Is anyone else experiencing an unusual scarcity of SW buildable figures? specifically the first order stormtroopers. Pretty much every single departgment store in my area has no stock of them, and I fear there's some scalping involved.

My vote for piece(s, technically) of the year goes to the 2x2 (left and right) wedge plates.

However I'm retroactively changing my vote to the 1l bar with towball IF and only if tlg decides to release it in a fucking sensible color like black, white or bley.

Honorable mention to the 1x2x2 inverted curved slope.

2016 has been a great year for new pieces.

What's your villain level, /lg/?

Criminal Mastermind Tier
>Bought a set on clearance at one store and returned/exchanged it for full MSRP at another (bonus points for price matching on top of this)
>Loaded a cart full of sets and pushed it out the garden center to a waiting getaway car
>Bought a set, removed the contents and returned the set full of random LEGO, Megabloks, Trash, Wood, etc.

Supervillain Tier
>Broke into a set in store and took entire bags from it
>Broke into a set in store and stuffed it with other pieces/bags/sets
>Broke into a set in store and stuffed its contents into a cheap clearance toy box

Scum Tier
>Ripped open polybags/CMF pouches and pocketed the contents
>Ripped open a set just for one piece or minifig

Crook Tier
>Pocketed pieces from Pick-A-Brick or Minifig Tower bins
>Pockets pieces from already busted open sets

Wow It's Fucking Nothing Tier
>Falsly requested pieces from LEGO directly claiming they were missing
>Pocketed stray pieces strewn on the floor or shelves
>Price matched to a false image on your phone

I've ordered those from sellers that have, at the lowest, a 99.98% feedback rating.

Greetings,

Question to lego veterans: I want to build the Skull's Eye Schooner, but don't like the cost on ebay... would it be cheaper to buy an Enlightened Bricks "knock off" black seas barracuda and buy the rest of the bricks from lego individually (as well as certain bits off ebay)... or cheaper to just buy the Schooner?

Rather new to lego.
>>
>>5555742
http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?id=4905

This is probably cheaper than anything you'll find on ebay.
>>
>>5555739
Yes. It's Lego.
>>
>>5555747

Cost is roughly the same.

In answer to my original question, would it be cheaper to go about it with my method?
>>
>>5555758
Yes it would, and honestly china has lego beat now when it comes to pirates, both as a theme and the builds themselves.
>>
>>5555760

I agree, the price of their knock off black seas barracuda was very satisfying, and the quality of the bricks was good: the minifigs are rather poor, but beggars can't be choosers.

Thanks for the help!
>>
>>5555767
If you need certain pieces, Bricklink will probably be cheaper than ebay.

I have it. I only kept the TARDIS and the daleks though, and sold the minifigures.

It's OK. I just have the TARDIS built as a standalone entity and didn't bother with the interior, but I intend to mod it so you can open the door or something.

The printed pieces are good but unless you're a fan of the most recent seasons I don't know that I'd bother.
>>
>>5555810
I haven't gotten around to the absolute newest season, but I think the tardis itself looks pretty cool.
>>
>>5555812
Yeah, I had an opportunity to get it for slightly under retail (this was before they restocked it, so the only way to get it was through scalpers charging double) so I bit the bullet and just did it.

I enjoy having a TARDIS, and, since it's not specific to any seasons, it's great for any Doctor Who fan. I enjoy having daleks too, as they're similar in that regard.

So you could always buy it and make the TARDIS interior from your favourite season, or just enjoy the exterior like I do. I stopped caring about the show after Tennent's run so I've been considering doing up a Tenth Doctor figure to go with it.

I got this castle set for my nephew on his first birthday. He is about three now and still a year or so away from using it but I am really looking forward to the day he knows not to try and eat the legos. You see my brother (his father) kind of rekindeled his own love and then my love for legoes. We always got the small sets, the five and ten doller sets when we were kids so since at the time I had plenty of money I splurged at bit for my newphew's birthday. And my brother promised me I will get to be the one who helps him build that castle.

Yeah, I hope he has some sense of structure because my brother fixated on Star Wars Lego when he first found out he was going to be a father. Seriously he got all the desktop sets, those little globes with the tiny ship and pilot that stand side by side. And he has the full sized Lego X-wing. And for Christmas years ago while that was happening I got him the lego Hoth set with the ice cave, wammpa, and the snow speeder.

I was playing with the idea of introducing the idea to my nephew of picking a curtain lego man to represent himself when we play too. I got the idea from Mii's with Nintendo and how it feels seeing yourself doing things in the games. Now suddenly it just won't be some lego man, it will be a tiny lego HIM flying the X-wing or getting into the hulk-buster armor.

So PolandBro, I've come across...disturbing news. I looked up and attempted to quote other Poland-based stores for them to send some some old Chima and Ninjago foil packs on Registered Letter Mail, the same way you sent the Lance figs to me.

