>NEW THREAD
>this one is dead as dicks
>over an hour later, the first reply is still up for the taking
Because making a new thread is a great way to get people to post all the NOTHING that was sending the old one hurtling towards page ten.
We had a while where new threads didn't happen until the image limit was reached. That was good. Let's get back into that habit.
>>5285082
But you didn't post an image.
Very nice ship, amazing spot on minifigs.
Too bad they don't look like lego.
>Searching eBay
>Find this
It's actually pretty cool. If I weren't a purist, I'd probably buy it.
>>5285333
>>>/pbbg/
>>5285333
Try building it with LEGO pieces, anon. Grab a Nick Fury from that Spider-Man set in 2013.
>>5285327
That ship is very well-replicated.
I can live with the dumb minifigs, I suppose. As long as they pull off the bird-launching gimmick.
Hey, at least the green porks have stud on head, that might be funz.
The rest of Sally's all here guys, get hype!
Though there's still a few balance and structural issues I need to work out first, unfortunately. So she won't be done for a little while.
>>5285417
Does she rawr?
>>5285333
I almost picked one up from my usual source but marvel stuff isn't really my thing, I did get this though.
>>5285453
...
You know that's a real set, right?
EBay has been good lately. Picked up two of pic related for 40 dollarydoos each, among other miscellaneous sets.
I like it more than the new UA chopper, especially those meshing rotors. Still, might try to snag one of then on sale or clearance and do a mashup.
>>5285471
Yeah, I bought it for the silliness of it all.
>>5285082
fuck off fag.
>>5285502
I prefer this one too, UA isn't really worth it apart from bad guy figs and the drill. Too monotonous color scheme and good guy figs, the first Agents had somewhat of an unified theme to both factions and the result was pretty nifty, UA looks as if they either ran out of steam after designing the villains - that or they wanted to appeal to average "muh realistic military" fan which is even worse considering how monotonous 90% of this shit is.
>>5285561
But overall I really liked UA, it's just the colour scheme. Vehicle design was strong in that one, and the league of villains leaves other themes for dead.
>>5285554
sup butthurt op
>>5285566
When it comes to recent themes, Monster Fighters had the best villain selection imo, both in terms of figs and sets, some of the Ninjago waves come close too (especially snakes and ghosts), but yeah, I agree overall. Fire guy, drill hands guy and the robo shark are my favorites (shame the last one is seemingly a limited release)
>>5285354
Can you do mental math like Rainman too?
>>5285312
Is that a render or a photo? I honestly can't tell, but I guess photo
>>5285327
The pigs look like the rock monsters from Power Miners, will get one because I like Lego oddities
Ship's honestly pretty nice but not as nice as the Ninjago pirate stuff which has a similar ramshackle theme
birds look horrible though
>>5285417
Niiiice. What're the issues at hand?
It's funny, I can finally afford build those gals of my own now, but I wanna wait 'till after December because then I'd both have more cash to throw around plus I could get some non-Lego robot chicks too! I guess I'll just design more, looking back on many the shoulders could do with reworking.
>>5285082
But anon, this board is too slow~
[spoilersontoy]Seriously though the newposters are probably never going to conform to the old ways. [toilers]
So what sets are you gonna get this christmas?
I have a 20% off coupon and I was thinking maybe getting christmas village, santa vignette and maybe some other smaller sets.
>>5285684
Does the purple ghost have two different hairdos...?
Also, all the monsters look subpar in comparision to CMF, MF and Scooby ones.
>>5285682
Technic / Creatorfag, so looking to get either the Crawler Crane or MB Arocs along with that cute little Gingerbread Haus.
Money's getting tight though, so I might end up with a Ferrari F40 instead.

Yeah, two hairpieces and a double sided face
>>5285567

Hoping to get the remainder of the star wars sets that I don't get for my birthday this weekend
>>5285690
Well Ghostbusters is a little limited compared to something like Scooby-Doo. You only get ghosts and possessed mascots with the GBs.
>>5285682
I haven't got Lego for Christmas since 2007, and my mom and grandma would give me a lecture on kiddie shit if I asked.
Would anyone be willing to trade a Spooky Girl minifig for an unopened Spider Lady?
I can't upload a personal pic cause I'm at work (even then I don't know how well a pic of proof would look like), but I am 100% certain I have an extra Spider Lady due to feeling the "dress piece" through the bag.

