>>Marauder: Valkyries and co, there are several color changes, corrections and adjustments being made to the items.
>>change the hardness/softness on many of the items and correct the fit/function on several body parts & accessories. The good news is the vast majority of the parts & working features were correct. The bad news is some of the seemingly relatively minor issues with “fit/function” require NEW production tools. These new tools take some time to complete & test. Couple the new tool need with the factory requirement that the massive order be split into 2 (TWO) separate production runs and our revised end of August ship is now not possible.

i'm tempted to get another, just because I'm missing troop transports.
>FSS 5 previews continue Registration open til 9/2
The Club has been on point with the Previews
>FSS Salvo controversy
The Clubs version of the Anti Armor trooper was hated by fans leading to the Club....to REBUILD SALVO the club listened to the fans and is working on a new version to be be previewed next week at the latest
If anyone's interested at least one Dollar Tree here in SE Wisconsin restocked their two 1:18 military toys, so other stores probably will too. The figures are godawful but the accessories are decent.
I got a loose unused Soundwave HISS because it was all I wanted. QC felt a bit shit, actually. A few scuff marks here and there, scratch on the canopy, not what 'd expect from an SDCC exclusive. I wish they'd also have included the normal rocket launchers for the bucket as well, I hate the Soundwave battery guns, and making one extended to be "G1 accurate" wasn't necessary.
>>5870686
>A few scuff marks here and there, scratch on the canopy, not what 'd expect from an SDCC exclusive.
Is that your first SDCC exclusive? Theyve been shitty with qc for a few years now. Just sayin, no hatin.
>>5870914
Yeah, I rarely have much interest in SDCC stuff from any line. I don't attend the show anyway and most of it goes for a fair bit on the aftermarket so I rarely hunt it down9and what doesn't go for much is usually throwaway junk). In this case it's people buying the set for Powerglide and parting off Soundwave, they've dropped to between $45-$50 shipped lately- which is still a bit excessive, but it's the 2005 DTC HISS mold and no version of that sells very cheap to start with.
I ignored the Soundwave stickers anyway and just did my own decal job. I covered up the canopy scratch with a big Cobra sticker so it's not a big deal.
>>5871013
>>5870914
I've never had that problem on mine.
Even bought multiples last year and they're fine.
I forget what pieces come in bags, but it's very unlikely to happen because of the way it's packaged.
So either some Chinaman commited suicide while holding a hiss and them not wanting it to go to waste or the reseller fucked it up.
>>5870686
>I got a loose unused Soundwave HISS
are you really complaining about QC
>>5870489
I really fucking want this. Im guessing it wil run $40 at big lots this year. Should be getting their new stuff in soon too. I regret not grabbing a repainted battlefield set last year.
>>5871098
There was also that Chinese KS-1/HQ-12 mobile SAM launcher they produced last year that could make an appearance.
>>5871535
Who said you were lying?
I'm just saying it's incredibly rare for somethingl ike that to happen because of the way it was packaged, which is why i put the blame on the chinaman who jumped from the roof holding that hiss or the reseller just being careless.
>>5870481
Do any 1/18 soldier lines that ain't GI Joe sell the opfor guys? Everywhere I look I see basically the same American-looking dudes.
>>5872301
Those codenames come across as kinda tryhard.
>>5872295
>or the reseller just being careless.
Bagged parts. Reseller didn't damage shit.
It's also a Hasbro product, it's not like there's stellar QC to start with.
>>5872301
Dunno but maybe you can army-build Kairo-swordsmen.
>>5872953
QC is one thing, but something coming damaged?
Never had that ever happen to me before. Ever.
The worst I've ever experienced was a cape missing a paltron section, like they ran out of plastic when filling the mold. Just a smooth short section instead of the sculpted section with a peg on it.
>>5872956
Speaking of which, Crystal Skull had some 50's Soviet soldiers with AK-47's but damn this lack of unamerican figures or even terrorists.
The hell are the special forces supposed to be shooting at?
Ugh, I love Vortious Custom accessories, but I HATE the waiting time. Ordered at the end of June, still waiting. Don't want to pester him anymore since he's backed up, but the wait is painful.
>>5873064
He's always been good for me and has always let me know if there are any delays.
And better than Broken Arrow by miles and I got boned on my last order(s) from Tofu Jesse who repeatedly said
1. he had sent them.
- then said his local post office was always messing him around.
2. had a friend supposedly filling/mailing the orders - which also didn't show up.
About $35-45 plus shipping I've given up on.
and damn I wanted those mutant dogs.
>>5873480
2nd year anniversary of not getting my shit was last month, and TofuJesse got me for $70.
Someone with his old 6" molds is still selling on Ebay, so good luck if you're a Legends customizer.
>>5873480
Yeah, I've ordered from him before and I was really happy with the quality of the stuff, but the wait is excruciating! It's like two items, one of which is the last - and most important - part of a custom. He started on the batch of orders it's in last week, so I expect either a tracking number or the package on my doorstep any day.
I want my instant gratification!
>>5873480
Man after all these years you think people would come up with new excuses.
>>5874014
