Pretty indicative of homosexual leanings to be quite honest with you family.
Am I in /co/?
Also I wish we got new toys of Lugnut for the fucking hell of it.

And no one cares.
Think it'd work out well enough to just take the arms or legs off of the little dudes when they happen to stick out too much on the back of the heads? That's the only thing bugging me about Scourge
>>5565061
She even has trigger discipline!
>>5565103
Taking off the legs would probably make the head too skinny from the side. Arms, it might make the legs look odd from the front since the legs might then be visible?
tl;dr You're probably gonna be unhappy no matter what you do, and given how tiny the heads are you'll probably think it looks better in person.
>>5565103
Just remove the arms or track a head of one rts junker Scourge/cast a copies of rts Scourge, but then the head would just hang on the back of the altmode.

Hm. Wait for Fortress Maximus, or pay twice as much for a Metroplex off the net?

Head over to the TF General thread at /co/ and you'll find out.
Anyone have the new MP Hot Rod? Thinking about putting an order in.
>>5565103
What bugs me is that you can't just leave the head on. You have to remove the head to transform it.
>>5564907
Reprolabels a shit. That's an Ocean Designs dry transfer. You can get them from BBTS, or, even easier, ebay.
>>5565230
He's great. Get him.
>>5565255
You're just showing how small of a bastard he really is. Not much of a plus.
>>5565278
He's taller than the Autobot cars, Ultra Magnus is just a huge figure.
>>5565255
Damn, deluxes these days sure do suck.
>>5565290
>>5565201
Whats been posted here is already so much worse.
>>5565281
>He's taller than the Autobot cars
Thats not saying much.
>>5565309
The tumblr tier fan art they post of shit like Cyclonus wearing a dress, Rodimus and Drift kissing, ect is equally bad.
>>5565090
If there is a Hell, I'll see you there
>>5565329
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only old timer on here.
Have you bought any figures because of /you/?
I've bought a few, like pic related.
He's a fun, stocky little bot with a surpising amount of posability.
>>5565339
*/toy/
goddammit.
>>5565281
He's the size of a Voyager, or at least as big as the Springer mold. He's the same height as my Cloud Rodimus.
>>5565339
DOTM Laserbeak. That toy is still one of my favorites.
>>5565278
>small
He's like 7 inches tall. Thats Voyager sized man. Thats not small.
>>5565356
I mean if you're okay with paying almost triple a voyager price for something the same size I guess you'll try to make it sound better than it is.
>>5565368
Theres no other good Hot Rod figures around is the problem. At least it's not like MP Magnus, who has less range of articulation than the CW Leader Mags.
>>5565371
There are other hot rods. Plenty actually. Unless you're anal over using Rodimus.
>>5565368
Some people have different budgets than others. He costs less than a Third Party figure of similar size, and he's a really great Hot Rod toy.
If you can't afford him, tough shit for you, however I can afford him and enjoy him, regardless of size.
>>5565378
It's nothing about affording. Its about knowing what's really worth the price. You people always try the poorfag argument like it's valid.
>>5565377
Which ones? The ridiculously overpriced Cloud repaint of Springer? The tiny CW Legends that barely looks like him? The old Henkei one thats almost as expensive as the MP with bad articulation? The G1 one thats as brick as any other G1 figure? Ones from other series that don't look like G1 Hot Rod?
There really is no other GOOD Hot Rod figure out there that isn't already as, more, or only a tiny bit less, expensive than the MP. And at that point, you might as well just get the MP.
>>5565386
Oh so you are anal.
>>5565389
It's not anal, it's about sense. Why would I buy an old-ass Henki HR for almost the same price as a MP, which is smaller, doesn't look as good, and has less articulation? Makes no sense.
>>5565391
But that ain't your only choice.
>>5565391
Yeah, the classic/generations mold They keep using is a piece of shit. With as prominent as he is in the comics, I can't believe he hasn't gotten a new deluxe mold.
>>5565383
He definitely is worth the price, having him in hand, way more worth it than a $15 deluxe that's hollow as shit.
