I'm on my phone and don't want to go through the effort of cropping, but does anyone else wish they'd release Obi-Wan's fighter from episode 2 instead of ANOTHER Jedi Interceptor.
>>
>>5291162
Interceptor in dark red was long overdue. It never made sense for them to release blue and green ones before the red one and the 2005 set doesn´t count, it was barely available in US and not at all in the rest of the world.

New AOTC JSF is overdue as well but AOTC in general is ignored as bad as Bespin.
>>
>>5291162
I'm mostly bothered by the fact that there's still several of the yellow Jedi-fighters here.

It'll look silly to have these side by side

I'm really mad that Hollywood is remaking movies instead of just re-releasing the movies and remakes that I liked as a kid. In the 1980s, Hollywood was about vision and creativity. Now Hollywood only cares about money.

How does this look for a custom fig? I'm planning on surprising a friend of mine (the drawing is his) with it. There are so many minifig parts to sift through I might have missed something that might fit better.

The hair is probably the hardest issue - there's obviously no headband shorthair part - but the part I found seems to be rogue-ish enough?
>>
>>5291242
>there's obviously no headband shorthair part
This bothers me. I want a Solid Snake minifig but there are just no good hair options with a headband.
Why is this? Does lego hate headbands?
>>
>>5291249

It's a bit strange because you'd think a line like Ultra Agents or something would at least warrant a single guy with a headband, regardless of color.

I get not incorporating it into a hair piece, but at least they could print it on the head. There are a few but they're pretty old and simple, or just ugly.
>>
>>5291242
There're several heads with headband prints though, that might work.

>>5291255

Unfortunately they're all yellow heads (not a huge deal) and the headbands are all mostly red (the green headband is more or less the character's trademark)

This is really the only one that would work at all. Combination of expression, eyebrow color is good, but the headband is white.
>>
>>5291242
What about neck wear but on the top of the head?
The ninjago mouth covering bandanna thing looks ok if you don't mind the stud on the top. maybe you could use the round plate in the color of his hair? The bandit bandanna isn't as nice, but you get the knot in the back. It pretty much works with anything that has a round one stud plate sized bottom.

Yeah you're right. They should just stick to releasing grey boxes and slightly tweaked versions of the jedi interceptor for the rest of time.

Will be getting all battle packs for figs alone, but maybe will sell the parts on BL.
Jedi fighter and Hoth base are ok, but not worth it for me

Still mad that Escape pod doesn't have sandtroopers, but the Jawa are ok too.

Overall really solid wave.

I would make the hip part not brown but in the same color that you choose for the torso

Maybe get some Jedi robe legs for the two color/boot effect but the colors don´t really match well for the drawing
http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/searchproduct.page?q=jedi%20legs#T=P

I would only change the hair and maybe the head. Doesn´t the drawing also have a very thin beard like this guy? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3626cpb0956&in=S But I think that´s open to interpretation.
>>
>>5291162
>>5291458
I like how before the 2012 January wave leaked there were hints of a set that the leaker said "would probably not get a re-release in a long time" which was obviously the droid escape and now they do a re-release mere 4 years later, 2,5 years since the production stopped.

I wonder why. The pod looks as shit as all other tries because they won´t do a differently angled cylinder wall panel, 3PO and R2 will get releases out the ass in other sets and one Jawa is in the advent calendar so it´s not really a favour to the fans like UCS Slave One Boba sans arm print being in the Carbonite Chamber.

Just poor all round. Maybe it´s because of Battlefront using the same escape pod in one of its shitty game modes?

I also made an Ash (evil dead) mini fig.

I am aware that ash doesn't have a full metal arm. But it just felt the most natural in lego form(reminds me of monster fighters).

Any tips to improve? I think I am going to need that blue indiana jones shirt.

you could make the chainsaw arm a bit smaller, that one's a bit too bulky imo. Just simply the chainsaw and a regular arm, if it fits, could work

There was a torn blue shirt with fleshie print in Speed Racer, the line sold very poorly (no surprise here) so the figs are, as a result, still rather cheap on bricklink.

I think the current chainsaw arm is fine, it's a bit big but then so are many officicial accessories.
>>
>>5292619

Jeah I know the hand in the brick chainsaw trick. I had it like that before, but I looks off when I look at in my hand.

Does that connection also not stress the hands to much?

>>
>>5292635
I'm not too sure, only just getting back into lego- I'd test it with my old stuff but I gave it all to my relatives. If it's a too-tight fit and you really have to jam it in, don't go ahead- or try sanding it down. otherwise you could settle for a grey minifigure hand holding the chainsaw

Yeah, but the 1x1 brick with studs on all sides doesn't come in red in any set, suprisingly, though iirc some old Creator set has it in dark red.