I am cool with a month or two for my "instant gratification" as well as the seller keeping me updated to any sort of long delays.
Broken Arrow was a stone bitch to deal with and the dude considers 2 emails in 3 weeks to be "pressuring him" to him pretty much flat out saying he would drag his heels. Tofu Jessie was good fo r a few orders and reasonably prompt - then I got butt-fucked.
Had a guy from here going to give me gear for a Marauder gift card.
Got burnt on that one.
BUT
I also did 2 trades that worked out great.
>>5874840
Broken Arrow once insisted I sell him some Joe figures at practically half of what I was asking, and even told me to tell off another buyer who was willing to pay full price, because, and I'm not kidding, his excuse was "but I really want them".
Planet-sized ego, much?
>>5871098
>>That raptor
I did not see him the 1st time. Clever girl.
The upcoming SW Rogue One 5 POAs have some nice techno-looking backpacks. Time to wait for them to clearance/show up on 2nd-hand cheap.
Every 1/18th collector will give in and buy one of these someday...
>>5875298
Unfortunately I don't have the space/setup to take nice photos of the Shark.
I already had the TRU submarine prior to this so I knew what I was in for...but fuck the TRU packaging, man. I have no car so I had to haul the 3ft box back home on a public bus, only to return home to find a 1.5ft long EMPTY box inside. They could've just used the less bulky, old Chap Mei packaging.
>>5875298
First I'm buying a Flagg then I'm buying a Terrordrome. Then this.
>>5875326
I think you'll find a $5 AB-115 before you can afford a 5k Flagg.
(light's just pen torch dumped at the side, cockpit's just a plain couch)
>>5875365
5k is what the Flagg is going for now? Last time I saw one was at a con they had it for less than 2k.
I was telling myself I was totally gonna join the fss this year, but eh... None of these are really doing it for me.
>>5875510
Scoop and Darklon looks good.
Everyone else is meh
>>5875743
I really wanted to like darklon, but I hate those IG legs and the Zartan arms. His proportions jutlst look off.
I might try and pick up Flagg on the aftermarket, though.
>>5875510
>Raptor
>so into parts reuse they get so much shit wrong
>>5875510
Why do I want Steel Raven so badly? She's so meh, yet I want her. She's just a retooled RoC Paris Pursuit Baroness.
Annnnnd the one Black series 3.75" Finn I buy during a no-refund/return warehouse sale has a broken wrist right out of the box.
THANK
FUCK
>>5875510
I'm gonna get all of them except Gaucho since he's just a straight-up repaint that I have no use for. Really want Steel Raven and the 90's Viper.
>>5876382
You can fix it.
>>5870489
My poor wallet
>>5878943
So who's bunking with who?
Does Hasbro not make GI Joe anymore?
>>5880198
It's a TRU exclusive line. New waves are coming in november.
>>5880201
Oh, all right. I remembered seeing some at my local TRU, but when I was suddenly overcome with an urge to peruse last night I tried just going to hasbro's website and there wasn't even an option to look for Joes.
>>5880204
Yeah, it's not in a good state right now. Pretty much just dredging along until the next movie.
>>5878943
Your poor wallet. How'd you manage to get them all to your car without them toppling over in a cart?
>>5875298
I found an incomplete one in a Salvation Army outlet. No wings, no canopy, no roof -- and no problem, because I only wanted it as a static, grounded piece of landscape.
>>5875298
I have one. Caught it on sale or used a 20% coupon. Its big and I dont know what to do with it anymore. All the aircraft end up taking up empty space and I dont use them for pictures hardly.
So that Eagle Force KS is up. The coolest looking figure has to be unlocked? Meh.
WE I JOE
>>5882864
2004 & 2007 called, they say you're an idiot and shitposter.
>>5882773
>So that Eagle Force KS is up. The coolest looking figure has to be unlocked? Meh.
I appreciate that they made the add-on buy-in the basic $20 level. Still annoyed at the extra stuff I had to get from Boss Fight for their Kickstarter to add-on the stuff I really wanted.
>>5882773
>>5883597
Well, they are almost funded, 100k in less than 2 days.
>>5884120
I pledged for two figures. The R.I.O.T. Pilot because he looks like a 1930s pulp character, and a second add-on figure. Probably Captain Eagle. Might add-on a few more. Not really interested in multiples of the army builders with this line though.
Wasn't there some people leery of the EF kickstarter? Something to do with going away from the Boss FIght people and going with someone else?
>>5875298
I love this beast of a plane, but right now I have it tucked away in storage with the rest of my Joe stuff. Hoping to get a house by next year and with it a nice big man-cave of some sort so I can finally spread out my collection again.
I wish I had more pics of it, it's such a great looking piece, though it does need some tweaks. Adding some plastic to the windshield is a great first step, but the guns and cockpit need to be upgraded...a lot. But it's cool that you can actually fit two Armadillos in the belly of this thing if you remove the seats.
can anyone remember this line of relatively new 1/18 figures being sold in china right now that had abunch of blue palette soldiers and vehicles?
All the soldiers had these really large thick robot legs and the vehicle i wanna say some what resembled a btr.
>>5885902
never mind. i found it.
Some sort of futuristic side project of world peacekeepers
>>5885913
kek this is cute.
>>5885913
There is actually a cartoon of that too.
>>5885950
Really?
any links?
>>5885935
Boxy's been upgraded.
I see Hiya has some more pictures of their APC. Any word on price or date at all? Still can't decide if I want to start a 1/12 or 1/18 alien collection and the APC might be the decider.

