Soo noob question.. In regards to the Chaos Marines Codex can I mix and match legions for max benefits? For instance can I take a world eaters Chaos lord, demon prince, 3 squads of bezerkers and then take a squad of iron warrior havocs? Or does everything in tbe detachment have to be legion specific?

Could be they kept the secret to making more Custodes to themselves, and use it to replenish their numbers whenever one dies or decides to retire for whatever reason. They aren't exactly made in the same way as Marines, but it's likely they keep their technologies in the Imperial Palace so they can make new ones.

Although the mention of them retiring sounds awesome. It'd be neat to see one join a Deathwatch team as a Blackshield. Also neat if they join up with an Inquisitor; a 1k+ year old pinnacle of post-humanism who is too old for this shit teaming up with a firebranded young'un of maybe half a century to flush out Heretics.

Black primer -> gunmetal airbrush paint -> I didn't airbrush it, I simply brushed it on -> null oil wash(real light, lots of water) -> mithril silver highlight.

I've heard all my metalics come out grainy because it's GW paints, but I'm too scared to try other brands. The grainyness kinda helped here to make the armour seem thicker than average mail.

Go with their parent chapter's tactic, MW were about assaulting from cover to ambush fuckers and White Scars seem fitting in that they can move up faster and hit and run is damn good, especially for fast units like Assault Marines.

its heavy d6 vs heavy 1 for their AT rounds, 5D6 was 9 in equal points. The kustoms also have better AP but worse damage. IMO between the 2 the kustoms are better just because you can put their shots onto any decent save target and do good damage.