I've seen test shots in red on bricklink a few times but they're a bit pricey.

Speaking of test shots: anyone else tempted by the price drop of red and black ghosts?

>animal control worker (with a skunk and net, probably a male version of series 5 zoo worker)
>unlucky guy (with crutches and bandaged head)
>shark suit man (blue, with new molded flipper arms)
>laser robot ("evil" recolor of the series 6/11 toy robots, as opposed to the evil robot from series 8 and blacktron robot from 11)
>janitor (with a mop; prievously reported to be a bellboy but the mop piece got leaked proving it to be a mistranslation)
>farmer (with a pig and a new hat mold)
>tribal woman (with that baby accessory we've seen, probably another Indian to go with the archer, chief and tomahawk guy)
>astronaut (hopefully a realistic Apollo one this time)
>kendo warrior (probably just a reuse of the Ninjago kendo armor)
>female dancer (allegedly finally a ballerina)
>zombie football player (prievously said to be a zombie/skeleton knight for some reason; probably dark green to go with the zombie cheerleaders)
>wrestler (said to have a mullet so not a luchador this time, my bet's on a Hulk Hogan expy)
>jewel thief (I'm hoping for a Fantomas-style gentleman thief rather than something like the City crooks, or at least a female one if it's a generic thief)
>satyr (likely with gargoyle's headpiece)
>"guerrier volant" - "flying warrior" so I'd imagine some sort of tengu or harpy, but people were saying it might just be another race car driver

We've only seen illustrations of the queen, shark and unlucky guy so far, and a few leaked accessories (the mop, the skunk, and I think a backpack with the baby molded inside)

>>5292692
We didn't, that was a City female cop from the prison island sets; the race car driver isn't for CMF either, he's from Speed Champions. So yeah, like he said, we've only seen 3, pic related.
>>
>>5292698
I like how her print is a modernized version of the old queen from the first Knights Kingdom (that one which also had the first lady knight), the dress is over the top though, the usual slope would suffice.

This REEKS of inaccuracy. Don't put descriptions for minifigs we haven't seen which is nearly the entire series. There is no football player from what we know - that helmet is for a Ninjago Skybound figure. The janitor has a mop, maybe the mullet. Laser Robot,
We don't even know what that'll be like.
>>
>>5292969
It was translated from a non-English site.
>>
>>5292969
Full list was posted in French even before the illustration with 3 figs, while guy who found photos of the accessories claims the wrestler has a mullet iirc.

Also, two separate leakers confirmed "spooky warrior" is in fact a zombie football player and not a knight which makes sense because we already had an evil knight, in series 7.

And we know that Laser Robot is a recolor of the toy robot/lady robot for a long while, too. This post was literally a compilation of info posted here and/or on EB, not speculation. Speculation is only that the dancer is a ballerina and whether the thief is male or female. And what the fuck flying warrior is.
>>
>>5292969
This is pretty much just a list online stores got + things confirmed by leaks. The biggest inaccuracy we ever had on those was that series 14 had a generic ghost kinda looking like Death instead of the Grim Reaper the initial list promised.

Those weren't even the worst Ideas I had. I also attempted to use some lego rubber bands I still have on that gray thing that holds rubber bands in the lego boxes. I assume they are from a set, and with two wraps they kinda fit on a head. If they were above the eyes they would roll up and off the head. I have seen bands used on brickshelf and they seem to get them in place fine. Anyways, here is three more ideas. From left to right: The CMF rope bundle, a castle banner that requires you to look straight on at the head, and a bandanna.

>>5291242
If you are ok with using a head with some printed hair, I'd go with that and a pirate bandanna.