>>5888510
>Those new aliens.
>Predator license
Fuck, 1/18 it is. Even if they don't make a queen, the Neca queen would still look pretty good mixed in, I think.
>>5886847
There was an episode on youtube. Cant find it now but it has been a year since I watched it.
>>5888531
The old keener queen, or if possible the hive playset work well enough. There is the revoltech as well. The neca is nice but huge next to joes. The funko one looks bad and is small.
There are options for a queen at least.

why is there an english dub but not toys in the US?
Does anyone have the True Heroes Armored Vehicle with Launching Bridge set? I'd greatly appreciate any opinions on it, given the current sale.
Anyone here into the Marauder's Inc online figures? Perfect for GI Joe customs.
>>5890643
We know.
>>5890643
>>5890643
>>5890716
Absolutely, though I tend to use their gear and guns to upgrade my Joes & Cobras. The upcoming options for male and females is greatly anticipated for me.
>>5890354
not enough interest, likely because the cartoon has no outlet in the US.
If it ever gets picked up, you'd likely see the toyline.
Are there any forums or fb groups that discuss the power team elite military base?
It's an amazing toy release yet I hear very little buzz about it.
>>5891072
really too bad. Id easily by multiples of that robo mastiff, apc, and hoverbike thing.
Figures don't look too bad either though the bright blue is kinda wacky.
The corps has this playset coming out eventually. Looks pretty fun.
>>5891152
>power team elite military base?
The new Quonset hut or the old base
>>5875510
I believe the main theory is that it would take too long to get the sculpting done on new heads so they just kitbashed the lot of them you have to remember this was supposed to be the last FSS before the club ended.
>>5875965
You mean by doing what every customizer and person said they wanted in a Raptor figure when PoC Zartan came out. Raptor looks great and way better than he has any right to.
>>5875746
Best thing is he'll drive down the market on 2012 Darklon so people like me can get their hands on him.
>>5893351
I couldn't give a fuck what some basement-dwelling idiots who mix up their figure parts do. I'd rather have a figure that's a proper visual update or not one at all. This half-asses it with some claw feet and the Jungle Viper's leaf coat. Rather just buy the original off eBay than put up with this lazy shit. It' snot like they don't have proper feet or couldn't cut a cape out of softgoods, they just spent 5 minute son this and called it quits, because as usual, they think "Oh well, these addicted fuckers will buy it anyway, so why out in any effort"?
>>5892857
wait for the updated figure.
>>5893080
I don't usually like The Corps stuff, but that's a pretty sweet cliff-face. It would look great with just a little paint.
>>5893484
Aw yis.
>>5893446
>>5893351
The first updated Raptor figure Hasbro did is the best.
>>5870489
Does any other store sell Power Team Elite? Checked the local Big Lots but the toy section stinks. A couple PTE things but mostly smaller vehicles. One big helo and some smaller vehicles. Really want that quonset hut.
There's a shitload of dollar stores here, so I was hoping it's not just Big Lots. There's another Big Lots in the town where I go to work that I haven't checked yet either. Kind of hoping that my local just didn't do a christmas toys reset yet.
>>5894183
Big Lots will get more PTE stock as it gets closer to Christmas. It always dwindles down in the off months.
>>5894183
It's still a bit early for the new stuff to be out imo. Give it a month or two and it may show up. The recolored battlefield set showed up last year.
>>it's a G.I Joe will dare episode
Last week I got both main mechs from the Titanfall game made by K'nex and after a few paint touch ups I'm really happy with how this is turning out. And they really fit in nicely as 1/18th scale equipment. The atlas titan is a no brainer as an arctic battle/exploration mech
>>5895732
Here's the other one, the Ogre mech. I still have to start working on him paint-wise but it's got potential as a heavy support battle mech
>>5895732
What did Atlas look like to start?
>>5895747
Just a bunch of colorful pieces as the skeleton so had to paint them all different shades of grey and some metallic. Also planning on adding some light weathering to the armor pieces and some cables to the limbs
>>5895761
Man that Orange and Yellow really does hurt it.
>>5895768
