Little 10 year olds don't really know what Kim Possible is though. I would love to see it happen too but lego has to sell stuff for the main demographic.
Post prototypes, I love seeing this stuff
Okay, so I'm thinking about making a Lego Argonian, and a Lego Ape-man, like from the classic Planet of the Apes films. The bodies shouldn't be hard, but does anyone have ideas for the ape/lizard heads, and the lizard tail? Do pieces that would work already exist? The only ones I know of are the stupid mascot helmets for the Godzilla and King Kong costume CMFs.

Legend of Chima gorillas have printed heads that look like PoA apes, they come in white, grey, black and brown.
I'm not sure why do you have the cmf lizardman because that's the best way to go and the only one with a tail, the only other option are Chima crocs and that Batman crocodile guy (who's, however, rather pricey nowadays iirc)

Oh my gewderz! That's a hot set.
The guy Lego screwed over when it came to the ghostbusters ideas set got the new official set early and did a time lapse check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IfdaCr1EaI
How much longer do you think the Kwik-e Mart will be around for? Pussied out of getting it today.
>>5328651
"screwed over"
He's been such a whiny bitch about the whole thing.
Lego very likely had it in development before he put his project up. Maybe they should showed it to him when they had a chance and done an NDA, but he's acting like such an entitled fuckwit over a licensed set of an existing building.
>>5328700
I'm not normally one to point an accusative finger at LEGO but it was pretty strangely coincidental
But who cares, guy made a MOC and got a free, better version of it early. He wasn't even that pissed about what LEGO did.
WEW LADS.
About 3/4 of the way done with the sea cow......holy SHIT I want more beast ass pirate ships, or at least wooden boats in general.

If anything, Lego should've discussed the set with Brent Waller, the guy who made the Ecto-1 project. He had a firehouse project up way before the other guy, but he doesn't seem to be pissed.
>>5328747

>>How big is your collection?
Let's put it this way: my Permanent Roommate wants me to have a Lego room. A room dedicated to my Lego habit.
You know those big flat under-the-bed plastic containers that hold, like, a million gallons of stuff? I've got six. Plus a two-foot pile under the table in the living room.
>>Have you sorted it? Completely?
Aw HELL naw. I want to, but there's the fact that it'd take longer than man's been on this planet to do it...
>>5329004
>my collection was given away, began rebuilding my collection not long ago, still have a shit ton more Legos to get though
>the most I've sorted Lego is having minifigs and small technic pieces separate, never more than that
>quite a while
>what containers?
>I use plastic buckets
Good value? Thinking of buying
>>5328996
take it one handful at a time
separate primarily by piece type, color secondary
>>5329004
I'd guess 20 gallons
except for things I have built and some new stuff, yes
a few months
$200ish
I use both, tupperwares filled with baggies organized by 'theme' (technic stuff, space stuff, vehicle stuff, standard bricks, etc.)
I have found an old lego set and i want to open it but i dont want the tape to rip the box. Are there any good ways to get tape off?
>>5329148
if its external tape and not glue, id say just cut it open and leave it on. its not like the tape will do any damage at this point
>>5329023
I'd help sort it if you paid me. Or gave me some, lol.
Hulk take wrong turn!
Hulk think hulk lost
>>5329004
somewhere around 150K pieces, sorting never ends, cost of containers is marginal by comparison, bags are useful for extra sorting within the boxes themselves but not on their own
>>5328490
I second this..

