The best thing would be old anti-aircrafted artillery like pic related, mounted on the truck and modified in order to be shinier and more chrome.

Nexo Knights Library and Infernox Takes the Queen on sale.

Mr. Freeze polybag ends today.

I also want Doctor Who Ideas set.

If I get Doc Who, I'll be short $5. for Mr. Freeze

If I get Nexo Knights, I'll be short about $28 for Mr. Freeze, which I can offset by buying Ultimate Robin, Lavaria and Beast Master.

sjws too busy focusing on western cartoons and comics and videogames.
Stuff like Lego Space Police are still way too obscure for them to whine about. Despite being crazy, sjws know what product to attack for better effect.
Average "geek girl" is not geeky enough to own such stuff and the ones that own are too nerdy to care about problematic issues.

Hey guys, LEGO retail store employee here with way more knowledge than I should reasonably have at my level.

If you've seen the May calendar you know we're selling a new, unknown set to VIPs only starting, like, May 18th. WE had no fucking clue what that set was until the shipping list came in today.

I don't have details, but going by the only three-digit set on the list... It's a $150-200 Minecraft set.

I'll try to get more details tomorrow and figure out the name of it.

I just kept forgetting to come back to /toy/.
I'm sorry D:

Yes, it's the village. We're getting them shipped in next Friday. Don't bother asking for one though, we put them in our offsite storage facilities before sale.

I really hate when AFOLs do that.

>"Euuuuuhhhh I know you got a shipment of Classic Batcave, you can sell me one"

Fuck off already.
>>
>>5610844
Now, please don't hate me for this, but when promotional polybags are "done", what do you do with the extras?

Are you not allowed to give them away anymore? I missed out on one of them before so I came the next day and randomly asked, but the employee said "Lego only sent us the exact amount that'll last us until the promotion is over."

I know that's fucking horseshit because you absolutely cannot give a finite number to something so...intangible.

Naw, it's actually a pretty good question.

It works in one of three ways. Let's take for example:
A: The Ninjago Kai's Mini Dragon giveaway
B: Classic Mr. Freeze
C: Exclusive May the 4th Stormtrooper.

For easy, less demanding things like A, we usually have an entire pallet of boxes full of these things. We throw them in with everything. We hand them out to crying children. We give them away with birthday cards. We usually have enough to give away long after the promotion is over, and sometimes we just can't get rid of them. We've given entire boxes to employees for their children's schools. But you can't ask them to do this for you, because who the fuck are you?

In B's case, we're given a few boxes. We know that this giveaway is highly prized and probably won't last long, and they're inventoried as fuck, as in, we have to scan every one that leaves the store, and they can't be given away outside of their specific promotion. Sometimes they surprise us and we have enough to last the whole two weeks or whatever. Sometimes they don't last the weekend. They're one per customer. Don't ask for two just because you have two kids.

C is a highly sought after, extremely limited gift. Small stores may only get 100 of them. My store is getting five boxes - around 300. Once those are gone, they're gone. Ask for a second one just because you bought more, and we will beat you with the empty box for it. Entitled AFOLs are the bane of the LEGO retailer. We hate absolutely nothing more.
IF, and that's a big if, we still have more of C at the end of the promotion, we are told to send them back to the supplier. This has never happened. We sell out every time.

Yours sounds like it might have been a case of B.
>>
>>5610882
I don't know how long you've been an employee, but it was the Lego Movie set of Emmet and the Piece of Resistance.

Thanks for the answer though. Also, can the stores sell them, if they wish? I remember a store selling a Hero Factory Brain Attack polybag for $5, and it was a promotion for buying anything relating to Hero Factory.

>>5610893
No, LEGO brand retail stores do not sell Polybags. Toys r us does, though.

We are not permitted to sell any giveaway items we have. Hero Factory's kinda old, so that may not have been the case forever, but it's the case now.