>75131
Tiny speeder with tons of useful parts, three versatile new torso prints and helmets, no flesh-throat on any torsos? 8/10
>75132
Only one standard First Order trooper, one UZI-vest trooper, and a Death Star gunner with a (black in a fascist space Britain military) officer? 3/10 because the little turret has those corner pieces.
>75133
New Rebel soldier torsos, female Duro head, new print on the A-Wing helmet mold, possibly new print on the old Rodian head, and an adequate speeder. 8/10.
>75134
Space fascist officer with thousand-yard stare, check. Stormtrooper with shock trooper markings, check. Beat-to-shit Stormies with backpacks, check. Different prints for damage on the beat up armor, negative. I know it's expensive to put four new prints on four figs in one set, but if you're going to go the battle damage route, it just seems lazy. Should've given them the sergeant mag pouch on the shoulder and called it a day. 6/10
>75131
Am I the only burger who managed to get this in the four-pack back in 2005? I remember the shelves at Walmart or somewhere were fucking packed with them.
>75136
I'm sure I'm the only person who totally doesn't mind a new C-3P0 and R2D2 with escape pod and supporting cast of whoever LEGO hasn't released in a small set yet every year or so. Gonna pick this shit up for sure. 8/10
>75137
Autist on heroine binge-tier detail on Boba (except for the printed arms, $60+35 S&H on bricklink though if you're interested), neat pignigga and lots of useful parts for structures. If it's around $24.99 like the current medium size sets, I'll get one. 8/10.
>75138
I think to design good sets, you need to have fingers, eyes, and most of your brain lobes. -5/10.

Are the first four gonna be ~$12.99 like the current infantry things, and the latter four $24.99? I'm sure they'll keep the same pricing system as the last few waves, they all seem about the same size.

FUCK the yellow. I just figure a mix of this and the current pirate fail ship can equal a good double deck ship.

Sorry, I just discovered that the original pirate ship goes for $500 used and built, and like $1300 in a box. It was my first and only pirate lego ship, and the GOOD ones, like the imperial flagship or the POTC ships are expensive as fuck now......also recently found out my original lego collection, like five of those big tuperware 20 gal containers worth, classic space all the way to aquazone, may have gotten thrown away due to a flood. By a fuck who, it seems, didnt and even now doesnt, understand that water logging wouldnt hurt lego.

I am so fucking pissed.

Frankly I'd suggest you start over with the whole thing, she's really awkward and she isn't very shapely.

Using whole bricks for the skirt, for instance, severely limits her articulation and the chest is likewise very stiff. She can't reach directly in front of her because of the articulation you gave her, and football-style armor is great but frankly I'm just not feeling the implementation.

Better looks have come from simpler brick use. Try new stuff and do your gal some justice!

>>
>>5294448
I'm not a brit, you fuckfag.
Just because it's less than a blindbag doesn't make it a waste of money. Might as well use fucking bricklink instead of being super-autistical enthusiastic about literal shit.
>>
>>5294453
kids usually don't have access to bricklink though, and they're the target audience, plus the usual price for Ninjago figs is usually higher than 3 bucks which if I understand correctly is how much they cost in Onionland. And anyway, kids are going to buy crappy magazines no matter what, it's one of the rules of nature, so if they can get a semi-decent Lego gift for the same price as something even more crappy, I don't see a problem.

You sound way too agitated for what it's worth, did your parents not buy you shitty magazines when you were a little kid? Is this some sort of trauma? Do you want to talk about it, man?

>>
>>5294464
It isn't, they also got a Swiss and iirc Dutch release and probably some I'm forgetting about. Thing is, they adapt the price to local magazine prices so they cost much more in the west than in Poland from what I understand (here they are 6 CHF or so which is almost 2,5 times as much as the Polish price).
>>
>>5294471
That's a shame, still, I would have loved to see them locally. Picking up a few copies for the figs beats bricklink in some cases. Not the end of the world of course.

>>
>>5294482
It's less autistic than "muh waifig", "I buy for my family" Australian weirdo, "Lego isn't real Lego anymore" and SW debacles imo, not to mention discussing politics here. Kinda annoying at times, sure, but you blow it out of proportion. Chill, hide the photo that irritates you, move on.

You know, the cat, the monkey, the not-Duck Hunt dog) as far as this kind of goofy shit doubling as part source goes.

Being able to just rip things apart and stuff like that is very helpful, but trying to buildthings with hinged parts is hell, it's all adding plus .1 degree at a time is no fun.

Making more figures between now and December's end is okay practice, and that so many seem so simple and cheap makes the idea of building 2-3 of my figs at last at once seem feasible too. I still dislike the waffling, I want to build dammit.

I like the shape of the blade, but the crossguard looks bad. My favorites are the CMF/LOTR longsword and the classic hard plastic black sword, I think; I like the weird claw and buzzsaw out of the bionicle weapons too. And the CMF raygun is amazing, so many uses on top of nice retro sci-fi aesthetic which makes it fight right in with pretty much any space theme up to date.

>>5295852
You forgot about bizarre colors used only for 4-5 sets ever and those Jack Stone glass pieces integrated into normal builds. Those are hallmarks of that era much moreso than chrome which was slowly being phased out already at the time.