>>5329275
>>5329004
>How big is your collection?
I have all my childhood stuff + my brother's + the early 60s stuff from my parents.
these are my sorted parts, not including another room littered with built MOC stuff ofcourse
>Have you sorted it? Completely?
Pretty much,
see pic related.
Small tub for 2+wide bricks and baggies with wheels. Containters with lid for a smaller taxanomy of more specific parts.
another tub for completed minifigs.
>How long did it take?
>How much did the containers cost you?
6ish euros per case
>Are bags better than boxes?
nah. They can be better for accomodating larger amounts of pieces, but on the other hand it can be a pain to fiddle that one part out of them. Boxes can have the same problem but atleast they open and close easily.
>>5329004
>How big is your collection?
Estimating at around 250+ Lbs.
>Have you sorted it? Completely?
75% of it, no.
>How long did it take?
~25-30 hrs?
>How much did the containers cost you?
There were/are various tubs, buckets, bags and sets, ranging from trading to $250 for 45/50 lbs - two containers full. Try buying $3-$5 a lbs in bulk, garage sale, fleamarkets and craigslist.
>Are bags better than boxes?
Still sorting and figuring it out.

more heads is always a good thing, and theres a nice variety of beards and females
>>5329362
Some of these are somewhat rare (the bearded one is only in the biggest city polar set and for some reason there are very few of them on bricklink, for example), it's not a horrible deal if you don't mind fleshies but if you just want material for random citizens you can find better ones, I think.
>>5329362
The bottom left fleshie looks like sabine
>How big is your collection?
No idea... 200lbs maybe ? like 6 IKEA plastic crates
>Have you sorted it? Completely?
Yes, but no perfectly, about 80%
>How long did it take?
2 month on and off
>How much did the containers cost you?
Nothing, I used an old nails and bits sorting furniture my grand dad had.
>Are bags better than boxes?
Depends on many many things.
>>5329004
>How big is your collection?
Totaling up all my sets and bricklink orders, just over 20k pieces.
>Have you sorted it? Completely?
Almost, I've got a couple 'miscellaneous' categories for stuff that doesn't fit anywhere.
>How long did it take?
No idea, it's an ongoing thing.
>How much did the containers cost you?
~100 in total
>Are bags better than boxes?
No. I've got drawer containers and big flat boxes stacked together.
I find this drift parking tower on lego's website, 5 seconds later they take it off, maybe they didn't want me to know XD

Reading the article? He does. A LOT.
If you could choose anything to be a Lego theme, what would you pick?
REALISTIC: Futurama, Spider-Gwen, Wreck-It Ralph
FANTASY: Vocaloid, King of the Hill, Kill la Kill
>>5329637
I second Spider-Gwen. I second Spider-Gwen a lot. I saw the head for Elizabeth Swann earlier today and got excited 'cos for some reason I thought it was Gwen Stacy.
I wanted Gravity Falls in the Disney CMF a lot, too, but I'm happy with Stitch.
>>5329637
Why the very specific examples?
Anyway...
>Futurama
Doable considering the existing simpsons license. Profitable? not so much considering that the minifig series is shelfwarming in my area, and some anons from other countries report the same. Doesn't help that the Simpsons series has no affordable set options to push people to actually get into the line.
>Spider Gwen
Unable to give a single fuck about this. Sorry.
>Smash-it Steve
Troublesome as fuck unless you stick to the OC from the movie. In which case it would be fucking A having a Sugar Rush polybag/small builds, like some sort of spiritual successor to the Racers line. But we already have Speed Champions so I guess that goes out of the list.
>Vocaloid
Can see it as a Friends-type subtheme and jewing it out with different outfit variants and accessories. But build-wise it would be too similar to the music tour wave TLG is handling at the moment.
>King of the Hill
Uh.
>KLK
Literally zero building potential, I'm not even going to start with the character designs.

In theory you could just fill it with small rocks and the plastic bags to the appropriate weight and return it if you're good at resealing the tape.
>>5330095
I feel like shit saying this, but when I was a kid I once bought a Lego set, took the minifigs and certain parts from it, claimed it was a defective set, then went back and had it returned for a new one. I feel so shitty thinking of it.
>>5330095
I steal Legos from elementary classrooms, and even I wouldn't do that.
A few months ago, somebody posted a picture of a returnscammed set they bought at a Walmart that was filled with candy and a bag full of dirty Lego pieces that weren't the pieces for that set.
I said it then and I'll say it now: they should have kept the dirty pieces when they returned it.

