How does /lg/ recommend I go about creating an Ashley J. Williams minifigure?
1.) What hairpiece should he use? I think Supes would be a great fit.
2.) What torso should he use?
3.) How would his chainsaw hand be replicated?
4.) How would his shotgun be replicated?

Hey guys, I'm planning to buy this set, what are your thoughts about it?
>>
>>5858764

Will our thoughts influence your decision?
>>
>>5858763
More tables with junk, half-finished droids, etc.
Maybe include some non-bot parts that look like wires and tubing, etc raw materials?
>>
>>5858773
Perhaps, I like Lego and Tomcats, but if the set is shit I might hold out for something better.
>>
>>5858763
Line the walls with boxes and crates of junk. Just pile some bricks in the corner but don't push them down all the way. Maybe a few things in the foreground.
>>
>>5858763
need some shit hanging from the wall and ceiling

chains, tool kits, etc.
maybe put a grate on the wall or some ladders propped up behind the robots
>>
>>5858775
I like how that sounds. Let me dig for parts
>>
>>5858425

Personally, I just didn't like the curves.
>>
>>5858764
Decent parts pack if you're into bright light orange.
>>
>>5858764
good source of bricks but very basic parts generally; the canopy parts were first used in "lego racers" i think so good to get hold of a few unique parts.
with enough imagination and other lego sets you can make a better jet than shown on the box.
>>
>>5858789
>>5858790
I'm recently getting back to Lego so I really don't care about the parts, just about the overall set.

But thanks for the input anyway.

Get 4953 instead if you don't already have it; it's bigger, radder, and has the same sweep-wing feature but done better. It also has a landing gear, which is something quite a few Creator planes have been lacking lately.
>>
>>5858795
It was in my sights as well, problem is I can't get it as easily as this one and I can't really afford it right now, since I'm mostly buying small sets or getting polybags.

It's the same problem I had with 31039.
>>

>>
>>5858829
I meant moreso add the tables at the center of the room, a workshop should be moreso crowded than spacy imo, what with half-ideas and spare parts floating around and whatnot.

The tools hung up on the racks are a nice touch. Maybe use (a) larger plate(s) for tables, and have it more cluttered with studs and tools and shit? Kind of thinking of the sandcrawler and Watto's place from Star Wars, but not sure what sort of setting you were going for

Look at any of the scenes in the OG trilogy where it was droids doing droid things in droid shops (IE: the junk room in the jawa sandcrawler or Jabba droid torture room), there were bot parts all over the place, piles of droid parts and droid in various states of disrepair, pretty much you want that little room to look like a tech hoarders wet dream.

I think IM2 is the worst one, tbqh. 3 was way better. (It could've used more of the Mandarin's bumper-car, though.)

3 loses just because of two things.

The shitty bait and switch with the mandarin

and emo tony ripping his arc reactor out in the end and destroying his suits because of "muh pepper pot" who ended up leaving him anyway.

Really wish they had went with "super alcoholic tony makes a sex tape with another hero that gets leaked and becomes a laughing stock" instead.

That's why their prices are so fucking high.

But what GW does hate, is other people playing with their things. Hell you don't even have to play with them, GW will hate the fuck out of you just because they think you're looking at their stuff. Like for example, the kids eBook author they sent a cease and desist letter to, because she wrote a book about a Space Marine (In this case, a modern day marine having adventures in space).

Got the Spiderman & Ghost Rider set yesterday and it's pretty neat, but I still don't understand whi TLG is still trying to make super jumpers a thing.
They even added a page in the instruction booklet that teaches you how you should remove the minifig from the jumper piece.

Are the fuckers simply just blaming the consumer for the gradual minifig damage these jumpers do?

Same here. Pretty healthy stock at 3 or 4 of the Wal-Marts I check regularly. I think the only question is how long will they sit before the stores decide to clear them out. LEGO product seems to have it's own math when it comes to clearance. I suspect that the other GB'16 toys will be long gone by the time mark downs on Ecto-1 '16 commence.

You could always buy the whole sheet and the parts to make the counter parts with the stickers. Then you sell the stickered parts and make your money back. Or just cut the sheet up and sell off the good ones. Who doesn't want a 1 x 2 tile with a "DICK" sticker?