Yeah it looks ridiculous. Like a strange combination of a robot model and a Lego set. But once you slap some paint on it, it really starts looking great. It will really look grwat once I glue some cables ond the hips and hands
>>5873064
FINALLY about to get this order, unless the storm delays it further.
Only a little over two months.
>>5873064
I ordered in July. Let me know when you get your stuff, mine ll hopefully follow.
>>5896105
At least its getting there, I guess. Only reason I dont bother with custom stuff is my own impatience.
Now if only big lots will get in that damned new pte playset so I can buy a couple.
>>5898217
yah
>>This prototype was displayed as one of the cards in the G.I.Joe 30th Salute Trading Card set.
>>"As the GI Joe television show gained popularity in the early 1980s, Hasbro made plans to introduce a black female character to the team. Market research showed that female characters, especially Lady Jaye, Scarlett, and the Baroness, appealed to the GI Joe TV audience. However, this project was dropped when Hasbro decided that female action figures would be poor business, and the character was never given a name."
>>5894754

Too many crookssss!
>>5895732
Does the cockpit actually open up and can it fit the 1:18 figure?
>>5902356
The Orge will fit any GI Joe as long as you leave the seat out.
Never visited >>>/toy/ before nor have I bought toys since I was like 10. I don't know why but this thread is making me want to buy a bunch of realistic military figures and take pictures of them in realistic fights/settings.
>>5902428
That's how it starts.
Heads up, the M1A2 is still 40% discount off.
>>5902428
you might want to pick up one of those pose skeletons as a gateway drug.
>>5890976
Oh shit. I want those guys. What exact figure and parts did you use?
>>5902443
The fever, the rage, the feeling of nostalgia. That turns good men... into collectors.
>>5902344
what line is that Arkham knight figure from?
>>5904027
Mattel's DC Multiverse line. It covers DC movies and games (specifically the Batman Arkham ones).
It's not the best line but it's one of the only few DC 1/18 lines we've got.
They have since abandoned the 4" scale and used the line for BvS, Suicide Squad 6" figures.
>>5903475
I honestly feel like a hoarder at this point. So much crap all iver the place. Boxes if parts and figures Ill never touch. Big huge aircraft and playsets to store.
>>5902767
where?
>>5904290
Toys R Us, if you're lucky enough to have one that stocks the goddamn thing.
I'm not, if you couldn't tell.
>>5904492
recently bought one at Ross for $15 and thinking of buying another.
It's huge and i already have enough junk like this guy >>5904178 buuuuuut.... it's a fucking Abrams and when do you see one just operating alone? He needs a buddy or three.
Also, i went today and they didn't have a sale price or anything to show it was cheaper than $40.
>>5904504
Oi, don't get me started on Ross. I don't really need a 1:18 Abrams, I've got rotary wing shit taking up space as it is.
>>5903001
Not that guy, those figures are Cobra Troopers v15, Pursuit of Cobra (POC) and 30th Anniversary lines. The heads and gear are Marauders Gun Runners.
Hasbro re-released these figures 2 years ago, in the 50th Anniversary line. The closes thing now are the TRU exclusives, Shock Troopers, (if you can find them) but they have a darker hue and different legs.
>>5904517
Thanks bruv.
Been eyeing the 30th anniversary viper, but 30 bucks is a little rich for a mass produced 1:18. The box set with him was 100 if I recall on bbts.
>>5905122
Hasbro is releasing the viper again, in the 50th anniversary line, in November.
>>5905141
> that viper and grenadier
> tohse zombie vipers
That is actually pretty fucking hype
>>5904178
Same here. I have 2 unopened Skystrikers, Jetfire, and tons of figures. Plus almost all my vehicles, and at least half my figures are in stored in boxes.
>>5905122
>30 bucks
Yeah, they are milking the cow while they can.
Is there any good 1:18 horses? I want to make a cool war horse of some kind
>>5905415
The most articulated horse is from Indiana Jones by Hasbro a few years back when Crystal Skull came out. Power Team Elite has a horse too. If you don't care about articulation, maybe Breyer or Schliech will have what you need.
>>5905415
>>5905463
The Hasbro one is really good, but isn't cheap these days. Power Team Elite was cheaper but more simple and less detailed, they had 2 or 3 sets with the same horse .
>>5905518
Have a Schelich saddle waiting for one of those
>>5905415
I recommend the hasbro horse
The World Peacekeepers stuff is legit fun.