Having said all this, I think the WoW characters would work better as they were, with Megabloks figures as I see the franchise more fit as an action figure kind of thing than building blocks per se. Still, I am very much curious what Lego's take on it would have been..

Halo: unlikely especially with the whole MB thing.
Man from UNCLE: fantasy but this would be awesome, plenty of new suit designs, and a nice collection of vehicles and spy accessories.
LotR: possibly either a D2C Minas Tirith or a cmf line to fill in characters and armies. Lego really messed up the last wave, I mean Mouth of Sauron before the Witch-King, really?
Any historic line
Honestly shouldn't complain about the current line-up, but with the move away from Middle-Earth, I need some more earthy toned part packs at least.
Really for me licenses are just a convenient excuse for Lego to bypass their own rules in set design when it comes to modern weaponry and violence, which I'm totally okay with.
>>5330554

With the amount of Doctor Who shit in LEGO Dimensions, from characters to locations, and easter eggs, there is no way in hell they aren't working on a full line for it.

A space pirates theme with at least as many aliens as SPIII.
Something like Monster Fighters but just with monsters alone, pretty much just monster-ified City, I guess.
Another theme like Orient Expedition, with a group of explorer figs and locations based on different culture each wave - I'd particularly love to see something Aztec-themed or non-bonkle Maori/Pacific islander in general theme.
Spyrius II, though the CMF evil robot will always be a Spyrius guy in my heart anyway.
Out of licensed stuff: Hellboy/BPRD would be great, I also still want a Discworld theme even if the Ideas project failed. HP making a comeback would be nice too.
>>5329476
Isn't this dude pretty much Chinese Banksy? Some of the points he raises are correct but he's pointlessly pretentious about everything and his art efforts are mediocre at best and puzzling postmodernist shit (like the video of dropping an old vase) at worst.
>>5330844
I didn't mind seeing Mouth of Sauron at all especially since he's pretty ok as basis for late Numenoreans, but yeah, it's really weird we never got a proper Witch-King (I'm not counting the bizarre Hobbit one), not to mention Eowyn, Faramir and Denethor.

Mines are all in the "never going to happen in any way" camp.
I'd love some minifigs of the Knight Sabers from Bubblegum Crisis, or of the various characters from the Harebrained Shadowrun games.
Actually, I'd like a Shadowrun theme, or any cyberpunk theme, really.
A GITS set with Major and Batou minifigs, and a Tachikoma they can ride in would make me happy.
>adam west batman sets
>mad maxesque theme(cars and gangs)
>LEGO City Zoo and circus.
>more diverse stuff in the heroes line(how many captain americas, ironmen and batmen do we need).
>a new lego movie, because the sets that we got last time where so creative.
>mythologie (greek,egypt, norse)
Never gonna happen.
>horror icons
>gremlins
>>5331133
>adam west batman sets
We're getting the batcave from this show next year apparently.
>horror icons
Not as a separate theme, but there's already a Bela Lugosi lookalike and all lego Frankensteins were based on Karloff, ultimately Lego's only missing a proper Invisible Man and maybe German horror icons like Nosferatu and doctor Caligari if you want to count these (and Caligari is easy to make anyway)
>>5331136
A nosferatu would be great and I would also like a golem.
But I am talking about more modern stuff. Like a creepy hockey player, ghostmask guy, spooky janitor, possed doll, chainsaw hero, sm demon, creepy clown, hunting alien etc etc...
It's wierd that they still didn't make a hockey goaly for the ???minifigs.

