I guess they're not really out of reach, but whenever I think of getting some old set I start thinking eh, I'll just build my own version eventually.

Medieval Market Village ranks up there, too. 1000 pieces more than Mill Village Raid, but only about $20 more than Mill Village Raid on Bricklink, because of those damn goats.

>Brickbuilt chickens
But why.
>>5572560
Came out in 2009, molded chickens weren't done until 2011.
So this started out as an excuse to try a skirt design I found, but this is might be up with those bee girls as my favorite girls now.
Skirt and most of the leg design is by Moko, if anyone's curious.
>mfw there's only a small amount of Hero Factory Minifigs on sale at Bricklink
I guess no one really bought them. Kinda disappointed I didn't, since I told myself "Oh, they'll be flooding BL soon enough."
Do we have any idea when this comes out? I want it, badly.
>>5572440
I don't usually browse this general, so not sure if it's common knowledge yet. But Lego is likely taking the Pokemon license from Nano.

When I was a kid I always loved collecting the different types of lego people. I especially loved the skeletons.
I kinda wanted to make a skeleton battlefield with them having swords and armor and shit and slaughtering the people.
Are lego people cheap?
>>5572937
>Are lego people cheap?
http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?M=gen047
>>5572937
Depends on what you're looking for. Bootleg minifigures are the cheapest but you'll find only supeheroes/zombies/military guys for good prices.
>>5572937
Short answer is no.
Most low price sellers have low stock, and you'll get fucked over by shipping costs buying from em. Taking advantage of high stock sellers to counter getting ass fucked by shipping usually means dealing with higher base prices. Alternatively you can seek the dark gods of chaos and become a heretic for mere pennies per fig and free shipping.
>>5572937
You could probably print skellies for pennies a pop.
>>5572578
>>5572743
Nice going yo. I was thinking of building the particular model you're talking about, too, but I decided it'd be better not to, which was to my detriment because I haven't yet built a skirt that has satisfied me.
I'm still trying to finish the bigger lady I posted a while back. I know what I want to do next project-wise but I want to finish her first, and additionally I need more slopes for hair.
You have any ideas for this lady's crotch+legs? I have one that would reduce the articulation a little, but in a way that would likely still look nice.
And what she currently "has". I wanted to round this out with slopes, and I have them, but I'm having the second thoughts I mentioned.
Please excuse the excessively shitty photo.

Most people don't give a fuck and just treat them like any other MOC - Sometimes they're cool, other times they're lame, but whatever at least someone's posting something new.
You are not "most people" and your opinion is not shared by "most people" either. If you don't like them, post something else. But don't shit up the thread with bait.

Is there a more efficient way of bulk-buying parts, like plates or bricks, than Bricklink? I look at those huge displays that people make for Brickfair and the like that use hundreds of, for example, 2x2 tile pieces and wonder where people even get the moolah to acquire that many.

On LDD, does anyone else seem to have trouble using the Design tool? Whenever I try to pick out a design for a piece, it will either stop scrolling and refuse to scroll further, close the window, or just simply not load all of the designs.
Is this normal, and it's just a piece of shit software? Or is something else wrong?

Mariachi Guy will go well with my Maracas Guy. I should get the TLM version as well sometime and have a Three Amigos troupe.
Cyborg is probably getting her own episode.
Devil kid will be extremely useful.
Quatro Baby will join City Park Baby and Papoose Newborn in my ever-growing collection of underage minifigs.
I've had an idea for another fig for more than a year now, and with the last cracklink order that came in this week, all I need to complete it is Babysitter Girl's hair.
The other figs look pretty cool as well. Overall, this is shaping up to be a 10/10 wave.

Nothing exactly like that, but there's one head that might work if you don't mind the colored frames.
As mentioned a few months ago, I play a lot of costume roles for various community events in the town I work in. I just got back from being the Easter Bunny, and while there were surprisingly fewer terrified kids compared to last year, it got me thinking, has anyone heard if Lego.com is going to have another promo for the Bunny Suit Guy like they did for the Chicken Guy?
>who /blacktron/ here?
My favourite theme as a child as I had fond memories playing with the Allied Avenger. I recently bought some of the more recent Blacktron minifigs and cobbled together a team. It consists of the alien heavy weapons guy, a super soldier, a recon scout and a cyborg technician.