I'm not exactly a veteran. I'm getting my one-year brick in May. It'll be the only happy moment I've had in a while. Might mark the occasion with the purchase of an Elves set. Goddamn do I love poofy gay-ass dragons.
>>
>>5610893
Also yes, I do know that Emmet's polybag was insanely rare and they probably ran out before the promotion ended.

its not terribly different than lego black, but something about their black combined with their extra detail and lack of any paint, makes pieces loose alot of it at a distance
that same head a foot away from you has no visible shadows, so you visually lose most of the nostrils, eyes, and some of the ears

a failed photo because i don't have big white curtain/piece of paper but whatever...
Finally i bought series 7 mixels to build Max and i have all of my favorite Maxes.
Oh god i love this line so much. Lego did a great job when came up with this idea.
It's like a mix between 80s weird toys and Megaman robots.
Can't wait to see what kind of Max others will have. That pirate line better not fuck it up.
PS:
Also i kinda think that Mixels have better maxes when they go with "square" shape and chunky/thick looking body.
Castle Max was a big disappointment.

>>

Looks like Katana, Killer Croc, Captain Boomerang, Scarecrow, Firefly/Killer Moth?

I doubt they'll use Suicide Squad in the marketing. I got the motorcycle chase set with Bats, Deadshot and Harley Quinn and Harley has the blue/red outfit from the SS comics/ "The Squad" DLC from Lego Batman 3 game.

No where does it make any kinda mention of suicide squad, it'd be "suicide" for a toy company to use that in their marketing.

Good looking minifigs though. Deadshot has yellow hands so guess they aren't going for movie accuracy.

So honest question. Is this set worth it? Ive been a sucker for this ship design since I first saw it in episode two. Also that video game were you flew that around killing poor droids. i managed to get the 7676 but this one looks good too and i might make a diorama or something if I find the space. Only problem is it never released in my country (what a surprise), and I can only get it through bricklink at about 180-200 euros. Is it worth that price? Or should I go for a combo Poes Xwing/ first ordre tie I found?

I dunno what was my inspiration at the time when I built it. Subconsciously, it might have been star wars ships.

I don't really have a set plan in mind, I just combine a few pieces together and go 'hey, I like the look of this', and try to build around it, eventually ending up with a ship.

I like your ships, they look pretty solid and not prone to breaking into a million pieces when dropped. I should start building a little closer to the 'body' of the ship to make them sturdier

...and here is the cape I ended up with. It's quite useful as a third leg for support, and it's also a technique to stow away all those long unwieldy pieces.

This guy was built from the caterpillar thing from the Fire Temple set, the tiny motorcycle from the Sabertooth vehicle (which the full thing has its own mech), and the $15 vulture vehicle. Well, those models and a handful of Mixel joints.

I'm currently working on converting Laval's giant red tread thing into a gunman, with possibly afterward integrating Eris's flame bird thing as well. Surprisingly I've managed to get the treads to behave nicely on the legs similar to this guy here, so expect an even taller mech.

Well, orange isn't real common, but Nexo Knights uses a lot of blue and grey....and trans orange. And the builds are half spaceshipy to begin with, so you could probably buy a bunch of the smaller sets and make something interesting out of all that.

So am I and even the stuff I bought for my nephew showed the same issues.
It's not even an issue that only occurs in a certain theme since the same shit happens everywhere, be it a Super Heroes, Nexo Knights, City or Ninjago set.
Probably the worst case were the Chima Legend Beasts to the point where I wouldn't have been surprised if "LELE" was molded onto the studs.
I also dug out some old Exploriens, Hydronauts, Harry Potter, etc. figures for comparison and they don't have any broken heels.

This is absolutely NOT true.

I have actually never heard of a minifig's heels cracking. It's never happened to me, and at my store, the minifigs go through hell. You'll find the same one on the stand, in the DUPLO play bin, in the Mighty Micros play area, on the floor, underfoot, and you can still put it back in the Build-a-Mini stand at the end of the day scot-free.

LEGO Does. Not. Compromise when it comes to production value. There's absolutely no reason to lower production costs when the bits themselves cost so little to make, especially minifigs which we've been making the same way, with the same ABS plastic, since 1978.

Our motto hangs on the wall of every LEGO store and company outpost. "Only the Best is Good Enough"

>>
>>5613172
>I have actually never heard of a minifig's heels cracking.

Yah, no. The jumper pieces in the super hero sets are known to break the heels of minifigs.

And what about all the torso cracks? I'm thinking there is a small crack engineered under the armpit to make it easier to snap the arm in, but even moving the arm stresses that slit. I could be way wrong about that, though.

Most of the components for CMFs are made in our factories, like everything else.

However, CMFs use highly specialized parts that might never, ever be used in a set again, like the Shark's arms and mask or the Indian girl's papoose.

