>Create a nativity based on a theme with characters from that theme
>Make a Christmas party for people who have no business celebrating Christmas
>Santa Claus's sleigh has broken down! Can you make a fitting vehicle to replace it?
>Make a rally car for your minifig that can drift through the icy winter roads with ease
holy shit timmmus does have molded legs
Wish LEGO would make with pics of the actual figures already.

Still ignoring the Friends Terror challenge, I see.

Yes because some of us don't want to be reminded of serious political issues we experience firsthand irl every day by some teenage edgelord who bitches about people discussing Mega Bloks in /pbbg/
Fuck off, go to /b/ or /pol/ or /v/ or whichever boards is now considered appropriate for this kind of teenage filth
>mrw no Lego 501st battle pack
>have to buy every troop individual
Why even live
Saw these at the store, they're apparently compatible with legos and the pictures on the box make them look pretty good. Has anyone picked these up? I might get them for some "atmosphere" pieces.
>>5323949
Didn't they already do a Spaceman just like that one?

God damn that Satyr look cool. Or Pan, is it a Pan?? Also, that fucking black knight is sooo cool. I need both of those.
>>5323949
That farmer head is going to make a great Joseph Joestar
>>5323997
>a Pan
Pan was a god who looked like an even uglier satyr, not a kind of creature
>>5323965
OP here, I just copy and pasted the previous thing, I don't make these.
Hey block heads! Is there such a thing as articulated Lego midget legs? All the short legs I've ever seen are stiff as a British man's upper lip.
>>5324018
No because they'd be too easy to break. There are third party and bootleg movable short legs but I have no clue about their quality.
>>5324022
>There are third party and bootleg movable short legs but I have no clue about their quality.
They're pretty good but they're all that company sells so it's a pain in the ass to buy unless you're getting a bunch.
>>5324025
Can anyone steer me to those companies? Must have.

>>5323992
>No, thank you, easily one of the worst things to happen to horror comics within the last few years
Just curious to know some good modern horror comics to look into, besides Junji Ito. Oh damn, Uzumaki and Walking Fish would make some fun lego projects actually thinking about it...
MOC time.
>>5324074

Good chunk of the problem comes from the "it has a tv show so it must be good" mindset
both the comics and the show are shit, like the majority of zombie apocalypse genre
>>5324081
>shit, like the majority of everything ever
ftfy
Lots(?) of fucking grumpy edgelords here today.
>>5324069
Out of American stuff, Dark Horse has a plenty of good ones. Out of Japanese ongoing horror comics, Dorohedoro is my fave, and Franken Fran was fantastic while it lasted
>>5324064
>>5324068
>penguin minifigure
also this
>>5324084
Zombie apocalypse is the to-go edgelord horror subgenre, though, as things that are meant to not be taken seriously which start to become serious in general tend to be.
Everything about it screams "edgelord's choice", really. Usually poor visuals that are meant to shock you a bit but not really scare, grumpy unshaven people with guns killing hordes of anonymous enemies, might makes right mindset combined with the might obviously coming from people like the viewer and not those who would likely actually perform the best in similar conditions, and so on. It's shit. It's also the laziest explanation for a horror setting, just like X-Men have the fucking laziest superhero origin. It doesn't have to be bad but it usually is.
>>5324055

You guys ever come across a thread on EB using pics of MOC's that have been posted here before. Just came across a thread dedicated to that one anons A-wing.
>>5324111

