May building challenges:

> make your own Dimensions team based off of a new franchise
> create a new Music star/act for Legovision 2016, also include any instruments or stage props, and don't forget an awesome name
> wasn't there also something about animal vehicles
> build a vehicle or fleet worthy of riding into Valhalla, shiny and chrome
> greeble: remake any set or build something with an absurd amount of greebling
> build a mighty micro vehicle (any surface type)
> can may be mini moc madness month: spaceship edition? yes it can
> build a brick-built animal!
> make a stop-motion / multi-frame animation
>>
One more challenge: would people be interested in a seed part challenge? Everyone uses one part and make several different mocs with it. Ideally the part would be something in a mixel set so you could buy several easily
>>

The LEGO® Movie™ 4D A New Adventure is where the Clutch Powers 4D adventure thing was. I tried to get some pictures, but they weren't working at all.

SPOILERS---
The show starts out with the heroes from The Lego Movie all meeting back up and talking about how fun this reunion at Legoland will be. It turns out they got invited to be here, but here is actually 'Brick World' that is next door to legoland. As they decide it won't be so bad a micro manager pops out and kragles them. JK tho Lord business pops out and is like "Its lemon water, it isn't going to hurt you (but it kills electronics)." The heroes are all upset about Lord business still maybe being evil. He dispels the anger by saying he is Lord Business' brother, Risky. They make a joke about how his voice is cheaper. So now Risky, Benny, Metlabeard, Unikitty, Wyldstyle, and Emmit go into the brick world. It is all knock off rides, but each character has their own. Unikitty has like a pink area, Metalbeard has a Pirates of the Caribbean knock off, Benny has a spaceship ride, and Wyldstyle has a roller coaster based off that bike chase. Emmit also has a ride. It is something about eating breakfast with a plant. I forget the exact joke. The plant dances though. So, Metalbeard, Unikitty, and Benny rush off to ride the rides. Wyldstyle and Emmit stay with Risky for a bit longer and he mentions how he doesn't know how to be evil. They are kinda suspicious, but go on and ride the bike-coaster. At this point they are basically split up and Risky sends robots disguised as fake robots to put mind control devices on the heroes. He plans on using them in a stage show to bring in tourists. The end is basically Emmit singing to stall, but that plan doesn't work so they have the audience yell out where bricks are so they can build a micormanager to spray lemon water on the mind control device. The kids in the audience loved this part. They all shouted just like they were watching a huge version of Dora the Explora.

The other day I tried out those new bulbs I got last week, but one of them rattled when I shook it, and both of them didn't seem to work, so this morning I returned them and got two new ones, hoping they were just a bad batch. As I have now realized, the bulbs are fine, they're just misleadingly labeled.

The bulb on the left is the one I use for making parts glow, and it's worked great so I wanted to get more to be able to shine it from two sources at once. The one on the right is technically a "black light", as the bulb itself is coated with something to darken it, and the filament is made of something that glows pink instead of yellow (or maybe it's just the bulb coating that makes it look pink) but it's not putting out any appreciable light at any spectrum. The funniest part is when the store looked up the one on the left, their system knew what it was but then directed me to the one on the right. Looks like it's back to Amazon!

Anyway, point is if you want to get some lights for taking fun pictures of reactive parts, make sure you know what you're doing.

Haha, time for BANDS again. I'm not really knowledgeable of instruments but i love listening to them and building them. I'm not sure if these guys will enter the Legovision 2016 despite their diversity. They're even less organized than the Philadelphia philhamonic orchestra, a true mötley crüe (even if half the band thinks those suck too) Together they're so hardcore non-conformist, they didn't even decide on a name after playing together for 5 years. This meant that their first album was titled: "untitled - (selftitled)"
Their sound is best described as a cacophony of three "lead" guitars, two competing basslines, two "lead" singers who consider eachother backup singers (one of wich a true expressive screamer, the other one a soothing harmony), this all meets africanized d&b style drums with a random flute and trumpet thrown in here and there. Despite all this they usually leave the crowd entertained, albeit a bit confused. Especially when their soundman comes crashing down the rafters mid-show while looking for that one acoustic sweet spot.