>>5573978
TRU.com said this was out of stock at all my local TRUs.

Not bad for like, $32 or whatever.
>>5573329
Was there a list of of the figure names somewhere? I want the Banana Suit guy so far.
>>5573978
>>40% off at TRU
Oh so retail price then?
>>5574113
It retailed for $49.99 everywhere else, and $54.99 at TRU. 40% off knocks it down to just over $30, which is pretty good no matter what. Plus, the thing has been retired for like, a year anyway.
It is a set that is probably going to skyrocket on the aftermarket, since LEGO doesn't exactly do many X-Men sets.
what do you guys think about using duplo blocks for building walls and shit?

So... Where do /lg/ think I can get some of those lever bases in orange ? I know some bricklink sellers have misprint pieces, sometime, but they don't seem to have these in orange. About to turn 3 avenger towers into a moc modular tower, but I've never made a modular. Most modulars use a 32x32 base? Should I just start with a green or blue 32 base plate?
>>5574342
Base color doesn't matter because it will be covered anyway. All modern modulars cover the entire baseplate.
>>5574347
Sorry I was unclear, I wasn't asking which color to use, just if I should use a base plate at all, because I think modulars use regular plates.
Bootleg anon, got these mini modulars in the mail from Decool. Pretty good quality, only got one shitty piece that didn't hold together out of like 600-800 pieces. This made me fall in love with mini builds. I might order the other four duplicate sets from decool then start doing mini MOCs a for a city.
>>5574355
Start without one and transfer to one if you need it. Or just use a base plate. It's your choice there is no standard.
>>5574355
They do use a 32x32. Some of the older ones use two 16x32s, though. I mean, same difference, but.
>>5574342
Yeah, modern modulars are 32x32 and usually have spaces for rods in the base to link them together with other modulars (I forget what the piece is actually called)
Also, Modulars typically come in "layers" where each layer only connects by a couple studs to make, say, taking off individual floors or roofs easier.
>>5574347
>All modern modulars cover the entire baseplate.

>>5574381
Shhhh.
>>5574381
That's Al the Barber, just sweeping some discarded hair pieces into the trash.
>>5574376
Yeah, the modulars don't really build all the way to the back of the plate. They usually only cover about 2/3~3/4 the plate
Anyone else suffer from a terrible cycle?
>see something that inspires you, decide to build it
>get started, having great fun while still looking at thing and researching techniques, parts etc
>slowly become less interested and only finish the build because it would a waste of time not to mention a waste since you already disassembled the last MOC
>see something else and the cylce starts all over again.

>>5574388
>Oh shit, they do use regular base plates.
Yes, and the pin hole bricks are 10&11 studs in from the front and 12&13 studs in from the back at the base of the building.
>>5574235

I need some thoughts, /lg/.
I want to make some mechs, but I don't have inspiration yet. Should I buy assorted mech-related parts and hope I find inspiration or do I visualize what I want to make first? I think that the only thing stopping me from making mechs is that I don't have enough of pic related.
Right now, I have 212 pieces of bricks on my BL cart, mostly different colors of the slopes and 2x2s
>>5574682
i don't know your parts selection anon, so it's pretty hard to judge.
LDD is a good way to start, but fiddling with bricks in person is always a better way to come up with stuff for me.
>>5574686
If by parts selection you mean what I have to work with when I get the order I'm thinking of, I have a couple of Mech-related sets like The King's Mech, Kai's Fire Mech, Lex Luthor's Power Suit, Gorzan's Gorilla Striker, 80% of the Galaxy Squad sets + 2 huge plastic bins of Lego that probably weigh 10kg each.
I have enough I think, but I also think that 212 pieces of joints and slopes is overkill, but at the same time, handy in case I need them.
>>5574691
yeah what i meant was wich parts you already have at hand. But it sounds like you have a lot to fiddle with untill you pass through the next phase of thinking of specific parts you might need to complete it even better.