Every time we make a new LEGO element, the mold costs $80,000 to produce... per factory. Unless we see a high rate of return for that one part and will be using it in other sets, that part gets manufactured by a sister comany.

>>5613178
I play with the super jumper all the time. It's not ideal, but I've never broken a piece with it. As far as the arm breaking, I've never heard of this happening before. There is no small crack made into the torso.
>>
>>5613172

I've never seen or heard of them cracking or breaking either.

Although, in recent days, I've noticed white stress lines where the leg pegs onto the hip part sometimes, even on new minifigs.

>>5613176

I know that CMF minifigs are almost exclusively made in China, so maybe there's something going on there production wise, or material wise that makes them look and feel cheaper (which they do.) Usually, even the paint doesn't look quite as good on them. What irritates me most is that they can't even carry over the paint/decals to the back of the legs. Only the front and sides which just throws the look off on some figures.

In the last 10 or so years the only cracks or breaks I've had were the following:
>The clips that connected the S-foil of an Original Ep. III Anakin's Eta 2 Interceptor, which broke because I accidentally knocked it off it's shelf.
>A clip on a little Firefighter ATV. Looks like it was a factory fault as the side that cracked was smaller/thinner then the other side.
>A couple of slope pieces on the Propeller Plane have what appears to be very small hairline cracks

Mean while, almost every single one of my minifigs and a lot of blocks from my childhood (the 90s) have creaks and breaks. Even figures that I didn't play with have cracks.

Clutch power isn't really an issue with being broken, though.

Some people complained that the newer stand-alone baseplates (like the green ones and the tan ones that they sell alone) weren't clutching pieces right.

I've got a couple of them and I haven't noticed any problems with them not clutching properly, though.

And at the end of the day, there are just sometimes going to be bad batches of things, just because of the way the plastic is, or something happened at the factory, or the machinery, or human error, or something. You just can't avoid it, 100% of the time.

Truth is, LEGO is still pretty damn high up there when it comes to QC, even if there have been instances where things have broken, or a batch hasn't been quite right.

Well shit never mind then.

I'd definitely recommend watching Xabungle and MSG immediately.

Mazinger Z you could watch or ready any time.
ZZ Gundam you should watch after Zeta, which comes after MSG. Do take a break between the two.
L-Gaim you could also technically watch at any time but I found that watching it after having seen Xabungle made the "spiritual succession" part make more sense.

You can actually watch Xabungle right now on Youtube, oddly.

I went to the Lego Store at the MoA this weekend!

My first visit there was kind of a disappointment, because their BaM selection was really limited and the PaB only had a few things I wanted on it, but I am extremely happy with what they have in stock right now. I was able to get just about all of the bricks and pieces that I had been meaning to pick up, plus some palm leaves and dress slopes. They also have two "floor sweepings" bins of random pieces that an employee said were new to that location, where I found an extra CMF Zookeeper head and a few tiles.

I did think it was hilarious that the only CMF bags they had were a nearly-full box of Simpsons S2.

I only have one of the floating boat sets. It is an old police boat from when I was a kid. The anti-capsizing effect is achieved with a weighted brick. It like 2 x 8 x 2-ish I think. It's pretty heavy compared to normal bricks, and it rattles a little if you shake it. Hope that helps.

it doesn't hold a candle to based god
but honestly, im a real big fan of their smaller creator lines. small shit that needs three builds, forces them to get a bit more creative
the dumptruck is cute, the main build is nice, but the crane is just ugly

then again i just leave creator sets together as my favorite of its builds, so il never have to build the crane again

I'm actually from Tacoland. We have it better than some places, yes, but
>no lego stores despite having a fucking factory here

Although sometimes we do get some decent stuff on clearance, like I was expecting to get the Ghost. Scalpers are now sellign that at more than double the MSRP and unfurtunately cracklink is no different. I'm considering scouting other toy stores around to see if any of them happens to have one, even if I have to pay (a bit) more above MSRP.

Although I precisely got Ezra's Speeder on a "buy 1 get the second at 50%".

You should think about defaulting on your debt and become a german wageslave. 20% discounts are relatively often, toysrus.de especially even applies them on huge exclusive sets like the Simpsons houses and Star Wars UCS stuff. Most sets that were part of the regular waves (i.e. no Modular houses or similar exclusive stuff) have fair prices on Ebay if you aren´t bothered with them being used or out of the box.
