doesn't have any official cassettebots. FOC Soundwave does and is garbage.
And you're missing the damn point. You buying toys and not playing with them is cancer. That is all
>>5894589
I can taste how autistic you are. I bet you carry small toys in your pocket to play around with if you get bored. Depriving other people of a toy? More deserving? You sound ridiculous.
>>5894592
>Minibot
>Is the size of the average Transformer
Nigga what
>>5894598
>u-u-um a-autism
Nicu nicu goodo jobu
>>5894602
None of those are the size of an average Transformer, you sperg.
>>5894624
That is the size of an average transformer. Just a shorter and fatter one.
>>5894624
Does it go
3mm-cheap to buy small-scale version of more popular characters
Basic/Scout/Nu-Lengends- small people
Deluxe- standard body size
Voyager- big guys
Leader- Leader guys. Large and in charge.
Supreme, Titan, combiners- HOLY FUCK YOU ARE MASSIVE
>>5894630
Accurate except that Ops and Megs fall under Voyager class as do most squad leaders. Big dudes like Jetfire and Sixshot fall under Leader class so switch those around
>all this arguing about cassettebots
>not just buying the Classics Soundwave reissue with the double chest and some Masterpiece cassette knock-offs of the missing tapes
>not buying the Platinum Edition set with Blaster, three of his cassettes and a free Perceptor
>>5894662
Yeah. Buy outdated toys.
Final page to the Convobat, and Megalligator prologue story.
People are assuming the guy that came for Megalligator is Beast Wars Soundwave.
>>5894668
Fair enough. Blaster is pretty brickish and while Soundwave is still good, it's true that he has an even better Masterpiece available.
>>5894668
>>outdated toys
How is it outdated? What makes a toy outdated? That sounds extremely pedantic.
>>5894662
>buying plastic bricks when modern versions with better engineering exist
l m a o
>>5894393
>Multiforce
Ok my dick just got hard.
>>5894686
It has a similar color scheme, and the original Soundwave had his real face inside the bat head, which the Nightbeat head can sorta mimic.
>>5894676
They are far behind modern toy standards. Its not hard to grasp.
>>5893103
Getaway did not have any sexual interest in Tailgate, he just wanted to sacrifice Tailgate to get rid of Megatron.
christ, it's like you didn't read the comic.