The part has to be unusual or new enough to be interesting, so unless you choose a 2x4 brick, you're excluding someone.
Actually the brick separator is nearly perfect. If you've bought a large set in the last few years you will have one, but you've probably never built with it. I would have preferred a smaller piece though, and maybe one with more natural uses.

Speaking of which folks, May the 4th has started at Lego? Did you get yourself anything yet? Personally I went with pic related. Was on sale but still above 50. This. Just start with the basics. Sort your hoard into piles of similarly grouped pieces, then divide those up into more finely-sorted piles.

Avoid the temptation to sort everything by color. Sort by type.
>>
>>5642388
>Avoid the temptation to sort everything by color. Sort by type.
Or, do sort by color if it suits your building method. I sort by color and sub-sort by type and it works perfectly fine.

I have one of the T-800 minifigs from TLM that I use as an armored skeleton (as in, the bones are covered in metal). Black skeletons look cool and creepy, like maybe they're made in some sort of burning ritual or comprised of nothing but shadow and hate, but I understand if that's not your thing.

Am I correct in thinking that the only black skulls are angry faces, not just inverted versions of the classic happy skull?

It´s like they changed the guy doing the print template for astromechs sometime between 2010/12 and don´t care since then Or maybe I am extremely unlucky but I never had such huge problems with the older designs.

Went to the Patomac Mills LEGO Store today. Surprisingly, they had stock of every Star Wars set, even the dirt-cheap battle packs.

Scored the Battle of Takodana, AKA the TRAITOR set, three First Order Battle Packs, the Heavy Stormtrooper, the LEGO TFA Poster, the Series 15 Jewel Thief, 4 Disney CMFs for my mom the next time I see her, and they even let me use my 100 bonus VIP point coupon from the calendar.

Sorry for no pic or timestamp. First thing I had to do when I got home is take a shit.

Hey guys, what are some cars that you think could actually happen in Speed Champions?

Pagani Huayra
This would be a fantastic car to get in the rare dark red, and since the roof is also primarily glass, they wouldn't even need to print the windshield piece.

Dodge Challenger Hellcat
This would be perfect to get in either lime green or purple because those are flagship colors for the Hellcat, and we need more muscle cars.

Subaru Impreza WRX STI
This would be great because it opens up a massive window of opportunity for Speed Championship ms to include, other popular Japanese cars, but I pick the WRX specifically because the Dark Blue would be absolutely beautiful, the big gaping wang would appease my need, and we can get wheels and rims in pearl gold.
>>
>>5642130
Bag 2 is the structure housing the Batpoles. The whole process is so finicky and impresise that if you're not building on a flat plane with a roll of measuring tape, you're SOL.

Honestly, I can't say I really enjoyed building the Batcave. You might get a kick out of it if you're the sort of person who enjoys building rocks for 10+ hours, but I'm not.
>>

>>
>>5643320
Hey, only thing stopping lego from making them is their BS about violence, which is stupid because the star wars blasters are fantasy/scifi shit that only gun nuts or lore nerds like me would recognize as real guns with greeblies attached to them.

And considering lego made blasters that look legit for their MoS sets, and have even made pretty convincing tommy guns for their minis in the past, well, their NV bullshit is inconsistent.
>>

I also got another battle pack and the Battle on Takodana, plus the free Heavy Stormtrooper, but I'm saving those for my birthday.

>>5643314
I got a whole bunch from those battle packs.

But still, for original LEGO themes like Ultra Agents and The LEGO Movie, they're perfectly fine.

But in licensed themes like Star Wars, they just drive me to a shortage of regular blasters because I already gave a lot of them to my late 2000's Stormtroopers, my favorite of the Empire Storms.