Buy 48x48s and tile them with CMF stands or whatever??? I don´t really understand the problem.
Many people have built hangars for their falcons, you should find inspiration on brickshelf, flickr or basically anywhere with moc pics.

Which Falcon do you have? The standard versions (7965 OT or 75105 Force Awakens) are much too small if you want good scale-accuracy. Unless you have 10179 UCS you'll just have to do with the four 48x48 baseplates.

Pic related: the top one is 7965, which is about the same size as 75105. The BIG one is the UCS.

>>5296366
Your 4504 is actually pretty close in size to the other two. Likewise, it's puny compared to proper minifig scale (which is why you can't get the landing gear to look right).

When it comes to actually starting to build the thing, you should just grab your bricks and go. Whether it's with LDD or with a pile of rainbow parts, just start tiling up your baseplates and building up those walls. Keep at it until you're satisfied (or show us until we're satisfied). You won't get the scale right with numbers or by referencing other MOCs, so just go with what feels right compared to your references.

It always comes down to the fact that minifig proportions are very different from human proportions. You could have a smaller Falcon if minifigs were thinner, or the UCS could be perfectly-sized if minifigs were taller.

Is this worth buying if I find it? I have collected the five sets of the line, so buying this set will double the amount of minifigs. It would also be one of the very few sets that would be acceptable to have on display, since everyone I know knows that I'm an avid chess player. However, the Pirate king and queen seem to be identical to the ones from the sets, and this triggers my autism.

What also triggers my autism is that they have set the board up wrong. White square on right-hand corner, is it so hard to get right?

>Pirates collector
>chess player
>set is already good value
Grab it on sight, anon. If you're gonna display it and actually use the set as a chess board, you'll get less bothered by the king and queen pieces over time.

And you can switch their minifig parts around anyway, if you really want to differentiate them from the main sets.

Also just set the tiles up the proper way.
>>
>>5298060
I'm not a Pirates collector, I just happen to have all the 2015 sets (except the Juniors and the chess set).

It would be fun to play on it, but perhaps not very practical. The pieces don't look very stable, and you're not going to hit those studs in time-trouble.

Intentional or not, you're a Pirates collector.

I already liked the idea of this as a chess set, but looking closer, you really get a LOT of good accessories with this and the beach build it's on is generous. One of the soldiers is even wielding a baguette loaf. If my budget weren't so tight, I'd definitely be picking this up.

The Redbeard looks like they switched out a Brickbeard torso and the hat has no design on it. You can always mix up the minifigs too. Give the Pirate queen short side-swept black hair.
>>
>>5298105
I actually think the baguette soldier and the banana pirate look pretty stupid and make the set slightly worse. I would also have liked a more "classical" look for the rooks and minor pieces.

Pretty nice, probably the only of these spinner equivalents I'll consider buying.

I'm sad Axel won't get one of these because I'm not interested in the castle and he'll probably go for 10 bucks if not more on the aftermarket anyway.

Huh, most of the civilian minifigs from Nexo Knights as well as all of the villains look perfectly useable in more orthodox fantasy mocs, nice. Definitely getting the big lava golem with the queen now, probably the podracer, some of the small sets and Lavaria too.

Also, we're only missing CMF, Elves, Ninjago and some licensed stuff now, right?
>>
The large lava golem and Merlock's library both have combo models with larger sets, Jestro's warmachine and the castle respectively.

Also, in which sets will all those female monsters from the promos show up? Summer wave?

Well, a spaceship's ass is its engines, so I'd say it's already got that.

The medium nougat parts are already stretching my this-part-doesn't-exist-in-this-color-itis, the big space wheels I used for the engines ought to be medium nougat but it looks wierd colour-blocking-wise.

I'm more interested in making a shitty idea into a neat spaceship than I am sculpting a plastic ass out of digital plastic.

>>

Yeah. I liked some of the spider-shaped bad guy mechas, but as a whole it was painfully forgettable. Can't attach the photo of one of the few I liked because we just hit the image limit.

I don't mind eastern style though, Ninjago samurai mechs are probably best official ones up to date and I'd love to see more of that.
>>
>>5298829
I don't either my favorite animes/mangas are mechas.
I just thought they were like you said completely forgettable.
I'd like to see two factions with an eastern mecha design and the other with a western mech design. that way you get both.

How do you adult guys feel about spending like $100-200 on a single set? I've been thinking about it recently... it's a hobby and stuff, but sometimes it feels like too much for plastic bricks.

I'm the guy who have around a hundred sets collecting dust here, not a parent or anything. Did that ever cross your mind at some point? And how do you deal with explaining shit to people like "it's not for my kid, I collect these".
