One theory I have is its to "modernize" fortmax, much like how generations metroplex differs alot from his old city mode.

There was an article one seibertron that had an old magazine image with him (g1 fort max) in the very city mode he is in now with the TR version, I can't fucking find it but it could also be a homage to that.

Hell maybe they thought might prefer the bigger "base" mode look since he's all sprawled out.

Hasbro gave the deluxe masters toy accurate heads, takara gave us animation accurate heads whether we wanted them or not.

The only reason I think the hypothetical SDCC version would have the Master Sword is due to that SDCC 3 pack of Sentinel Prime, Windblade and Brainstorm.

On the packaging of that set Fort Max is clearly in it and he's got the sword.

Just to add fuel to the fire, TR PMOP's head doesn't need to pop off for him to transform. So the design team was capable of making better toys but chose not to.

Guess I'm too busy looking at scourge's face sculpt to ignore the back of the head kibble, being a skinny face doesn't help, and yes I agree 100% on galvatron and thus been on the fence on cancelling my pre-order.

The gimmick doesn't bother me, its the look and so far its galvatron with his crown that bothers me the most, I can forgive the rest if that's hard to believe.

Gotta say pm prime's is silly, the helmet covers the original titan master so anything stuffed there becomes PM prime

I'll admit, the alt-mode isn't much, especially without the crane staff (never, ever leave your TFs at your parents house before 'spring cleaning', I have no fucking clue what happened to it and neither do they), but I actually like the simple chunkitude of it, and the transformation is both simple and original, with touched like how the red part of the legs lines up when you fold the shins in half as well as those little blue tabs that join from the torso half to the leg half of the alt mode.

Actually, no, it can't. The deluxe class always has more figures released than the larger, more expensive classes, and the no-name characters are useful for filling those numbers out. The higher you go in terms of price point, the more the figures put out need to be either major characters, or offer a lot of repaint/remold possibilities, and guys like Apeface and Snapdragon simply aren't and don't.

To be fair, I don't really think IDW is shit, I enjoyed season one of MTMTE quite a bit, but they really aren't anything to write home about and after a while it becomes clear half the plot threads are made up as they go and and they're trying a good bit too hard to suck the dick of the side of the fanbase I'm really not a fan of which puts me at an odds to the content in it, said content eventually starts feeling quite repetitive and disjointed after following for long enough

I liked Crumplezone, and I wish I could get the primal version easily, but I wouldn't say he's my favorite. I really enjoyed the Sideways mold even though I had the ratbat version.

Oddly enough my personal favorite is GTX Ransack. he's beautifully colored, nicely articulated, and a bikeformer. I love the little guy.

True, especially if you're gonna buy him for just the wolf mode, since it's always the weakest mode in terms of looks in both the 3P and the original Sixshot.