If you don't want to buy him, don't, but it's not stopping people from buying him.
>>5565386
TFA Rodimus is a great toy, unless you're just looking for geewun no fun.
>>5565158
Comic Windblade is so CUTE!
Toy Windblade, though...
>>5565404
Not that guy, but I honestly forgot that existed. I bet there's an IDW head for him on shapeways.
>>5565408
Transformers constantly changes their looks. He looks like a transformer to everyone else. You're just another geewunner simpleton that can't move on.
>>5565383
>uses words like worth and price
Look at this guy over here, Get over yourself. You either like the toy, so you get it or you don't and you don't. Price shouldn't factor in to how much you like something.
>>5565404
I like my robots to look like robots, not misproportioned comic book heros.
>>5565428
>Price shouldn't factor in to how much you like something.
This is the worst economic thought and is why so many people are in horrible debt.
>>5565431
Robots can have all kinds of proportions because they arent human. You want them to look like people and not robots.
>>5565339
Yeah. HFTD Terradive. He's probably one of my all time favorite deluxes now.
>>5565431
Check out these G1 accurate robots.
>>5565439
No, those are two separate things. If you like something, you should decide to get it. THEN, if price is an issue in actually obtaining it, then thats a separate decision.
But then, we're not talking about affordability anyway.
>>5565478
I didn't say anything about G1. I just said robots. Just standard, regular looking robots. You act like simple, or blocky designs are bad or something.
>>5565485
Then you're contradicting what you said.
>>5565488
>regular looking robots
You know there's so many different kinds of robots that look so fucking different from each other, right?
>>5565383
>Its about knowing what's really worth the price.
Well worth is a matter of opinion. Voyagers today are double the price of what they used to be, so maybe they're not worth the price now.
>>5565445
>Robots can have all kinds of proportions because they arent human.
You're actually retarded, yes? Animated DOES look like people, that's the problem. Exaggerated super hero proportions. It's stupid. I'm sorry your desire for something "new" and "fresh" has led you to accept any new thing, as shitty as it is but keep it to yourself.
>>5565489
Affordability =/= value
>>5565425
That's pretty silly. I enjoyed the Animated aesthetic, but there's plenty of people that dislike it who aren't obsessed with G1. That's one of the cool things about Transformers, you can have drastically different looking lines, but no line will please everyone.
ITT Bayformer/Anitarded apologists
>>5565488
Simple, blocky designs are boring and not something I would spend my money on.
Regardless, you have an extremely limited view on what robots look like and I don't think Transformers is a franchise for you.
>>5565503
>does look like people
Nope. G1 looks more like people than animated does.
I was busy for a while so I haven't kept up with the TR stuff. Is the Hasbro Fortress Maximus no come with the Master Sword, or his Gun?
Do we know if other releases have those weapons?
>>5565018
>>5565513
>Simple, blocky designs are boring and not something I would spend my money on
Then what are you doing liking Transformers?
>Takara's Titan Wars toys are coming out in July
Will Hasbro be releasing theirs earlier, then? 99% of modern tfs are released by Hasbro first, right?
>>5565552
Not all transformers are simple and blocky.
>>5565445
>>5565568
Lol, yeah, Animated was definitely based on comic book superhero proportions. Granted, real humans don't really look like that.
Finally got the third Encore cassette set, decided to do an updated group photo.
All that chrome and camera flash really do not mix. I should get a cheap lightbox or something...and some lights.
>>5565580
Better pics than I can take.
>>5565408
>Animated might as well be Bayformers for how much it looks like actual Transformers.
You can go fuck yourself. Animated was awesome and so were the toys.
>>5565568
Point being? Robots don't have a standard design.
>>5565568
You didn't make any kind of argument. You're just saying you want your robots to look like humans.