>>5324092
So much assblast and so many buzzwords in that post, it hurts to read.
>>5324092
You're an unbearable faggot. Has anyone ever told you that? Stop over analyzing everything because no one cares what your overly critical opinions are on anything. No one asked you how you feel about the zombie genre. Keep it to yourself, art school hipster faggot.
>>5324219
Maybe instead of posting long rants about various media properties that you dislike, you could, y'know, talk about Lego.
Not either of those other posters btw.
>>5324022
>too easy to break
Just because the legs are shorter makes them easier to break? Logic. If anything the legs would be more structurally sound BECAUSE they're shorter. A cube is a stronger structure than a rectangular box. I doubt they would Ben have to change anything about the waist connection peg area and upward.
After seeing this 'meme' last thread I am curious do you guys organize your parts before a build or not.
>>5324235
i didnt use to, but now that i buy sets rarely and make a big deal about building one, i do.
but if im just mocing about, i just keep em in a big unorganized pile.
its part of the creative process.
>>5323986
What the fuck does this want to compete with, Lego, MB or wargame miniature companies? Genuinely curious because it looks like weird mix of all 3 with very few of their individual adventages. The figures in particular are puzzling, both in zombieshit and Game of Thrones sets they make.
>>5323989
>the smiling bread that comes with the indian
ha
>>5324235
I use a tray and 2 bowls for the parts I get in big sets, but I don't put much time into sorting them. Generally how they bag them up - big parts loose, small in bowls.
>>5323949

Meesa had a grand army, but unfortunately I donated all my Lego, years ago, I thought I kept the minifigs but apparently not, now I'm rebuilding my entire library brick by brick anon, imperial army soon, right after I'm done with getting clones.
>>5324310
Sounds pretty stupid considering the amount of brand loyalty all of them have going on combined with McFarlane's poducts being known mostly for being fragile (but hey, maybe miniature market really is his chance considering usual GW shenanigans). Will be interesting to watch how it goes for sure, especially if they'll keep refering to studs as "nipples".
So I redid a supercar I posted here sometime back.
More than likely I'll redo the headlights on this though.
>>5324093

>>5324329

>>5324069
Weirdly, Archie has been doing some great horror stuff. Afterlife, Sabrina and Archie vs Predator.
>>5324404
All Archie crossovers are solid gold.
>>5323986
I've bought a couple dozen sets so far and I'm genuinely impressed.
Extremely durable, but they're a little too tight when they're joined together. It takes quite a bit of effort to take them apart, but because of the durability, you can be pretty aggressive when taking the pieces apart.
They're really well done and everyone has said my models look amazing. Complete disbelief when i tell them that they're legos.
My only complaint is that they've had running changes with some pieces, like the prison cell doors and roofs are a reddish gray or blueish gray.
I really love their GoT minifigures. They're pretty much what I always wanted with medieval knight toys, but i wish there were more medieval sets. The throne room isn't enough.
I don't give a shit about Walking Dead, but I've been buying their sets to make dioramas for my larger scale figures and the sets are just too cool to take apart.
>>5324384
>GW shenanigans?
Games Workshop, the people who make WARHAMMER and WARHAMMER 40,000.
>>5324235
>organize
I enjoy my Lego like when I was a child, multiple boxes and open all bags into one area, mix thoroughly
>>5324528
This, searching for that one crucial piece in the instructions, the moment when you find it, no better feeling.
>>5324361
Looks nice. Can a minifig fit in it?
>>5324235
Is that the Millennium Falcon!?
That's my Holy Grail!
>>5324244
If you break it down it's really just a plastic model that snaps together the same way that Lego bricks connect. I mean, where ever the separation between plastic model and Lego set lies is where these Walking dead sets belong.
>>5324608
Nah it's the falcon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AosE8K6XsrE
>>5324607
>If you break it down it's really just a plastic model that snaps together the same way that Lego bricks connect. I mean, where ever the separation between plastic model and Lego set lies is where these Walking dead sets belong.
I think my biggest issue with them is that they are static bits that just connect like Construction Bricks...
I mean, there isn't any articulation on those figures, right?