Revival of the old Train theme, letting you buy "army builders", train style, smaller sets with single trailers or maybe just a few, along with single locomotives, a crane, the list goes on.
Basically, train sets under the 200 dollar pricepoint or whatever it is.
>>5331149
Most of these you've listed would either be too boring/not different enough from City-esque figs to be made, asides from Predator who's hardly a horror icon.
Golem's pretty obviously gonna happen sooner or later although I'd expect a DnD-inspired stone guy instead of a folklore golem, I'd say Nosferatu is a possibility too because they did most other flavors of vampire already. What we really need is a generic Igor/hunchback, because over last 5 years we got multiple Frankensteins and mad scientists anyway and the only Igor-esque guy is from 2002.
In general I really hope they'll do another horror/halloween cmf theme. Something like:
>Nosferatu
>Igor
>the invisible man like the other anon suggested
>Aztec mummy
>mothman
>not-xenomorph
>golem
>generic malicious top hat guy as a stand-in for doctor Caligari/Mabuse/whatever
>Frankenstein's bride
>vampire hunter
>not-El Santo
>voodoo witch doctor (iirc we were meant to get one in MF but the zombie groom was made instead)
>maybe a female mad scientist since Lego loves blindbag genderswaps
>>5331078
>Something like Monster Fighters but just with monsters alone, pretty much just monster-ified City, I guess.
Yes please
>>5331133
>mad maxesque theme(cars and gangs)
This would be great. Sorta unrelated, but about two years or so ago I had a dream about a line that I think was called Diesel Knights or something like that. The line's primary colors were black structures with trans-clear as detail. The larger sets came with a tan version of the space crater baseplate or a regular tan baseplate (this was just before they started selling tan 32x32 baseplates). All of the structures were designed to look like buildings that had been burned almost to the point of collapse. I distinctly remember one of them was clearly the shell of a former McDonald's, and wondering how they managed to make it without getting sued.
Anyway, a line of post-apoc junkercars would be outstanding.

I guess they're always gonna have a Death Star UCS available and they're finally replacing the obsolete old version with a new one, I can't wait to get figs without lifeless black eyes
>>5331377

This is the inaccurate version, I'll post the "normal" one in a minute.
More accurate version.
Really it's only 3x3 in length and width but there's an extra 2x3 plate here. I'd recommend using 1x1 plates for the mouth as opposed to the 1x4.

I just got paid today. It's tempting to just Bricklink some of my stuff but I can wait.
>>5331859
AFAIK, there's nothing wrong with it. From a buyer's POV, it's a tad more convenient, but it feels a little bit skeevy for no adequately explored reason.

You guys don't mind a repost, do you?
>>5332065
Anon is correct!
Also I expanded on the idea a little
How do people manage good head/face designs? I just gave up, made a crappy semi-face, and went Elysium with it.
>>5332110
Depends entirely on scale and what you're going for.
You're working at a very large scale and you're trying to go for realistic facial details, which is admirable but looks uncanny as hell. Lego tends to lend itself well to more cartoonish, caricature-like or robotic looking faces as well as abstractions.
Frankly if you just deleted all of the facial structure there and just colored the white plate as the face it'd work out immediately. However, I get the impression that wouldn't suit you.
>>5332138
I'm actually not opposed to clearing the facial detail for something more weirdly mechanical, but I like the faceplate transparency.
The lips worked better on the large-scale Cappy that I'll never finish, anyway.
That being said doing a "realistic" face at the scale you're working at isn't impossible.
Still, cartoonish faces are way easier to manage.
Abstracted faces also really help with making creations look cute.
Personally I always prefer these kinds of faces.
>>5332144
Yeah, the constraints of the faceplate and some of the internal structure (there's a pilot inside) make it pretty narrow for fitting stuff further forward inside the plate.
I could probably try again and make a decent face without the mask, but I don't know, the mask might work better with the 6ft ponytail hair I'm planning.
pic related is the Cappy WIP the basic lip design came from (using ox horns which are a better shape than the viking horns)
>>5332150
Do you mean Cappy as in the character from Robots? Interesting if so.
Anyway yeah. I usually prefer to think of entirely blank faces as just plain faces rather than masks.
It's not altogether impossible to add some details to faces at smaller scales. Hugebricks did it with Moenicle, Eero did it, and other guys pull it off as well.
>>5332168
What are those tentacle hair pieces?
>>5332174