Sold my Armorhide, alongside almost every thing else I had. I'm just now trying to restart. So much regret, but I look forward to going back and grabbing cool figures like this again when I can.
>>5565523
SDCC is getting the sword, and no info on the Takara released has surfaced (you can assume it includes a sword, but no idea if will include the gun).
I honestly want to know who thought it was a good idea to not include those accessories for the Hasbro release.
>>5565799
>SDCC is getting the sword
Sounds violent
>>5565404
What's a fair price range for him slightly used?
>>5565255
That is a great pic, I'll likely order him soon now just to pose him with Magnus.
>>5565832
>>5565561
Wait, what? Is Takara actually going to release something thats not an MP first?
>>5565675
Somebody should tell him it's shit, but I think he has something wrong with him.
Found this guy at anime jungle. it turns into a masago sushi roll, and is impressively poseable.
>>5566134
>it turns into a masago sushi rol
I fucking want it.
Here he is in sushi mode. Coincidentally, I just had sushi today. But none with the eggs nor at a restaurant near the store.
also did some homework and it appears i got the coolest one. everyone else turns into a rescue-bot tier nigiri and a maki roll. the latters look cute though
>>5566150
What are they called?
>>5566152
osushi sentai sharida. there's even a tea cup and rice bowl vehicle. they didnt have those in the store.
>>5566156
the one you have is infinitely cooler than all the other ones, i want it!
>>5566106
He's harmless, if he gets some kind of joy out of it let him have that. It's not like the guy is Chris Chan levels of crazy.
>>5565151
You think this is bad... why?
>>5565186
Noice, hoping for some ramjet or another mp11 like this
>>5566240
I was confused by MP Ramjet at first - just looked weird. Then I looked into the character model, and yeah, he's just a weird looking bastard according to the cartoon. Funky body shape, and of course current Takara Tomy is going to stick to it as closely as possible.
>>5566246
I think they were aiming at partial accuracy to the g1 toys...with the animation models and then here comes the mp's.
I know I won't be liked, but I'm such a massive faggot for the mp11 mold, IF they do a 3.0 for the jets it'll have to have the rear of the robot perfect, as it stands now its all front with very little things to correct, since the jets are pretty much pure perfection, even with the jet kibble issues which have plagued them since mp03.
I can't wait until mine comes, gonna track down a third party flight stand so him and my hasbro boys can stay in formation
>>5566172
all it needs is a cool name, a decepticon name. something that says "it mercilessly unloads an endless flurry of sticky bombs at everything"
>>5566217
Because femmebots are fanfic-tier shitty ideas. Why would robots have gender? Only SJWs and cucks would find genderless robots offensive.
>>5566270
I like fembots for general character variety. robots being just male-based is just plain.
>>5565506
Don't waste your breath. Anon is poor and doing the sour grapes routine.
>>5565707
>robot nakadashi

>>5565707

>>5566299
sauce dis cuteness right nao pls
>>5566308
>I think
>>5565922
I bought Magnus just to pose with him, actually. Although Magnus turned out to be a barrel of fun by himself anyway. I just needed at least one other '86 bot to justify the purchase.
>>5566250
>but I'm such a massive faggot for the mp11 mold
Really? I only just bought my first version of it with MP-11T, and while I like it, I don't think I would ever willingly buy it again. I had long been holding out for them to give the Seeker mold another try, but it seems they're content with repainting/retooling it to high heaven, so I caved when I saw light blue Thundercracker. Same reason I've yet to buy an MP Grimlock. As revered as the mold is, it seems pretty dated.

I hope this shuts everyone up, you can clearly tilt the legs up for skyscrapers if you want

>>5566379

>>5566379
But... they're headmasters NOW.
>>5566394
They shouldn't even be in the first place.
>>5564957