That Guy-Manuel helmet is just about perfect. It's a shame the Thomas helmet lacks a visor. Is there some reason why the builder gave Thomas round 1x1 lifts instead of square plates? Also, what's with the wheel on that taxi?

Dear Lego,
Just re-release Classic Castle sets, that's all we really want.

http://saffronscarf.tumblr.com/post/128825601614
>>5286322
That's just your opinion, man
They did a re-release of a plenty of 80s sets in the early 2000s and it didn't do too well, not to mention that Castle/Kingdoms from late 2000s and early 2010s is miles better than any castle before, nostalgia be damned. I wouldn't mind a Fright Knights reboot though.
>>5286322

Nothing too major, just a couple of weak connection points that need changing. But given how top-heavy she is and how small her feet are, I think I'll probably have to make her a stand to balance on.

Sounds like a solid plan. I can't wait to see how your gals transfer to 3d.

Are the Halloween minifigure packs worth picking up?
I used to love messing around with Lego, I even promised that I would build myself a little house for a minifigure that was meant to represent me.
I need a way back in desu.
>>5286410
Collectible minifigures are just that. You'll want small sets or the like for actual building.
They're still totally worth it though.
>tfw you'll never be able to replicate these because a single one of those large tan windows costs a minimum of $5 each.
I know it's heresy but I'd rather buy some white windows and spray paint them tan than paying $50 for enough windows to make a coach.
>>5286410
if you're really into architecture i recommend you check out the creator houses sets, if you have some more money to spend and want some more bang for your back i highly recommend you check out the more advanced "modulars" from Lego.
The latter come with loads of more traditional bricks, have several architectural styles to choose from and some even come with a very very detailed interior.
Also, prepare to get mad addicted to the blindbag series figures. If you see one you like, you can check out wich parts they come with and feel through the bags for them. They tend to skyrocket in price on the aftermarket so be quick.
>>5286337
>>5286440
I still don't get why the city-esque figs from series 9 ans 10 like the movie star, trendsetter and grandpa are worth so much while the majority of similar figures from the same or even ollder series at best cost 1,5 times as much as new blindbags (climber, parachute guy, all the mechanics and cops, pop singer, lifeguard...).
Also, where is that sinister eye tile from? The 90s torquoise/purple "action" Technic subtheme? It looks fantastic.

>>5287294
Hopefully it's clear enough to understand. Took a bit of a while to come up with, but I'm pleased at the results.
>>5286884
Nice use of the cmf stands for tiles.
I have 15 years worth of lego collecting in boxes under my bed. I'm tired of crawling under my king size and pulling everything out to find a specific box, and tired of scraping through a mess of parts to find one piece.
What are some space effective ways to sort and store lego? I don't have a lot of floor space to work with, so vertical or possibly hanging things might be helpful.
Help me lego general, you're my only hope.
>>5287437
Sort by type not by colour. Units of little drawers are superior to bins
>>5287437
My solution may not work for you, since I'm Bricklink seller, but I have a ton of ziploc bags, with the parts being sorted by type. More specifically, they're by BL categories. It works decent, I just pull out the bags I need, and pick out the parts
I really should get a drawer of sorts, but I don't know if I have enough room for one. Not to mention that some parts I have are huge, and trying to find a big enough drawer is a pain.
And this is all for new parts alone. Everything used is just in a Ninjago board game box.
>>5287437
a combination of >>5287442 and >>5287457
it might help in the long run to break your sets into piles by color (if you have alot of certain waves) so you're not starting with a massive wall of "find all the 2x2 plates" but thats just going to make more work
by part should be your better bet but you dont need hardware storage like for screws or buttons, you're not going to have 1-3 types of millions of different parts, you're going to have massive amounts of simple bricks of many colors
so a storage like this, but separating everything into bags would be your best bet in the beginning
then if you eventually want to use little drawers because you have ALOT of legos, migrate to that

Why use normal wheels when you could use the rail wheels that fit those axles? Similarly you could use the '4 gauge rail bits and the loose single rail parts for actual narrow gauge.

main reason
cowcatcher clearance issues with rail wheels
>>5286045
i bought it like a month ago, paid similar to that in euros (80ish), really fun build, interesting to build especially because you first build the chassis then add the panels. only thing is that engine has a tendency to fall apart on some parts when you pull it out from car. but 10/10 would build again
>>5287607
well, what about those?
>>5287613
adds height, dunno if it would work on the 4m track ldd wont allow it.