>>5907925
Firebat from the 25th Anniversary line.
Legends of the west announced their kickstarter campaign for October.
>>5907985
I'll definitely be in for a few of these.
I'm really looking forward to combining some of these with some BATs. I love robo-cowboys.
And I hope they offer a Wild Bill analog/homage. He's always needed a better figure.
>>5902638
Fairly well, just the articulation itself is a little weird comparing to normal figures. But hey, they look awesome. Did some minor paint and detail work on the atlas to make it look nicer
>>5907985
NO one cares
>>5905122
>>5890976

Has anyone bought the Thunderbirds are Go figures? They're allegedly 1:18 scale so if they are, The Hood is a new option for business-suit bodies. Thoughts?
>>5908658
Might be a bit too small. Found this picture of Hood next to a Marvel Universe Beast.
>>5909032
Kawaii Professor X
Checked the Big Lots of the town where I work and still no sign on the quonset hut sets(I know it's still early). They did have one of the big battlefield sets for $40 but I decided to pass.
They have a Christmas section already but just decorations. Plenty of room in the toy section to add stuff though, I'm thinking/hoping the reset is soon.
>>5907985
>Legends of the west
I don't see how they're going to be able to fund their Kickstarter without a buttload of army builder figures. Maybe those are ones they haven't shown yet(Cavalry? Indians?).
>>5907985
It woudl be nice if this was a thing but honesty with the record that Broken Arrow Toys has..
I'll wait till the 2nd order cycle after it gets funded.
IF it gets funded.
IF after kickstarter sales get delivered.
>>5908047
Do 1/6 scale weapons fit the mechs? That was one of the neat things about the Avatar AMP suits
>>5909276
The way I understand it, Cav and Indians are items for theoretical wave 2 and beyond.
>>5909123
That battlefield set makes a great background piece with a little paint.
Honestly, their figures are shit, but PTE is such a great resource for Joe-scale figures. They're pretty great. And the figures are good enough for goods, so that's fine too.
>>5909482
I purchased the battlefield set recently and was actually pleasantly surprised by the articulation on the figures. I'm gonna toss some VvV-era Joe heads on some of 'em because they make great generic soldiers outside of SAMEFACE syndrome.
The bike is damn near perfect for Captain America. Functionally superior to Hasbro's effort which doesn't even rotate the front wheel left and right. Ever so slightly small but manageable.

Have the xenos. Pretty nice. Tempted to get the Marines soon. Have spotted the xenos at a local comic shop for $25 each.
Dc figs have showed up at my local tuesday morning. Had some jurrasic world stuff too. A couple funko figs too.
>>5913426
I own all four xenos and the three marines. The xenomorphs look nice, but are a bit fragile. The marines look like shit. It is mostly the painted on skin looks real thick and gummy. I knew before buying that they don't look like the actors at all, so that doesn't bother me too much. The helmets are not really accurate since they're missing the armored piece that covers the back of the neck. Pulse rifles look good. Smartgun looks tiny and looks strange without a steadycam harness.
score!

