For a while, this was my weekend routine when I didn't have anything else to do. I'd swing by the Lego store, pick up a nice big set, pour myself a drink and build for hours while watching Netflix or something. Fuckin' zen.
>>
>>5604584

>>
>>5604617
I only have the crane left to build but I have watched a season and a half of the Simpsons while building the other sets. God that season 9 sucks.
Fuck doing this shit on my living room table though, it's even worse than building Lego on the carpet.
Also that F40 model is gorgeous, the level of detail is outstanding.
>>
>>5604627
>. God that season 9 sucks.
Really? I thought Season 9 was still pretty good. 10 is the last one I'll watch. 11 has some of the first episodes I straight-up hated.
>Also that F40 model is gorgeous, the level of detail is outstanding.
Awesome, it looked really good. I told my gf it would be a good idea for a Christmas present, but she must have forgot. B-day is coming up, but my real problem is that I'm running out of room for Lego sets
>>
>>5604646
The majority of episodes just pave the way for season 10's total suckage.
Make up some space, it's worth it. The model is sleek, compact and is a pleasure to build.

Can attest to the greatness of the F40. I had a chance to go to the US, visited a lego store and got it without thinking.
There are no Lego stores in my area so getting that particular set, let alone bulding it, was pure bliss.
>>
>>5604649
>>5604661
Damn you. I might disassemble some of my older sets and store them away, then. Last B-Day she got me the Ultra Agents spy truck which is the kind of set I would have killed for as a kid. I was always trying to build my own Lego spy theme, I was super into James Bond back then.
>>
>>5604668
I got that truck on clearance. So far I've only built the mech that comes with it. I was originally getting it for the parts but I guess I'll have to build it at least once.

>>5604679
UA was pretty good theme and I still kick myself for missing bunch of the sets, including the truck. Maybe one day. Since it flopped, they shouldn't be too expensive on BL in few years
>>
>>5604695
My main problem with the line is that it was too much vehicle-focused. Don't know about the previous agents line but I would have liked to have more scenery sets.

She's bought me a lot of Lego sets over the past few years. Kinda got me back into it.

As much as I like the fold-out command center deal, I would have loved if the back half of the truck had a big spy roadster that could drive up inside, like Knight Rider or Spy Hunter. That shit's my bread and butter. I suppose I can always re-design it someday. I feel weird about disassembling sets that I got as gifts, though.

The regular face looks pretty good, but the printing is a little off between the mouth and the cheek (if you don't know, Lego prints pieces in stages, so the cheek crease and the mouth are laid down at different times). It's not very noticeable on this side, but the printing on the mask is a little flaked. It seems like Lego's printing quality for minifig heads has gone down a little over the years, because a lot of my modern heads have more messy printing than ones from the '80s-90s.

The white flecks on the mask can be fixed with a marker, like the crook I performed plastic surgery on a couple weeks ago.
>>
File: b-side.jpg (77KB, 800x600px) Image search: [Google]
b-side.jpg
77KB, 800x600px
The back side is where the printing problems really show up. You can see how the printing is splattered around the mask (a common problem with modern-ish head printing), but the cheek creases are way off-center, with one of them being overlapped by the mouth itself.

This is actually a good thing for me, because I was debating removing the creases anyway, and the one being so far away from the mouth will make it a lot easier to get at.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with it, and I'm glad the other anon introduced me to Kickhouse. I am super jealous of your variant heads, and I'll be trawling Bricklink for any more that show up in the future.

as you can see the red and orange heads have some visible problems in their mouths, but that can be considered "standard" these days, the light flesh ones are incredibly good though.

#3 and #4 are the only ones I'm interested in. Looks like you were right about the crease printing being the same color for both yellow and light flesh.

The printing thing... I know it's not an issue because an eight-year-old who just wants to play with his Legos won't be bothered by this, but even in your pic I can see that parts of their teeth are flecked. I wish they could get a solid coat and enough surface gloss to keep it in place. That way my lifeguard ladies wouldn't look like they've been hanging out at the beach every day since the '90s.

Arctic Base Front 1.jpg
45KB, 768x432px
In the last thread I asked for some advice about how I should go about building an Arctic Base.
Decided to go with option 1 and just make a series of prefab buildings. I figure it's the best option as if I went with building a permanent structure I'd have to stop every time I ran out of bricks, where as a bunch of little buildings means I have most of the parts I need with each set I get.