>>5566351
Anon, I assume most people already knew that, the issue was that the thigh to knee section couldn't fold into the leg so it could go all the way to the ground.
>>5566452
Oh man that was funny, you've truly made my day anon.
BTW there was a revoltech rodimus if you're interested, very old though, as for a damashii fat chance considering the companies and their history
>>5566420
I don't think it looks too horrible. I kinda like the beast mode, only thing that bothers me is the kibble on the back.
I also just want a ravage to use with the leader soundwave.
>>5566335
for some reason the more I see of that PMOP, the more it disappoints me.
>>5566469
As it should.
>>5566469
I know, but Takara may save us yet (who am I kidding, no one can save that shit mold).
>>5566355
>It's not g1 so boo-hoo
People like you are why we have call of duty every year.
>>5564957
im sorry, if we can get a Rollbar redeco of Strongarm, theres no reason we dont got this yet
>>5566537
Leave the new shit for the new series, Generations is for the old series, though I will admit I don't see how the base mode affects the robot/vehicle, they all seem like after thoughts so far.
Does anyone feel Generations doesn't live up to it's name? It'd be good if they did more from the other past series (thrilling 30 had some good stuff though).
>>5566555
Trips of truth. Myself I'd love to see some more updated Armada figures- Scavenger or Demolishor especially.
>>5565339
PCC Sledge is surprising posable and expressive, I don't have any pics but trust me.
>>5566568
Agreed, though I wish the shovel joints were tighter so he could wield Throttler as a drill in robot mode.
>>5566568
I just find it funny that his combiner head is the same size as the regular head.
>>5566563
Demolishor and Scavenger would be awesome, but I think the most likely Armada figure right now is Sideways due to the headmaster gimmick.
>>5566614
There's a rumor going 'round that we're getting a big-ass Tidal Wave with a Broadside remold at some point. Hope that's true. Although, the original Tidal Wave toy is still pretty solid.
>>5566620
I just wish he had knees...
>>5566539
How. It should go in the same place.
>>5566568
Always wanted him, such a cool robot and vehicle design.
>>5566614
They'd be really stupid not to do this, so I guess they won't do it.
>>5566620
>big-ass Tidal Wave with a Broadside remold
MUH DICK
It probably won't be a Titan class though, but still.
How would they do Broadside? His appearance changes a whole lot.
>>5566634
They'd just pick a design to homage and update it. Hopefully the more released-toy-accurate one.
>>5566634
It could be like Armada Megs.
They make Broadside, then just paint it purple with a new head.
>>5566644
I'd hope it'd be the toy colours.
>>5566649
I think Hasbro and Takara would do different versions, so you could pick which you like best.
>>5566659
>Cool mecha looking version,
>Doofy hollow plastic shell no-neck version.
Yeah, toootally paying import prices for that one.
>>5566661
It would probably be the other way around due to the comics, you should have to import the cool one while Hasbro go for pic related.
>>5565368
>"I'm a manchild, mentally incapable of working out how being an imported, collector-quality figure can account for a price difference compared to a domestically-available, retail toy for children, regardless of size"
A lot of you fuckers going around, huh?
>almost triple a voyager price
Voyagers are what, 30 bucks now? MP Hot rod is $57 at HLJ. You stupid, stupid shitposter.
>>5566670
Wait, Hasbro's been big on toy-accuracy with their Combiner war releases. So they'd go for the design that was on shelves.
Japan would go for no-neck because it was in the cartoon more.
>>5566334
Alright so those stand-alone heads. Do they go on Deluxe or Voyagers, or are heads all a standard size? I don't see how a deluxe-sized head would look good on a Voyager body, or even a Leader.
>>5566682
All heads fit all bodies.
>>5566679
We'll have to wait and see, if it's even true. Personally I'm more worried about the size.
I want Broadside to scale well with Generations Springer and Sandstorm, but Tidal Wave to be as big as possible.
>>5566682
The Leaders have helmet pieces that go over the heads to make them not look as puny. It's more obvious on Blaster.
>>5566634
I'd guess Voyager is likely if we get one, or at most, Leader sized.
Which is fine. I don't have room for 2ft tall monstrosities.
Picked up CW Chop Shop today and holy shit he is a lot of fun to play with
>>5566634
I didn't like Armada or any of the toys really but Tidal Wave was so goddamn badass. I found one at a yardsale with everything and next to Energon Scorponok it was one of my most fun finds.
To any Taiwanese people, you can get a complimentary Deluxe Groove if you fork out however many tai dollars this is.
Hopefully we'll see if it is a carded pack, which could mean a potential American release.
>>5565187
Does TR Fort Max have a city mode? All the pics I've seen of it has it in robot mode, ship mode, or a new ship mode. They're not trying to pass off pic related as a city are they?
>>5566761
>won't release it in the US
>literally cannot give it away in some place in asianland
>>5566733
I feel like Voyager would be slightly too small and Titan too big. Leader would be perfect.
Any good places to buy TFs in Philly?
Primal looks great.
Also, I wonder whats up with that Movie Bumblebee mask in the bottom corner.
>>5566774
Voyagers are pretty big though. They're what, 7 inches give or take, depending on the figure? Leaders are around 9 or 10, aren't they? I know the CW gestalts are around 11-12 and my CW Megs stands almost as tall as one.
>>5566799
Leader class sounds perfect.
>>5566770
You bet your gonads they are!
One dude said you can make it like the original, but I'll believe it when I see it.
>>5566803
But would they get a Leader slot? I mean, in all honesty, Tidal & Broad should be Leaders with base modes, but right now all we know we're getting is PM Prime and the boomboxes.
>>5566813
That's a good question. Do we have any other candidates that would deserve the spots more?
>>5566675
Voyagers are 25.
But hey. Keep a dead argument going to justify your buyers remorse.
>>5566791
Too bad he's barely voyager size.
>>5566791
Things that could be improved:
-Upper arms black parts are missing the fur texture
-Shoulderpads don't cover the white part of the upper arm completely in ape mode
-The gorilla chest and face are too blueish and the fingers don't have the same color (they should)
-Shoulder cannons are a bit too short, should be telescopic
Things I like:
-Pretty much everthing else
Things I love:
-Pic related. One of the most badass Optimus faces ever.
>>5566837
Technically in scale with MP10
>>5566838
I thought the face mask was toy only.
>>5566843
Nah, it appeared in the show from time to time, as a battle mask that would deploy in combat situations.
>>5566810
He need double knee joints for that, but you can get something similar bending the knees and sliding the calfs if they still work like Metroplex.
>>5566844
Neat, I really need to watch Beast Wars, I just can't find it in physical media in my region.
>>5566843
He closed his mask two times in the show, when he was infected by Scorponok's virus, and when he tried to destroy the planet buster using an escape pod.
>>5566841
>Technically in scale with MP10
No. Mp-10 isn't that big.
>>5566838
>>5566851
That smirk is fantastic too.
The open mouth one could use some paint on the teeth.
>>5566856
>robots with teeth
Am I the only one who loves that? They have to chew their hard energon snacks to process as fuel through their mouth fuel ports somehow.
>>5566761
You are fucking kidding me. They have issues releasing it and they're just giving it away over there?
>>5566874
They're incompetent, that should be obivious by now.
>>5566791
Beast wars a shit.
>>5566913