If you mean using the numbered bags, yeah. I didn't think there would be a difference going back to just dumping all the pieces out and finding them until I built the Exo-Suit. The bags really do make it easier.
>>5324842
>not dumping all the bags out at once and sifting through for 45 minutes for one crucial piece

i cut my nails pretty short, and iv made the mistake of cutting them the day im building a set multiple times, and they always hurt like hell after im done. doubly so if i misplace my separator or theres lots of 2x2 plates and smaller pieces

I just gotta find a good and cheap buyer, looking to get a set of 4 probably.
I haven't bought LEGO anything in years, but I really want that damn TARDIS set. Seems like it's out of stock or being price gouged everywhere though. Do they ever do re-stocks of the LEGO Ideas stuff or am I screwed on this?
>>5324438

>>5325330
>Do they ever do re-stocks of the LEGO Ideas stuff or am I screwed on this?
They will re-stock, it's crazy right now because LEGO Ideas are big scalper bait and it's Christmas which amps up the buying frenzy.
Don't put it off forever though.
>>5325330
Did you check amazon? Thats where I got mine while everywhere else was saying sold out. Also, funny, enough, the TRU in my area said sold out on the web, went into the store and there were fucking ten of them on the shelf. Dont trust TRUs website for stock....
Fuck, do I get the Sith Infiltrator? Now would be the time since no retailers here carry it, only S@H and you get both the gingerbread house and a C-3PO to recoup some losses.
Now it's expensive as fuck, I could get the last one but I got the newest Naboo Starfighter and I don't know if my Autism would handle having a Obi-Wan with printed legs but not a Qui-Gonn. Opinions?

Get the new one if you want Cockmongler Maul
>>5325502
Cockmaul?
That sounds like something I've read off the cover of one of those Polish Lego mags that get posted here.
>>5325502
That guy looks like the LEGO TV special version of Maul -- the one with too many saber blades and too much sugar.
>>5325478
I have to say, the 2015 Infiltrator is easily the best looking, it has gotten the shape the best and I like how it mixes the look of all previous Sith Infiltrators.
That said, that price is simply unacceptable. The 2011 is just a bit uglier, but a much better price on bricklink and you could easily get that and bricklink a Obi-Wan from the new MTT-set and still be way below the price of the new Sith Infiltrator.
Also that way you end up with a non-retarded looking Maul.

>>5325562
A couple of those blue pins with studs and this grey plate on the side goes a long way to making the 2011 Infiltrator look much better.
>>5325590
Could you post the whole thing?
>>5325591
I've got a few images of My mods, if you mean.
>>5325593
>>5325594
I added the cannon and that angled bit as a bit of greebling.
Here's it plain.
>>5325596
Nice! What do you think about the minifigs? Maul looks badass in the pics.. If you want you can write a short review of the set.
I want to get a Sith Infiltrator since it was one of the first sets I remember getting as a kid
>>5325598
The plate actually extends past the technic plate by a few studs, so I made this as a filler behind it. I think it actually matched with some of the details of the actual ship too.
I also changed the pins on the hinge from an exposed longer one to a black two stud one, then added the sloped brick to also close up that area where the top hinges down.
>>5325601
Before the mods I didn't really like the 2011 Infiltrator. The minifigs aren't bad, though. I had the original Infiltrator from 1999 and despite it being a blocky POS I still liked it. I skipped the 2007 because I thought it was too small and didn't care for the front. I kind of regret skipping it now.
The current one is the best looking one. I'd probably get that one if any, although I'm skipping that one since I still have this one.
Although I'd say the TOS Sith Fury or Kylo Ren's ship are both better than the Infiltrator.
If you want something cheaper but similar, I'd also say look for the Rebels Tie Advanced Prototype, as the build for it is amazing and the minifigures are superb.
>>5325607
Do you think the new one is worth double the price?
>>5325615
The 2015 one for $180? Absolutely not. It's retail price is $90-$95. It looks worth that amount, better than the 2011 one, which I didn't think was worth the $70 (but it was My Xmas present from the parents, so I can't complain).
>>5325628
See here's the problem. Cheapest I can get 2011 is around 65 bucks on BL.
The 2015 one I can only buy from S@H, which is priced at (calculated to USD) 129 bucks
>>5325632
Yeeesh. I'd say if you're in for doing some customizing it like I did with Mine, then go ahead and go for it. But like I said, I didn't feel the base model was quite worth it (I didn't like how gappy the front section was and the technic bricks on the sides are really ugly).
But I wouldn't pay more than $100 for the 2015 Infiltrator.
>>5325607
>Tie Advanced Prototype
Different guy, but Tie Advanced is definitely next on my list now.
I love the whole V-Wing–Tie-Fighter line of starfighters.
I've kind of ignored it because it's Rebels and I don't pay attention to that stuff but your comment made me investigate a bit and wow, I really like it.
you think lego would be more opento different molds of legs now that goat legs opens up the possibility of it?
>>5324895
i recognize that art style
>>5325668
They're not even the first special ones, Monster Fighters featured that robot leg, and there are pirate peg legs too, and Darth Maul's robot legs, and the Atlantis/AQ squid legs, and snake tail from Ninjago... Not to mention the prototype alien from the 80s with molded legs.
What you'd like to know is whether they'll start using this stuff more often. Which is unlikely, as the same thing happened with arms and hands already (chicken guy's wings, shark guy's fins, robot arm from Agents, rock monster arms, now also the NK buff armored arms; also hook and claw hands) and yet their usage is rather limited because normal arms and legs still usually do the job just fine, especially now that prints and those double-colored pieces are so commonly used.
>>5325680
Forgot the pic. The entire interview with classic space designer(s?) where this fella was shown was dumped here a few threads ago, really nice read. It's funny how back then designers wanted the themes to tell stories already, and now some fans consider it a blasphemy for some weird reason.

