I need your help anon. I want to build a lego swamp.

I'm thinking some olive plants on stagnant water would look nice, but am not sure how to make the water.

I could use trans-green 1x1 tiles, but I'm afraid the pattern will be too obvious. Other option is dark green (or maybe olive green?) bricks on the side.

Anybody tried something like this, or has a better idea?

And the animated Government for comparison. This gray-colored one is the personal Walker Machine of wannabe shaprhooter Timp Sharon, a breaker hired by the Innocent who mostly acts as a lone wolf. He's also kinda important to the protagonist, Jiron, in the sense that Jiron really, really wants to kill him.

Brown Government. These are the ones that appear in use by ordinary Breakers.

I'm not happy with mine's flanks as it doesn't convey the roundness you get in the art. It's plain and flat.
Aaaand I just realized I took up five images with all that. Fuck.
>>
>>5577328
i think the most likely would be Zelda. every game is a slightly different version, so it could be slightly reinterpreted/simplified for a lego theme, it's extremely popular and recognizable even by non-gamers (and sets would be enjoyable just for the fantasy setting/characters even if you don't know anything about the license), and it could work as a one-off handful of sets a-la scooby doo.
plus there was a zelda set that reached the review stage on Lego Ideas.
>>
>>5577340
A Mario series could be somewhat likely too, get Peach's castle in there, some Bowser shit and something like the opening screen of 1-1 from Super Mario Bros. as a tiny set.
>>
i forgot to add that there's also a new zelda game coming pretty soon.

It's probably because it's a flash game. I mean it's a big flash game but it's still a flash game and that alone guarantees it probably won't have enough of an audience to make Lego fanart.

Wouldn't an official release of Submachine on, say, Steam, be interesting?
>>
>>5577382
i'd ditch the 2x2 cylinder stacks, make the arms square and make the elbow joints the same as the shoulder joints

If they do Zelda, I hope that's how they do it. We don't need autists going "but adult Link looks different in Ocarina of Tiiiiime!" or debating endlessly about which version it's "supposed to be". Who cares. Elf kid in green with a sword and shield. As long as the sets are fun, who cares?

I was originally going for those kinds of arms, as it happens, but I thought it looked too similar to the Promeus I made. I also wasn't sure if it would've been accurate. Both Walker Machines have loose cables around their arms I'd need to imitate with short chain or string IRL to really get right, and with the Government I couldn't tell from the animation references whether the arms were really round or square.

>>5577397
Oh damn that's a good idea. Done.

Also added the hovernozzles and exhausts, as well as the "belts" that appear on the WM in the fanart render. Looks a tad nicer spiffed up, I'd hope.

You guys have any idea what WM to do next, besides the protagonist mecha? I wouldn't mind doing a Caprico, but they most commonly come in hot pink, which would be much tougher to build IRL. Maybe a Crab Type?

You did pretty well anon, that's some real streamlining going on right there. The square 1x4 tile on the roof really accentuates the aerodynamics of the whole car, like the roof is one big spoiler. Cool stuff!

I decided to go for the Crab Type WM. I'd tried it beforehand, and felt like I couldn't do it, but this time I just plowed through it. Feels good, and looks quite like the actual Crab type. It also went really fast, which I wasn't expecting.

is there a way on bricklink to search for stores that sell a specific item AND see how many other things on your wanted list they have?
searching by shop just shows me how many lots they have on the wanted list (which can exclude the thing i want) and searching by just that fig doesn't seem to have an option to sort by stores that have multiple lots
>>
>>5578537
I'm not sure I completely understand but try this: find the store with the wanted item, then in the top left side Under the cart options and right above the stores listings there is an option to view all items this has on your wanted list.
>>
>>5578537
Lots (unique)
>>
>>5578563
i was just hoping there was a way to do that without actually entering the store, just from glancing at the store list

the way it is now, i seem to have to open every store with it, then check individually if they have more i want. i was hoping there was a way know beforehand they have the fig BUT ALSO know if they have other wishlist stuff, at a glance, without actually entering their page

>>5578572
lots unique just tells me how many unique lots they have, not if they have what im looking for

i dunno, its just annoying going into every store with it under 10$, and then having to see if they have more shit that i could pick up at the same time to save on shipping. i figured there was a way to do both without going through multiple pages

Quick survey, plz - How much space have you dedicated to your Lego sorting system? What kind of storage containers do you use to sort them?

I'm such a craphead. I have three categories - Cool pieces, Generic pieces, and Minifigs.

I have a moderate-sized collection so my pieces aren't sorted by color or by precise type (mostly), but it is pretty well-sorted.

I use the small drawers in the black casing for small pieces or pieces I don't have too many of, generally sorted by category. (transparent 1x1 round canisters/studs, clips, ratcheted hinges, mixel joints, etc.)

I use the big white sterilite plastic drawers for very numerous or large pieces, also broken down by category like 1 by whatever plates,2 by whatever bricks, baseplates, instruction manuals, wings, minifigs, blah blah blah.

I also have some smaller-sized sterilite drawers that hold semi-numerous pieces, like tiles and 2x2 round pieces.

Then there are a couple of smaller cases that hold minifig accessories and helmets, wildlife, and other miscellaneous odds and ends.

I'd advise getting your storage and sorting set up sooner rather than later. The longer you wait, the worse The Great Sort will be.