>>5566412
Hi Sideways.
>>5566772
But they can release Scattershot twice. Fucking retards.
>>5566412
You have a sad life, don't you?
>>5566845
That's terrible. They went through all that trouble to give Fort Max better-than-ever robot and "vehicle" modes, only to drop his main selling point. What were they thinking?
Is anybody else hoping for a more city-like Brave Max retool in the future?

>>5565568
its funny how shitty the DCAU figures are, yet TF Animated's toys have to deal with being transformable but most the final products are greatly poseable and even accurate to the general design
>>5567018
Cybertronian Optimus and Prowl from Animated are still some of my favorite Transformers deluxes ever. Like serious top 10 shit
>>5567018
Why was Animated Starscream such a disaster that didnt look like the show? an MP of him would be cool, imagine all the expressions he'd come with!

>>5566276
I like them because my dick likes them.
>>5567078

>Headnasters
Man what the fuck is up this stupid goddamn gimmick
And the box arts for the TW figures all have the head "attaching" to the body as if it's the coolest shit ever.
>Hey guys, you know those beloved TF characters like Optimus Prime? Wouldn't it be just AWESOME if his head ejected and became a little robot?
I understand it's origins because the 80's was retarded anyways, but why revisit one of the most stupid gimmicks in 30+ years of franchise history, and make a whole line based on it?
>>5567117
Why not?
>>5567117
>dang nasty headnasters
>>5567117