Sincewe usually see buildings, waifus, mechs, cars and spaceships in these threads, what about some of these:
>Build an animal
Lego animals are not new or novel, there are a fair number of creator sets and friends dragons but animal MOCs are dwarfed by the above things
>Technic build

Lego already makes plenty of sophisticated sets (technic), and visually complex sets which are simple (bionicle).
Bionicle type sets would be a good fit for Pokemon, though I would personally prefer more sophisticated builds.

Personally I think that for non-degenerates it's quite understandable to not want waifu stuff posted but it's still lego, and at any rate you could always ignore it. I also agree with >>5573099
Opinions aren't bait, they're opinions. If people don't like waifuposting they've got every right to complain.
However, at the same time, when this clash of dislike comes, there's an issue that crops up from the arguing or back-and-forth consuming the thread, something that's happened multiple times with other topics or on occasion trite stuff that should never have snowballed into a fun-killing mess.
I'm working on a HF-shell based chest and it's giving me hell. That little nub where the base of the neck would be on the "pecs" makes it impossible to build a neck structure that looks good without an outrageously long torso!

>I never had any Bionicle stuff, but can these be used as masks on minifigs? Probably not by themselves, but is there anything on them that's compatible with regular Lego parts so you can add to make them fit?
The masks are actually huge compared to minifigs - Almost the size of an entire minifig, even.
>>5575195
The mask is the size of a minifig.
However, there was some minifig-scale Bonkle-sets, and their heads are compatible with normal minifigs.
>>5575195
Most of the original masks had either a stud-connection or Technic axle to attach it to Bionicle head. Shouldn't be too hard to connect to Technic-brick.
The ones used nowadays have a specific connection that only works with the heads used now.

Talking about LEGO making 151 different Pokemon, having grandiose ideas of what LEGO will make with this license, listing a breadth of product types that only the Star Wars, DC, and Marvel licenses can justify(and really it's just Star Wars that can).
Almost *none* of that stuff is going to happen. At best you will get a single wave of 4-5 sets with Pikachu in every single set.

>>>/tg/46278415
>>5575472
Nobody is expecting a product line as extensive as Star Wars out of the gate. People are giving you EXAMPLES of the sorts of cool stuff that could be done with the license, and you're getting all huttburt over the possibility that Lego might release things you personally don't want to buy.
You've twisted this from being about Lego Pokemon to being about you not liking the IP. The end.
>>5575498
I don't care about the IP, for good or bad. If the sets are good I'll buy them. Feel that way about every IP LEGO works in. I'm going to buy a couple of Angry Birds sets, even though I'm not a huge fan of the IP. I like LEGO. I don't care what IP logo is on the box.
What makes me "butthurt" is anticipating giant levels of autism for months until LEGO announces sets, then months of autism because LEGO announced different kinds of sets than the pokefags wanted, etc.
And I'm particularly worried because pokefags are already shitting up this thread with insane wishlists and worthless shit-posting and it's just a RUMOR at this point. YOU'RE the most rational one so far and you are paranoid and reality-challenged.
Want to prove me wrong? Stop being paranoid, police your friends from shit-posting in this general, and try and be rational.

It has always been a pain for Brikwarriors to pull this off.
Any part with a Bar COULD be used, but your best bet is to build up from existing Minifig Utensils.
15071 was literally made to build Guns with, but we use to have to make do with 4360, 30035, 3959, 2516, 60849, as well as the classic 4349.

No, you're underestimating how popular and long standing Pokemon is.
The only reason that other Pokemon building toys fail, is because they're from no-name companies, that don't have the exposure (even with big IPs) or contacts to get into most Toy Stores.
The only 2 stores within 100km of me that I can think of that stock the Pokemon Nanos or what ever the fuck they're called, are an eb Games in one town and and eb Games in another.
Mean while every other store that has toys (even supermarkets who only have a couple of shelves with toys) stock other Pokemon toys.
