I've just had an idea and after googling couldn't find anything, so I figure this would be a good place to ask:

Does anyone know of a "cheap set" program? For instance, you put in the set you want, set search options(cheap as possible, close to original set as possible(with or without price thresholds), in a certain color, etc.) and it would return how much it would cost to buy your set piecemeal, from somewhere like bricklink.

Unfortunately, I'm not experienced enough to actually make this, and even if I was, I'd still be here asking if anyone else has already done this.

If it has been made, could one of you share it with me?

>>Bunch of jews selling their barely year old sets for double or triple because MUH RETIRED SETS

I see this a ton on CL. Hell, some people list sets still in production at a markup.

Some guy is trying to sell a sealed Ideas Exo-Suit for $75, when you can still get it off Amazon brand new for $28. Another dude is trying to sell a brand new Petshop for $175, when you can still pick it up off shelves for retail. Hell, you can get it of eBay right now brand new for UNDER retail.

>>5552979
>>Some other jew faggot is using it as a business website, linking to Brickpicker for his prices

I see this too, but most people link to laughable Amazon prices.

One guy is trying to sell old SW sets for two or three times their already laughable aftermarket prices. He has a UCS X-Wing for $2500.

Its either shit like that or massive, unsorted random bags/boxes of bricks that they have no idea what is in it, so they just slap $1000 on it, hoping someone will bite.

Free postage?! WHAT A BARGAIN

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B018MVKDQO
WOW I'll take your entire stock at that low price

You can still get great things from jobjots if you're prepared to scour the photos to find something that would cost half the price of the joblot just to aquire via BL. I got lucky and won an almost complete 8001 Battle Droid for £18, but I actually wanted the 12x 16M yellow Technic bricks from the pile of other stuff it was sitting on to finish building [pic related]. The whole lot had something like £150 worth of bits in it.
>>
>>5553042

I can't believe those prices are for SINGLE parts. Those are so ludicrous (especially that second one) that it makes me think the listing is actually an error, or something. I mean, damn.

Usually, for US prices at least they have the decency to give you like, 4, 5, 6 pieces for a dollar or something.

this one. We didn't had lego in small towns like mine. Lego was like some cool-weird miracle thing that exist in big cities and MURIKA (even if its from europe but back in 90s we thought all coll things go from USA).
My mom went on a job thing to the capital city of my country and brought this.
She returned after 3 days at 1:00AM and i was waiting for her all the time and refusing going to sleep because i knew she gonna bring some cool toy that will blow my mind.
And she fucking did. This was one of the best things i could imagine. A shark and a submarine with claws and stuff.
I was doing so much stuff with it. Turning it into a robot and etc.

I still have parts of it especially that cockpit area. And...hm..i guess i should try to build a robotshark with this being a cockpit for a pilot. Nowadays we have so much cool stuff like mixel joints to make this look even more badass.

>>
>>5553821
Agreed. The JW line is probably one of the worst movie line Lego has ever made. Out of the 6 sets, only 2 are actually based on the movie (and they aren't too great either), the rest is just Dino 2.0 with ugly colours.
Did they have to rush the production for those sets? I remember a lot of people were saying Kre-O was going to get the JW license but that was before they pretty much gave up on everything. Lego even removed all JP projects from the CUUSOO/Ideas website at the time. It looks like they got the license from Kre-O pretty late and didn't have time to make proper sets. It's a shame, there were some interesting vehicles in JW.

Guys I'm kinda stumped here. I know the part circled exists in medium blue cause I used it on this figure right? Why are there only two people selling them on BL (one with a min order of $75)? Am I missing something? I need 16 of them for my next build.

I know this is the most minor of minor things, but the way the sword sits on the two clips...is that legal? Surely because of the way the sword is curved, the blade side pushes against the clip slightly, preventing the hilt to be properly clipped in place?

He meant that the blade pushes against the clip on the right, so that the clip on the left can't quite click into place.

> Color Variations:

>Over the years, LEGO colors have been slightly changing, some examples given: current White is colder, not as vanilla as vintage White; Some Tans are yellower than others; Light Bluish Grays also has two shades, one of them more yellow-ish; same goes for Medium Blue; and the Dark colors, namely Dark-Blue and Dark-Red, are a pain. LEGO says they are within their Tolerance Parameters, and therefore we don't distinguish these Variations.

That's an exert from their splash page, so if you do decide you're going to go through with buying from them, you'll probably want to contact the store owner and make sure they're not actually dark azure mislabeled as medium blue.

Have you even built a modular?

Like, 80% of the pieces are just flat plates and 1x2s, 1x4s, 1x6s, etc. bricks.

There aren't all that many "new" pieces, and what is there are just used for detailing.

They're definitely meant to at least somewhat appeal to "the old days" of LEGO. Many of the parts are pretty standard.

I'm guessing that throwing a few standard-ass, generic minifigs in is what helps keep the cost down. We're talking about $150~$170 sets that have 2000-2500 pieces, here.

A themed set with unique minifigures would probably be $100 more.