>>5567078
Most of the Animated toys are close enough without needing the MP treatment IMO. Sculpts are alright, articulation is usually adequate if not amazing, so on. It's not even close to the jump from G1 to MP Sideswipe or something. Even less room for improvement than Optimus Primal, and there's already plenty of people in the "it's not *that* different" camp despite the positive feedback.
>>5567129
You didn't get the joke, he literally wrote HEAD NASTER not HEAD MASTER
>>5567145
Back in my day, jokes were funny.
>>5567129
I said why not. I didn't attack. Just answer the question.
>>5567117
>Toys are made for children
>Children look up to their idols
>Want to be just like them
>Know that they will never be one of those big cool robots because they're only human
>BAM
>Headmasters
It's genious.
The thought that it could actually happen would probably sell really well with the kids.
>>5567121
>>5567125
Because it's not really cool at all?
It makes even less sense from a business point of view.
>Kids don't care much about toys like they used to. If their fucking heads ejected tho...
Only people who like itare people who care for the original headmaster characters/toys, but collectors already buy toys anyway.
I don't see how headmasters are gonna attract new buyers/kids, or cater to collectors who don't care for the gimmick
>>5567159
Eh, I guess that's a valid point, but I don't think the TW line seem to emphasize much on the fact the heads are humans though, most people will just see the head as a smaller robot.
>>5567167
>Because it's not really cool at all?
Opinion and all.
The idea of a little vehicle pilot that then combines with the robot is pretty cool to some people.
Unless you're an adult with a mental disability that doesn't know how to keep their shit together.
>>5567171
To be fair, I understand why some people like it.
To clarify, it's making a whole mainline based on it that seems weird to me.
>>5567171
>Unless you're an adult with a mental disability that doesn't know how to keep their shit together.
I guess he's just losing his head.
>>5567174
CW was a whole line of gestalts. Guess they're just going to do theme lines for a bit and then Earth Wars (or whatever) will be ???
>>5567174
Is it out of nowhere? Yep. But again there's no reason not to. Its just for fun. At least it doesn't completely mess with the figure like combining did.
>>5567174
I'm annoyed the heads aren't compatible with the G1 toys. It seems like something that would've been a bigger sales draw to the older collectors, doubly so for anyone wanting a head for their vintage bot without spending $40 for one on eBay, since so many of the 80s HM heads are getting made without a body to go with them. But no, if Hasbro can fuck up an idea, they will.
I also worry that the tiny heads serving as a neck joint is going to be a massive breakage hazard, since that can't be more than a 3mm thick leg in that joint.
>>5567179
Earth Wars will be gimmick-less besides changing from robot to alt mode. Get ready for the 84 guys again.
>>5567189
Sounds good to me. Weren't some of the older CHUG molds pretty shitty?
>>5567196
yes, yes they were.
universe 2.0 Tankor/Octane springs to mind immediately
>>5567196
Some.
Honestly I would like a good non-mp g1 wheeljack. Every one that's released is just off in some way or another.
>>5567179
>>5567180
I guess I just don't like that they're forcing gimmicks in all lines. Feels like we're back to the Unicron Trilogy days.
They already have those minicon things in RiD and all those weird lines like Construct-A-Bots, Kreo, the punchy things, etc. So the Generations line could go gimmick free.
I guess you're right though, headmasters don't mess with the figures much if you just ignore it, so I guess it's nothing to fret about.
>>5567179
>>5567189
>Earth Wars
It's gonna be pretenders, calling it.
>>5567186
New HM heads would probably look terribly out of place on the old toys. And most people would probably want an original head anyway. It's a neat idea, but not something I think would be a big sales draw.
>>5567189
Good, I want a real 84 prime voyager.
>>5567196
Yeah. I'm hoping for new Datsuns, Ratchet/Ironhide, and Sideswipe.
I like Universe Sunstreaker but I don't like the round hood-chest and that awful headsculpt for the sideswipe retool.
>>5567200
