Hello, I have questions regarding the August superhero sets.

1. Is the plastic of lesser quality than is to be expected from Lego? I have heard rumors, you know.
2. I was really only thinking about buying the Tanker Truck Takedown, but it's not yet in stores where I live. It will arrive, but I don't know when. Would it be quicker to just order it directly from Lego?
3. Ordering just one set of that size will not grant me free shipping, but buying both it and the Sanctum Sanctorium will. Is it worth it?
4. Should I decide until after I have seen the Dr. Strange movie with ordering/opening the Sanctum Sanctorium?

I got it on sale for about 77 bucks total during the May the 4th sale, and it also came with a poster and First Order Stormtrooper minifig.

The ship itself is pretty damn good, but I'd highly recommend getting a discount on it if you can, as 90 dollars is a bit steep. The build is satisfying and challenging at times, so you really have to pay attention, but when it's done it really feels like a big set that's worth the money. It has some play features if you're into that, but even without them it's still the absolute best rendition of the Sith Infiltrator to date. I often find myself picking it up and just flying it around because it's so damn fun.

The minifigs are great. Qui-Gon with his poncho and Maul would have been enough, but you also get Anakin and Watto (Who was only available in the 2012 podracing set I believe). Maul's face looks kind of goofy though, but I personally don't mind.

It also comes with a brick separator. Overall, it's a pretty good deal, but like I said I highly recommend getting it at a discount.

Eclipsegrafx sucks compared to Citizen Brick. Most of Eclipsegrafx stuff is printed using a shitty UV printer and the ink dries in a raised texture on the surface. Citizen Brick uses the same press and ink that Lego uses for a much cleaner more seamless look. Plus Eclipsegrafx keep stealing ideas from Citizen Brick and doing them in a shittier design.

In my area they've come and gone at most of the Wal-Marts, and TrU has sold through their single case. Brick Seek claims Target has CMFs, but I've not seen any. The rest of the world is looking at a September 1 release date, I imagine there are a few stores in the states waiting for it as well.

Just spent a few hours building the 7964 Republic Frigate I bought secondhand. It's a shame somebody with the fine motor control of a horse put the stickers on already, but not really a big issue overall.

It was pretty fun to build though, and should give me plenty of hours of messing with the details of to try and improve some of the interiors and external greebling.

What does /plastic crack/ think of 7-wide cars at minifig scale? Should I stick with the standard 6-wide except in extreme cases? Is the 8-wide setup Lego uses for the movie cars actually too wide, or does it just happen to work out because the cars in question are fucking land barges (i.e. the Ecto-1 Cadillacs)?

It's neat how you can chart the progression of hand-me-downs with this collection. The kid who sold it to me was 15-16, and the most recent pieces are Agents stuff from 2009-2011, probably the last stuff he got before his dark age. There are also some first-gen Star Wars pieces from the late 90s-early 2ks, some late 80-early 90s stuff that I recognize from my own childhood, and some pieces that are a lot older, like this late-sixties 3x2 train coupler.

I'll probably cut back on the height a little, got plenty of room for a control panel.

Should I feel ashamed for going back to lego after becoming an adult? I had so many lego sets as a kid and played with them all the time.

Last year on my bday I got some beer and an AT-AT just because, fuck it, I can afford it now. Soon after I got the TIE Advanced prototype...Excellent build.

Next thing I know I get the complete set of sets 4484-4487...not just one of each but two, so I could build all of them and keep a complete whole set new in box.

A few months later I bought the Legho Creator Lighthouse to put by the window at work because it just looks so dope. I watch JangBricks all the time and will probably get another Star Wars set when they announce thre stealth Tie Fighter coming out this fall/winter.

Cool. Well I can't recommend the tie advanced prototype enough.

The AT-AT was awesome as a first build in 10+ years, but it did feel a little samey with the legs.

When I built the Tie Adv. prototype I was like holy shit this is what Lego is like now? I remember building the clunky Y wing and Tie advanced first versions with my brother when we were younger. Fun at the time, but they don't hold up. And that original X wing...When it came out I lost my shit as an 8 year old, but compared to the T-70 out now it doesn't hold a candle design-wise