>>5914102
That tent set looks pretty good.
>>5914102
Which set did that little duffle bag come with?
>>5913817
>>5913426
I think the Marines are done really well, but they're made of really rubbery plastic like Acid Rain figures. So things like the light on the shoulder are just shoved against the body like some sort of cord. You'll have to definitely use hot water to fix any issues, which i haven't done so far
And yes, the guns do look undersized, but not enough to look bad or wrong.
I'm scared of breaking my aliens. Disassembled one and haven't put it back together, because the pegs are so rubbery and don't want to go in.
I have no clue where my marine is

Actually took another look. It looks to be stuck between the ass and torso section. Should come off with some work. I may try it and attempt to make a pair of wings for him when Im feeling better. Can maybe buy a 2nd for $5 at the tuesday morning nearby if I mess it up.
>>5918499
Scheuldes, you can't just come to the factory with the designs in your portafolio, you have to reunite with lot of people and they are not there for you all the time, you have to see a person, and he says to see him in three weeks.
The Civil War 3.75" Black Panther's nice, but they didn't even bother to give him the traditional Hasbro foot holes.
>>5917895
I need to get one so I can try the belt's fit with some Hasbro bucks. I've got a perfect Batman Beyond head from a Happy Meal toy that looks tons better than these "Bruce as Beyond" figures they've put out.
Pic related, I used the one on the far left, the front and center one has a nice wingpack though. They are 1:18 but unposeable af.
>>5918615
Why doesn't one of the more agile and acrobatic Marvel characters have restricted articulation:
Hasbro didn't wanna.
>>5919137
These days it's a choice between MCU details or naked-black-man. The CW panther has that gorgeous suit design at least.
>>5918940
>alternate head
Sounds like a good idea. One thing that bugs me about Arkham City Batmen is their narrow, squished heads.
>>5919205
Indeed, but I hope the articulation restrictions we're dealing with are gone by the time of the next Spidey line.
>>5919205
>>5918615
one of the nice things about Marvel movies is that their designs aren't godawful and look like they actually belong in the comics.

>Not getting Panther and a Greatest battles Bullseye and blending parts.
Seriously. Mine has white boots with black stripes. Doesn't matter it's Bullseye's, it's nice to have some detail to break up the all-black bleh-ness.
>>5918940
Youll probably have to cut the belt to get it to fit. It has a flat part that fits in between the torso and but. Like a skirt almost.
>>5919424
I got a feeling that when Hasbro launches the ROM, MASK, and Micronauts lines again we'll see articulation return to 4 inch.
So Shouldn't we be seeing some leaked images of the TRU stuff from China soon? This downtime is killing me.

No prob. Im guessing the reasonnthe new 50th wave has a couple months delay conpared to last year is probably due to moving plants. My theory anyway. They may still use China factories.
If quality improves and they stop painting derpy eyes, all for the better.
>>5922340
i dunno, SW 3.75" black series and Marvel 3.75" are still made in china.
If they do get made in vietnam or india, hopefully we'll see more articulation and paint apps, i.e. the labor intensive stuff.
http://www.cbr.com/exclusive-preview-idws-new-g-i-joe-1-with-character-designs-and-more/ thoughts on the new IDW book?
>>5923332
GI Joes are made in a different factory than MU figures. It's why they have different engineering/plastics/materials despite both being 1:18 scale.
Also, anything out right now would have been produced about 3 months ago.
Overseas manufacturing has a really really shitty lag time.

I'm happy that the IDWverse hasn't been wiped away. I'm one of the few (seemingly) who liked it, though I wish they hadn't killed Copperhead.

I missed out on most of it before but right now IDW/Hasbro is uniting the Transformers and G.I. Joe comics into the same canon along with Action Man, Rom, M.A.S.K., and the Micronauts and relaunching G.I. Joe right after the big crossover is over.
>>5926934
so it's probably gonna be "fuck the comics, I'm in it for the toys." It looks a bit like as shared universes are shite.
>>5926992
It's been alright. It's mostly just been G.I. Joe cameos and comments about "those robots in monument valley" and one issue of Revolution so far and Rom fucked some shit up real bad. Kinda eager to see what happens next. Don't like how G.I. Joe has been relatively useless and needlessly aggressive so far though.
Who did this?
I was outbid the last second.
>>5926934
>>5927081
I don't understand why "shared universe" has to mean "cram everything in together all at once" universe. It's not like G.I. Joe and Transformers haven't been crossing over since the 80's, and Hasbro casually made Matt Trakker part of G.I. Joe already.
My only real hope out of all of this is that we might get updated Star Brigade aliens out of ROM some day.
>>5928533
It seems alright so far but I'm hoping it's more than "lol Dire Wraiths did it" like it seems right now.