>>5332176
Neat!
Bonkle has so many cool pieces.
>>5332168
>Do you mean Cappy as in the character from Robots?
Yep. Has been sitting at that stage for like a year, though.
Eero is kind of cheating. LDD lighting doesn't really have shadows, so batarang eyes for example don't work nearly as well.
>>5332183
Everything looks a little better out of LDD, plus it's a legal connection with parts that exist! No cheats there.
Don't think about how thinks look in LDD too hard, just think about whether it's physically possible. That's what I do.
Reposting, but here's a good example. A little while ago I reverse engineered Tattun's Woman-type. Looks weird doesn't it?
But IRL she looks pretty great.
I posted this a while back as I mentioned, though I hadn't posted that screenshot. If you check the weekly archive or the fgts archive you can see more of her weird, long head and how accurate my copy may or may not have been.
LDD is limited. Still, life is what really puts a good MOC to the test.
>>5332189
I don't really have the budget for physical stuff, and I know from my Bionicle years that anything at this scale would have to compromise looks for the ability to stand. This thing doesn't even have neck articulation really.
Yeah, LDD really lends itself more to hard-edged stuff like spaceships and vehicles than humanoids.
Part of the reason for building at this scale is I fucking HATE arms and they might actually be easier to build this large, plus it lets my try for compound-part curves that are trickier or impossible smaller.
And a screenshot that really -is- a repost, without the lines.
Like I'd said last time I'm pretty sure this is mostly accurate, even with the head being as odd as it is.
>>5332200
Well shit that's impressive.
Motormann made stands for his stuff. It's not gonna happen, but it'd be really impressive to see that mighty lady of yours.
We also had another fellow post a fuckhuge articulated robot of his a thread or two back, pretty cool stuff.
>>5332200
Compare this thing, where I pretty much gave up because I can't get the upper arms to not be shit shape-wise. It's a bitch to get anything that's not a cylinder or square as fuck at that scale.
>>5332208
Yeah, even if I had the money it'd take some massive recolouring (I'm too attached to pink parts).
Honestly the shoulder sockets on this thing are too fucked up anyway, I either need to do silly 80s shoulderpads to get extra attachment points, or build the upper torso out wider to go trannymode.
>>5332210
If you replaced the arch bricks and round plates with some curved 1x3 or 1x2 slopes and curved wedges you could get something a little nicer.
Mouth is also really odd IMO, but pretty clever.
>>5332219
It's had a few different shoulderpad designs(and haristyles), but I'm more talking about the biceps.
Lips are basically a compromise due to the tiny space involved and the way the connection had to face, like of blowup-doll-eqsue but oh well.
>>5332228
Ah. Sorry to hear, then, anything that I'd try to suggest would definitely be too blocky then. What's your flickr again?
>>5331083
Yeah I like Mouth of Sauron as much as the next guy, just not as much as I like the Witch-king. I actually have quite a few of the hobbit Witch-kings and they make excellent generic ghouls, not very Tolkien looking though.

i really wish the front wheel on the split form was actually a wheel, and/or there still was some sort of cockpit or control space.
when the thing splits up, they leave 60% of the vehicle behind, and 100% of the guns