>>5287607
>>5287613
>>5287639
You guys have to remember that LDD doesn't really "click" the smallest rail wheels of any kind to any narrow gauge track.
As for the cowcatcher problem, if I were you I'd add height to fix it so that that way you can use the actual rail wheels. It'd also let you add details like the valve gear, though of course non-functionally. Otherwise your train is more like a funland train than, say, a narrow gauge mining or industrial railway bit.
>>5287692
Oh, also, this piece may be of use, but only if you want powered narrow gauge. Some people have done that too.
thanks for help thus far guys

shame ldd doesn't have 90's decals
So I finally kinda managed to reverse engineer tkh's heads, something I've wanted to do for a while.
It's mostly accurate to the look as far as I can tell, but as it happens I actually made a connection tighter than tkh's, which has a gap in the eye, and clearly some connections are different, as tkh's are much more easoly mounted than mine, which has upside down studs in the neck zone. Still, it seems quite feasible as a build.
Of course I couldn't just do that and then not build a lady too.
Pretty much no special parts are involved in this, which is really great, and AFAIK all of the colors exist too. Another thing to wait for, but an exciting learning development!
Shoulders are very limited, but that isn't too bad. I'd like to have her able to cross her arms, something other MOCs I've made can do, but which simple connections like her shoulders' current type can't pull off.

>>5288124
I did see it when it was still active yes,
I loved its cute design, but couldn't figure it out (before its instructions were uploaded
>>5288044
Sure thing.
This version is "my" version- it's inaccurate to what tkh actually does. It's tighter and longer than his heads' innards. I dunno how it'd affect building, for the most part. It still gets the idea across in LDD. Next is the accurate version.
>>5288146
The eggs look nice, I cannot already judge the whole line, but I don't think I wanna get a big army of pigs.
>>5288156
This is the second version. It's closer to what tkh does as far as I can tell. Both don't seem to be -quite- what he does, but they're close, so I'm okay with 'em.
I feel kind of iffy about this sort of thing, but this is more of just sharing a design concept than a full-on creation like with lingonkart' stuff that I imitated.

The ship actually looked like a very nice build and, depending on the price, potential good part source, putting ugly birds aside. Pigs aren't bad, I'd get two or three to use as aliens or ugly toadmen.

>>5288359
this guy sounds so nice
>>5288369
It's interesting how early they were eager to experiment with non-standard minifigs, like those two aliens shown in the article. together with this guy apparently liking modern starships and stuff, it really proves that whining about alien heads and other weird accessories as "not real lego" doesn't have much basis in reality.
Interesting read all around, thanks for the dump - I particularly enjoyed the M-Tron talk, it was my fave theme when I was a kid.
>>5288383
Yeah, as a kid I always thought that the (in my mind) arbitrary split between M-Tron and Blacktron: Future Generation was just due to me growing up, but after the first time reading this I realized that I just liked the designer more. As much as I love the Futurons, power of magnets is probably my favorite faction. Their culture in LQ is basically a direct port of my childhood headcanon.
Here's the photocopier I made for the last episode of Sunnydale Heights that I said I was going to post. Looks like I didn't get all the sticky-tack off of the round tile. I thought about putting a feed tray on the right side, but it seems like it fits the time period more like this.
Opened up. I figured somebody was gonna try to make some butt copies.
And here's the typewriter. I looked at a bunch of other people's designs and none of them seemed to be minifig scale, so I'm really happy with this. The one downside is that putting a white tile on top of it makes the roll bar almost pop off, and makes it look a little too bulky. If anyone has suggestions for how to make a better typewriter, I would love to hear them.
>>5288453
I like this a lot, been struggling with a typewriter build myself.
There's a plenty of builds around but most of them just don't seem sturdy enough for me.

Thanks lego general, i've been putting this off for years. It seemed so daunting, but having a plan helps. Now you can turn into a force ghost and hang out with yoda.
>>5288469

No, I took a picture of a yellow legs assembly and printed them all out after that 11 got rolled. I printed a second page in hopes that it would come out with less color, but it didn't.