>>5929505

>>5932901
I need hasbro to re-realese these guys, my cobra army only has the 25th version
>>5926764
ARAH is basically a containment book for Hama and old school fans who flat out reject the IDW-verse at best, at worse basically exists so that IDW can keep the GI Joe license by having one GI Joe book being published after the IDW-verse crashed and burnt when they fucekd up IDW Cobra Civil War as badly as they did.
>>5927081
GI Joe is being "soft-rebooted". Basically the IDW series happened (in broad strokes) but now happened after the events of All Hail Megatron. Oh and Mainframe now basically looks and dresses like Dial Tone (though with a goatee instead of a porn stashe), in a bit of shameless pandering to those fans who shitted on Girl Dial Tone.
Cobra's no longer around and MASK big bad VENOM In Name Only* and the Dire Wraiths are being set up as Cobra's replacement since IDW fucked up Cobra so fucking badly that it's pretty much off-limits until they can find a way to unfuck themselves and bring back a Cobra Command that actually LOOKS and ACTS like Cobra Command. Until then, we have to settle for Storm Shadow now being an Action Man villain and Miles Meyham as a Poor Man's Cobra Commander replacement......
*They've retconned Miles into being a founding member of GI Joe/BFFs with Joe Coltron, along with turning Sly Rax into a clean shaven Asian man. And Matt Tracker is now a black man and Gloria's Hispanic while the other canon Hispanic MASK member (Julio) is the only minority member of MASK who hasn't been purged from the reboot version of Mask.
>>5926764
Hama's book is unaffected by Revolution. As the other guy in this thread said, its a containment book for old-fags who can't accept any new interpretation of the franchise.
>>5934896
There was a rerelease 2 years ago. Still, would be nice to see a 2 pack or something a little easier to troop build them with.
Hoping to see that quonset hut at big lots soon. If not I may have to order one online for myself.
>>5937154
I'd love a re-release in a double up two-pack but with different accessories.
Give him the Resolute trooper helmet and para viper goggles as options along side the Cobra Combat Ninja balaclava and helmet.
Have a SHocktrooper vest and Beachhead's Retaliation 3-pack chest rig as torso options along with the usual 25th trooper and officer's.
Weapons would be the AK-47 from the Ulitamte Retaliation movie Duke painted up like the one Zanya got in the Dreadnok 7-pack. The SHocktrooper AKA-tacticool, the COmbat Ninja's bullpup AK kit variant, an= painted RPG and the pistol and knife for the sheath.
>>5936354
All they have to do is give us a Cobra Commander who isn't Krake. Pretty simple task in itself.
>>5936354
Cobra wasn't fucked up Cobra was actually acting like a global force of Terror instead of the cartoon villains they had been for most of Hama's run. Tomax was the "Face" of Cobra with CC being the power behind the throne.
>>5928533
But Revolution is the "Crossover" event so they have to come together things will go back to regular stories after with little things peppered in between (G.I.Joe is getting a Transformer)
>>5928575
Dire Wraiths are just manipulating events from behind the scenes should be interesting to see where it goes.
Next Crossover will be "Return of Cobra" with God knows what kind of crazy shit going on. you can bet me on that.
>>5938035
after Xamot's death I was hoping Tomax would go off right proper. you know.. long and entirely believable conversations between the brothers and points where he was out of the room and Tomax's comments to him could have been mistaken for perfectly legit comments to people actually there.
It's sad it fucked itself.
I REALLY liked the Chuckles miniseries.
>>5938295
I thought Tomax's rise to power was a great use of the character without his brother's bloodlust and insanity he was free to become a member of the inner circle and we still don't know what happened between the Cobra files and Fall of G.I.Joe so him being head..."Face" snake is still unexplored.
does any one have Elite Force Marine Recon figures? how do they compare in size to gijoes? they get lumped in with 1/18 but I've read that they are 4" and not 3.75".
also, any suggestions for 4-4.25" modern soldiers? what about vehicles that are slightly large for 3.75" figures?
>>5938324
They are 4", yes. GREAT sculpting let down by poor articulation. Accessories go well with joes. Recommended for how cheap they are.
>>5938324
They're plain shit.
I believe they are 4", but that matches up with Hasbro's 1:18 scale. 6' = 4", so it's more true to life.
Anyway, they're really shit figures, worse than Peacekeepers crap. They're all hollow feeling and their joints feel like you're always going ot tear it off, because the plastic sticks together like a stuck joint.
Buy them only if you want cheapo basic background pieces, because their articulation is worse than Corpshit. They have great sculpts and good paint, but i wouldn't really recommend them. They are not fun to play with or pose.
>>5938358
>basic background pieces
this guy from that pack is even named "Cannon", as in "cannon fodder".
>>5938324
Their best value is if you're a customizer. They're not up to Bbi's old quality, but they're a gold mine for parts. Teika (now Hiya) did a set of 1:18 of 101st Airborne figures. Articulated like modern G.I. Joe figures, you really just need to replace the weapons and head sculpts.
More specifics about what kind of vehicle(s) you're looking for? You might be surprised what's available for properly scaled, yet figure-compatible vehicles out there.
>>5938572

