Hey /biog/, I just ordered the villain pack from some dude in Ukraine on eBay. It was about 13 dollars, did I get a bad deal? Also, how many of you guys own one? I can't tell if it's really rare like the comic con ones or super common like the hero pack since nobody fucking talks about it. Series 1 toa: a little too simple but overall looked good. Would've been better with more detail.

I actually liked Sidorak's character a bit. It was interesting to have a guy who thinks he's hot shit but is actually yuge wimp who is being controlled by someone else. Granted, it could've been better, everyone saw from a mile away that Roodaka is the big bad. But after 4 years of Makuta shenanigans, it was refreshing

I love how little they cover friction for the hip swivel feature. It looks sufficient enough though. Seeing them in hand makes me warm up to the designs overall, Tahu especially.
Also not bonkle but I managed to pick up Vader and I really like it! Much better than I anticipated!

Uxar, Terak and Melum have rhino horns.
And their head is an odd combination of avian and reptilian.

While their animal inspirations are clear, I think they're meant to be chimera-like creatures, with traits of different type of animals. I like it, it emphasizes their fantastical/alien nature.

I hope the Beasts follow that concept too.

If you want Bohrok, look for anywhere that sells second-hand Bionicle sets. eBay's fairly good for them. I'm a Brit, so I just head down to car boot sales and pick up G1 sets there. I don't know how other countries sell their old stuff. They're everywhere. I've got a large box just for Bohrok and their parts. You may need to replace the rubber bands if you want to use the neck gimmick.

Repurposed that moc from one of the last threads into a Pohatu revamp (with guest appearance from Soldier Takua, which is mostly not my design). I think it works a lot better as Pohatu, especially with the weird kilt-piece thing.

Dunno, but I know which creature/uniter will be last. Tahu and the firehawk. DV's in charge and he hates doing reviews. Last year he outright stated that he only does reviews so he can continue receiving free stuff. I think he also mentioned that Andrew kept bugging him to do his assigned reviews last year until he did (which is pretty much the only thing required of him and yet he stalls).
One thing that bugs me about bzp is that after all these years they haven't improved their reviews. Their videos would benefit from a better cam and scripted lines. As for their written reviews, although it could be argued that they should be simplistic since they are intended for children, they come off as amateurish. Often (but depending on the reviewer) they offer silly remarks instead of actual pros and cons based on a set's structure. The PoJ review deserves a dishonourable mention. Reviewing stuff can be pretty annoying/boring at times desu. I used to review Roboriders and random tech stuff on YT, quit a few months ago because I couldn't be bothered editing videos or talking about a single item for long periods of time.

1) No, they are not part of the same species. But, I do believe they are each unique for the purposes of characterization.

2) They have the same faces because it was cheaper to make than unique faces for all the beasts. Like the villagers/protectors. These just have the added bonus of ear/horn variety as opposed to the protectors not having such.

3)Their mouth does not have a bottom jaw in toy form, but you can probably imagine it would go where they shove the toa's heads in.

Well I wasn't a fan of the Skeleton guys or the 2nd form toas that have yet to be released.

I understand what they're going for though, kind of a south american jungle vibe with undead warriors (skeleguys)and Jungle Gods (toas), so I do appreciate the design elements there.

I enjoyed the first wave that consisted of the Toa and protectors (from what I've seen, I haven't bought any)
They may have looked a little simple with the flat CCBS shells but they were really recognizable and had overall good designs.