>>5331816
>>5332103
>nexo-Cowboys
>westworld is finally here
love it
just wish the wagon also hovered, or was a little more techy
>>5332110
that is disturbing in all the right ways
>>5332256
if you're looking for more joints, or weird parts, mixels are a nice way to flesh out variety with the beasts. i was a fan of both lines for the same reason
>>5332299
>when the thing splits up, they leave 60% of the vehicle behind, and 100% of the guns
Isn't is supposed to be a ballista or something?
>>5332254
I totally forgot about that guy.
>>5332313
but the pilot, and his two backup robits all left
they just abandoned the thing and said "fuck it, airplane and motorcycle modes activate"
>>5332313
And it has flickfire missiles after the split.
>>5332323
Suicide vehicle, designed to keep rolling forward and wildly firing flickfire missiles as it turns the lava monsters into lava paste.
>>5331735
Can anyone tell what set(s) these are from?
>>5332269
That definitely works! Pretty cool.
Bit the bullet and purchased the First Order Snowspeeder. Added some stuff to the vehicle and modified the front gun.
>>5332382
Added a wall between the cockpit and the Officer's seat.
>>5332386
Heres the modified turret. It can now swivel around enough to give a !80 degree view for the gunner.
>>5332388
Cargo hold. Two crates of stud's a crate of grenades.
>>5332392
Snowtrooper Gunner. Also carries a rocket launcher on his back.
>>5332396
Forgot to add, its a grenade made from a lightsaber handle and one matching colored stud and a single neon or clear stud.
>>5332399
Here is a rocket launcher made from a hose piece, a black technic pin, a black lightsaber handle, and a neon green stud.
>>5332401
I'm gonna have to steal that
>>5332401
Built a base for the Snowspeeder itself. It locks the wheels in place and prevents the speeder from rolling away.
>>5332411
I placed Boromir's head and hair piece on the Snowtrooper Officer. I kind of like it.
>>5332410
Be my guest man. Its a very simple design. Im surprised I havent seen it yet.
>>5332386
I like all the changes but this one, the speeder has a very intentional "open air" feel and this cuts into it. But more power to you man, MOCs and mods are great.
Unadvertised double VIP going on at LEGO Shop@Home right now.

Think this is the right one.
>tfw really like this theme
>only two more sets available locally, and even the online stores are starting to dry up
These are really hard to find here. I've ever seen any on one actual store. I kinda want to get few more, but the full theme I dreamed of won't be happening anymore
>>5332740
i liked the idea of the theme, but didnt actually like alot of the sets surprisingly
the only one i really fucking loved, was the fist tank
>>5332678
All mixels look like shit.
They exist for parts only.
Nothing pisses me off more than people selling bundles of Lego with half of them being mega blocks, makes me so fucking rustled.
>>5332299
I was thinking about folding wheels anon, but I don't really have the pieces for it! I did tech it slightly though.
>>5332772
Also it can be self-propelled if the horsey bites the dust/more play value
>>5332773
Frontier worlds can be quite dangerous
>>5332763
On the other hand, nothing is more satisfying than sorting all of your lego from everything else in there that isn't lego
God damn it cracklink, I only went in looking for 3 pieces
Goddamn the Battlefront battle packs are halfassed as fuck.
>Rebel Alliance Battlepack
>oversized speeder with turret
>6 available alien races yet they still manage to include one not in the game
>Just one of the nice new helmets
>Studshooters
>Galactic Empire Battlepack
>Imperial Officer even tough you can't even play as one
>Build is something they just slapped together with spareparts (and not in the game)
>Two jumptroopers with IDENTICAL battle damage just to piss collectors off
>Shocktrooper is nice tough
>Studshooters
If I would decide, each battlepack build would consist of a little barricade, a flag with the rebel/imperial logo and something else. A smaller speeder for the Rebels and something for the imperials
>>5330870
Yes, it came with a skull helmet.
>>5332920
Time to cut the cake.
>>5332850
>Mfw no rebels-style shock stormtrooper
Deffs going to pick up the rebel battlepack to build up my resistance forces, though.

What if the new Death Star is just the same as 10188 but with updated minifigures and uses some new parts/techniques?
I mean after they re-released the Winter Village I don't find it too unrealistic that they'd just update the Death Star, especially if it has managed to sell for 7 years
After years of trying to obtain Klocki, Klocki Clown finally finds the master of Klocki...Saint Wojciech

Will he finally find the secret to enough klocki?

Will Lego ever make a white pantsu piece?
This chart needs an Ultimate Warrior update.

>Will Lego ever make a white pantsu piece?
there's this, probably the closest thing

>What if the new Death Star is just the same as 10188 but with updated minifigures and uses some new parts/techniques?
I'd buy one then. Main reason I never did is because the minifig style is woefully out of date.
>>5332850
You can't be duros in battlefront? That's a bummer.
>>5332269
Honestly, I preferred the uncanny face.
It was really cool.