>>5938587

U.S. Army has some jeeps like >>5938356
>>5938587
Expensive:
21st Century toys did a WWII Willys jeep, as well as Vietnam era+ M151 MUTTs in three flavors. Bbi, Unimax and 21st Century Toys all did HMMWVs, in various configurations.
Cheap:
Power Team Elite. These show up every holiday season at a close-out retailer called Big Lots. They do HMMWVs in a couple different configurations, and they have a jeep/trailer combo that gets the job done. Perfectly serviceable vehicles, though the larger the vehicle type the more "off" the scale is, which I'm thinking isn't gonna be an issue here.
Speaking of Big Lots and PTE, they've started putting them out. No mobile SAM, no Quonset hut.
>>5939239
Nice. But yeah, I hope we see some of the bigger sets as we get closer to Christmas. Especially that quonset hut and the big helicopter.
They had the Black Hawk and the Z-9 (rocket attack helicopter), the big bombed out building in tan and grey, HMMWV soft top, the open bed version was also on the modular print out, so I assume that will be on the shelf soon, too. Also had the regular Type 92 IFV, though the modular photo showed a white/grey camo similar to the tracked HMMWVs from a few years back.
What else..oh, the ChiCom copy of the Argo Avenger 8x8 comes in a mid-sized set with an ATV, now, and they have (I think) 8-figure packs. Looked like regular green camo dudes and wet suit divers.

Aw man, if it's 1:16 then Bruder is the best you can get. They feature scary German engineering filled with loads of details and gimmicks. Like, some of their vehicles not only have steering, they have steering-wheel-steering, i.e the steering wheel turns along with the front wheels. It's a shame they only deal with urban/farm/work vehicles and the like.
Ok pulled the trigger and bought Stonefist and one of the non madusa sisters from BBTS hope these are actually good and not overrated like the MTF stuff.

In what shitty country with bootleg only toys do you live in?
This is basically a standard with larger scale cars since forever.
>>5940534
sorry, I misspoke. 1:16 is actually larger than what I need, it's more something ridiculously off scale like 1:17. it's a shame because there are so many good options on either side. oversized 1:18 vehicles will likely work though, so I'm looking into True Heroes stuff.
>>5940381
Drednok WMD!
>>5940585
TRU's True Heroes' stuff are by a HK company called Chap Mei (google it). They used to have their own Military/Dinosaur/Medieval toylines with 1/18 compatible but it seems like they are now just contracting their molds out to various toy companies. The U.S. army vehicles and playsets, like this jeep are Chap Mei too and tend to have better colors than TRU's.
Chap Mei's quality varies. Some are quite hollow, pic related is one of the better ones. Their larger vehicles like tanks, their submarine, their osprey and >>5875298 are usually shrunken versions of what they are supposed to represent.
>>5938693
Wish I could buy anything cheap here, but with shipping recently they ends up as much as expensive ones.
>>5940616
yup, that's what I'm looking into right now (True Heroes and US army/marine stuff). That jeep's interior in your post is pretty well proportioned to 1:18 figures but is externally larger than it should be.

I'd agree with you on MASK, but VENOM's hardly in name only. Mayhem being the Sea Adventurer was cute, and I didn't get the impression that Rax was Asian, just that he's a pasty fucker.
Miles is still a MASK founder who's going to betray them to terrorists, and he, Rax and Vanessa are pretty in character.
>>5936354