What is it called? I am recently getting back into lego and have got some spare cash floating around.
>>
>>5554850
6086 Black Knight's Castle. Currently $134 USD on BL from some shop in Belgium.
>>
>>5554810
If sellers are selling fake parts they will get reviews stating such.
>>
>>5554719
Good. The quality of plastic is decent.

dude, relax, there is email for that.

am not charging extra for insurance, i cant afford raising price.

on a side note: found this book with knight robot for same price as regular CMF, i think it's too expensive.

ALSO , Lego Elves magazine is back, this time with baby dragoness.

I agree they are way overhyped around here. They make decent ankles tho.

I think JP stuff will get cheap this summer, there was a lot of over-producing and over-hoarding around christmas. I got that t-rex set for 36$ in february, dont give up hope.

They have those at the toys r us near me. They are like $3 which is expensive for accessories.
>>
>>5554652
Get these how?
>>
Okay I don't know how easy it'll be to understand this without images but here it goes anyway
I'm trying to build something (on LDD for now)
Let's say it's a kind of dragon, so the question is, how do I make the mouth open not like the jaw rotating downwards, but sliding up and down? Is it possible without it falling off or being too floppy?
>>
>>5555186
Easiest way would be to use some bars and clips and have it slide up and down along the bar.

You could also build something with Technic gears and ratchet beams, depending on the scale.

What pieces should I use for this?
I hope this kinda explains better
the mouth should be big enough to fit a minifig inside, maybe just a bit more than that

Try this. Mind the 2x2 boat skid on the roof of the mouth.
>>
>>5555231
Technic axle with stop (at least 2 on each side) and some parts with pinholes. To prevent it from being open you can use tooth bar + gear wheel + worm wheel.
>>
>>5555241
I was starting to make one of these IRL when you posted

I was gonna get that for my birfday
>>
>>5554683
Its not the fact that its seasonal or whatever, its the fact that its fucking nothing. two clips, a plate and a sword, that you can get anywhere else a super rare and good set it does not make. Theres also that studio polybag that was literally a box of coke bottles.

There has to be one guy, in a suit at lego, who is either retarded or just a massive dick and knows what he is doing.

any elves enthusiasts here?
>>
>>5555277
You seem to be extraordinarily upset that a for-profit corporation makes and sells products to give away for free in order to promote further sales.

There is nothing inherently wrong with that sword polybag. Little kids who want a sword and have parents willing to put out a few bucks will appreciate the "free" gift. If you have some weird desire to own an unopened copy of every Ninjago product ever produced, you'll have to deal with that on your own time.
>>
>>5555231
By the way that's a fantastic graphic. Very concise and easy to understand.
>>
>>5554719
most of their stuff looks shit desu

>>
>>5555297
I wasn't being sarcastic, you did a great job for how fast you made it.
>>
So I got an e-mail from LEGO with some kind of Easter Promo code.
Does it only give free shipping?
>>
>>5555288
>oh you mad bro

Always the same bullshit.

No, I personally dont care, it was just shocking to see that they would release something so worthless, and im willing to be it was one of those "buy X amount and get a free gift!" and the gift is fucking nothing.

Just compare that and the coke bottles bag to the recent chicken guy reprint. You get a reprint of a classic collectable, with unique packaging for a pittance (or even free, depending on how you go about getting it), and its one that scalpers have been regularly ass raping fans on with the price.

Its just a shock and then comparison man. Who knows, maybe whatever idiot there that would OK stupid shit like that no longer works for them? Well never know.
>>
>>5554719
I just got some bits from em and think they're good enough for some third party customs. The plastic has that lighter Megabloks feel and makes a hollow clinking sound, as opposed to Lego's more solid sound. If they've got bits you want then there's no reason not to get em.
>>
>>5555309
>the gift is fucking nothing

You sound like a very pleasant person.

Definitely not an enthusiast, I have completely ignored elves up until this year. But I will say some of the new sets look cozy as fuck and the dragons are pretty cute. I'll probably pick one up a some point just for the sake of it.

The minidolls are a bit of a turn-off, personally. But other than that, I can't say I hate them.

Freom Elves, Aira's Pegasus Sleigh.

was it the new mold or one of those old weird versions?

Elves are fun. Their different aesthetic makes them very stimulating to build. Skyra's Castle comes with a freaking magical shower, for pete's sake!
>>
>>5554686
It's $39.99 in Canada.
$135 for the collection. $109 for the Mansion itself, $18 for the Mummy Set. $40 for Mystery Machine.

So yeah, It's an $8 Mystery Machine.
>>
>>5555285

I like everything about the line except the minidolls, and even then they aren't too bad with the hairpieces
>>
>>5555072
its alright it heals and does damage in the vidya
>>
>>5555285
I like the idea and the design around it.
It gives tons of Interesting pieces in different colours lego would otherwise not make.

But I would be really happy with a minifigline elves.
>>
>>5553921
People saving pics of my MOCS is always a honor!
>>
>>5557385
Not that anon, but you did a great job on that. I considered BL'ing the pieces after you posted the finished version the first time.
