Are yall in the DX9 camp or MT when it comes to your Megatron stand in?

MT would fit into my more IDW collection so I'm going with him.

I like them both. Theres things I don't like about both.

DX9's has the skinnier legs, but they give him the better gun mode. Also his face/helm is more accurate.

MT's has the better overall "look" for Megs down, but his gun mode handle looks to be made for people who found the original XBox controller a good fit. His face also isn't as spot on, but it's still a good likeness. Also, a spotless back, for what it's worth. You know, if you like to pose your 'bots facing the fucking wall.

I'm probably going MT on this. DX9 did a great job, so did MT, but MT's just appeals to me a bit more. Transformations on both look fantastic as well.

I sense a shitton of Apolloyon's going on eBay/right into the fucking trash really soon.

Yeah, it really should have. It's better than MP5, but being 0.25 better than something that looked half baked to being with still isn't too great.

And I think the scope should've been a little chunkier/shorter for MT.

Apollyon served his purpose of filling void in peoples collections until a better or official option was available. I was able to sell mine to a friend who's more of a casual collector. Never transformed him for fear of breaking something.

I can understand it in some cases where lines are usually kept to a certain scale, like Figma's and Revo's and Marvel Legends and shit all being roughly 1/12th scale.

But Transformers never adhered to any sort of scale, never can, and never will. The closest attempt is the MP line, and even that is off either in altmode, robot mode, or both in some cases, because it's flat out impossible to make some things scale right due to it being based on shit where things just magically shrink/expand.

Well, they haven't disappointed with much in their Reformatted line. Hexatron is the gold standard for 3P figures, Commotus/whatever the Impactor version was colored were good, Cynicus and Anarchus were great, etc.

Got my upgrade kit for Magnus and its magnificent. I'm loving the extra weight with the figure and the added articulation such as ankle joints and articulated fingers that really impacts the figure into the horizon.

Is it weird that my favorite part of this entire set is the filler piece for the back on the TT release? I just makes it look so much less like an eye sore and cleans up the rear view nicely. Also, gun storage.

As for other kits. Microblaze Brawl turns FOC Bruticus from pile of shit aesthetics to god tier aesthetics despite its issues.

The Colossus kit back in the day for energon Bruticus was the bees knees when combiners were a pipe dream. Made the price jump on the ROTF exclusive Bruticus almost double.

The KFC hands for the MP car bots are actually pretty good. Possibly the only good thing that comes out of KFC. It really makes some figures pop when they can express more, like G2 Sideswipe.

Speaking of, I really like the Dr. Wu rambo kit for G2 Sideswipe. The Q/C on mine was really terrible and required a lot of gluing on my end, but the end result is great, especially when combined with the KFC hands.

I plan on buying the DX9 mightron but I still feel they really dropped the ball with the accessories. Seriously not even the sword or pistol from the movie? Just the flail and some shitty sword/scythe that's not even for him. It also sucks that both DX9 and MMC didn't include the silencer and stock for gun mode but that is a smaller issue.

As is it is solid as a rock to a fault. Christ you can shake this thing and nothing moves. I think that's why there are replacement hip parts with not hook so you can actually move them out to the side. Good luck actually bending the knees even with the peg leverage though. It's sort of like a Reverse Hercules syndrome. The contact points from the feet that hit the ground don't look like they should be as stable as it feels. Adding 3 more members on top of it and I don't think we have much to worry about stability wise but we will see.

They're honestly pretty different things. Crox is a decent deluxe-ish sized headmaster. Evil Lord is a cool-looking huge legends sized toy. Very different things. Personally, having owned Crox, I'd say go for Evil Lord as it's the only option for a small Overlord these days, where as you can get a deluxe Skullcruncher officially now. Plus, and this might just be me, I couldn't get past how Crox was sculpted first and foremost to be the Optimus redeco and thus he ended up looking less like Skullcruncher in the end.

I'm at the point where I want to wait for what they are planning for their powermaster Prime. I know its going to be completely different, but I'm going to go from having like 2 Primes total to a billion given all the stuff coming in the pipeline. On my radar are 2 Legends from IF and Transformission, At least one of the MP sized IDW Primes, Planet X FOC Prime, maybe one upgrade kit for CW Prime, and whatever Maketoys is cooking up. God forbid Nemesis Prime repaints which I know at least Striker is going to get.

If MT Powermaster Prime is as good as it sounds and Striker gets a black repaint I think I'm going that route. I just don't want to commit at this point even if I want the line to succeed badly.

I live in Canada so I don't buy from BBTS at all cause their lowest shipping is too expensive. TFSource I usually only see them during TFcon but I also don't really do business with them since I do know a local 3p seller so he is easier to contact and I don't need to really pay for shipping on top of his freight cost.

For me, it comes down mostly to wanting to show them all together as a team. It's why the best collection for Animated was Voyager Prime, Activators/Hydrodive Bumblebee, Leader Bulkhead, and Deluxe everyone else; because that was the best look for them as a group. Bulkhead is big and burly, Bumblebee is the little one, and so on; it actually brings across the designs of the show better.

In other cases, it's just fun to line up a bunch of figures with altmodes in rough scale. Legends RTS Optimus and RTS Lugnut are about in scale with each other, so it's fun to play Attack of the Giant Lugnut on occasion.

Sadly yes. There's a reason CW Jetfire used the toy altmode; Skyfire's altmode is basically a doorstop with wings.