Somones selling a X-Wing for $50 near me on CL. Thinking about picking it up if only to resell. I'm not a huge Lego SW fan.
>>5288185
Size comparison to a minifigure would be good, thanks.
Before I dismantle them, here's a closeup of one of the school desks. Again, I couldn't find anything that was minifig scale online, so I had to kludge it myself. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, and I like how the desk surface can flip up, even if it's a pain in the ass to make sure they're all lined up in every shot.
Front shot
Here's one of the lunchroom tables. To allow a minifig to properly sit down, the two 1x8 plates need to be swapped out for a brick, but that makes the surface a little higher than what looks good for a minifig standing next to the table.
So, /LG/ I've had this lying around for a long ass time and the "idea juice" has been long gone for it. I don't want to to die off like some of my builds, mostly because I love the rail-gun that makes up the most of what is blocked out.
The Idea of the build is a mini fleet frigate, the scale is somewhere between the micro fleets you see and mini-fig size ships.
I know it's not much to look at (I could post it with the engine section I have but it's pretty bad IMO and I want to change it but I have it as a place holder.) Could anyone give me an idea to try out? If you can get the feel of it I guess this is a long shot but anything suggestion might push me into an idea.
Also, pics of ideas help too as I'm inept at visualizing things from time to time.

>>5289093
The options for the books other than those hardcover collector guides are limited, to be fair - they can't use things not present in sets. Looks like it'll be changing next year though, the Nexo book has a minifig made specifically for it.
Also, nice to see more face variations, here's hope the other variants for next year will be new too.
>>5289096

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-_jBxMTeb8
today i heard something about disney lego cmf being something like disney princess figs. Anybody has anymore info? Well, my source was at some toy related conference in Czech republic and claims that they had them there. Would like to hear if this is just a ruse or not?
>>5289558
The Friends-scale stuff apparently sells pretty well among the target demographic, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was true and if this particular blindbag series was mostly meant to be a supplement for the Friends/Elves/Disney Princess stuff.
One of the bigger factories is in the Czech Republic and we had a plenty of leaks from there a few years ago, on the other - don't they make all blindbags in China?
Ok Polish anons. I hope this is not true but my boss said Lego Polska will not support Lego Bionicle, Super Heroes, Speed Champions and Elves because these series did poorly in our country.
I REALLY hope that's not true.
>>5289570
Don't care much for any of these and idk how much of what you're saying is fearmongering but it's true that they're making it difficult for independent stockists to order CMF, source: all indepenent toy stores in my city but one
Also, how are they surprised superhero sets did poorly if they made 80% of them Smyk/TRU/Auchan exclusives and two of these have, essentially, scalper prices which really doesn't help in a poor country where most kids can't afford much beyond blindbags, mixels, superprezents and the smaller bonkle and city stuff to begin with?
>>5289584
Boss said they were NOT on January-order card, while they are sheduled January according Polish retailer catalogue.
WHat creeps me the most. No sight in Disney Minifigs. The other version is still there.
>>5289589
Disney minifigs are april/may release if not a later one, series 15 is february iirc.
I like how they've decided to not sell superhero stuff right before the wave with microfighter equivalents hits. Sure sounds like a competent business decision together with all that TRU and Smyk shit people are talking about (how about that Ant-Man set btw, did Smyk forget about it). Man, as much as I like this company and as much as it it's ahead of a few other western ones (Hasbro in particular), Lego Polska blows.
>>5289593
But as I said there are not in retailer catalogue. ANd it had BOTH series of Mixels. (BTW Maxes look great, especialy Music and Castle one)
>>5289605
Oh damn, that's unusual... They might still be a chain retailer exclusive or something. That or considering how poorly Simpons sold here (series 1 of them is still around, yet most stores seem to be slowly running out even of Halloween cmf, let alone series 13) they just don't want to sell another series of licensed ones here.
Also, what are the releases for mixels series 8 and new Ninjago stuff?
nor true i visited poland and they were still all legos there
still they were overpriced
>>5289615
If you haven't noticed we're discussing 2016 releases and not Lego as a whole but only 4 specific themes for fucks sake
So, how does the inside of this work? I have a mighty need
https://youtu.be/WmQzQ-9akYc
>>5289612
Mixels: February and May
Ninjago April.
NexoK: January
>>5289653
You can see it uses a multitude of Technic triple axle connectors.
10288 and 57585 on Bricklink are the likeliest candidates and both are probably used at once.
>>5289660
Alright, thanks!
Didn't expect Ninjago so late, frankly, but I'll probably be done with CMF, mixels and whatnot by then so I'm ok with this.
>>5289668
Got that part. I'm thinking the inside. The the axels and the like. Thank you tho
>>5289570
How can something as basic and kiddie as toy cars do poorly?
>>5289679
Speed Champions does poorly everywhere and there are distribution problem even in western countries, it's a miracle it got a second wave.
Also, City cars usually both look better and more diverse and have more playability value for kids (why would you get a boring grey car if you can have a dump truck instead at the same price? Especially if option 2 comes with more minifigs and various tools for them and the car guy only has some trophy?), aaand SC have shitload of stickers.