Not Ironhide or galvatron? Tankor was better than those 2. The other 2 didn't have to worry about fitting a third mode in either.
>>5567203
>just don't like that they're forcing gimmicks in all lines
At least it's something new.
The problem is the focus is not as spread as it should be. CW was full of characters with more modern toys and tw, while not as bad, is still wanting to focus on only a few. We just had a brainstorm for example.
>>5567189
Well, I hope we get good Optimus and Megatron figures this time around.
It's funny when you think of it, but in 30+ years of franchise and we still don't have "definite" CHUG toys of the two franchise leaders.
CW Optimus was wasted opportunity, as they shared molds with MM instead of making an actual Optimus toy.
CW Megatron... is kinda weird.
Most people have third party OP and Megatrons on their shelves.
>>5567223
What about the original classics? They were literally upgraded modern versions of their g1 selves.
>>5567226
Classics Optimus is totally a definitive toy IMO. The blob-style fists are the only thing that feel outdated.
People hate on the "kibble" but any bash that removes it doesn't look right IMO. Sharp sculpt, great articulation, good design.
If the original bright colors aren't your thing, there are tons of options between all the Takara versions and such.
>>5567223
Well, MP Prime is as perfect as you'll get, and CW Megs is pretty good. I have him, really like him.
>>5567241
Promo pics made CW Megs look really stiff to me, but in hand he turned out to be a great classics default/MP stand-in hybrid. Good buy.
It's weird, he started out super hard to find and expensive online, then everywhere, then right back into bloated price territory.
>>5567226
I like the Optimus mold, but it's showing it's age. Many collectors have since replaced him with another OP figure.
I do like it a lot, but it's time for a new figure already.
NERF Megatron is silly and I wouldn't really count it as a definite version of the character.
I know the G1 version is silly too, but still.
>>5567241
MP10 is perfect, indeed.
I mean for the CHUG line though.
I have mixed feelings about CW Megatron, but I guess he's the closest we have so far.
Still looking forward for new figures of the two leaders.
>>5567245
He still looks stiff to me in person. Those legs just don't do it for me or else I'd go for him.
>>5567249
>NERF Megatron is silly and I wouldn't really count it as a definite version of the character.
>I know the G1 version is silly too, but still.
That's tough though.
Being based on an actual gun is hard to do. Hell even gun colors are hard to do for the US. he's a pretty good figure, though.
>>5567252
I agree. Posing his legs in any fucking way makes him look awkward. I only bought him as a terrible terrible stand in until a new MP Megatron comes out.
This fucker should have gotten a voyager sized toy, if not bigger.
>>5567255
Oh don't get me wrong, not even a geewunner.
I'm not asking for a Gun Megatron, just a Megatron that looks cool and is a decent size, I actually like him as a tank.
CW Megatron would be perfect, it's exactly what I'd like, but the execution isn't too great.
The stiff , awkward legs, and weird shoulders really ruin it.
The figure looks weird in pictures, and fells a different kind of weird in person. It's supposed to be my dream Megatron, but it's just weird, hella weird.
On a more minor pet peeve, his head is huge, making the figure look cartoony. Fine to some, but not my cup of tea, as the Armada variant has a more proportionate head.
I also really like WFC Megatron, would be perfect to me if he was a voyager.
>>5567268
This guy gets it, the WFC leaders were great and should have been Voyagers.
>>5567255
The Hasbro colors are garish as fuck, but the Takara repaints are pretty damn nice. And his gun mode reminds Me of Vash's handcannon. Classics Megatron isn't the best figure, but it's one of the better options out there.
>>5567272
That stealth bomber Megatron should have been a voyager as well. I get that deluxe Prime and Megs probably sell like gangbusters but fucking cut that shit out.
Just got this guy.
The regular version always looked like shit to me, but this guy just looks gorgeous in person. Odd.
His headsculpt is great too, the regular version has a shitty head.
>>5567324