Out of 5 stores that I asked shipping quotes from 3 of them said that, apparently, Canada REJECTS registered lettermail from Poland, which is why my order still hasn't come through. I've pocketed small-medium regular sets bags too, letting the empty box behind, but here's the trick, I usually hide the box in other section of the store (where you find towels, bathroom gear, etc, basically blind spots)
However, when I find open boxes in the toy aisles I get somehow mad, because people are stupid and are bad at stealing, they let stuff inside. Stuff that is useful, so I "rescue" those parts too. If you sin, at least do it well.

What's the best website to get a parts list from if I want to rebuild a set? I know I have Royal Knight's Castle, but it's scattered to the tubs of Lego past, and I want a parts list to serve as a checklist as I dig through my old pieces to pull parts.

Also, where can I find the instructions?

Bricklink or Rebrickable.

For instructions, Lego has most of them online.

Okay, so I just got off the phone with Canada Post. They can't do anything because they don't track shit that's not a parcel with fancy shipping options like Express with Tracking and Insurance. Apparently, I can't do anything about it as the receiver, but you can since you're the sender. The only way for you to find out what has happened is if you file an investigation report or something to Polish Post.

I feel like it's too much of a hassle, so don't bother with it. I'll just eat the cost.

Thanks for trying, PolandBro.

This is one reason I love 4chan so much. Sure, much like any other forum out there, cults of personality and little cliques form around certain posters, who then become insufferable hoards that come down on anyone who doesnt fit their status quo, but thats the end of it. They dont really influence anything, and as long as you havent personally offended some invisible anonymous mod or broken any rules, you wont get perma-banned because LQs fans dont like you (and thats NOT a shot at him, I really enjoy his threads and pictures, he is part of the reason why I want to do pics, I just dont have the best equipment available, and dont have a larger workspace yet, but thats going to change in the next month or so.)

After a few months of this, Mike made any discussion of these "Whiteagle Problems" a bannable offense, then labeled my not wanting to do a bunch of figure rigging with fishing line and paper clips on the OFF CHANCE he might actually consider my counter points about his change for the Supernatural Dice a "Whiteagle Problem."

The sad thing is, I probably reply a LOT in these threads to a LOT of people. I have helped people with things, given balanced critiques and bought many things from people here. Ive been called by many names because of a random post here or there, or an angry reply to someone telling me to die, or whatever else. Yeah, sometimes it will get to me and ill go off about it. I dont care what anyone says, if you are told every day to kill yourself and that you are nothing for whatever reason, it WILL start to get to you. Ive made it a point to say I will just practice what im preaching to the ones talking shit, and will just ignore them and do what I do.

So no worries, if I post something and all of you respond to it with bullshit and derail the thread, thats on you guys. I post lego in a lego thread, and its not even offensive (unless my cap punching hitler pic is offensive to some of you).

But yeah, this is the last time im going to say it.

Hey I actually LIKE Lego, it's probably the one thing my autistic scrooge ass can actually be guaranteed to spend money on and the reason on this thread

I also like Brikwars because it expands that much more to do with my building toy collection.

Thing is, they're one of the only real outlets I have in my life right now, so their one of the first things affected by personally life problems.
I rant, yeah, because it's probably the millionth time I've felt trapped in this horrid household situation, and snap-back at quips about "just do x" because it assumes I haven't tried that a dozen times already.

Their some of the few mediums I can go and almost certainly find a common interest with someone over, so they tend to be the first balm I reach for when I need to talk about something.

In some ways the anonymity can be a curse as well as a blessing. It makes it so one person says something and anyone who agrees with it or maybe says something similar becomes that original person. It becomes paranoia on a sickening level.

See: The /pol/anon.

Something was said months ago, and its still talked about and people still call others "That guy from /pol/. You know, the only person who has ever used that board and comes here".

>Why can't you just get a job, though? Not confronting you, I mean, I legitimately want to know what prevents you. Are you disabled or something? I wouldn't fault you then.
Mostly how terrible the local job market is.
I live in one of the vast, middle-of-nowhere parts of Iowa, nobody move out here because there is little to do and vice-a-versa.
The closest "City" is one you may remember from a pre-Jon Stewart era Daily Show: Good old Bear shitting in a Creek, Maquoketa.

It barely breaks a thousand and a half in population, most of which is the inbreeding remnants of the original immigrants who worked so damned hard to make the town an actual center of commerce.
This, of course, was immedeantly pissed away by their successors when the local industry, Clinton Engines, closed it's doors.
Not wanting to attract "Colored Folk" with a John Deere plant, they shoo'ed that contract away, leaving the city with little until the early '00, when a Generator Manufacture and a Dollar General Distribution Warehouse were built extremely close to the county line.
I think both of those buildings have since changed hands, possibly more than once, since then due to Maquoketa having become a shit hole...

The best employer around?
WALMART!
The inherited rich who run things basically exploited the rest of the town, ending up with a huge meth head population who aren't good for much and crave a steady paying gig like being a cashier.
My retired mess of a father got a part time job stocking the refrigerator at a local truck stop...
...He was one of 80 candidates for the position!

In short, it's a sucky local job market that my autistic ass doesn't want to enter into for fear that a suitable standard quality of work makes me a tall poppy.