I have 6 small parts organizers, sorta like the ones pictured. Unfortunatelly the compartments are too narrow and deep, and when mixing different pieces in a compartment it's hard to find a piece in color you need, or even see if you still have any left. Shallower and wider boxes would probably work better. I also have a plastic box of ziplocks filled with less used parts.

My first method was to group pieces by function (plates 1x1, plates 1x2, plates 1x other, bigger plates, slopes, slopes inverted, bricks, tiles 1x1, round tiles, other tiles, hinges, etc).

Nowadays I try to group basic pieces - bricks and plates - by color, and the more specialised ones by function.

I think the ideal solution would be to have a wall of small, shallow bin organizers; don't have the space for that in my small onionflat, though.
>>
>>5578177

Haha, I have plenty of pieces, the problem is having enough of the little detailing pieces in the right colors. I suppose that's what bricklink is for.

Part count, I don't have any real idea, an extremely rough guess would be anywhere from 7,000-10,000 pieces? I've gotta take a couple weeks or so sometime and count every single bastard I've got.
>>
>>5578610

http://www.amazon.com/Storehouse-Organizer-Full-Length-Drawer/dp/B004IMN9U4

a big storage box for manuals and set boxes I'm keeping, mostly old Classic Space, and a lot of flat boxes just stacked on top of each other.

up to ~170 categories ranging from really specific like

1x1 round plates solid
1x1 round plates transparent
1x1 square plates solid and transparent because I don't have enough to separate them

to kind of generic like one big box with just 1x4 and 2x4 pieces, plates and bricks.

total's around 20,000 pieces.

I have a box for minifigs and minifig parts, but other than that, all my bricks are just mixed together in a giant plastic tub. I need to invest in a bigger tub soon, though, or a second one. To me, half the fun of building with Lego is rummaging around looking for some specific piece I know I have somewhere like when I was a kid. That said, I do keep a handful of complete sets inside ziplock bags in there if I don't wanna mix them up, like a few of the more complex Creator sets.

Bionicle/technic is mostly sorted by general part type, figs are sorted by normal/fantasy/sci-fi and gear/tool/body sections. In my book, any new set is worth $0.10/piece to start, and then more or less than that depending on personal preference. So the 1300 piece Millennium Falcon would be worth no more than $130 to me, because I like it, but I don't like it enough to pay MSRP ($150) for it.

What I'm saying is that $125 for a 1300 piece set is almost always worth it, because at least you're getting it for less than $0.10/piece.

Not sure if they can, since that would probably count as an action figure, and Lego got into trouble with that back in 2000.

Still, there is the possibility that arrangements have been made to allow for a CMF for the movie, such as a temporary license, or even a deal made with Mattel, who may be willing to allow it because it would only be a temporary/limited "collectable" thing. Or they may be fine with it because it's Lego Batman and they defiantly don't have the copyright clearance, let alone a license, to produce anything for the movie.

There's also the possibility that Lego Batman could be separate from the main license, the same way that a license to make action figures based upon Comic Batman would be separate from a license to make BvS action figures, which it's self would be separate from the DK trilogy license.

Is Bricklink the best place? And can you combine purchases from different stores? It's always that only or two of the pieces are cheaper in one store than the other, and it's going to be tedious if I have to make individual purchases with each store one at a time.

Only way to go is up, since the horse is generally considered to be worst Nexo set. I personally kinda like the bike form, though.

If you can't decide what to get next, most of the Ideas and Nexo Knights are solid sets, and I fucking love Sky Shark and Raid Zeppelin from Ninjago. If you want to step up your game, every single modular building and UCS set is worth every penny. Just browse around and pick up stuff you like.

And once you've emptied the local stores, go to Bricklink and buy all kinds of shit. Your wallet will love it.

its not my opinion, but i think the general idea is
"while its an alright set, horse mode looks meh, and like it was entirely designed both to A. transform into another mode, and B. designed to make the other mode look better" but they sold the cover look as the horse and the motorcycle as just extra feature. im pretty sure its in bike mode most of the time in the show also

it most likely will be better than macys, but if you like the horse mode on its own even, you'll probably like a few more of their sets

>Hmm. Paint over the feather and that Peter Pan hair would be perfect for Link. I'd say Brasso it off, but the piece is probably flesh colored underneath.
It might be green; Lego makes a lot of multi-tone pieces now.

>What's a good paint for Lego? If I tape over the ears and bangs, could I use spraypaint?
That's the worst thing you could do. Consider looking into vinyl dye, cutting off the feather with a razor blade or Sword of Exact Zero, or just flip it over and verify what the color under the feather is and be pleasantly surprised when it's green

Actually, I e-mailed one seller already. Turns out he was gone for the Easter weekend.

FWIW, the one I was more concerned about was a seller who just started on Saturday and has prices slightly lower than every other seller, which made me think "scam account." He's got 20-something orders already, but no feedback, because he's not been in the game long enough for anyone to receive their shipment. But I just rechecked the status now and it's gone to "Packed," meaning "Shipped" is the next status.

It's all older sets I'm getting. And yes, I shouldn't have gotten so click-happy, but in the time it took me to compile my order, the guy's inventory dropped by about 15%, meaning other people are picking up on the (percieved?) good deals really fast. I'd kick myself if I missed out.

Catwoman is my favorite here. Poison Ivy, Bane, and Clayface also look good, hoping for all of these in sets when the movie comes out. Clayface also looks fantastic, I really really hope we get him in a set in some way, seeing as we've never gotten a physical Clayface before.