It looks cool, but damn - what a waste of budget overall. One Optimus is plenty. Whatever they put into that could have been put into an even more involved Computron, or maybe another unique weapon or two for the deluxes - which was definitely needed.
Like, holy shit, I don't need every truck dude to have an axe.
>>5567239
y'know, looking at that picture reminds me. we've had all these addons for that mold, and the one thing none of them ever do is have something to stabilize the "door" panels in robot mode.
that swivel joint is the only thing on my classics optimus that's lost tension over the years. it slightly annoys me that I'm apparently going to have to learn 3d modeling and design a brace for it myself, given all the crap people have made to stick on that mold.
>>5567364
It's Optimus only in name to sell toys, it's very obviously supposed to be Nova, just like the Thunderclash one from Beast Hunters.
>>5565339
Scout Hubcap. Suave as fuck.
>>5566549
Sonic?
>>5567239
Fuck those who say the mold is getting outdated.
It's still a solid toy without hollow and flimsy parts.
This is one those toys that are timeless just like Laser Prime.
>>5567441
>Laser Prime
>Timeless
>>5567239
Do they make replacement hands for him? Or on shapeways maybe?
>>5567453
That was the joke.jpg
>>5567457
Except he was right about Classics.
>>5567399
Or just dose it with floor polish.
>>5567453
Laser Prime was the best Optimus for years and years. There are dumb things about it - the colors, the name on the chest, so on - but all of the awesome shit more than made up for it.
You have to consider, for 1995, it holds up really really well.
>>5567239
Meh, he's a neat design, and I admit I got into collecting shortly after his time, but I never really saw the appeal. His crazy back and forearm kibble really turn me off.
Apart from my MP-10, my favorite prime is the recent Legends guy, the Takara version with the shiny paint. He's pretty dynamic. I know a ton of people have this "hurrr, he's a small toy, Optimus is big, he should be a big toy!" complex, and generally hate on Legends, but... this guy does basically everything Classics/Henkei Prime does, and with less forearm kibble, so he's a win in my book.
>>5567475
>and generally hate on Legends,
Who hates Legends? /tfg/ loves Legends, probably even more than the entire MP line.
>>5567475
i want that goddamn model kit grimlock but no one is selling him without buying the whole damn combiner
>>5567483
He's sold on his own on eBay all the time, but he's like $60.
>>5567480
>Who hates Legends?
Not most, but there is certainly a small contingent of people who believe small toys are inherently bad, especially when they're depicting larger characters.
For the record, my favorite Megatron and Shockwave are also Legends. Pic related.
>>5567483
Really? I got him on TFSource for 30 bucks, by himself. That's way overpriced for something that comes un-assembled AND unpainted, though. I just really wanted a little Grimlock. He was a fun build though. The way his tail screws in is dumb because it naturally unscrews itself during transformation.
>inb4 someone gets pissed at mentioning turd party.
>>5567125
>more partsforming
>headsculpts ruined
>all for tiny barely articulated bricks
>fun
Ah fuck it, thread's getting long in the tooth, anyway. Here's a pic I took a couple of weeks ago while building him.
>>5567487
that's way way too much
factor in the shipping to where i am, it'll be doubled
>>5567513
Or, he's actually still on TFSource for 30 bucks.
>>5567475
His side didn't bother me. It's the chest. The head is kind of off too, but the chest bugs me more. I never owned the mold till I found pipes on sale. He's neat. Not amazing, but neat. Considering going for the nemesis prime version.
>>5567529
Size*
>>5567117
I agree when it comes to established characters willingly becoming headmasters, it's stupid, but if it's a small bot that control a bigger body, that works, like how they did it in the HM anime.
>>5567203
>pretenders
I fucking hope so, hopefully they'd do all the decepticon designs.
>>5567894
They'd probably only do the most famous ones and force the gimmick onto the rest.
Personally, I hope it's gonna be Actionmasters done like Krok here.
It would be much easier to do as you just have to do normal transformer and give them an accessory of some sort.
>>5564957
>autosage
It's called a bump limit fgt