Anyway, I ended up grabbing a second base camp and set about combining it with the one I already had, to create a main lab/office.
This is the end (or very, very close too) result.
There are a couple of pieces that are currently just place holders that I'll replace later. Also not sure about the roof of the left room (the rotating satellite dish), think I might change it.

So now, instead of a small hallway/lab with a door (and no steps) at the end, that leads into a rec-room/garage, I've reworked it to be two units, a lab and an office, separated by a hallway/entrance.

>>
>>5606993
That's a valid point. It's also cheaper. Then again, there is already a helicopter in the Prison Island set.
>>5606996
It's mostly to complete the villain lineup, and the two sets offer the same two villains (the fat prisoner and the brown-haired girl). The boat offers two new policemen, while the helicopter pilot is a dupe of one in the Prison Island, but he looks pretty generic anyway. If anything, getting a home base for the villains is an argument for the set with the fewer figs.

So, uh, that's another feature that I had no idea existed until you mentioned it just now. I'm even more excited about the set. (I hadn't watched any videos about it and I didn't build it myself (though I will disassemble it and do that at some point).)

I don't know why you're telling me to "just enjoy LEGO" when someone else apparently can't because a set isn't designed for realistic interstellar space travel.

Villager torsos appear to be a new piece, so are the double-arms. So until we see them in hand we won't be able to tell how they're attached and how compatible they are with normal minifig pieces.

Donate plasma. Though there's a lot of things you need to NOT have done to do so. I get $280 a month doing that.

I don't know about that guy, but there's several countries where they just give you cookies and juice for donating plasma.

There are only two things that I like about or am looking forward to with Rogue One.
The Lego sets are the most prominent of the two.

Ben Mendelsohn's character looks like it could be a good base for a GA Thrawn figure.
Let's hope that Mads Mikkelsen's character is clean shaven and Lego fucks up and accidentally makes a batch of blue heads with his decal on them, that I can get my hands on.

I'd run the second piece the black fits in nicely. The piece you're running i think i acquired with a police helicopter and truck/dinghy set from 1996. It's good but I guess I associate it with modern day aviation computers

I found the Disney mininigs today.

Of course, out of all the CMF series, I have to find this stupid one that I have almost no interest in super early. I always find the other ones really late. I still have only seen series 15 a couple times....

The only ones I was interested in out of this one were Buzz and Maleficent. Gave two a quick feel and found Maleficent, and what I thought was Buzz, then I just grabbed three more random ones for good measure.

"Buzz" ended up being Ursula (fuck), and I got Cheshire cat, Ariel, and Minnie Mouse (fuck.)

Ariel isn't so bad, though. I like her hair piece and face a lot.

is ursula's torso just plain purple printed on black plastic?

It is a nice, solid piece, I suppose. I'm not sure what I'd personally use it for, but it looks good.

>>5610026

Yeah, its just purple printed on a black torso. Not only that, but the front printing on mine is a little skewed/not quite perfect, which is kind of irritating.

Yeah I'm not happy but at the same time at least it got here I guess, still waiting on an order from BC (a lot closer to here than ON) that was shipped almost 2 weeks ago now, I just answered a message from the seller wondering about it. Fucking Canada Post...

Pic related, my $6 of parts and $12 of box and bubble wrap.

I made an order from Poland (not Polandbro sadly) and it arrived in a pretty big box and like a meter of bubble wrap.

And I only ordered few minifig heads, couple of CCBS shells and stickers.

I've made orders from a seller in Ontario (I live in Ontario myself) that always come to waaaay more than they should. This seller's page says that if the contents can't fit through a mail slot in a padded envelope, they'll use a box, but there's no damn way my orders wouldn't have fit through a mail slot. It's just silly.
>>
>>5610199
Yeah exactly, shippers here in AB and next door in BC tend not to have any trouble going with bubblemail. Maybe ON sellers are paranoid about Canada Post fucking up, I guess with how things are going of late (2 weeks waiting on a BC order, over a week on one from freaking Calgary) it's understandable but fuck it hurts to pay shipping thats more than double the order's worth...
>>

All german stores could easily send the stuff I want as 2.60€ letters, in the end I always get bothered with handling fees, lot fees, paypal fees and 4.50€ package. Why not making it a 6,99€ insured package while you´re at it?