I was kinda surprised i managed to poop out another car like this with the parts i had.
I also considered using the classic space balloon tires on it, but went with rather rarish sand blue rims with more conventional tires.
the back has a pretty nice curve to it, even if the taillights are a tad more blocky.

You should see the negative Nancy over in the Glyos threads. You can tell it's the same dude because of the way he states certain things. He's always there shitting up everyone's positive moods. Says something negative about everything, and seems to only be there to argue. Gotta wonder what people's lives are like when they need to shit all over the forums like that in order to... Feel better about themselves or something? Too bad there's no vote/ban system, lol.

I didn't want to spoil the surprise by posting it before the game, but now that the episode is over, here's the Baskin-Marlin I made. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
The chassis is based on the car I made for CRIME TIME. I'm pretty sure I named the red car at some point, but I can't remember what it was now.
The downside of this build is that it uses a lot of plates, so I have to squeeze everything to make sure there aren't any gaps before each shot.
Here's the back. I don't have any of those 1x2 SNOT plates in black, but honestly, I think it might look better with the gray pieces. I could be wrong.
Already showed the trunk opening in the episode. The hood opens too, but I don't want to spoil what's under that until it gets seen in the game.
>>5326361
i mean, look at him. he's definitely not in the least bit scared to be mashed into a pulp, or to have his eyes gouged out and his elbows broken, to have his kneecaps split and his body burned away
and his limbs all hacked and mangled
I made sure it had a stick shift, because what's more manly than shifting a manual transmission? Had to crank up the lights to illuminate everything, so apologies for how dirty it looks in this shot.
You can see what I mean about the plates gapping all the time.
Top view of the seats. It fits two minifigs just like the red car, although Goldie's hair is too long and goes down farther than the back of the seat, so she has to have her hair on the side whenever she's sitting. Most non-Friends hairpieces are short enough to work, though.
I just now realized that the wheels are different colors.
Goddammit.
But I guess they didn't get switched until I took these pictures, so never mind.
Anyway, that's my new car. It used all but four of my black curved bricks, but I had a lot of fun making it.
>>5326878
>what's more manly than shifting a manual transmission
Britbong here, I only know manual, and I don't understand why automatic is even a thing. I like control. I like engine braking. I can afford to buy a new clutch and I can fit that shit myself. Is it just convenience?
Pic of some two-year-old MOC for the image limit.
>>5326060