>>5289562
the toy convention was there, not leak from factory. as much as i know cmf are made in china
>>5289558
Someone posted a leak of a retailer catalog that had the Disney logo next to the upcoming CMF wave. Beyond that, it's all rumors.
I'm hoping it's minidoll CMFs, because that will increase the amount of new hair pieces, and will make them cheaper on cracklink.
>>5289653
>>5289677
I had a go at building this, but I was never going to get far with only four of those 3-branch connector hubs (needs 8 in total).
While the build is pretty damn ingenious, the #4 connectors are under some stress and the gear movement is really stiff.
>>5289752
>#4 connectors
#5, even.

>>5289741
that is what i implied. How much i can tell you some retailers sent their employees to that convention where they saw some info on new sets to see which things they should order next. it looks disney CMFs are minidolls, as much i've been told. I won't disclose nor country or any additional data but i will just add that SW:FA sets are selling like shit at the moment and currently they have huge batches of unsold bley crap sets
>>5289805
Not surprised in the slightest, they look like shit apart from the speeder. The fact that they were released alongside considerably better priced (and looking) bigger scale figures that kids most likely love, it was to be expected.
Why does zombie bride and the crystal from the same set go for such outrageous prices on cracklink?

>>5290842
WHERE can you pre-order them? Closest I found was a britbong site, and im in merry old freedomland. Pretty scared that who-tards will buy the set like crazy in the first five minutes, and ill be stuck with the scalpers selling it for $200+. My GF feels the same about the GB HQ. Already bad enough at $350, but we all know itll be $700+ on the aftermarket. And, if for whatever crazy bizzaro reason CUNTbusters does, even just OK, itll sell for more.
Where can you do pre-orders for LEGO shit in america? Does such a thing exist?
>>5290890
This sounds like the Lego equivalent of that "I was in my favorite manga store, buying Japanese sweets, when a weaboo walked in..." pasta
>>5290890
Doctor Who will be available long enough to get it at some point. The license doesn´t pay for itself just through dimensions crap.
Same thing with Ghostbusters, they know that many people will buy it and don´t want to gimp their sales. Especially a 350$ set. That thing has to be available for at least 3 years.
Keep in mind that the Ghostbusters car never had availability problems, things like the Exo-Suit and Hulkbuster are an extreme rarity.
>>5290956
The big set is essentially a modular, they'll keep it for around the same time as normal modulars. Same with the Sea Cow, I think.
Also, Hulkbuster is hard to get? Didn't know, I've seen a bunch a week or two ago.
>>5290958
Hulkbuster was rare back in May, it normalized now.
I ordered my Hulkbuster in the middle of May on some site. It was in stock just the day before but I had to wait until mid September for the thing.
>>5289570
Has Lego Polska considered that maybe, just maybe, enabling anyone but two chain stores to actually sell most superhero sets would help a fair bit? As far as I can tell every single DC set over the course of last 3 waves and most Marvel ones were Smyk and TRU exclusives, often released at weird times (hell, Ant-Man still awaits the Smyk exclusive release I think...).
Suprised about bonkle and Elves though, I was under the impression that they don't disappear too slowly from the shelves. I don't think many people care about Speed Champions to begin with so this one doesn't surprise me.
>>5285327
Too bad that even the guy in charge of classic space was experimenting with odd minifigs, and let us not forget Fabuland
"they don't look like my idea of lego based on vague childhood nostalgia" is more like it, I don't think you're necessarily incorrect in your standpoint but you have to take into account that even the classic desingers wanted to make weird figures and give themes vague storylines, so it's largely an idea that we, the fans - usually the ones who are hardly the target group at that - came up with that those elements are "not real lego"
>>5290997
Don't they look like this in the movie? The sets are based on this, not the game where they're just spheres I think
Personally I'm not too excited but honestly it looks better than Toy Story where every figure was made in a different way which did match the movie aesthetics but didn't look too well in Lego form