From what I've heard the new Ecto-1 is a better build than the original which required modding to be able to sit the whole team IIRC so at least the set itself is well done. And you can always use the fleshie heads and hair pieces for new characters, or at least that's what I would do.

Commentary on the movie itself is obvious bait and off-topic so let's leave it at that.

Hello everyone.

Well, I've turned a corner in life and haven't bought Legos in months. I think I'm free of the addiction. I don't even want the ones I own and I have a LOT of Legos at home.

Other than that I have pretty much everything from the last 2 years. I live right by a Lego store so I bought damn near everything.

Why?
>>
>>5860332
You must find a space. If you can't find one, then make one. A life void of lego, is a life full of regret.
>>
>>5860349
When I first moved to LA from the Midwest, I felt isolated and in need of order in my life. For some reason Lego filled that void. I would buy big expensive sets almost every weekend to make myself feel better.

Can't truly say what did it. Might be that I started getting out there in the dating game a bit, but one day I looked at all of the Legos I had in my apartment and said to myself "I could lose ALL of these and not care in the slightest." It was a weird moment. I had depended on Legos for so long to get me through my hard, lonely, anxiety-ridden life but something changed in me.

This isn't to say that people who collect Legos are also all as fucked up as I was. I just lost interest in continuing the hobby.

while I'm tempted to buy a shit ton of stuff from you, I must go against my lowest, brickest instincts and advice to you the same as the other anons have.
Store them,
if that pussy is THAT good you'll end up marrying her and knocking'er up. I wish you the best of lucks btw.
I got to say LEGO is, even after losing plastic quality, a fun, cool toy to have, and even to pass on.
Maybe one day, when you're older, wiser and a father, you'll decide to pick them bricks up, and along with your children, rediscover your love for building through them, watching them have fun and living once again some dear memories you might still have by then.
You know you have sets that are worth hundreds of bucks, and will only keep on getting more and more expensive as the years go by. You're sitting on a gold mine economically as well as sentimentally and potentially fun as well. Don't let that go, the money you have spent on those sets is a lot, and maybe you can make your investment back, maybe you won't, but the truth is, some things are worth more than money. You can count on those for a rainy day, either economically or any other kind.
If you're planning on selling them to plan a trip, or something possibly bigger, we understand, after all, it's the decisions we make that make a man out of us all.
If you do plan on selling, you know you have a legion of brick lovers right here, willing to pay for their crack, and you know those bricks would be in good hands, but once again, I advice you not to. Like that old saying says: "You don't know what you have until it's gone".
I'll just leave that thought to you, I know you'll make the best choice and we all support you no matter what.
tl;dr don't do it, maybe you might regret it later
>>
>>5860315

just got this one the other day, wish the finished product were a little bigger, and the other jet you can build with it is disappointingly small. main model looks good on the shelf though. wouldnt be too hard to get some wheels on it to prop it up a little bit

You could start by attaching all the 2x4s together. Then the 2x2s and so on. It takes a good amount of time to get everything sorted out. I also use small cardboard boxes and bags to hold things.

Also, I started by removing the larger pieces first. Mountains, boulders, sharks, allidiles, everything removed into a box for larger things. Then another box for bricks, another for plates. And another for tiny things like 1x1 plates, 1x2 things with bits, etc.

I hope they are only changing out the figures but then again I wouldn't mind rebuying the new one with a better design to cannibalize the old one for parts.

I also wonder how the old ones price is affected, it was on sale for years so it shouldn't be rising by much. I will never be able to sell it though due to having mismatched and sold nearly all of the figures and getting water on the instructions.

it's not even the same thread posted before, wtf are you guys doing over there?

Anyways, I've been negotiating a trade of rare pieces in the last few days. The guy is a collector of everything Lego and rare, from ancient wood and metal toys, to glued legoland models, to marbled pieces (system, techninc and even those giant PRIMO bricks), to common pieces in unreleased colors.

But I'm not that kind of collector, I just want USEFUL stuff for mocs and I feel like he's pushing me to select things from the list he's already shown. What would you pick?

So far I have selected one misprinted head, ne of those white "test" heads, but only because they are kind of expensive. A few marbled pieces that could fit a moc, but not 2x4 bricks because those go for insane prices among 2x4 collectors and the guy would ask too much for them, a red metal detector, possibly red and green wagon wheels... I'm pretty sure he has more but he is tired of taking pics by now. Should I keep squeezing him?