>>5326878
Can we see under the hood/boot yet? Or is that spoilers?
>>5326889
Convenience is probably a big part of it.
Anyone have any six-wide two-seaters I can look at?
>>5326896
Can't look under the hood yet, but as you can see there's no junk in the trunk. It went through a few designs before I settled on this; there's no empty space inside when it's closed, but I figured that if somebody rolls for something fun to pop out of the back, I can just use the underside of the trunk lid as a connection point.
Here's a mech I designed today.

Ameriburger here, I'm convinced it's because it's more complicated and thus makes the car manufacturers more money when it has to be repaired because they can charge more for the parts and for training on how to fix it.
But I also think the two-party system and career politicians are the roots of most of our issues in the USA, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Or whatever you Brits take opinions with. Tea or scones or fishychips or whatever.
(NOTE: this is meant in good fun, please do not take offence or offense.)
>>5326947
Opinion noted; also don't worry about causing offense - we've had a gutful from the French, and we taught the Aussies everything they know. We just ended up different because the EEC happened and our dangerous animals are either too small or edible.

>>5326972
I remember the sound VIVIDLY. It's pretty nice that the bulbs still work - those 9V systems with the extension plates and the whole EVERYTHING were pretty comfy. I could have pestered my folks for a monorail set, but my older brother was a spiled bitch and I saw how they reacted to him wanting stuff, so in restrospect I am glad that I didn;t get something that I would have long lost and be fuming over how much I could sell it for if it wasn't all dented, missing a box, missing instructions and probably covered in mouldy chocolate.

uses the same technique as you did
the trick is getting the doors as high as possible under the minifigs armpit for it to look non gappy and have the proportions be natural.
So i use a combi of brackets under the door that also accomodate the off-set minifigs bum.
>>5327038
another trick for larger vehicles is to use these old zigzaggy parts (outlined red) to create a cockpit of sorts. A cockpit that doesn't use too many pieces and adds to the structural integrity a lot.
It is rather hard for the car's wheelbase to be short and the ride height to be not super high at the same time though.
>>5327614

Yeah even the midi. I love that scale because it feels so swooshable unlike the bigger falcons.
>>5327622
Hey, that's a sweet technique. These cares are all low-rider convertibles, so to keep the doors as low as possible I used these pieces on the Baskin-Marlin and attached the door to one of the studs. Might have to steal your idea for a deeper cab.
>>5327626
I actually used these during the first build of Will's car, but they got in the way with some of the stuff I wanted. For a "regular" car, they work really well.
>>5327844
>tfw someone posts a picture you took
>and it's to make fun of NCS rules

>>5327852
"Illegal" doesn't mean the police are going to raid your house and take away your Legos. It just means that the build puts an unrecommended level of stress on a piece (or pieces) which can cause them to break ahead of schedule.
>>5328035
wtf, never knew this was even a thing.
Looked it up, there were only two midi sets released ever. Probably best.
>>5328029
>What, there's actually a non glowie ghost?
>>5328029
Not usually. There is, however, the "classic" ghost, and the "modern" ghost. Both glowie (your mileage may vary on the glowiness), both ghostie.
>>5328044

>>5328049
>implying there will not be a carrie style blood transformation of a ghost in the next halloween episode of Sunnydale heights