Shit, I only gave that one black lieutenant becaus I already gave the rest of my blaster pistols with scopes to my old Han Solo and my Imperial TIE and AT-walker Pilots.

Eh, I understand the reasoning behind it, these are children's toys after all. If Lego included a seperate set of instructions (and possibly pieces) for aesthetic rather than playability and functionality, that'd be something.

I have the exact same thing anon. i just fuck around with pieces till i come up with some unspecific clever solution for something, then kinda build around that and see how it turns out after making it structurally sound. I prefer this method a lot more then lacking the 'feel' of structural integrity of bricks when working in ldd.

Just keep at it and think, time wasted on fiddling with your bricks isn't wasted when you're having fun.

Oh yeah that's right.
>>
>>5643808
If it was a character I was more into, I'd have probably been butthurt, but I've learned to live without. I just try not to let things I can get slip by anymore.

Also the Collector was at the end of the second Thor movie. (Not that anyone watched that.)

>>5643813
As long as it's not some damn exclusive like the Collector I'd be all over that. Shame there won't be an MCU movie about him, but that cameo was nice.
>>
>>5643792
Dang, you win

I'm literally out of building space, Lego everywhere, sorting's way overdue.

BUT I'LL BE BACK

I'LL BE BACK
>>
>>5643817
I think most people stopped being butthurt when Chinese companies began actively bootlegging the exclusives.

Frankly if you want to know something, IMO LEGO fucked up hardcore by making those SDCC exclusives so rare. The entry point for a lot of the bootleg buyers was trying to get affordable copies of the SDCC exclusives. Made the bootleggers a lot more sympathetic than they should be.
>>
>>5643817
The cameo was actually kind of a tie in for his comic reboot. The first picture released after that was of Howards office and there was a baby groot in a flower pot on his desk if I remember right, kind of a wink and nod to each other.

Also, his performance at the end of Thor 2 was what really got me interested in his MCU persona. Del Toro was so hammy in that that I was hoping to see more of him.

Here hoping we get a bit more as infinity war looms on....

Is it true a minifig will fit inside him mostly?

Completely, with some space left over.
>>
>>5643823
I'm still weird about bootlegs myself, but I can understand that situation. In general making stuff super rare and impossible for general people to get for a hobby that's huge is a bit dumb as is alienates a large amount of potential returning customers who give up when they can no longer reasonably keep up. That said, bootlegs might have been a lose-win for Lego as it gives an out for people to get the rare minifigs, without giving up on collecting the sets and making their own stuff. It's a strange world.

>>5643824
That's cool to hear about Howard. Nice to see when things keep connected and give nods to fans who follow in multiple mediums.

I'm also pretty sure the Collector will have a pretty sizable role in the coming movies. Definitely at least one good scene considering he still has the stone from Thor 2.

And maybe an excuse for a second minifig run of some sort.

>>5643837
This shark design demands an official Jaws set. Maybe one day.

Those poor figs. I saw couple of mangled bigfoot and some parts of the fly rattling around in the box.

I've heard this is a common problem in States, but never have I seen it happen here before
>>
>>5643842
I'm fairly sure there was Jaws set on the Ideas that made it pretty far, but Lego then deemed the license to be too violent for them.

Is there a market for the DVD/Blu-Ray Minifigs?

A local shop has a shitton of the Batzarro and Trickster DVDs for about $10 a pop. I wanted to pick some up to trade or something.
>>
>>5643939
Probably, but I doubt it's very big or really cost effective. Can always check bricklink and see what it's like.
>>
>>5643935
Which one? Cap's bike is S@H giveaway once may the fourth ends
>>
>>5643939
I've sold couple of those. I'd say they're worth between $10 and $15.

Been eyeing the Cosmic Boy as well, but it's not worth it when the dvd itself is priced at 14€.

There could be a Spider-man coming out of the shark's mouth. That would make it better.
