TF source dose as dose TCP but as you stated you have to pay up front for PO. Didn't know you could get a refund with TCP but, honestly it sounds like more trouble than its worth. Truth be told I rarely use BBTS for transformer related purchases anymore. Not when I can get better deals elsewhere. I guess it just comes down to customer service.

BBTS is pretty much the gold standard in that department. TFS I've heard way too many horror stories and Chosen Prime I've heard mixed things (which is why I haven't tried them). The only other store I've dealt with that matches BBTS in customer service is Toy Dojo. The owner is a stand up guy and has looked out for me many times. He even responds to emails on weekends! I emailed him on a late Friday night and early the next day got a reply back!

Got Crox in today, fucking love him.

A lot of people had complaints with him, like the prime chest and awkward thumbs and it ended up making me pass.

Skullsmasher looked awesome, but after handling him I was really dissapointed, so I was really excited that TFSource had that sale.

Got to say it was absolutely worth it. Plastic feels amazingly solid, all the joints are just the right stiffness, head is cool, love the sword, poses well. Only part that was off was his fists, after the first transformation i loosened the screw a bit, they were a bit too tight and i didnt want to risk stressing the balljoint the beast feat are on

Prime chest looks a total bummer in pictures, but the faint translucent tint of the windows doesnt get across right till you see it in person, looks much better. Really do wish the back was the front though, the gold piping is cool.

Beast mode though i do prefer hastak. The boxiness of Crox isnt bad, but i love the rounded fleshnyness of Skullsmasher, especially the extra posing of the head and the textured rubbery tongue

Crox in beast mode is okay, his legs have as decent range as you would expect for a lizard that crawls on its stomach basically, the only issue is that his head can't move side to side, which kills a lot of posing, unlike the hastak which has an amazing head for the crock mode

the body does have some arching ability from the different sections so he can wiggle up and down and turn a bit, but without being able to move the head much it doesn't really do it

I'll rarely pose him in beast mode though so its not a huge loss really, might keep skullsmasher just for beast mode posing actually lol

one little thing I noticed while playing with Crox is that he has these really cool golden spikes on his elbows, and I would have loved if they had a pin on them, I keep wanting to use them as an elbow stab but they stay flush with the arm

There are people who wave away products who are/can be superior to a Takara product merely because it's not official and that's retarded.

DX9 Carry gives the 2.0 Rodimus a run for his money. There's several things the Voodoo potion Ironhide has over the MP. The continued Inferno and Trailbreaker wars show that 3rd party isn't afraid to compete with Takara anymore.

The problem with Trailbreaker is that his G1 design is just shit. From the dumpy, double-layered torso to his weird face and all-black headsculpt. It sucks because I like the character, but any high-end, MP-style version is destined to look like shit, because the character looks like shit. I much prefer his IDW redesigns, where his face gets to be a different color from his helmet at least.

That said, Badcube's efford is passable, at least in the chest area. It makes it kind of work.

I suppose that's true. I'm certainly torn between MP Megs and Despotron, and will probably buy both to do extensive comparison.

The thing is, it's not all about presentation for me. I think, unequivocally, Takara understands the nature of compromise that is essential to make a good Transformer, while many third parties get a little too ambitious at times, or put too much emphasis on one mode over the other.

By the time the rest of these come out, I think a lot of people will have cooled down and might want them more. As for me, the only thing that comic did for me in terms of toys is make me care less about Tarn. The others never really had any glimmer of a personality, so I'm fine with their story being ended without much more. Tarn however, had the potential to be a bit more. I'm not saying he had to be Roller, but his current story was certainly lackluster. He was just some absolute nobody noone will ever care about and he died like a nobody. Maybe that's poetic, but it doesn't make me care. I don't think it's a good thing when a character is given LESS depth.