It still sounds autistic as fuck and fucking stupid as hell.
"Illegal Connections" makes it sound like this is a competition where you will get disqualified. And honestly, I would NOT be surprised if there are lego forums and groups that WOULD kick you out for illegal connections, as it seems some of the fans are that fucking stupid.
>>5328060
Calling them illegal does sound that way, but it's become a common (and perhaps official) term, so we just use it. Maybe someone out there thinks calling a brick's nubs "studs" is stupid, because it only reminds them of assholes on the beach, but there's nothing to be done because it's an established term.
And of course there will be plenty of autists in a creative hobby. Or any hobby I guess.
>>5328060
you're only stupid if you get upset when people enforce rules you don't like
>>5328049
>Did you just buy that because you wanted it?
Yup. I've been looking at it on Bricklink for YEARS, but at $100+ a pop, I could never justify it to myself. Then they went on "sale" and I figured "Merry Christmas to me!"
>>5328053
>Prototype shell amirite.
Probably more "a Legoland in Germany needed five red ghosts for a display, so the factory churned out the bare minimum of 5,000, warehoused the other 4,995, and then a few handfuls of them mysteriously found themselves in the pockets of warehouse workers". Actual selling price: about forty-eight bucks on cracklink. Looks like Magicbricks was sitting on a pile of them, because they only had one listed until I bought it, and then they put another five up.
The piece is also available in black, trans-clear, and glow in the dark trans, but I was really only interested in the red one.
>>5328065
Not necessarily. It's okay to discuss the rules, and if you see a problem with them, it's okay to complain.

>>5328096

>>5328079
I dont know man, looks to me like shes enjoying it secretly! Illegal in canada though.
As for the term, I just think it sounds retarded. Why not call it "non-standard connection" or "NSC" for short? Sounds a lot less autistic and not as elitist and in your face.
>>5328098
>Better than that
ftfy wink wink
>>5328098
Oh god
>>5328096
Yes. The Laws of Legal Building of course started in Denmark, but with the popularity of LEGO and other associated automatic binding brick brands rising in the rest of the world, countries such as the United States have started implementing them.
Of note, there have been three cases of arrest due to illegal building in North America, all within the last decade.
>>5328101
It originated in an internal thing for builders working at Lego - they're connections that put more stress on the elements than they're designed for, and thus are against the rules for official sets - thus, "illegal".
>>5328101
Different strokes for different builders. There's a bunch of people who whine about the term AFOL because they think using an acronym is autistic and elitist.
>>5327626
>>5328041
If you're into something slightly bigger (7-wide) here's a layout and door design combo I've used on my builds for a few years now.
Disadvantage I suppose is that the vehicle needs to be built one stud than you may prefer overall, though the advantage is that you have an opening door/window combination.
I'll just leave this here lads.
>>5328164
>value 50 Euro
I know it's an attempt to make you think you're getting a nice bonus "for free", but that padding seems a little silly.
So here's what's been bouncing around in my head for a couple of days now: a three-stud-wide cockpit. Minifig can't quite sit straight up with his arms at his sides, but it's better than I was expecting.
>>5328164
Only a true retard would fall for that obvious con.
>>5328108
I try to keep them 6 or 4, but that's a neat way to do it. Sort of similar to how I made these taxi doors, but your method is a lot more space-efficient. I could probably live with an extra half-stud offset on each side.
>>5328183
that's some nifty engineering anon.
>>5328183

WHY HAVEN'T YOU BUILT IT YET
Alright Lego fans, I've got a brilliant idea. If you're familiar with the Dungeons and Dragons, there's a good chance you know of the Illithid race. It's a very powerful humanoid monster race with a cthulu type head, and it's also a master evil wizard, basically. So I was thinking about how to make a Lego version and here it is.. Anyone have the pieces to replicate it?
>>5328164
Buncha freakin' amateurs in here
>>5328186
I build in a mix of 6 and 7. 6-wide forms the chassis of the vehicle as well as the roof, though the fenders and doors bring it out to 7.
When it comes to fig-fitting, that's what I've found to be most effective.
>>5328201
>price guide for that fig

>>5328190

>>5328191
Don't have the right pieces on hand. I know I don't have a set of those particular wheels at all, and to go bigger would require re-jiggering the axles - not terribly hard, but the cockpit was the main thing I wanted to get "on paper," so to speak.
